Sony has launched a UK version of its PlayStation Gear store.
Until recently the Gear store had only shipped to the US and Canada, but the new site accepts sterling transaction and ships within the UK.
Items up for sale include an Original PlayStation Wallet (£16.99), Original PlayStation iPhone 5 Cover (£10.99), Original PlayStation Rucksack (£28.99) or Messenger Bag (£28), some coasters in the style of PSOne games Parappa the Rapper, Wipeout, Destruction Derby and Gran Turismo (£14.99), DualShock 3 Cufflinks (£14.99) and PS2 Keyring (£4.99).
There’s an assortment of clothing, too, including t-shirts for £17.99, PlayStation Socks for (£10) and a £29.99 ‘Double Life’ Jumper.
Some items are only available to pre-order, with payment being taken six days before dispatch. Others are dispatching in one-to-two days. The service is provided by boutique shopping company MyPlay.

The way in which Sony handles victims of account fraud on PSN could be about to change.
The BBC’s consumer show Watchdog last week highlighted two problems with Sony’s fraud response measures.
The first is that it has been refusing to refund content that has been purchased by third parties illicitly using hacked accounts unless it can be shown that the content was faulty. In addition, those who fall victim to an account hack are also finding themselves locked out of their PSN profiles even once the fraud has been confirmed.
"We would like to thank BBC Watchdog for bringing these cases to our attention,” Sony said in a statement. “Having reviewed the evidence, we concluded that these appear to be fraudulent transactions, and further, that unfortunately the service received by both Mr Archer and Mr Lappin fell below the high standards we set for ourselves.
“We would like to apologise to them both, and notify them that we have taken immediate action to reinstate their accounts and refund the wallet top up as appropriate.
“We are also reviewing the investigation process that is applied to allegations of unauthorised account use. We take the safety and security of our customers’ accounts very seriously, and have a range of industry-leading security measures in place to protect our customers. It is, however, imperative that all consumers take every precaution to protect their personal details online.”

Long-time Castlevania producer Koji Igarashi is currently Kickstarting a spiritual sequelto the series called Bloodstained. Thanks to the overwhelming response to the campaign -- it's now the highest-grossing videogame Kickstarter ever -- the game is coming to PS Vita and Wii U. While that's great news for fans of the genre, the knock-on effect of the port could be huge. Bloodstained is being built using Unreal Engine 4 (UE4), and Armature Studio, the developer in charge of the Vita and Wii U versions, will be the first to port the popular engine to the platforms. Why's that so important? Well, both consoles are currently unsupported, and Armature says it will share its Vita and Wii U code with any developer authorised to create games for the systems, potentially opening the door for many more ports of UE4-powered games in the future.

Sony kicked off closed beta testing of its PlayStation Now game streaming service in the UK a couple of months ago, and now it's time to talk turkey. Beta participants previously had unrestricted access to the PS Now streaming catalogue, but Sony's just started experimenting with rental pricing. A full-fat PS3 title now costs £5 to rent for two days, or £10 if you want to stretch that to a 30-day term; PS3-era PlayStation Network games are slightly cheaper at £3 and £8 for two- and 30-day rental periods, respectively. Bear in mind, PS Now is still in the early stages of beta testing in the UK, and Sony's made it clear that it'll be playing around with "different rental options at different price points."

We've known that PlayStation Vue would hit iPad sooner or later and now Sony's TV streaming service finally has. PlayStation Vue Mobile's available in Chicago, New York and Philadelphia (the same cities the service launched in earlier this year) at the moment, and it's basically the same as what's on your PS4 in terms of functionality. So, video on demand, live TV and access to your favorite shows and channels as long as you're in one of the three aforementioned cities. You still need a PS4 to sign up, of course, and blackout restrictions can occasionally block streaming, just like we've seen with Sling TV. Usually, that means sporting events blacked out for various reasons, but it's worth keeping an eye on.

We knew PlayStation Now support was coming to Samsung Smart TVs, but now it's finally here. If you have a compatible 2015 set in your home (or office), you can now start streaming games directly from Sony's subscription service. However, do keep in mind that you'll need a DualShock 4 controller to get started -- which is much better than needing an entire console. Up until now, PlayStation Now had only been compatible with Sony hardware, including the PS4, PS3, PS Vita and some TVs, so it's great to see the service become more widely available. Unfortunately, this is only available to users in the US and Canada, at least for the time being.

