News/release from ponlork
Minna Konbanwa! I've enabled the Custom Mode, now you're able to input words directly from your psp. The words will be automatically saved and you can manually add/delete at anytime. The Custom Question limit is only 10 for now, I'm still trying to work out the kinks. I also added 3 new stages so now there's 9 total. To access the additional stages press Right on the menu screen to toggle to the next page. As usual I've added more audio and images. Unfortunately I had to remove two audio tracks, the comedic "Hontou" routine in stage 4 and the "Drop the World" background music in stage 6. For some reason the game kept crashing when I kept them in this version. Probably using too much memory. I hope to fix the issue on my next release. Thanks everybody for making my previous version reach 1700+ Downloads!

For years man has wondered why Sony's HD console came with only a mere standard definition composite cable.
Wonder no more - because all has been set right with a PS3/HDMI cable bundle. In the US, at least.
The LittleBigPlanet Game of the Year edition will also be rolled into the mix so not only will PS3 buyers be treated to HD gaming straight out of the box, they'll be able to exploit it with one of the PlayStation's best games ever.
There's no official word on the deal yet but photos of the PlayStation box advertising the deal should be confirmation enough (thanks PlayStation Lifestyle).

PS3 and PC MMO DC Universe has finally been given a release date by Sony Online Entertainment - or a release month, at least.
Best send your spandex to the dry cleaners now because you'll be called to action by the likes of Batman, Superman and Green Lantern in November.
It seems like we've been reporting on DC Universe Online for years. Mainly because we have.

Daeadlus X64, the popular Nintendo 64 emulator for PSP is upgraded to 507 thanks to the work of revision froggyman that in recent months, is compiling and publishing various versions. The current build updates the file Roms.ini to improve compatibility with various ROMs, enable the dual display mode for certain games and fixes some bugs in earlier revisions. I remember the revision 430, to start the homebrew you need a PSP with custom firmware 3.71M33 least.
Changelog:
Quote:

Sony has been known for making both handheld and mobile systems for the past decade. With the rumors of a new system (PSP2) debuting this year, could it be just an alternative device to compete with the iPad and iPhone?
Sometime this year, Sony will release their new device, which is expected to include features that the iPad and iPhone have. The software it will be using is Google’s android and it will have the capability of playing games and mobile web.
With E3 approaching in two weeks, we’ll have to wait and see if we’ll have a next generation PSP. Stay tuned.

So Microsoft are visiting KojiPro. What for? As Spencer pointed out, it could be for either Castlevania: Lords of Shadow or Metal Gear Solid: Rising, or both. While the latter might seem more likely, it hasn’t been confirmed for release this year. Lords of Shadow, however, is listed for a global 2010 release in Konami’s financial results report.
Unlike other recent Castlevania games, Lords of Shadow is a reboot of the franchise, and is also a major step for Konami toward western development.

Following the announcement of Sony Europe's PSP Essentials line, Sony is introducing a line of super-cheap $10 PSP games to North America. The "PSP Favorites" line, launching today, includes first-party hits like LocoRoco 2, Patapon 2, PixelJunk Monsters Deluxe and Twisted Metal: Head On; as well as third-party games like Silent HIll: Origins, Justice League Heroes and others. The full launch list of "PSP Favorites" titles is posted after the break.
In addition, four games have been added to the slightly-more-expensive Greatest Hits collection: Gran Turismo, LittleBigPlanet, Resistance: Retribution and Secret Agent Clank. Each is priced at $20.
But wait, there's more! Sony has also announced a voucher for three games with the purchase of a PSP Go system from now through March 31. Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters, LittleBigPlanet and SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo 3 are now free with the purchase of a system. With those games costing a combined $80 at retail, that means the PSP Go is basically the same price as a PSP 3000 right now -- at least, if you were going to buy all three of those games.

Tales of Phantasia: Narikiri Dungeon Cross, a double pack of Tales remakes, is coming to PSP. When? Namco Bandai says 2010.
Online retailer Gamestar says something else. They have Tales of Phantasia: Narikiri Dungeon Cross on their release list scheduled for August 5 and priced at 5,480 yen. ($60).
Gamestar has a knack for ruining publisher plans and even Famitsu’s scoops. Just a few weeks ago, they announced White Knight Chronicles: Awakening of Light and Darkness’ release date before any other source.

When a PSP Monster Hunter game comes out in Japan you know it’s going to get a hardware bundle. Monster Hunter spinoffs like Monster Hunter Diary: Poka Poka Felyne Village follow this rule too.
Sony and Capcom have what will probably be the most adorable PSP bundle of 2010. The Airu Village Starter Kit comes with a copy of Monster Hunter Diary, 1200 mAh battery pack, a card to download Hello Kitty theme, and Lilac Purple PSP. Yes, that’s the same PSP-3000 sold in North America with the Hannah Montana game. All of the items, packed in a happy Felyne box, cost 19,900 yen ($218). Want to save your game or the Hello Kitty theme? Memory Sticks are sold separately.

Konami’s sales across all the different consoles they publish games on saw a slight shake-up in 2009, compared to the year prior. Here’s a quick comparison of what unit sales were like across the different platforms. Wii and PSP took a larger software share this past year where Konami published Silent Hill: Shattered Memories and Tokimeki Memorial 4.
Perhaps, next year, we’ll see the iPhone and iPad listed alongside the other systems as well.

