The games industry moves pretty fast, and there's a tendency for all involved to look constantly to what's next without so much worrying about what came before. That said, even an industry so entrenched in the now can learn from its past. So to refresh our collective memory and perhaps offer some perspective on our field's history, GamesIndustry.biz runs this monthly feature highlighting happenings in gaming from exactly a decade ago.
The power of imagination
Being a top executive for a platform holder means putting a happy face on things, even when the business isn't going great or the public narrative surrounding your system turns negative. I get that, and I have a certain amount of sympathy for people who are told to go out in public and polish a turd with a smile on their face, particularly when that turd is not of their own making. But during the early years of the PlayStation 3, Sony execs were taking things to another level.
First of all, they didn't have a lot of work with. The PS3 trailed the Xbox 360 to market by a year, cost hundreds of dollars more, and its multiplatform games tended to run worse than their counterparts on Microsoft's machine. By this point in the cycle, Nintendo had sold 45 million Wiis and Microsoft moved 28 million Xbox 360s. Sony wasn't shouting its PS3 installed base from the rooftops, but adding up their quarterly reports to that point nets a total of 19.2 million systems sold. Respectable, but not where people expected it to be given Sony's utter dominance during the PS2 generation. Oh, and PS3 hardware sales were declining.
In short, Sony Computer Entertainment head Kaz Hirai didn't have a lot to work with when it came time to talk to the press about the PS3's position in the marketplace. But he wasn't about to throw in the towel. Even though Sony wouldn't adopt "make.believe" as its corporate slogan until a bit later in 2009, Hirai had already embraced the new mindset. He wasn't going to let little things like social norms or respect for himself and the people he was talking to get in the way of his job. Instead, Hirai was going to insist that PlayStation was still the "official" industry leader in an interview with the no-quotation-marks-needed Official PlayStation Magazine.
"This is not meant in terms of numbers, or who's got the biggest install base, or who's selling most in any particular week or month, but I'd like to think that we continue official leadership in this industry," Hirai said.
So how was Sony the leader? Well by Hirai's reckoning, Nintendo operates in "a different world" and its video game console was not a competitor with Sony's. The Wii catered to a different audience than the PS3, so let's be gracious and give him that one. Now about the Xbox 360?
"And with the Xbox - again, I can't come up with one word to fit," Hirai explained. "You need a word that describes something that lacks longevity."

We are now in the first month of 2019, and guess what that means? Square Enix‘s Kingdom Hearts III is now approaching. But before Kingdom Hearts III walks into the spotlight for its release day, the co-director has something to say about the featured Disney‘s universes in the game.
Kingdom Hearts III features a variety of Disney worlds. However, Tai Yusue, the co-director of Kingdom Hearts III who directs the game along with Tetsuya Nomura confirmed that the game has no more surprised Disney Worlds to revealed. This information revealed as he spoke to Newsweek.
“We’re not planning on revealing any surprise Disney worlds, but these new properties gave us a chance to come up with a lot of new and fresh ideas, that there will certain be a lot of surprises with the gameplay,”
He also explained on the newer Disney worlds included such as Tangled and Frozen. Both of these have made an appearance in the promotions to the game. He commented on how diverse the characters that gave them plenty of options.
There are a lot of good, logical reasons for picking new Disney properties, like appealing to a wider audience; but honestly, the main reason we picked new worlds such as Frozen and Tangledwas because they excited us,” Yasue said when asked why worlds like those from Frozen and Tangled. “In terms of gameplay, there’s a lot of unique and crazy things you can do with a snowman that keeps on talking after having his head removed from his body, or a princess with super long golden hair.
For the overview of the game, see it below.

If you’re interested in seeing older consoles pushed to their limits, then you’ve probably seen a recurring piece of software used for this purpose.
This piece of software is the Bad Apple PV which is a video (with sound) of the Bad Apple song which is part of the Touhou project. Among available ports of this PV, we find one for the https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qRdGhHEoj3o"]NES, SNES, Genesis, Chromaryu, the PSVita got its own port of Bad Apple which runs smoothly and obviously has audio.
On the other hand, Rinnegatamante has ported yet another open-source game to the PSVita and this one’s called Meritous. This game, which was ported to the Vita from its Switch port, is a dungeon crawling game in which you explore dungeons while killing enemies and listening to a pretty nice soundtrack. This is done in order to find answers about a secret, which has to do with a place of unlimited power, that lies hidden in the planet where the game takes place. If you wish to play it on your PSVita, you can get it from Vita Homebrew Browser (VHBB) as it’s available on VitaDB and you can check out its thread on Wololo /talk for more information!