Racing fans will soon have a couple of additional options when it comes to next-gen ready racing wheels.
Logitech has unveiled the G29 for PS4, PS3 and PC along with the GP20 for Xbox One and PC. Both feature force feedback and a dual-motor force feedback transmission and a pedal unit.
The cost? £299.99 apiece, which clearly is a lot of money but is also in line with other high-end products in the sector. The PlayStation unit will be released this July and the Xbox wheel in October. A gear stick peripheral will be available separately.
“Our fans have been asking for a PS4 wheel since launch of the system,” Logitech gaming VP and GM Ujesh Desai said. “For the past 18 months we have been working with Sony to deliver a fully-licensed racing wheel and I am excited to announce it today.”
“The G920 is the wheel fans have been asking for on Xbox One. We built on our history and legacy of previous generation driving wheels to deliver on a truly immersive experience for Xbox One gamers. I personally can’t wait to get behind our new wheel to play Forza Motorsport 6.”

The ongoing PlayStation Now streaming games beta in the UK has entered paid beta modes, revealing some possible early pricing for the service.
Eurogamer reports that titles seem to fall into two tiers. The first tier prices two day rentals at £4.99 and 30 days at £9.99. The second, cheaper tier is priced at £2.99 and £7.99 for the same.
In the US gamers are able to sign up to a PSNow subscription for $19.99 a month, or $44.99 for three months.
Sony has said, however, that the final pricing for the service is yet to be determined.
"During the paid private beta the titles will be priced between £2.99 and £9.99," a spokesperson explained. "Final pricing for when PS Now fully launches has not been confirmed yet but we'll continue to listen to gamer feedback on this subject.
"PS Now is an evolving service and user feedback will be a key part of our service design decisions, including content and pricing."

If you're an ardent PC racing fiend, chances are that you either own or have heard of Logitech's G27. The G27 has been a popular gaming peripheral (it supports the PC, PlayStation 2 and PlayStation 3) that not only includes a steering wheel and three pedals (accelerator, brake, clutch), but also a six-speed "H" pattern gearbox. Today, Logitech is finally introducing successors, the G29 Driving Force Racing Wheel and the G920 Driving Force Racing Wheel for PS3 and PS4, as well as PC and Xbox One racers, respectively. Both wheels are equipped with dual-motor force feedback, 900-degree (2.5 turns to lock) steering, helical gearing, and anti-backlash hardware. Logitech is also hoping to impart a premium feel to its new controllers courtesy of a hand-stitched leather wheel, stainless steel paddle shifters, and steel ball bearings to stand up to abuse. Like its predecessor, the G29 and G920 both come with a separate, floor-mounted three-pedal unit to keep your feet busy when blasting around the Nürburgring. Unfortunately, the six-speed shifter unit that used to come standard in the box with the G27 is now an optional accessory. The G29 will be available this July, while the G920 won't arrive at retailers until October.

Sony PlayStation's Shuhei Yoshida is the best kind of corporate executive. The Worldwide Studios head is affable, open-minded and, best of all, he embraces competition from rivals. I'm speaking, of course, about Microsoft's recent move to partner up with every other company working on virtual reality that's notSony, of which Shu (as he's commonly referred to) says is no concern.
At E3 this week, I had a chance to sit down with the friendly face of PlayStation to pick his brain about making Morpheus more social, embracing crowdfunding to revive cult classics and just what is going on with The Last Guardian.

PlayStation fans who have been with Sony's system since the beginning can pledge their allegiance with a pair of new PS4 accessories. Designed to commemorate the original PlayStation's 20th anniversary, this DualShock 4 and Gold Wireless rock the familiar two-tone gray color scheme with its distinctive PlayStation logo. They'll arrive in the US for $65 and $99 (respectively) this September. The controller is coming to Europe and Asia too, but there's no word on the headphones.