Rockstar's not going to E3, favouring instead a more personal event that will take place later in the year.
That means we'll not see anything of LA Noire, Max Payne 3 or mysterious PS3 exclusive The Agent at E3.
VG247 confirmed the publisher no-show this afternoon after a UK journalist tweeted this morning that Rockstar had chosen not to launch a game at E3.
Rockstar recently cantered Red Dead Redemption into town.

Analyst Michael Pachter has told Eurogamer that what he said about a Twisted Metal PS3 game was "a guess".
"I know nothing about what David [Jaffe] is working on, other than that it is a 'really great game', according to him, but I suppose that goes without question," he said.
"My Twisted Metal comment is purely conjecture, it's the game I hope he's working on, but I do not have confirmation from him about it, and have not been briefed by anyone under NDA.
"It wasn't a slip," he added, "it was an intentional comment, and it is just my best guess as to what he's working on. For the sake of the gaming community, I hope I'm right."
Michael Pachter mentioned Twisted Metal in an interview when reeling off solid games that were coming to PS3. Jaffe later tweeted that what Pachter had said was "a joke".
A PS3 version of Twisted Metal has not been confirmed. Jaffe, co-creator of the series, is adamant he's not making the game.
Michael Pachter is an analyst for US mega-investor company Wedbush Morgan. But is he a man or a robot? Who else starts work at 4.30am and then leaves at 4pm? We investigated in Being Michael Pachter.

Sure, it's only one word in a long and involved interview, but according to Sony Cambridge Studio's Mark Green (who's been talking shop with Spong) it seems that a little something called PlayTV2 is in the works. "We're still working on PlayTV, PlayTV 2," he says, while the shop has "other guys working on other concepts." And while that's all well and good, but is there any chance that the digital tuner / DVR for PS3 might make it to the states some time soon? To be honest, we're beginning to lose interest.

Sony has officially revealed its PSPgo promotional deal in which it will give PSPgo buyers 10 top games for free.
As reported last week, if you grab yourself a PSPgo between 1 April 2010 and 30 September 2010 you can nip onto the PlayStation Store and download yourself every one of the 10 games - and it's a pretty good list (below).
As Sony details: "All you have to do to claim your games is use your shiny new PSPgo to access PlayStation Store and download the PSPgo Theme from the Latest category. You will receive an email including a PlayStation Network Voucher Code that will let you download your ten free games."
The move follows Sony's announcement of the PSP Essentials collection, which sees LocoRoco, WipEout and more priced at £9.99.

It's not even been officially announced yet but already Virgin Gaming has kicked off its existence by partnering with Sony.
Canadian copies of ModNation Racers are apparently advertising a tournament on Virgin Gaming's just-launched teaser site, in which handy racers can win a number of Sony-themed prizes.
The tournament kicks off on Tuesday, June 15 and offers the incentive of PSPgos, Sony Bravia TVs and a trip to Las Vegas all to be won.
The site's already kicked off speculation that the Branson venture could, in fact, be a dedicated tournament portal.
Virgin Gaming will be the first time the company's been involved in the business since its last venture ended in 1999, when its assets were purchased by French company Titus Software and Electronic Arts the previous year.

Platform holders are obligated to produce cutting edge, commercially risky games, Sony has told MCV.
“It’s one of the roles of a platform holder,” SCE UK sales director Mark Howsen said. “We’ve got to do that, to push boundaries as well as pushing strong franchises across their various iterations.
“Ultimately, the industry is dependent on creativity, new product and new ideas. As soon as we stop doing that then we’re all in trouble.”

There are now over five million PSN accounts in Japan, Sony has confirmed, who seems pretty chuffed with the milestone.
So pleased, in fact, that it's giving away five WHOLE Bravia 3DTV to five lucky PS3 owners in Japan. The promotion apparently starts on June 3, according to JPS, and five of those 5,000,000+ accounts will be plucked out of a giant virtual hat for the prize.
In a promotion more likely to benefit people who don't have houses covered in horse shoes and Buddha statues though is the reduction of all paid-for content on the Japanese PlayStation Home by 50% - presumably for a limited time although this went unspecified on JPS and we're not of the Japanese-reading variety.
Sony's European PlayStation boss has confirmed that a subscription PSN service is on the way to PS3 - and that details are set to be revealed 'soon' - possibly at E3.

News/release from mootjeuh
Well, you know what they say, every two days means a new Brightpad
I didn't really have the chance to add all the features I wanted but I still added some really interesting ones.
Code:
NOTE: to avoid any confusion, this one PRX is destined to run in the vsh AND in game, so don't post that there's one missing.Without further ado, here is the change-log:
Spoiler for Change-log:
Brightpad automatically detects if you're in-game or in the XMB, if you are in-game, then you'll HAVE to press two buttons to change the brightness. You can change them both in the configuration file.
While the first button is pressed, Brightpad will not allow the other button presses to go through to the running game/homebrew.
I also did my best to avoid flickering while in-game
Once again, here's the list of buttons that Brightpad accepts:
Spoiler for List of buttons:
select
start
d_up
d_down
d_right
d_left
cross
circle
square
triangle
trigger_left
trigger_right
home
hold
note
screen
volume_down
volume_up
analog_down
analog_up
And to be sure everybody got it, I say again that this one PRX serves in-game as well as in the XMB, so no need for two separate ones.
Anyway, download's attached.
Enjoy!
