Recons! Medics! Assaults! Lend us your Engineers! If you're still adhering to your nightly routine of playing Battlefield: Bad Company 2 until your eyes refuse to stay open any longer, you'll be pleased to hear about some upcoming changes coming to console versions of the game. Unless, of course, you actually like the game's unkillable, super overpowered deathcopters. In that case, you're about to be sorely disappointed.
Changes coming in the update -- due out May 11 via Xbox Live and PSN -- include a few balance tweaks of most weapons, a slight nerfing of the attack helicopter and an increase in the velocity of tracer darts, making it easier to stick 'em to that aforementioned helicopter. Joy!

While Gears of War 3 may hold the cover spot of the next issue of Game Informer, the June 2010 issue will also feature a "huge feature" on LittleBigPlanet 2, Sony's not-yet-announced-but-very-real platforming sequel.
Considering the numerous leaks surrounding the title, we're unsurprised that the game's existence is confirmed by an uneventful preview of a preview. If Sony shows this off at its E3 press conference, just try to act shocked, okay?

Little Big Planet 2 is confirmed as being in development, according to print magazine Game Informer.
In an announcment describing its upcoming June issue, the magazine promises (among other things) a "huge feature article" on Little Big Planet 2, the sequel to Media Molecule's 2008 customizable platformer for the PlayStation 3.
While long assumed that a sequel was in the works, this is the first official confirmation we've seen. We'll have more on this as it develops.

Update: Sony has been in touch to let us know that the ModNation Racers PSP demo will be out here on 19th May.
Original story: Sony has announced plans to release a demo for the PSP version of ModNation Racers.
"In this demo we included a couple of our favourite tracks, some familiar Mods and their karts, and of course, a sneak peek of our amazing Track Studio," wrote producer Vernon Mollette on the PlayStation blog.
"To start you off we dropped in eight Elite and Pre-made Mods and their karts to light up a couple of new tracks, including Lost Temple and Flaming Jumps." The demo will also let users muck about with the Alpine theme in the Track Studio. It's due to arrive on the US PS Store on Tuesday 11th May, so expect a UK version when our Store is updated on the Thursday.
Sony is also planning to release some free DLC for ModNation Racers, titled Air Raid. It's "a sweet Mod that drives an even sweeter Fighter Plane Kart", according to Sony's Chuck Lacson.
"If you're lucky enough to get a voucher for this character, you don't just get to play as Air Raid, but you can get all the accessories that come with him to create your own "Ace" driver and slick Air Fighter-styled kart," apparently. Vouchers will be given out "in many different ways", as will be revealed on the PS blog.
ModNation Racers will be released here on 21st May.

Newly released today
From the publisher: You're not going to let those heroes come and save the world, are you?
What Did I Do to Deserve This, My Lord!? 2 retains all the quirky, off‐the‐wall humor, gorgeous retro art, and deep action puzzle mechanics of its predecessor, while introducing more content, more types of good guys to thwart, and many additional ways to craft the dungeon of your dreams (and the heroes' nightmares).
Breed monsters and create dungeons, throw all you've got against the heroes, it's time to make them learn not to invade into people's personal spaces.

PlayStation 3 will outsell the Xbox 360 this year, according to Activision's internal estimates.
The publisher has predicted that Sony will sell nine million consoles where as Microsoft will only be able to shift eight million.
The Wii, however, tops the Activision console chart with an estimated increase in sales of 18 million by the end of the year.
The publisher also predicts the year-end installed base for each console - with Wii at the top with 63 million, 360 coming in second with 40 million and PS3 bringing up the rear with 32 million.
By far the largest anticipated increase is in the handheld market with a predicted increase of 47 million, which fits with the news that DS sales leapfrogged Game Boy yesterday.
That's what Activision thinks stats fans. What do you think?

UK charity GamesAid is to release a triple pack of games for the PlayStation 3 in order to raise funds.
The games, which have all been donated to the project by their publishers are Tomb Raider: Underworld from Square Enix, SEGA Superstars Tennis and FUEL from Codemasters.
The triple pack will go on sale on June 25 at an SRP of £29.99, and all of the profits will go to GamesAid charities, which aim to help children and young people.
Sony has supported the project, with GamesAid partners including The Producers, Fink Creative, Mastertronic and Indigo Pearl all assisting with bringing the pack to market.
"We are delighted to be supporting GamesAid in this venture. It's good for the industry as a whole, and we're proud to be involved," said Ray Maguire, Sony's UK MD.
"Not only does this triple pack raise money for our charities, it also raises awareness of GamesAid at consumer level. We now look forward to retail getting behind it and giving it the push it deserves," added Andy Payne, chairman of GamesAid.