If you've been longing to ditch your cable provider for PS Vue, PlayStation's streaming take on "television," then you'll like what Sony Computer Entertainment head Andrew House announced at E3 today. This July, PlayStation users will have the option to sign-up for * la carte programming. That's right, individual channels will be made available for subscription, allowing users to opt-out of pricey programming tiers. The new subscription feature will launch with Showtime, Machinima and Fox Soccer Channel. What's more, House confirmed that PS Plus subscribers will be privy to unspecified discounts for programming packages. And if that wasn't enough good news, House also added that, starting tonight, PS Vue will be made available to PS4 users in Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Believe it or not, Sony couldn't even wait for its E3 event to get started to share some news about the PlayStation 4. The company is launching a media player for its console with some playback features you might miss from your PS3. It'll stream media from DLNA-compatible devices on your local network, for a start, and you can plug in a USB drive if you'd rather play locally stored music and videos. The player should be available later tonight, so it won't be long before you can try it for yourself.

We're ready and waiting for Sony's E3 press conference later today, but for now you can get yourself amped up for its PlayStation 4 virtual reality initiative,Project Morpheus, with an early look by Wired. The big news? There are already more than 30 VR games in the works, according to Sony Worldwide Studio's Shuhei Yoshida. And while all of them won't be ready for launch, it sounds like Sony and its developer partners are making a concerted effort to push the VR experience forward. "You think everything's going to fall into one of four categories—sports, shooters, action, etc.—and that's not the case," said Adam Boyes, Sony's VP of developer relations. "Because developers have such great access to VR tools in general, they're just throwing everything at the wall." Project Morpheus is still expected to land early next year, and Sony reps say that the Morpheus headset will likely go for "several hundred dollars."

Virtual reality’s social credentials may remain a source of debate, but it sounds like the industry sprouting up around is quite the happy family.
Sony studios boss Shuhei Yoshida has told Polygon that, as has been hinted at before, the major players in the VR sector have been giving each other a helping hand to ensure that when the technology is unleashed on the public it’s as strong as it possibly can be – no matter which headset the consumer opts for.
"When we were talking at GDC we always invite each other to demos and exchange opinions," Yoshida said. "And we were laughing, because [Oculus founder Palmer Luckey] was very happy to try this year’s Morpheus. I was like, 'oh yeah we passed the Palmer test.
"They are looking like 'hmm, you can reduce a little bit more latency.' But that was March, so our teams are still making improvements. So we are working well together from a global standpoint to advance VR and bring VR to consumers.
"We have to make sure that system is super good, because the worse thing, and Palmer always said that the worst thing that could happen to VR is that some big company comes up with some mid-quality system and muddy the water. He was actually talking about us. He was talking to us."

Sony plans to slash the high cost of the PS4 in Brazil by partnering with a local manufacturer to build consoles for the region.
As reported by IGN Brazil, Flextronics will assemble PS4s in the Manaus Free Trade Zone. It is hoped this will reduce the price of the console for consumers, as Sony will no longer have to pay high import tariffs.
The taxes are so high in fact, that Sony has been selling the PS4 for around £1,000. The Brazil-manufactured consoles will go on sale in October, though no price details have been revealed.

PlayStation Europe boss Jim Ryan says the backwards compatibility of Xbox One is a legitimate strategy in trying to upgrade 360 players.
But he says that Sony will not be following the same tactic, as the firm is investing in other software updates to PS4. He also adds that - based on their experience - few gamers actually make use of such functionality.
“It was quite a complicated announcement and I’m not sure I fully understand it yet. And I suspect there might be a few twists in that particular tale. But we will see,” he told MCV when discussing the Xbox One announcement.
“It is an entirely legitimate approach, and if you are seeking to upgrade 360 owners to Xbox One, it is a very logical approach to take.
“We are just taking a different path. To the extent that you are investing in software technology - which is what this is, it’s delivered through software not through hardware - we are trying to commit our resources and put our emphasis on delivering on the promises we made right at the start of this whole PS4 thing, to be the forward-looking, socially-connected console. We are placing our bets on things like SharePlay, on things like Play as you Download, and things like Suspend/Resume.
“We are just taking two different approaches. Unfortunately there are just not sufficent enough software engineers in the world for everyone to do everything. Each platform holder has to make their choices, we made one and they made another. Their choice is entirely legitimate, and I think our choice is legitimate, too. In some ways it is quite nice to have points of difference between the two platforms, and people will decide which approach suits them best.
“We have experience of backwards compatibility. The earliest PS3 model was backwards compatible with PS2, and it is a much requested feature… but actually it’s not so greatly used.
“On balance, we are happy with our approach and we don’t wish to be defensive about it at all. But as I say, both approaches are legitimate.”

