Seems that PS3 Hackers arent taking the hacking of Sony too happily, SKFU posted this on his blog:
To whom it may concern.
Guys could you please stop these lame DDOS attacks against SONY? There are other places to play at for 14 years old scriptkiddies out there. Checkout World Of Warcraft lol.
Seriously, you guys are the most embarrassing "hacker group" currently existing. You drag the whole serious scene into the mud with your semi wannabe professional braggart style.
Stay at your /b with your pedophile pictures or go to school and learn what real hacking is. You compare yourself with graf_chokolo and geohot on one level? C'mon...
Such guys as you should be banned forever from the internet. Access allowed only to trading card games for you, sorry.

Coldbird updates again news concerning the custom firmware for the PSP:
B4 is nearing completion, only one single known bug remains… and we are making good progress on fixing it!
School is however keeping me rather busy and even this blogpost was posted in my 5 minute school break.
And before someone asks: no estimate release date will be given, but we should be done pretty soon.
Update: 7th April 2011
Sheesh… I fixed that “Last Bug” just a minute ago… and guess what, half a minute later a new bug report comes flying in from one of our Betatesters concerning “Normal ISO Mode”.
Guess this will be our true “Last Bug” to fix… as for me, the PSP Go Hibernation High Memory Bug is now fixed, and I’m heading to bed, having a test @ school tomorrow, wish me luck guys.

News via http://wololo.net/wagic/2011/04/06/p...s-compo-entry/
Duende68′s entry for the PSP Genesis competition is original, to say the least. Following the controversial trend on the effects of some audio frequencies on the brain, this application allows you to play audio files that are supposed to create effects similar to that of drugs…
Do you believe in that kind of stuff? The only way to make sure is to give it a try…. As far as I can tell, there is no danger for your health (unless you listen to the music too loud, but that’s another problem ), but try at your own responsibility (and make sure to get your parents approval if you’re not an adult).

News via http://wololo.net/wagic/2011/04/06/w...r-translators/
I usually don’t announce Beta versions on the blog, but this time I’m changing our release flow a little bit, in order to gather some attention from translators. Wagic is available in several languages (English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, Italian), but our language files are usually not up to date compared to the latest code.
This time, in order to do the correct thing, I’m calling all translators who would like to help, to participate in the beta, update the language files, and send them back to us. This way, the official release will have the best possible translations.
We expect the beta to be extremely short. If you want to help find bugs, or if you want to help with the translation, please join us!
The Beta is open to anyone who is registered to the Wagic forums.
This new version of Wagic, among many other things, adds more than 1000 unique cards, bringing the total of unique supported card to 7675 (or more than 13600 if you include reprints)
Get the Beta here, thank in advance for your feedback and your help!

You've shot a man in every place, but you've run out of locations in which to shoot him. Fortunately, there's no greater marriage of domains and bullet-riddled defeat than in Killzone 3, which is set to receive a downloadable map pack after tomorrow's European PSN update. North American PSN users can expect it on Tuesday, April 12.
The "Steel Rain" DLC contains "Junkyard," a Guerrilla Warfare map that'll amass even more detritus from demolished jetpacks and toppled exoskeletons, and "Stahl Arms," a Warzone map set in a Helghan weapons manufacturing plant. Between the two battlefields, you're getting a basic glimpse at the dooming, doomed life of a gun.
The two-pack will be free to PlayStation Plus subscribers during the first month of availability, and will otherwise cost €4,99 ($4.99 on the US store).

April 7th, 2011, 00:22 Posted By: wraggster
Taking to the US and EU PlayStation Forums en masse, PlayStation 3 users continue to report connectivity issues with PlayStation Network today. Starting with the by hacker group "Anonymous" earlier this week, PSN has been experiencing sporadic issues over the past few days -- Sony characterized the outages as "intermittent" earlier this week, and promised that "engineers are working to restore and maintain the services." As of the time of publishing, we have been unable to connect to PSN today through several staff accounts.
According to a Sony EU forum moderator, a trio of error codes could be showing up for affected users (80710092, 80710D36 and 8071053D), though little else is offered in way of information. "We are currently looking into this and I will update the thread as more information becomes available," the post notes.
Additionally, PlayStation Lifestyle reports that a splinter group of Anonymous -- identified as "SonyRecon" -- is apparently going after specific Sony executives, seeking to reveal "names, phone numbers, pictures, home addresses, email, internet protocol address, family members and other data." CEO Sir Howard Stringer is said to be one of the group's targets, among others.
As previously detailed, Anonymous launched the attacks on Sony earlier this week as a sign of solidarity with hackers George "GeoHot" Hotz and Alexander "Graf_Chokolo" Egorenkov, both of whom are currently in litigation with Sony.