BioWare believes it has come up with a way to make Dragon Age "play nicer" with the latest PlayStation 3 firmware.
After the 3.3 firmware started causing the game to crash for some players, BioWare "pulled additional programmers from the main game teams to help on this and have been running several parallel investigations non-stop to find potential solutions from our end, as well as continuing to work with Sony for both dev support and other options," according to developer Fernando Melo, writing on the official forum.
"Thanks to the great feedback on here and from those folks we've been in contact with directly, the team now thinks we've been able to find a code-side workaround from our end to patch DA to play nicer with firmware 3.3, which was one of our investigation threads.
"At this time I still don't have a date estimate for a DA patch with this fix however, and unfortunately we do not believe there is a manual workaround for this (one of the other threads we're investigating).
"We are currently testing this proposed code change as I write this, and if successful the next step will be for it to go into EA's publisher side certification testing. They are aware of the importance of this and will give this priority in the queue of titles/patches across EA. And once that clears, it will go into Sony cert testing."
Dragon Age: Origins is available on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

Issues with topping up PSN account funds leave many unable to buy Modern warfare 2 DLC
A technical problem on the European arm of Sony’s PlayStation Network has prevented thousands of gamers from getting their hands on the highly anticipated Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Stimulus Map Pack.
Many users are having problems topping up their wallet funding on PSN meaning that if they currently have less than £10.99 on their account they are having trouble adding the money needed to buy the DLC.
As a response, Sony has been forced to limit the number of transactions it allows to pass through its servers. It claims that the result is a 30 per cent increase in successful transactions, but many are still unable to complete PSN purchases.
Sony has been working on a fix for the last 20 hours but at the time of writing has yet to find a solution. An update on the PlayStation Blog reads: “Some customers were unable to add funds to their account yesterday. If customers tried to top up their wallets multiple times yesterday they should wait a few hours from their last attempt before trying again.
“As we expect traffic on PlayStation Network to be extremely high over the coming days customers should try to make any purchases outside of peak hours if at all possible.”
With regard to the Stimulus Pack specifically, Sony added: “Some customers are experiencing problems downloading or installing the Call of Duty add-on and have experienced error code 80029564.
“As customers have the option to download all 7 versions of the add-on they should identify which disc they have (disc ID can be found on the spine of the game’s case) and only download the appropriate version for their disc. Where the download or install failed customers should attempt to re-download and install during off-peak hours if possible.”
It’s the second problem to trouble Activision’s Modern Warfare 2 DLC. When it arrived on Xbox Live in March early purchasers were unable to play the content due to a missing title update.

newly released for ps3 from ouasse
Hi people,
I am very proud to announce the release of my PS3 demo called retrostation.
I know it is a bit late compared to sony's decision to completely remove the Install Other OS functionality from the new firmware release of latest April 1st. However, I started this project more than two years ago, so I definitely wouldn't stop this until it is done. I also know about people who still haven't updated their system, because they are aware of what they will lose, so this is a way to show them what they can do with a ps3 system, even without hardware 3D acceleration.
The demo is an animation of different kinds of 3D objects. Some of these have been designed by Mic of Dune, who did a really good job. Others are coming from old Atari ST demos. I let you try and find out from which demos they come from ! Objects of the last kind are algorithmically generated: blobs and text in separately-animated pieces.
The music has been composed by Dma-Sc of Sector One, who also did a great job in the final design of the whole animation. I personally also use my own demoscene nickname in the demo, which is Zerkman of Sector One.
The demo runs on any PS3 system with a linux OS installed on it. It runs in framebuffer mode. Ensure you set the screen mode to 720p 1280*720, and disabled the Xorg server before running the demo.
I hope you'll like the demo as much as I liked making it.

[Matlo] posted a tutorial that will walk you through setting up a six-axis controller emulator. In April he developed a hardware solution using the Teensy but this version just needs a Linux computer with a Bluetooth adapter. If you don’t mind adding a computer to the mix you can use any peripheral controller that will talk to Linux and then adjust the six-axis PS3 controller mapping accordingly.

With motion control needing faith from the masses, Sony is keen to show there’s no smoke and mirrors
Sony has told Develop that it is actively allowing the press and public to take pictures and video of its upcoming motion controller, Move.
In fact, the platform holder recently allowed various members of the press to take snaps of the device at a recent showcase in London, which Develop attended.
Today news site VG247 reports that Microsoft will not be allowing video or photography at its "technology-free" pre-E3 Project Natal showcase.
It is almost certain that the newest and nearest rival to that technology – Sony’s PlayStation Move – will be seen at E3 with no restrictions on taking pictures and filming footage.
“We’re very hands-on with Move, we’re not camera-shy” a Sony rep told Develop. “We are showcasing a range of games that showcase Move’s broad range of experiences, and so we have no issue with allowing people to see Move and record what they like.”
The developments come as both Sony and Microsoft try to allure audiences to new technologies in which consumer confidence is vital. Motion control remains a relatively uncharted technology in the last three decades of game development.
Microsoft’s proposed ban on cameras will likely fail to encourage those who have already expressed doubts about its controllerless peripheral.
Traveller’s Tales company director Jon Burton recently told Develop that his own experience with the hands-free controller raised concern.
“I was actually more impressed with Sony’s motion capture solution than Microsoft’s Natal,” he said.
“[Natal is] exceedingly clever,” he said, “but the lag on the input and lack of physical buttons is really going to restrict the kind of games that can be done with it.”

Heres an Openbor Mod that should be compatible with the Dreamcast, Wii, Gp2x/wiz and PSP
Formally know as Sega Genesis Mega Brawler, Sega Brawlers Megamix is now the latest release since november. The roster now as 50+ characters, including new ones. One of the biggest updates of this mod is the new feature which is battle-mode. Once you start it, you will set in the hub stage, where there are 4 TVs. Hit them to change the channel of the stage shown, and walk into it to warp to that stage. Much thanks to Bloodbane for his help with this. Before playing the game, make sure to go to the options and set your controls for all the attack commands.