It’s been said on the internet a lot these last few hours, but Sony’s E3 2015 conference seriously was just a Half-Life 3 short of actually ending the world.
The Last Guardian. Bang. Final Fantasy VII Remake. BANG. Shenmue III. DEFCON 1. Half-Life 3? Actual planetary annihilation.
As the internet reaction to last night’s show will tell you, Sony delivered an almost unimaginable triple-punch in showing off three of these titles. Popular opinion will tell you the PS4 platform holder won the show. Many are even calling it the single greatest E3 event ever held.
Let’s try and keep this in perspective, however. The Last Guardian still won’t be with us until 2016. The Final Fantasy VII Remake may be coming to PS4 first, but it’s still a remake, and its appeal may not be as widespread as people believe. Shenmue III is cool, of course, but what sort of game is actually going to be delivered on $2m? (A goal that it’s certain to hit – the campaign stood at $1.2m when this journalist awoke this morning. Now it stands at $1.7m).
Sony had some great looking new IP on show, however. Zero Dawn from Guerrilla looks fantastic, as does Media Molecule’s Dreams. And it goes without saying that No Man’s Sky looks exceptional – but we STILL don’t have a release date. None of these games, or even the visually gorgeous Uncharted 4, will be out in 2016.
PS4 obviously has a little wriggle room, such is the lead it has over Xbox One. That should carry it over to 2016, you’d think. But it’s dangerous to give Microsoft time to catch its breath and fuel its charge. Xbox One’s press briefing yesterday was fantastic, with great looking exclusive software and an incredible new technology in the form of Hololens.
Microsoft is doing one thing that Sony isn’t, too – evolving its platform. Sony devotees would point to PlayStation Vue but that’s nothing compared to Early Access title and Xbox 360 backwards compatibility. The latter’s importance is still this morning being vastly over-exaggerated (unless it proves to be vastly better implemented than Xbox 360’s wonky original Xbox support, perhaps, but even then) but it still speaks of a company sticking good to its commitment to listen to fans and evolve its platform to suit both them and a wider market. Phil Spencer’s new Xbox division really is doing everything right, as it very well must do.
Sony doesn’t have this urgency pressing against it, so perhaps a slower approach is to be expected. But it has taken steps to cement its position. The theft of Call of Duty’s timed DLC exclusivity may in some regards appear a cheap shot, but COD remains one of the world’s biggest franchises and the deal is at the very least meaningful. You can't blame Activision for following the numbers (and the money). Sony will hope it has a bigger impact on PS4 than it did on Xbox One. The Destiny love-in continues apace, too, and now Disney Infinity 3.0 has joined the love nest.
If there is one categorical conclusion, however, it’s that E3 2015 has absolutely exceeded expectations. What an opening day. With NX strictly off the cards it’s hard to see what Nintendo can bring to the table tonight but even if we only get a handful of new Amiibos and Iwata in a silly hat, this year has already been a big win for gaming.

Microsoft's most eye-catching E3 2015 announcement was the addition of backwards compatibility to the Xbox One. It means some Xbox 360 games will be playable on the console.
When it made the announcement, Microsoft used BioWare's action role-playing game Mass Effect to demonstrate the technology.
"It was surprising," Sony Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida told Eurogamer editor Oli Welsh when asked for his reaction.
"I didn't think it was possible. There must be lots of engineering effort. They talked about 100 games, but what kind of games will be included? Is it smaller games or big games? We don't know."
We won't see the proper launch of backwards compatibility on the Xbox One until this autumn, but you can play around with a handful of games right now, if you're an Xbox Preview Member.
Eurogamer YouTube chap Ian Higton went hands on with Xbox One backwards compatibility, and was able to download BattleBlock Theatre, Perfect Dark, Super Meat Boy and a handful of others straight to his Xbox One hard-drive, where they run via a fully emulated Xbox 360 system - complete with last-gen menus and notification pop-ups (check out his report in the video, below). Any game not stored on your Xbox 360 hard-drive will need the disc to launch it, and save data transfers between consoles. Microsoft has said old games you don't own will also be available to buy further down the line.
Yoshida's question about whether backwards compatibility will work with bigger games brings to mind an ongoing survey Microsoft is conducting, which asks Xbox One owners which games they would like to see added to the backwards compatibility list. Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption - what would certainly be considered a "big game" - leads the pack.
So what about PlayStation 4? Now that Microsoft has managed to get Xbox One running Xbox 360 games, will Sony get the PlayStation 4 running PS3 games?
It doesn't sound like it.
"PS3 is such a unique architecture, and some games made use of SPUs very well," Yoshida replied when quizzed by Eurogamer.
"It's going to be super challenging to do so. I never say never, but we have no plans."
What does Yoshida mean here? Here's Digital Foundry's Richard Leadbetter to explain:
- PS3 was the last in a long line of games consoles to feature bespoke, 'exotic' hardware - in this case, the Cell processor with its ultra-fast satellite co-processors - the SPUs. The general direction of hardware design in the industry has moved away from those ideas - the SPU set-up is almost completely alien to the way CPUs are made these days - so while the PS4's processing cores are relatively capable, emulating the SPUs in real-time would be a colossal undertaking from an engineering perspective.
- In part, this explains why Sony undertook cloud streaming with PlayStation Now - getting that to work was challenging enough, but I suspect it's a more straightforward task than running six 3.2GHz SPUs on a low-power 1.6GHz x86 cluster.
At least PS4 has PlayStation Now, which lets you play PS3 games on your PS4 via streaming. But, well, it looks like it's going to be pretty expensive.

