If you are looking to enjoy the famous game from Valve on Portal 2 CFW3.55, well you should take your troubles patiently, because in the short term it is impossible to play with it on a console CFW 3.55.
Our friends at PS3 Crunch we learn that the first game the keys encrypted with firmware 3.60 arrives, and it is the famous game from Valve => Portal 2.
Based on early returns, despite all the tricks commonly used to run all games on CFW 3.55, it is impossible to cast.
Without the decryption key firmware 3.60 which will allow us to decrypt the eboot. Bin, it is currently impossible to run the game from Valve.
And it appears that future titles such as LA Noire may follow suit.
We hope that our friends hackers manage to find a new solution to start the next game with encrypted keys FW 3.60.

News via http://www.psp-hacks.com/2011/04/16/...dels-released/
PSP hack master, neur0n, has released yet another custom firmware — custom firmware 6.38 ME for PSP-1000 and PSP-2000 models.
I’d assume this CFW is similar, if not the exact same as this one, except of course it now works with PSP-1000 models. With that said it is still recommended you have a Pandora battery ready to go … you know, in case the unexpected happens and you render your PSP a brick.

The Giant Enemy Crab scored another victory this weekend when the Sony Store boycott, staged by notorious group "Anonymous," failed to materialize. Sony is now reporting that sales actually INCREASED as a result of the publicity surrounding this event!
This brings The Giant Enemy Crab's record to a dominating 3-0 after it's defeat of George "Geohot" Hozt and impending total squash of Graf_Chokolo. PS3 hackers are still seeking information on the rumored "weak spot" in anticipation of a counter-attack for massive damage.
Quote:
Anonymous on Saturday (16/04/11) staged mass sit-ins on Sony stores throughout most of America and the UK. Other countries were also meant to take part but few reports of sit-ins were logged.
The group Anonymous were staging these sit-ins to defend the rights of free speech for everyone and true ownership of hardware from Sony. In context they were also polarised against the decision of Sony to remove the “otherOS” option from the PS3 system and blocking distribution of information on how to get around Sony measures of removing this feature.
However it appears that Anonymous’ work has once again been in vain, as several reports throughout the UK especially in London reference consumers assaulting what few protesters were present with water pistols and chucking food – this is not at all surprising given that the UK is one of the biggest consumers of the PS3 and that not many people side with what Anonymous have done thus far or even understand their cause.
What gives the whole event a negative spin is that speaking to various reps today (17/04/11) from different stores they provided us with a glance at the following internal memo which was quoted in saying:
Thank you all for your understanding and hard work during the protests on Saturday. I would also like to thank all of you that demonstrated positive initiative during this time…we are also pleased to announce that the hard work all of you put in has lead to noted profits…
After speaking to several reps from Sony stores it appears the actions by Anonymous increased sales for many stores with some store managers telling us that initial sales were up almost 10% – I guess that all publicity is good publicity!
We also asked what was meant by “positive initiative” and many Sony reps said they were advised when asked what the signs outside meant:
Defending free speech
That they were to tell customers that this was referring to Skype being built-in to their Internet TV’s, the PSP Go and the upcoming NGP – this in turn resulted in increased sales specifically for televisions with the Skype function.
In conclusion it appears Anonymous have indeed failed once again with their Sony Operation, relating to this whole chapter it seems that they have bitten of more than they can chew and that they have very little support – indeed they are fighting a lost cause.

Geohot has kept his word and donated the donations from his legal fund, plus some extra, to the Electronic Frontier Foundation. Hopefully the EFF will step up and help Graf_Chokolo with his case in Germany now.

$10,000 to the EFF
As promised, all left over legal defense money, plus a little to bump it to a nice number, has been sent to the EFF. Thank you all so much for your support, without it, things could have been much worse.
This money goes to the EFF in hopes that America can one day again be a shining example of freedom, free of the DMCA and ACTA, and that private interest will never trump the ideas laid out in the constitution of privacy, ownership, and free speech.
At the end of the day, something I take comfort in. The PS3 got OWNED.
"Once the code works they'll never be able to take it away from us."
Will you be continuing your work on Sony products anonymously?
Nah. As much as I don't respect the goons at Sony, I do respect the court.
Will future research on Sony products be chilled?
Nah. If you piss them off enough for them to pull out the legal team and their million dollar checkbook, worst thing that happens is you have to super swear to never do it again.
Will Sony do a better job with security next time?
LOL, I think they'll do a lot worse. It wouldn't surprise me if the people who did PS3 security were fired. And I'm curious as to who Sony is hiring for NGP security. Lawyers? Get the code to sign a contract that it won't have exploits? You shouldn't piss off the community of people who are actually talented at this stuff. Hell, maybe you even pissed off your engineering employees enough to leave some nice backdoors?