Snake is an all-time classic and obviously, the Vita has its own homebrew port by Grzybojad.
However, its developer thought that it needed a few more features and so released version 1.2 to add some more stuff to this simple yet enjoyable game. These features include:
- Touchscreen support in both the game itself (for controlling the snake) and the menus
- With this update, the snake follows your finger so you can play Snake a bit differently
- Unfortunately, there isn’t a way to disable touch controls so the game might become unplayable if your PSVita’s touchscreen is a bit defective
- Ability to change the apple’s look from the Options menu. Available looks include the Nokia pellet, a battery, a regular apple, a brighter apple and a Sonic-like ring
- Some small tweaks such as an update to the “How To Play” text and some visual tweaks to the menus
Like Meritous, Snake is available on VHBB ( VitaDB Link) so you can grab it from there or from the in-line link above. The gyroscope on the Vita is usually a forgotten hardware component but with Frying Master, it can actually be used to fry some stuff!
vitaSnake aside, the PSVita also got another piece of homebrew this week and it’s called Frying Master. Frying Master is a Unity-based game, by Reddit user “LazyOx199“, which allows you to use the gyroscope (or analogue sticks+buttons) to cook up stuff in a frying pan. Right now, the game is still work in progress and you can only cook meat patties and square piece of steak but it’s unique and fun nonetheless!
Conclusion
All these homebrew releases in such a short period of time are a nice reminder that PSVita homebrew releases aren’t over yet and that development is still going on. If you want to look at other interesting stuff, you can check out Nikita Krapivin’s recent work on getting a PC screen streaming solution with input to work on the PSVita through the PSM framework! Obviously, you should still use Moonlight if you have a supported Nvidia GPU as the PSM app only works @ around 5FPS.
As for now, you can start the year on a better note with the above releases because messing around with homebrew is always fun! via http://wololo.net/2019/01/04/recent-...frying-master/

For PSVita hacking, 2018 ended with a bang thanks to Team Molecule’s revelations at 35C3 and this brought about a new era of Vita hacking, an era in which every security measure could be bypassed. Thanks to this, the memory card authentication routine has been busted and PSM Dev apps have been decrypted; and for further good news, TheFlow stated that he plans to release a hack for FW 3.69 this year!
On a more technical front, the last few days brought us some interesting developments with the recently released decryption tools (and information) from Team Molecule.
One of these developments is that Xerpi was able to reverse engineer the F00D module that does memory card authentication, with help from motoharu who did most crypto reverse engineering. The reason why it’s relevant to regular end-users is that, with this information, it is now possible to create USB PSVita memory card readers for use with PCs. The main advantage of this is that you could easily copy data to/from multiple memory cards if and that if your PSVita dies, you can still extract Another interesting development is that now, all applications ever released for the PSVita can be decrypted. Thanks to this, CelesteBlue and SilicaAndPina have been decrypting older applications that Sony stopped supporting some time ago.
Among decrypted applications, we can find:
your own data from it. As of right now, there are no memory card readers available but Xerpi hopes that some manufacturing firm will start producing them on the cheap. To get more information, check out Xerpi’s recent commits to this GitHub branch. promises hack for FW 3.69 this year
Last October, TheFlow mentioned having a second exploit chain for the PSVita that could achieve HENKaku on FW 3.69.
While this is good news, it doesn’t mean that you should go update your PSVita console to FW 3.69 right now as nothing has been released of now. Furthermore, FW 3.69 doesn’t grant you any extra abilities as FW 3.69 games are playable on lower FWs thanks to compatibility packs so there’s nothing to gain by being on the latest FW.
As always, you shouldn’t nag TheFlow about a release date on Twitter (as he’d most likely just block you, which you’d deserve) and wait for further news on the matter before updating your Vita/PSTV.