Rejuvenate, announced last week allows users to install unofficial applications and games (homebrew) onto their PS Vita device. Please read that announcement post for more information. Today, the public beta is ready for testing.
The beta is only for those who were able to obtain a publisher’s license (whose application was approved by Sony before the deadline on May 31). For the rest of you who do not have the publisher license (and no friends with a publisher license) but only the DevAssist app on your Vita, please wait for further instructions to come.
Note that currently, the open SDK does not work so you will not be able to develop or run homebrew. You can only run the ‘hello world’ demo. The main purpose of this open beta is to test VitaDefiler and UVLoader and find bugs in those tools as well as the setup process. Please follow the directions in README.txt. If you encounter any bugs or errors, join the #vitadev IRC channel on EFNet for support. No support will be provided by me elsewhere (Twitter, here, forums, etc). If you are running a version of PSM DevAssist that is currently not supported, please also join the IRC channel so we can port the tools to your PSM version.
Creating an App Key for a Friend
For those who have a friend with a PSM Publisher License (and can create app keys), follow the official guide from PSM to get an app key for your device. Then after you get BallMazeDemo to run on your Vita, you can run SETUP.bat from the Rejuvenate beta release and it will find the right keys. From personal experience, you may have to go through all the steps twice for it to work. I will not provide any support for this workaround, but feel free to ask Sony’s official forums. If you do not have access to a friend with a Publisher License, more instructions will be posted in the upcoming weeks.
Developer Help Needed
There are currently two open sdks in the works. psp2sdk and vita-toolchain. Both require more work to produce valid ELFs that UVLoader can load. - UVLoader with 3.x support is on GitHub as always.
- VitaDefiler sources are now public. Feel free to clone the repository and make changes as desired.
- VitaInjector, the precursor to VitaDefiler is also public. This was the tool developed before VitaDefiler and also serves as the dirty and hacked up backend for VitaDefiler. It only supports FW < = 2.50. No support will be provided for this tool, its release is only for historical and archival purposes.
The writeup for the exploits used in VitaDefiler will be published soon. They have been written years ago, so I only need to update and polish them before publishing.

Update: It seems that Sony has closed this loophole. However, if you own a PS3, there is another way.
Did you miss the call to register for PSM? People found out today that if you did not register for PSM (not the publisher’s license that requires manual approval, but the general developer registration), they cannot download the Developer Assistant app on their Vita in order to run Rejuvenate. Not to worry, I have discovered a workaround. But act quickly because Sony will patch this loophole soon and possibly also remove the Developer Assistant from PSN, so you should download it now.
Please note that the steps below requires running Javascript in the URL bar. Most browsers support this features, but I know that Chrome does not allow you to paste any text beginning with “javascript:” into the URL bar. So on Chrome (and possibly other browsers), you must paste just the text after “javascript:” into the URL bar and the manually type in “javascript:” at the beginning.
- First, begin the registration process by following this link.
- Enter the following into the URL bar on registration page

- You should now be able to click the “Sign In” button. Proceed to sign into PSN.

This is likely your last chance to get PSM. Please do it soon before it’s gone forever! Remember, even though the current exploit to be released has many limitations (including no VitaTV support), any future homebrew exploit (which may have less limitations) will likely use PSM DevAssistant, so if you ever want homebrew on your Vita device, you must download the DevAssistant application.