PlayStation 3 users are getting two exclusive Virtua Tennis 4 demos, publisher SEGA has announced.
According to the PlayStation Blog, Sony patrons will be able to sample the game's new World Tour mode from 13th April, with a PlayStation Move demo then arriving "as the real tennis season reaches its peak."
This is a second kick in the shins for Xbox 360 fuzzball fans in as many weeks. Late last monthSEGA revealed that the PS3 version of its forthcoming tennis sequel would include exclusive mini-games and playable veterans.
Still, Xbox 360 users, it could be worse. At least you're getting the game on the same day as PlayStation 3 types - 29th April. A PC version is in the works too but won't be ready until the summer.

There are new sections you'll notice when you tootle down the virtual aisles today. There's a top-level Demos category; a Franchises section to group all content by, say, Call of Duty; a Charts section for the most popular forms of all Store content; easier to find Themes and Avatars; and a more organised PlayStation Plus area.
Those changes are presented with a new cosmetic flourish.
As for actual Store content, highlights include a SOCOM: Special Forces multiplayer beta, ooh, as well as a MotorStorm: Apocalypse single-player demo.
Also arriving are new games Dungeon Hunter: Alliance and Red Faction spin-off Battelgrounds. There's a free trial of online shooter MAG up for grabs, too.
PS3 DLC of note includes The Lost Hobo King add-on for Stacking and the Steel Rain Map Pack for Killzone 3.
Decent Monster Hunter clone Gods Eater Burst can be bought and downloaded on PSP, too.

April 6th, 2011, 23:55 Posted By: wraggster
Sony is billing April as its "biggest" PlayStation Plus month yet.
One reason for this is the return of the 15 months of PlayStation Plus membership for the price of 12 months (£39.99), wrote the European PlayStation blog.
Another reason is Red Faction: Battlegrounds - the twin-stick Destruction Derby-like Red Faction spin-off - being one of April's free games.
Another reason is that this month PlayStation Plus members can exclusively join the inFamous 2 UGC beta. Emails will be sent on 12th and 19th April.
Another reason is that today's Killzone 3 DLC - the Steel Rain pack - appears to be free to PS Plus members.
Another reason is that there's 75 per cent off Hothead's two Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness RPGs.
In May, PSN game Streets of Rage 2 will be free, as will be PSOne game James Pond 2: Robocod. There's also an enticing day-one 20 per cent discount for Beyond Good & Evil HD, which was fantastic on Xbox Live Arcade.

Sniper Elite V2, a sequel to the 2005 game that had players picking off foes in WWII sniper missions, is headed to PS3 and 360 next year.
Sniper Elite first released on the PS2, Xbox and PC, placing players in the boots of AN American OSS secret agent disguised as a German sniper IN Berlin during the WWII conflict, putting your patience, stealth and shooting abilities to the test.
Details on the sequel are non-existent, other than the promise that it'll be a modern take on the six-year-old game that will "revitalise a genre all of its own when it is released in 2012".
"It's fantastic for us to be involved in the world of Sniper Elite again. We look forward to winning even more awards with Sniper Elite V2 and wowing the consumers with what will be a great game," said Rebellion CTO Chris Kinsley.
505 Games has snagged publishing rights. The first image of the game is above.