The “method” that allows piracy on PS4 firmware 6.20 leverages a glitch in the PS4 “Primary console” setup mechanism.
Sony lets you use multiple consoles with the same PSN account, in theory to let you access your games from wherever you are in the world. However, only your “primary” console can play your PSN games without being connected to the internet.
The glitch revealed today basically lets you activate a PS4 as your primary console, then deactivate it while keeping the benefits of playing downloaded games while offline. Repeat the steps multiple times with a single PSN account loaded with games, and you have the possibility for mass scale piracy.
There are of course significant drawbacks to the technique: first of all, it is very likely that Sony will patch it in the days, if not the hours (given that it requires online activation of the console) to come. Secondly, you’ll need to find a very good friend, with a PSN account loaded with games, who is willing to share their account credentials with you at least once, in order for you to get that person’s games. Last but not least, it is very likely that Sony will take action on accounts that have suspicious activity, including activating/deactivating a large number of PS4s in a short amount of time.
So far, the scene’s reaction to the announce has been pretty lukewarm. Given the risks, it’s probably not worth it for your typical PS4 owner. It’s also very likely that some black market shops all over the worlds had been using this technique or a similar one to sell PS4s loaded with pirated games, something that reminds us of the “Brazilian jailbreak” of a few years ago. So multiple people have said they are basically not impressed.
Long story short, we definitely do not recommend that you even attempt this technique: you run a huge risk of getting your PSN account, and associated hardware permanently banned from the PSN if you try. Nevertheless, those willing to take the risk can follow the steps described below, as taken directly from the video.

In their talk titled “Viva la Vita Vida” that took place less than 24 hours ago, PSVita hackers/developers Yifan Lu and Davee which are part of Team Molecule talked about the following:
- Their progress up to now on PSVita hacking
- They discussed the Vita’s security architecture and components of the Vita’s SoC.
- In their talk titled “Viva la Vita Vida” that took place less than 24 hours ago, PSVita hackers/developers Yifan Lu and Davee which are part of Team Molecule talked about the following:
- Their progress up to now on PSVita hacking
- They discussed the Vita’s security architecture and components of the Vita’s SoC.The first part of the talk, which was done by Davee, was about software techniques when it came to pwning F00D and he discussed the Octopus Exploit.
- In a very simplified way, the Octopus Exploit works by passing bytes into the F00D processor and having it tell you whether the byte is correct or not. Through this way, Team Molecule were able to dump the secure kernel of the PSVita which helped them in documenting and further hacking the device
- The second part of the talk, which was done by Yifan Lu, discussed hardware hacking techniques and mostly focused about voltage glitching. Voltage glitching is when you momentarily introduce a voltage change into electronics in order to change the result of logic gates thus creating a software bug through hardware
- Voltage glitching was used in order to bypass the bootloader size check (0xDE blocks) and this enabled Team Molecule to gain further insight about the bootloader/BootROM as they got its SHA-256 hash!
- Unfortunately, the BootROM didn’t contain any keys
- Later on, Yifan Lu went on to reveal that the bootloader (F00D) key was found and it was a repeating byte
- Apparently, the key was left there accidentally but it wasn’t noticed when retail builds of the bootloader were shipped
- This key is what protects every content key in the system