One of largest barrier to native PS Vita homebrew is the lack of an open toolchain and SDK. Essentially, we need something like pspsdk for the Vita. The reason why we don’t have it is because there are people who have an understanding of how the Vita’s executable format works but lack the time to code up the tools and there are people who have the time and ability to create such tools but lack the knowledge of Vita’s internals. The solution, I believe is to publish a comprehensive document detailing how the Vita’s executable format is laid out and the requirements for an open toolchain. Anyone with coding skills can now work on an open SDK; no Vita knowledge required!
For those who want to help with this endeavor, there are only two prerequisites. First, you must understand how the ELF format works. It is a very simple format and this document gives all the details. It would also be advantageous to understand the ARM extensions to ELF. Once you are caught up with that, you should be able to understand the SCE ELF format that I detail in the attached document. The actual tools that we need can be written in any language as long as it supports the three major platforms and meet the requirements detailed in the specifications. However, if you want a place to start, I would recommend libelf and portable C. I hope that the community can get together to work on this. Once someone makes promising progress, I will update this post with a link to the project so others can contribute. Please post any comments or suggestions you have for this document below. #vitasdk on FreeNode will be for developer discussion on the SDK.

The vita hack Rejuvenate was released this week, and is the very first native hack for the PS Vita. People might be confused as to what they need in order to run their homebrews, so here’s some quick how to.
Requirements to run Vita Hack – Rejuvenate
- you need to be approved as a PSM Publisher. If you’re not a PSM Publisher, a friend of yours with a PSM publisher license can generate the required keys for you (see official documentation). If you don’t have friends, stay tuned: ways to bypass this limitation will be revealed soon.
- The current version of Rejuvenate works on Vita firmwares 3.00 to 3.51 included
- You need the PSM Dev Assistant app installed on your PS Vita. Compatible versions are 1.11, 1.14, 1.15
- The tools require a Windows computer for now
- Because of the need to have a USB connection to your Vita to run homwbres, Rejuvenate is not compatible with the PS TV as of today.

Install and Run your first Rejuvenate homebrew
Please note that YifanLu is providing all the steps as clearly as can be in his readme, with several troubleshooting steps that we reproduce below. Read those if you run into an issue and before asking for help, this could save you lots of time!
- make sure you have the prerequisites installed (see above)
- Extract the Rejuvenate 0.2 zip to a folder on your windows computer.
- Copy PSM_SDK_1.21.02.exe to the current directory and run SETUP.BAT. Follow the instructions. You will need to do this only once. The setup will:
- Extract the PSM SDK
- Install the PSM Driver (this will require admin permission)
- Ask you to enter your PSM Dev Assistant version number (reminder, this is currently only compatible with 1.11, 1.14, 1.15)

The plugin LangSwapper is aimed at users who enjoy playing a different game to the PSP in our region and we want to keep the Home menu in the language specified in the System Settings on the XMB . That is, if we set the language to Spanish, English, German, French or any other language, the HOME menu always use that language while playing a game in Japanese, Korean or other languages we do not understand at all.

Hello everyone! I know our news updates have been few and far between as of late, but that's going to change starting now! Several really nice new features have been added by GSdx master Gregory lately. He has been working at breakneck pace and making amazing progress. This update will cover those as well as a few notable improvements by some of the other devs and some changes to how we are doing things going forward. The most visible of those changes for you guys is that we will now be writing monthly progress reports! Sometime around the end of each month/beginning of the next we will be posting a news update which covers all the major changes that have taken place during that month. For now, let's take a look at what has been happening in the world of PCSX2 since the last update!
The first and most noticeable changes are a couple of new GSdx hardware hacks – Align sprite and Round sprite. Yes, hacks are generally not the best way to accomplish things in an emulator. However, the problems that these hacks solve were not solvable in any other way. PS2 games were never meant to be upscaled and because of that when we do several problems occur in many games. Some of these problems are unavoidable and require workarounds to fix.
The first one that we will take a look at is the Align sprite hack. For years, anyone who has played certain Namco games in PCSX2 was stuck either using native resolution or using very specific X resolutions, the largest being 1200. The reason was that if you upscaled in any other way you would end up with these nasty black vertical lines in the image. The reasons behind that are complicated, but can be summed up by saying “It's simply the result of how the game engine does things.” However, thanks to Gregory we don't have to deal with this issue any more! Now games like Soul Calibur II and III, Tekken, and Ace Combat can be upscaled as much as you want without issues. Simply enable the Align sprite hack in GSdx hardware hacks and voil*! No more black lines! Games known to be corrected by it include:
Tekken series
Soul Calibur series
Street Fighter
Death by Degrees
Ace Combat series