April 18th, 2011, 19:54 Posted By: wraggster
US gamers who pick up a pre-owned copy of forthcoming PlayStation 3 shooter SOCOM 4 will have to pay an extra fee to access all of the game's multiplayer content, developer Zipper Interactive has revealed.
As detailed on the US PlayStation Blog, all new copies of the title will come with a code allowing access to "SOCOM Pro".
Primarily, this means you'll be able to enter Pro Custom Game queues.
"Not only will these queues be ranked, but they'll also be updated regularly over the entire lifespan of SOCOM 4 – so it'll be the gift that keeps on giving for quite some time," explained community manager Jeremy Dunham.
"Moreover, the first set of Pro Custom Game types will be the same fantastic rule sets that our diligent fans tested during our SOCOM 4 beta period."
On top of that, you'll also get two exclusive weapons: the AK-47 for the Insurgents, and the M-16 for the Spec Ops, with more content coming soon.
"These additions are just the beginning – we have plenty more planned for SOCOM Pro down the road including access to exclusive multiplayer maps, various co-op additions, dedicated leaderboards, and lots more," added Dunham.
If you buy a used copy of the game you'll have to spend $14.99 in the PlayStation Store to access this content. It will be available one week after the game's 19th April US launch date.
Publisher Sony hasn't confirmed whether the scheme will make the trip over to Europe following its release here on Friday. We've asked for clarification and will update when we get an answer.
Sony isn't the first publisher to start charging pre-owned purchasers for multiplayer content. EA's 'Project $10' scheme, launched early last year, pioneered the trend for including access codes in new copies of games.

Sony has confirmed a multiplayer beta for Uncharted 3, with early access on 28th June if you buy InFamous 2 or subscribe to PSN Plus, becoming freely available on 5th July.
The date was revealed alongside a first look at the game's multiplayer component last week in Los Angeles. Speaking to Eurogamer, Naughty Dog co-president Evan Wells talked up how the "really strong" and "still thriving" community for Uncharted 2 had shaped the studio's approach this time.
"We really wanted to embrace the community, and listened to what they asked for," he said. "One of the unique features of Uncharted 2 multiplayer versus all the other online shooters out there is that we have a very rich and deep traversal move set. It's a very vertical experience, so we really wanted to leverage that and build environments that took advantage."
An extensive list of new features includes one new game mode (with more to be announced), Three Team Deathmatch, which pits three teams of two against each other. Meanwhile, the cinematic setpieces typical of the single-player adventure have been translated into multiplayer battles.
Social media integration is also on the menu, allowing Facebook friends to play each other even if they are not PSN contacts, and videos can be edited and uploaded to Facebook and YouTube.
Naughty Dog has taken steps to balance matches with Power Plays, which grant temporary bonuses to a side losing heavily – Elimination, for example, prevents the opposition from respawning. Overtime and Sudden Death will also kick-in when there is no clear winner.
Add to that customisable loadouts and characters, new boosters, kickbacks and treasure to acquire, split-screen and stereoscopic 3D support, and the promise of a full reveal of co-op missions further down the line.
For the full lowdown on Uncharted 3 multiplayer, check out our extensive hands-on impressions. A video report from last week's event, featuring interviews with Wells and game director Justin Richmond is on its way soon too.