When HENkaku was released, everybody was told to update to FW 3.60 and older firmwares faded away into irrelevancy especially after Adrenaline was released. While FW 3.5x was happy in its grave, CelesteBlue thought otherwise and brought it back up from the grave with MemeKaku!
What is MemeKaku? What’s the current state of HENkaku on FW 3.55/7?
MemeKaku, by CelesteBlue, is a backport of HENkaku to older PSVita firmwares namely FW 3.55 and 3.57. HENkaku,Team Molecule, is a native hack for the PSVita which allows you to run homebrew, use plugins, install custom themes and much much more.
As of right now, MemeKaku is at the following state:
- You can run homebrew and plugins with it
- Some homebrew/plugins may refuse to work properly as they may use offsets specific to certain firmware versions
- Loading decrypted content from ux0:/patch is possible
- Enso is currently not supported but CelesteBlue said it could be ported to all FWs lower than 3.65
- Enso is a hack that lets you run unsigned code at boot without any user interaction. It functions like a full untether in iOS jailbreaking terms
- Some plugins like Custom Warning and Custom Boot Splash don’t work
- Many other things may not work or require slight adjustments to work with firmwares 3.55/3.57
- Information about the state of MemeKaku came from this page which is maintained by TheRadziu
Is there anything else planned?
Support for older firmware versions is coming soon so don’t go update your PSVita running an older firmware just yet!
Obviously, CelesteBlue’s tinkering with his newly acquired dev kit doesn’t stop here and he’s plans to support more firmware versions in the future. Most notably, he said that FW 3.51 support is the next thing in mind for MemeKaku and that FW 3.18 support will also be coming soon.
Other than HENkaku on lower firmwares, CelesteBlue’s dev kit may also bring about other noteworthy stuff on the PSVita so make sure you stay tuned for any updates through his Twitter account found here. If you don’t know who he is, CelesteBlue is a veteran PSVita developer who worked on getting FW 3.67+ games to work on FW 3.60/5, contributed to LOLIcon (a plugin that lets you overclock your Vita to 494MHz) and much more. He’s also given some contributions to the PS4 hacking scene.

Postal Vita is a source port of Postal that was delivered to the PSVita by Rinnegatamante from the Switch port by MVG. From my brief testing session, I can say that port works pretty well and has the following features:
◾Smooth frame rates with a wide-screen aspect ratio so that almost all of the Vita’s screen is filled up
◾Working audio and voices so you can enjoy the sound of bullets, sirens and screaming that’s all over the game
◾A comfortable control scheme that uses both analogue sticks for control◾If you didn’t figure it out immediately, the right analogue stick is used both for aiming and shooting
◾The extra levels found in Super Postal and Special Delivery work properly so you can wreak some havoc elsewhere if you fancy
◾You get the full main-menu of Postal so you can get the full Postal experience like you did back in the day
As of right now, saving doesn’t work as you’re thrown back into the pause menu when you try to save a game. That being said, there’s still plenty to enjoy so don’t let the inability to save prevent you from going postal!
Postal is not a free game so the data files aren’t included. However, you can acquire them for the nominal price of $/€2 off Steam or GOG. After getting the game, you have to install it and copy the “res” and “title” folders to ux0:/data/Postal. I have personally tried this port with files from the GOG version so I can confirm that they work out-of-the-box.

91.6 million PS4s have now been sold worldwide, Sony has announced.
It means the console has shifted ten million units since the last update in July, and 18 million over the past 12 months.
It's not quite as high as the 20.2 million reported in 2017, but it's still an impressive figure for a machine in its fifth year on the market. Indeed, it's the second biggest year the platform has enjoyed in its lifetime so far.
5.6 million PS4s were sold between November 19th and December 31st alone, along with 50.7 million games. In total, 876 million PS4s games have been sold globally.
The big PS4 exclusive of Christmas was Spider-Man, which had sold more than nine million copies as of November 25th, 2018.
"We are also happy to announce that the monthly active users of PlayStation Network continues to show strong growth, and has surpassed 90 million as of end of November 2018," stated Sony Interactive Entertainment president and CEO John Kodera.
"I would like to express my deepest gratitude to our passionate community around the globe, and our partners, for helping us achieve these milestones. This year, we will bring more enhanced experiences to our fans along with a highly anticipated lineup of games that are only possible on PS4. As we look toward the next PS4 milestone, SIE will continue to evolve, and we will further expand the platform to deliver the best interactive entertainment experiences to the world."