Sony studios boss Shuhei Yoshida has said that the difficulty in explaining exactly what PlayStation TV is has led to the streaming devices’ failure.
"It didn't capture the consumers' imagination," he told Game Informer. "It's a hard concept to explain. You could say it's a mini-console, it's a video streaming device. If we say it's a mini-console, like other mini-consoles, people expect a better device like PS4 or Xbox One. It's short in that delivery. When you say it's a video streaming device, there are other devices with higher def video.
“It has some unique things like remote play of PS4 games. It can do many things, but it's not easy to say this one thing is extremely good. I think that's the reason we were not able to convince people at the original price."
The machine launched at £84.99 in the UK but can now widely be found for between £40-£60.
There was huge excitement about the device upon its unveiling in late 2013. However, a little over a year later US retailers began handing the device out for free with some purchases. Its UK RRP was dropped earlier this year.

PCSX2 Git (2015/06/21) is compiled. PCSX2 is an open source PlayStation 2 (PS2) emulator for the Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems. With the most recent versions, many PS2 games are playable (although speed limitations have made play-to-completion tests for many games impractical), and several games are claimed to have full functionality.

Play! Git (2015/06/21) is complied. Play! is an attempt at creating an emulator for the PlayStation 2 (PS2) console on the Windows platform. It is currently written in C/C++. It uses an instruction caching/recompilation scheme to achieve better performance while emulating the CPU.

It appears that some European PSN users are having trouble downloading content at anything approaching an acceptable speed.
Anecdotal evidence emerged earlier this week in the approach to the release of Batman: Arkham Knight, with reports of 99+ hour download times for the 50GB title, even on the best of internet connections.
The problems also left many wanting to download the recently released Driveclub PS+ Edition having to wait several hours, despite the relatively light 2GB file size.
“We are aware of reports that some users are experiencing slower then usual download speeds from the PlayStation Store,” Sony said in its support forums, as spotted by Dealspwn. “This has been reported to our network team for investigation. Please keep an eye on this thread for updates.”

Sony's PlayStation Vita handheld has surpassed 4m sales in Japan.
DualShockers reports on the milestone, which was reached through the combined sales of standard PlayStation Vita devices and the PS Vita TV microconsole.
According to the report, the PS Vita TV has sold 166,165 units life-to-date in Japan, and Vita has sold 3.8m systems in the country.
For the sake of comparison, Nintendo's 3DS handheld has sold 18.8m units life-to-date in the region. 3DS initially launched in February 2011, while Vita launched in December of that year.

Europe's PlayStation Plus offering of free games will now be refreshed on the first Tuesday of every month.
That means EU users won't have to wait an extra day for the usual Wednesday PS Store update.
Tuesday is the day that the PS Store updates in North America, and when PS Plus games have always been refreshed there.
"Hey folks. As of this month, Plus games go live in both EU and US on the first tuesday of the month (no longer Wednesday in EU)," wrote EU PlayStation blog manager Fred Durst.
"The first Tuesday in July is 7th July, hence why the games aren't launching this week."
There's no word yet on which games will be offered for July, although details are usually announced the Wednesday prior to their release (so, two days time).
Xbox owners next month get Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag and So Many Me on Xbox One, plus Plants vs. Zombies and Gears of War 3 on Xbox 360.

Subscription service PlayStation Plus is five years old. As an anniversary present, and a thank you, Sony will send a gift to people who subscribed from the beginning - from 29th June 2010.
That gift has been revealed as a personalised print, according to people on NeoGAF and Reddit who qualified. "Your print will be unique to you and show everything you've achieved as a PlayStation Plus member," Sony's email said.To qualify you must have been an uninterrupted member of PlayStation Plus since launch, 29th June 2010, clarified European PlayStation blog manager Fred Dutton.PS Plus was Sony's foray into the paid membership space that had been so lucrative for Microsoft and Xbox Live.