via Computer and Video Games
Naughty Dog's released official details on Uncharted 3's multiplayer mode, as well as confirming a PSN beta for late June.
The Multiplayer Beta for Uncharted 3 begins worldwide on June 28, with early access going to PlayStation Plus members or by purchasing specially marked copies of Infamous 2, the developer's confirmed.
As for what's included in the online mode, Naughty Dog calls the leap forward in gameplay, technology and depth since Uncharted 2 "astounding" - and you can see it in action via the debut trailer below.
Two new modes have been revealed so far; Three Team Deathmatch, which is a small-team 2 vs. 2 vs. 2 variation on Team Deathmatch, and Free For All, which explains itself.
It sounds like the biggest new additions however are the Buddy Mode and character customization. Both heroes and villains skins will have hundreds of customizable parts, says Naughty Dog, from accessories to shirts to a deep weapon customization feature - and the latter's not just cosmetic either; you can add precise scopes, bigger clips and more.
Uncharted 3's also introducing an emblem editor and the Buddy system, which allows you to pair up with a friend and spawn together, easily find eachother on the battlefield and collectively share your successes throughout the match with each other.
The Buddy System also adds special Buddy Boosters, says Naughty Dog, unique perks that help players work together to earn extra cash, ammo and medals. Uncharted 3 players will also be able to purchase Paid Boosters using in-game cash, for short-time skills that aren't available via unlocks.
Naughty Dog has also confirmed Split-screen support and a co-op mode for Uncharted 3, promising that it's been "vastly expanded upon". More details will be revealed further down the line, it's said.
Good stuff. For more details hit the source link here.

News via http://wololo.net/wagic/2011/04/18/release-tn-hen-e/
As promised, Total_Noob is back with a new version of his Hen. If you don’t know yet what a Hen is, HEN stands for Homebrew Enabler, and is basically a system that allows you to run fan made games, emulators, and plugins on your PSP. The major improvement of this release is a menu where you can configure your plugins, based on Bubbletune’s Game Categories plugin.
The other features described in the changelog should not surprise you too much, as Total_Noob announced them a week ago in this interview.
I’ll quote the changelog:
- - Added ‘TN Settings’ option to the XMB where you can adjust your configurations and plugins (based on Bubbletune’s Game Categories).
- - Added OSK Character Limit Increase (the Internet Browser OSK only supports 512 characters. This patch allows you to use 1518 characters).
- - Added password control at startup (change password in ‘Security Settings’).
- - Added sceUmdMan_driver patch (umd4hombrew is not necessary anymore).
- - Added ability to access flash0, flash1, flash2, flash3 and UMD Disc via USB.
- - Added PSX multi-disc support.
- - Added possibility to hide hen eboot in the game menu.
- - Added version.txt display.
- - Added more functions to kubridge library.
- - Cloned more NIDs wich Sony removed in 6.20.
- - Fixed bug that didn’t show ‘Memory Card Utility’ in pops.
- - Fixed syscall execution in kernel mode (thanks to neur0n).
- - Redesigned NID Resolver.
- - Updated NID Table.
- - Improved plugins compatiblity: PSPConsole, Macro Fire, Custom Firmware Extender, Brightpad, Battery Warning Plugin and many more!

Energy concerns could lead to enforced two-week break later in the year
PlayStation platform holder Sony has said that it may have to close some of its company premises in Japan later this year.
The BBC reports that the move is being considered both as a response to the ongoing power shortages dogging the country following last month's earthquake.
The Japanese government recently outlined a number of energy-saving targets and asked all manufacturers to reduce their energy consumption.
One possible course of action would be to bring forward a number of national holidays and then ask staff to work additional days later in the year.
A number of other companies such as Toyota, Nissan and Honda have already reduced production at manufacturing plants.
"There's very high uncertainty on Japan's outlook," the International Monetary Fund's Naoyuki Shinohara stated.
"If power shortages are prolonged or if the situation at the nuclear plant deteriorates, the outlook will change... the risk is firmly to the downside."

Sony reportedly tasked police with protecting its stores from protests by supporters of the hacker group Anonymous – but hardly anyone turned up.
Anonymous had threatened Sony with a protest that would involve supporters sitting in its Sony Centres and returning Sony products.
But reports on the protest's Facebook page (viaVGChartz) show the planned "Sony Operation" flopped.
"Just went to a Sony store for the first time in my life!" wrote one anonymous attendee. "Bought a Bravia "
Despite the failure, Anonymous vowed to fight on.
"Operation Sony success," wrote the author of the page. "Sony closed UK stores during protests on Saturday. The fight for the fair consumer rights goes on.
"There will be another protest date. This movement does not end here."
Anonymous' beef is the result of PlayStation 3 hacker George "Geohot" Hotz's out of court settlement with Sony.
Last week Anonymous promised Sony it would deliver "the biggest attack you have ever witnessed".
That followed Anonymous' decision to "temporarily suspended" its war on the PlayStation Network – saying its beef was with Sony, not Sony's customers. "Anonymous is not attacking the PSN at this time," Anonymous said. "We realise that targeting the PSN is not a good idea. We have therefore temporarily suspended our action, until a method is found that will not severely impact Sony customers.
"Anonymous is on your side, standing up for your rights. We are not aiming to attack customers of Sony. This attack is aimed solely at Sony, and we will try our best to not affect the gamers, as this would defeat the purpose of our actions. If we did inconvenience users, please know that this was not our goal.
"This operation is a response to Sony's attempt to deprive their customers of products they bought and therefore own, wholly and completely. Anonymous will not attempt to fight this by following the exact same course of action.
"We have plenty of tricks up our sleeves."