Sega‘s long-running Yakuza series will get a remastered version for PlayStation 4. Last May 2018 issue of Weekly Famitsu (Thanks, Gematsu!), Sega has reported that Yakuza 3, 4 and 5 will get the remastered versions for PlayStation 4 in Japan.
After Ryu ga Gotoku 3 Remaster or Yakuza 3 Remaster released in Japan last August 9th, the fourth installment to the Yakuza series is now getting its remastered as Ryu ga Gotoku 4 Densetsu wo Tsugumono Remaster (龍が如く4 伝説を継ぐもの) or Yakuza 4 Remastered is releasing January 17th in Japan and in Asia with Chinese subtitles. Ryu ga Gotoku 4 Densetsu wo Tsugumono Remaster is action-adventure video game developed by Ryu ga Gotoku Studios and published by Sega. First, it was released for the PlayStation 3 console on March 18, 2010. Followed by the Western localizations for the same console in March 2011.
The game is set one year after the events of Yakuza 3. Like most of the action in the Yakuza series, it takes place in Komurocho which resembles the red-light district of Shinjuku. The entertainment district is about to get a blood bath. The main protagonist, the Dragon of Dojima, Kazuma Kiryu along with the three rising dragons, Masayoshi Tanimura, Shun Akiyama, and Taiga Saejima will go to the impossible trials to find their destiny.
Last October 2018 issue of Famitsu, Sega has also announced the changes to the character of Masayoshi Tanimura. It was announced that the voice actor responsible for Masayoshi Tanimura, Hiroki Narimiya, has retired from the entertainment industry. With this, Sega has changed the character model because the character was based on Hiroki Narimiya himself. So, the new voice actor of Masayoshi Tanimura is Toshiki Masuda for the remaster.

Mnemosyne, Tethys, Theia, Phoebe, Rhea, Themis, Oceanus, Hyperion, Coeus, Cronus, Crius, and Iapetus…
Since the dawn of the world; these twelve powerful beings known as Titans have ruled during the mythical Golden Age, and humanity worshipped them as the primordial deities. During the millennia many poets and philosophers wrote poems and treaties about them; some can be found still in our age while some others are lost for the eternity. During the previous century a lot of scholars have argued about their origins and cults but until now no one of them was unable to provide a definitive answer, this means that many facts about the Titans are still shrouded in mystery. Despite several hundreds of theories, one thing is certain; they became popular figures which are commonly portrayed in a lot of different opuses. For example in books like Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy, movies like Clash of the Titans, and video games such as God of War series!
The majority of them described the Titans like beings indifferent to the fates of humans, but is it really so? If you want to know what mean be one of them, then you’ve found the title for you. Wear the VRHead, turn on the PlayStation 4, and get ready for a new adventure of epic proportions with Megalith!
Starring Aurora, Cipher, Hunter, Taur, and Tundra, the younger yet most powerful representatives of this millennia-old offspring, this legendary game sees you as the last standing force to protect the world of your worshippers.
Megalith for PSVR offers a uniquely divine approach towards a first-person champion shooter with heavy MOBA elements is ready to enthrall players at the top of the world-renowned Mount Othrys which is historically considered as the base of the Titans. Even if provided with phenomenal cosmic powers, any help is always welcome; control your army of minions and place them strategically in the battlefield, once all is set they will give you a big hand to crush the enemy’s core, which is the main power source of your species. The more you’ll proceed, the more skills you’ll unlock! With unique super-powers and strengths; choose the Titan best suited to your playstyle, and you can turn yourself into a god even without shout SHAZAM!
If you prefer a fast approach to the battle using rapid lighting strikes then Aurora is the best for you; if your battle style is to stay far from the enemies then the Cipher’s bounce launcher will be extremely useful; fire weapons aren’t stylish enough? Well, no problem because with Hunter you can hit the enemies using the good old lethal bow & arrow set; anyway, if you think is much better watch the opponents straight in the eye, Taur and his mighty claws are the perfect way to protect the humans; while do you think that defense is the best strategy? Then Tundra will give you great satisfaction.
Whoever you choose, bear in mind that fast hands and quick reflexes are very important for your survival!
Combining a legendary action flair, an epic comic-inspired art style, and a deep strategic system, Megalith for PSVR is the digital-only VR game you’ve been waiting for!

