Anyone who thinks PlayStation move is simply Wii on PS3 has got it wrong – that’s the message Sony wants to put out ahead of its more detailed reveal of Move at E3 next month.
Several high-profile commentators, including the likes of Nintendo boss Reggie Fils-Aime and analyst Michael Pachter, have dismissed Move as simply a clone of the existing machine.
However, much like Sega boss Mike Hayes, Sony thinks the comparison is wide of the mark.
“It’s inevitable that people would say this is Wii on PS3,” UK PR boss David Wilson told MCV. “But we see it as a complimentary product. It’s a different proposition.
“And let’s not forget, we’ve been in this space before with EyeToy and all the rest of it. There are learnings there. It’s not alien territory for us but we need to educate people about the potential that it has.”
Koch
Sales director Mark Howsen added: “Wii was deliberately pick up and play. We completely understand that and, let’s be honest, they’ve done a superb job.
“I think with Move it’s all about appealing to skill. It’s about the learning curve that’s built into the experience. It provides that satisfaction you’re talking about. The more you play the better you get. That’s part and parcel of the traditional gaming experience.”

Aside from its 3D overhaul, Dutch developer Guerrilla has said that there will be another key difference between Killzone 3 and its predecessor – variety.
“I think what Killzone 2 suffered from was the amount of variety that was in the environments and the in the minute-to-minute stuff that you did and we really wanted to up that,” producer Ter Heide told CVG.
“A lot of the variety in Killzone 2 took place in the final couple of chapters where all of a sudden you've got this big kind of mech suit. A lot of people didn't actually reach that stage.
“We look at what people do and we take on board feedback that we've gotten from the forums and from you guys to figure out the things that we need to do and variety's a big thing.”
Heide goes on to site a number of examples from the new game that fans of the series’ won’t have seen before. For instance, one on-rails section sees players tackling enemies from above. Then, of course, there’s the inclusion of jet packs for the first time.

Sony and Atlus are reprinting Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 FES and Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 in Japan. Both games are upcoming PlayStation 2 the Best titles, according to retail leaks.
The PlayStation 2 the Best collection are basically Japan’s selection of Greatest Hits games. Instead of a red stripe, “Best” games get a yellow label which won’t look that out of place on Persona 4. If Game Star and Amazon are right, both games will be back in stores on August 5 with a suggested retail price of 2,940 yen ($32).
Atlus also has a slew of Atlus Best Collection reprints scheduled for summer too. Remastered PSP games Shin Megami Tensei: Persona and Growlanser arrive in stores a second time on June 3. Etrian Odyssey and Etrian Odyssey II: Heroes of Lagaard make their trek on July 15.

News/release from mootjeuh
Hey all,
added some interesting features to brightpad and thought I'd release it even though it's only been two days
Anyway, here they are:
If you press square+analog left, it will go to the minimal brightness (see second feature)
Added a configuration file where you put your desired minimal screen brightness, and some other stuff
If brightpad finds that JoySens is up and running, the PSP will immediately turn off
When you change the brightness, it's level is printed on the screen
You can choose (by editing the configuration file) if you want to show how much time is remaining on the battery

News/release from bomblik
Hi,
GNU Robbo is a free open source multiplatform reimplementation of Janusz Pelc's Robbo for the Atari XE/XL which was distributed by LK Avalon in 1989. Robbo was one of the best and most popular Polish games for 8-bit Atari. You can see similarities to sokoban, but this game has additional features like shooting, unfriendly animals ... and even more On behalf on GNU Robbo Team, I would like to announce availability of PSP port of the game.
Binary version (compiled for kernel 3.xx+) and source code available.
Greetings

Team17 has announced that Alien Breed: Impact will be released for PC through Steam and for PS3 this summer.
Alien Breed: Impact is described as a "heavily expanded" version of previously Xbox Live Arcade-exclusive Alien Breed: Evolution.
Apparently it takes advantage of community feedback for the basis of some of its new features - weapon upgrades, co-op enhancements, and a "Prologue" campaign.
Alien Breed is a science-fiction action game set aboard a stricken spaceship full of pesky aliens.

Atari has announced that Test Drive Unlimited 2 is due out in the US on 21st September for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
The European arm of the publisher listed the game for autumn in its weekly release dates update yesterday evening, but British retailers Play.com and GAME have it down for 24th September, which would make sense.
US gamers will be able to pre-order from various places from tomorrow onwards, and each has various incentives. GameStop, most notably, is offering a standalone TDU2: Casino Online bonus game with poker, roulette and slots, plus two bonus in-game cars.
Amazon is offering an Aston Martin V12 Vantage Carbon Black special edition, plus avatar clothing; Walmart has an Inuit Audi Q7 V12 TDI Quattro and avatar clothing; Best Buy has the Aston Martin DBS Carbon Black; and Atari.com has a yellow Nissan 370Z (Fairlady Z).
European pre-orders should be announced soon.
Test Drive Unlimited 2 puts players behind the wheel of various sexy cars in Ibiza and on the Hawaiian island of Oahu (enhanced after its turn in the original game). Each location is full of races, property to buy and other things to do, and you can define your own challenges and interact with other players while you're at it.