Street Fighter x Tekken is likely a four-player game after its producer teased the feature.
SFxT features a real-time tag battle system that allows players to fight as a team of two and switch between characters by simultaneously pressing medium punch and medium kick.
Rival fighting game Mortal Kombat, out this week, is also two-on-two, but allows up to four players to play in a match, each controlling a single character.
When Eurogamer asked Street Fighter producer Yoshinori Ono if Street Fighter x Tekken also includes four-player fighting, he replied: "Just look at my face and imagine. I'm sending you psychic signals.
"Eventually I'll have to answer that question."
Capcom has announced 10 characters so far, including Ryu, Ken, Kazuya and Nina Williams.
The game system is based on the 2.5D Street Fighter IV, with eight way movement and 3D characters battling on a 2D plane.
Tekken characters have been reworked so they play on the 2D plane with six attack buttons, although they can still be played with the traditional Tekken four button system.

Konami has released a few new screens from the latest entry in its long-running survival horror series Silent Hill.
Silent Hill Downpour is being developed by Vatra Games and follows Murphy Pendleton, a convicted criminal who finds himself stranded in the mysterious town. The game takes place in new areas of Silent Hill, which can be seen in these screens.
The shots show off more natural settings than Silent Hill fans may be used to, but with the usual creepy lighting and menacing atmosphere. Anyone else getting an Alan Wake vibe off of this?
Also pictured is the game's protagonist Murphy Pendleton, alongside another who doesn't look like he's too pleased to be in Silent Hill either.
Vatra Games has said it isn't worried about ditching mainstay series characters for Silent Hill: Downpour because the town itself is "the star" of the series.

Classic Square RPG Final Fantasy VI is getting a PlayStation Network re-release in Japan this month.
According to Siliconera, Square Enix producer Shinji Hashimoto Tweeted that the game would be available to download from 20th April.
It will be the 1999 PSone version of the game, rather than the 1994 SNES original. That now just leaves Final Fantasy IV as the only PSone franchise outing yet to be ported over to PSN.
No Western release dates have been confirmed yet. While you're waiting, why not reacquaint yourself with Final Fantasy V, which arrived on the service earlier this week.

More than four million user-created levels have been shared around the world in PlayStation 3 DIY platformer LittleBigPlanet, publisher Sony has announced.
Product manager Alex Pavey told the PlayStation Blog that 4,141,742 stages have been uploaded globally.
According to his calculations, if you played the game solidly for 12 hours a day, giving each stage five minutes of your time, it would take 78 years to try them all out.
"For us the most exciting thing has always been seeing what the community does with a LittleBigPlanet game when they get their hands on the new features and tools," added a statement from developer Media Molecule.
"We're constantly delighted – and amazed – by their ingenuity and creativity, and it's so inspiring to see the level of affection that exists for LittleBigPlanet amongst fans around the world."
The post also offered a heads-up on the latest costume DLC heading to LittleBigPlanet 2. The Tron: Evolution Minipack arrives on 27th April at €2.99 / £2.39, with Killzone 3 clobber scheduled for May. Pics below.

Portal 2 is breaking some new ground – at least the PlayStation 3 version is. 'Portal 2 marks the first time that Valve's social gaming network (and digital distribution system), Steam, will appear on consoles,' writes blogger Peter Smith. What this means is that once you link your Playstation Network [PSN] and Steam accounts 'you'll be able to keep tabs on what your Steam friends are up to from within a game of Portal 2 on the PS3,' says Smith. And, you'll be able to play Portal 2 with friends playing on PC or Mac. 'I can think of at least one other example of cross-platform gaming (Shadowrun supported both PC and Xbox players in the same game servers),' says Smith, 'but it's still very rare.'"This afternoon Valve launched a countdown to Portal 2 which can be accelerated by playing any of a group of indie games.