On New Year’s Eve, Team Molecule revealed the PSVita’s F00D key which effectively opened the doors to the remaining PSVita security barriers. However, we didn’t fully know what the end-user could get out of their information and tools but now, that’s changed with the release of reF00D!
What is reF00D?
reF00D, by CelesteBlue, dots_tb and Princess of Sleeping, is a kernel plugin that does away with FW requirements of games/apps. It allows you to run games requiring a higher FW than the one you’re currently running, such as FW 3.69 or 3.68 titles on 3.60/3.65, through realtime game decryption using keys.
#LetMaiDie , a dumper to allow 3.67+ games to run on FW 3.60/5, in the works!
reF00D won’t be killing compatibility packs as they have some advantages of their own, like easier game modding
Other than this, it also bypasses the F00D app blacklist thus allowing depreciated software that Sony decided to revoke, like PSM Dev Unity, to run on newer firmwares that it was never intended to be run on. Furthermore, it lets you run different versions of system applications on your Vita such as running the FW 3.69 web browser on FW 3.65/3.60.
Now, you’re probably thinking that reF00D is a complete alternative to the #LetMaiDie compatibility packs but that’s not fully accurate. Compatibility packs, generated by ***Dec, will apparently still be made since they provide quicker game start times and are decrypted thus allowing for easier modding. Staying on the subject, it’s important to state that reF00D also lets you create compatibility packs, which you could use with rePatch, by holding the L trigger when you open games. These will be stored in ux0:/rePatch
That being said, compatibility packs contain copyrighted content so reF00D brings the advantage of letting you play games that require a higher FW without having to obtain decrypted modules/binaries in a way that’s technically illegal.
Will this still work if Sony releases FW 3.70+? How do I get it?
According to CelesteBlue, the plugin will temporarily cease function with the latest titles (games requiring a firmware newer than 3.69) if Sony decides to change both the NPDRM and SPKG key.
That being said, this isn’t very likely to happen especially when we consider how long it took them to release FW 3.69 after H-Encore was released but even then, Sony didn’t change the aforementioned keys. However, if Sony decides to change the keys, all it would take would be to decrypt the PUP file of the FW update and grab the keys from it as doing such things is now possible thanks to the aforementioned information released by Team Molecule.
To install reF00D on your device, you have to do the following:
1.Download the plugin and the keys from here
2.Copy the SKPRX file you download to ux0:/tai or ur0:/tai depending on which directory your taiHEN plugins are in
3.Place the keys file you downloaded in ur0:/tai EVEN if the plugin is in ux0:/tai
4.Open your taiHEN configuration file and add the plugin under the *KERNEL heading
5.Enjoy running FW 3.69 games and revoked stuff on your PSVita!

A notable feature of the PlayStation 4 is Remote Play and thankfully, Sony allows you to use a PC with it as well. This is all well and good but the program has this one flaw of requiring an internet connection to work but thanks to MysteryDash’s patches, this artificial requirement can be waived!
Offline PS4 Remote Play, by MysteryDash, is a piece of software for Windows computers that patches the official Remote Play application from Sony in order to make it work without an active internet connection. This allows you to use Remote Play wherever you are provided you have a power supply, a computer running Windows, a PlayStation 4 and a local internet connection.
For example, it would be useful if your home’s internet connection stops working due to issues from the ISP-side; in this situation, your home router would still work so you still have a LAN to which you can connect your PS4. Another use case is if you go on holiday to somewhere that doesn’t have a TV and want to use your laptop as the PS4’s screen. With this software, all you need for Remote Play is to connect your PS4 directly to a laptop via an Ethernet cable!
In recent days, MysteryDash updated his Offline PS4 Remote Play patching software to version 3.0 which brings along:
◾ A rename to Offline PS4 Remote Play Auto-Patcher as it automatically builds patches for any version you throw at it
This update makes the program as simple as it can get as it’s only made up of a single button that does the work for you!
◾Support for version 2.7.0.7270 of PS4 Remote Play, which doesn’t require you to log into PSN to work, for Windows which is the latest version

PlayStation 4 owners can now play Rocket League matches against Switch and Xbox players, Psyonix has announced.
The long awaited "cross-play" feature went live in the PS4 version of Rocket League yesterday, allowing competitive play with Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and Steam for the first time.
"Today's announcement is an important one for us here at Psyonix," the company said in a statement. "Because we know how much our community has wanted full cross-platform support for quite some time.
"It's because of you, our fans, and our generous partners on all systems and services that have made this possible in the first place."
Psyonix has been vocal about its desire to see "full" cross-platform play since at least June 2017, when it became clear that Sony was unwilling to be as open to the concept as Microsoft and Nintendo.