This week's Home update sees big changes for the Sodium hub space, the addition of a new egg-themed mini game and multiplayer sledge racing.
The Sodium hub has been improved to accommodate its growing crowds of visitors. "With the growing popularity of trans-dimensional extreme sports, and real-time multiplayer action coming to Home in Project Velocity, Scorpios has been expanded with all new seating and a dedicated Teleportal, giving pilots the opportunity to socialise before a race, or to throw down a challenge to anyone who thinks their reflexes are fast enough," explains Sony.
Easter's almost here so of course Home gets in on the festivities with a new egg-collecting mini game at Lockwood. Apparently "Lucy the Goose has been robbed and she needs your help and the thief is still at large. Baron von Eggenschtealer, the wily lop eared villain has made off will Lucy's eggs," and it's down to you to get them back. To get involved just get the Baron's Eggcellent Plan Active Object.
Elsewhere, Audi has launched its free multiplayer Audi sledge racing game that comes with a free new apartment. To get your six-player racing action on, grab the free Audi Sled apartment from Home Square, Audi Home Terminal or Audi Alpine Lodge, then invite your virtual friends over for a blast.

SCEA president and CEO discusses the upcoming NGP and past PS3 strategy
Jack Tretton, the president and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment America, has stressed that he does not believe the price of the NGP – which remains unconfirmed – will be the factor that ultimately decides its fate.
"It's not to say the price of the platform isn't a consideration, but I don't think price makes or kills a platform," Tretton told Fast Company, as reported by Gamasutra.
"Something that's lousy, that's very inexpensive, is not going to be successful, and something that's pricey will ultimately find its audience if there's enough value there."
Referencing both Sony's upcoming handheld and its past high-price strategy with PS3, Tretton went on to argue that expensive consoles still offer value for money.
"I think when you're buying a platform, when you're buying technology, you're hopefully buying a device you're going to enjoy for many, many years," he added.
"People are used to spending several hundreds of dollars to get a portable device. I think in the long run, when you look at that total investment in a platform, the amount of money you spend on the hardware is a relatively small percentage of the total investment."

April 6th, 2011, 01:34 Posted By: wraggster
Sony's forthcoming NGP handheld will be a perfect fit for MMOs, so says Sony Online Entertainment boss John Smedley.
Answering a question from GamesIndustry.bizregarding whether free-to-play MMOs could ever work on a console, Smedley insisted that he saw a bright future for the format not just on the PlayStation 3 but also on Sony's forthcoming portable.
"There are a lot of people out there that have, in the past, associated free-to-play with lower quality - and simply put, that's just not true any more. There are a lot of free-to-play games that are great, and I think that's going to come over to console just as well.
"With the console, we're selling to an audience that already has the PS3 obviously - and by the way not the just the PS3, but in the future I can see other devices. Sony's announced the NGP, and if that isn't a perfect machine for doing MMOs on, then I don't know what is."
He went on to argue that it was probably only a matter of time before console developers saw the benefits of offering their core game for free and then charging for add-ons.
"So it's too soon to tell for sure but I think you're going to start seeing free-to-play gaming on console as well. People will realise that getting a lot more folk to try their games using that kind of business model will help; it'll just be in addition to the Blu-ray business model."
Sony Online has just released the family-friendly FreeRealms MMO on the PlayStation 3, with new PlanetSide and EverQuest titles also in the works.

The war on Sony by 'hacktivist' collective Anonymous has turned personal.
For off-shoot group SonyRecon, successful DDOS (distributed denial of service) attacks on the PlayStation website and PlayStation Store were not enough, reports PlayStationLifestyle.
SonyRecon plans to take matters a step further and carry out 'Dox' attacks on Sony employees. Dox refers to stealing a person's identity - their name, telephone number, pictures, home address, email, IP, family details and so on - and maliciously using that information against them
SonyRecon provided examples of how the stolen information could be used. One example was sending STD postcards - e-postcards - to the target to tell them that one of their previous partners had a sexually transmitted disease.
SonyRecon is still a fledgling operation, but already claims to have brought down Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton's website - the legal firm handling the George "Geohot" Hotz case.
Yesterday, Anonymous declared war on Sony for its "wholly unforgivable" legal pursuit of George "Geohot" Hotz - aka the man credited with jailbreaking PS3.
"Now you will experience the wrath of Anonymous. You saw a hornets nest, and stuck your penises in it. You must face the consequences of your actions, Anonymous style," a threat read.