Last Tokyo Game Show 2017, the well-known game publisher, Square Enix, has revealed a new game during Sony Interactive Entertainment‘s conference called Left Alive for PlayStation 4. This is an upcoming shooter video game and it’s coming to Japan this February 28 and in Western regions this March 05.
Watch the Tokyo Game Show 2017 announcement trailer below.
This game has collaborated the veteran developers in the industry such as Toshifumi Nabehsmina of Armored Core series, Yoji Shinkawa of Metal Gear series and Takayuki Yanase of Ghost in the Shell: Arise, Mobile Suit Gundam 00, and Xenoblade Chronicles X.
The game sets in the Front Mission universe and the time setting is between Front Mission 5 and Front Mission Evolved. You follow the three main protagonists as they are in the middle of the war-destructed Russian city known as the Novo Slava. These three protagonists must survive as they must act accordingly to the situation and act independently. The main objective is to survive in the world full of danger.
We are now entering the future dystopian war as massive power bloc and mechas are doing the fight. In this game, you will experience the massive power gap between man and machines as you face off in pulse-pounding encounters. Either you must face the armed troops, armored vehicles, and towering mechs. If you want to use weapons or fight them with stealth and wit, it’s your choice. Unveil the story behind this devastating war in the perspective of the three main protagonists. Of course, as you go along, you will progress through the game. However, even though you will experience multiple story paths, your actions and your choices do matter as you will decide that might lead with desperate consequences.

In recent times, the PSVita has only been receiving minor updates that don’t do much except add some security fixes and remove features. Now, Sony released FW 3.70 which is yet another minor update and interestingly enough, it doesn’t even change NpDrm (game decryption) keys!
As far as the regular end-user is concerned, FW 3.70 barely changes anything as most of its changes are all under the hood. From SilicaAndPina’s comparison between files found in the 3.69 and 3.70 PUP file, the following saw changes:
- The Calendar application and its background although VitaTricks didn’t get patched so it’s anyone guess as to what Sony did.
- The Near application, which was discontinued on July 31, 2017
- Some things having to do with the kernel, Twitter and the store checkout plugin
- The f00d key was apparently changed although Yifan Lu still appears to have been able to access the secure kernel’s plain text and get the master key which means that Sony’s measures didn’t change much when it comes to hacking.

Back in the day, the PSP was a pretty big hit with many gamers even though its successor, the PSVita, saw less success. Nowadays, its graphics are a bit dated but it’s seen a revival in popularity through emulation and now, the PlayStation Classic got its own port of the go-to PSP emulator named PPSSPP!
According to reports on Reddit and a spreadsheet on Google Drive, the emulator runs decently and the following titles seem to run well:
◾Patapon
◾LocoRoco
◾Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX
◾An unspecified Burnout game
◾ Crisis Core – Final Fantasy 7 from a YouTube video
◾According to Swingflip, PPSSPP’s performance on the PSC is better than that found on the SNES Classic or Raspberry Pi 3 Model B
To grab the PPSSPP emulator, which is provided as a RetroArch core, simply head over to this link and download the ZIP file provided. You might need to enable “Block Transfer GPU” to remove graphical issues in certain games. Some titles, like Tekken 6, do not work so your mileage may vary.

As of right now, BleemSync only supports FAT32 and EXT4-formatted pen drives and while these are enough for most use-cases, they aren’t an ideal selection especially when you consider that most will use FAT32. To remedy this, BleemSync 1.0 will also support NTFS and exFAT which are vastly superior file systems that have less major issues that can also provide better performance!
BleemSync 1.0 is set to release in the near future but it already missed its ‘next week’ ETA that Swingflip gave on January 7, 2019. It’s important to note that FAT32 will still have to be used for the first boot of BleemSync but afterwards, you’ll be able to use a better filesystem.
Conclusion
Undoubtedly, the most anticipated thing in the PlayStation Classic community right now is BleemSync 1.0 but even if you’re eagerly waiting for it, the best thing to do is to stay put and wait. After all, BleemSync 1.0 will be a pretty major release so perhaps waiting a bit more in order to get a stable release with few to no issues isn’t so bad after all!
