PlayStation Vita owners can now download Grand Theft Auto 5's iFruit companion app.
The Vita version of iFruit launched yesterdayin North America, which means it is likely to pop up in the European PlayStation Store update today. The free download, already available for iOS and Android devices, lets you check your LifeInvader profile and create and customise cars for use in the main game. You can also look after and train Chop, Franklin's dog, in a Tamagotchi-style mini-game.There's no word yet on any Vita-exclusive features, but the app may see more updates over the lifespan of the main game - especially if this is extended with a next-gen edition.

Square Enix will release a Collector's Edition of PlayStation 3 exclusive action role-playing game Drakengard 3 that includes the Japanese voice over - but not a game disc. When the publisher announced it planned to release the game on these shores as a PlayStation Store download only, some called for a physical version.Today Square Enix responded to that feedback by revealing the £69.99 Collector's Edition - but it doesn't include a physical copy of the game. Instead in includes a download token which you redeem on the PlayStation Store. It does include some physical gubbins, however. The Collector's Edition is a clamshell box, and inside is a 160-page hardback prequel novella, download tokens for a costume, an additional level and a giant baby head for your dragon. There's also a music sampler CD which includes a selection of tracks from the game's original soundtrack, composed by Keiichi Okabe of Nier fame. And there's a double sided poster.Of particular interest is the inclusion of a download token for the original Japanese voice acting. While this DLC is part of the Collector's Edition it will also be available to those who pre-order the standard digital game through the PlayStation Store, Square Enix said. The Collector's Edition will be sold exclusively from the Square Enix Store. Only 2000 have been made. The game launches on 21st May.Square Enix Europe executive Larry Sparks said: "The Collector's Edition has been produced in response to fans' requests for it to be made available across PAL territories."We always listen to our audience and investigate what can be done. The new methods of digital publishing allow us to deliver games directly to fans and for Drakengard 3 - it means we can offer a core fan base something they requested - the opportunity to own the game in a boutique physical Collector's Edition."

In a post on thePlayStation Blog, creative director Kevin Oxland said it had been a "challenging project"."It may seem like a simple game on the surface but there are actually many layers of depth to it," he said."We've spoken a little about this before, about our goals to marry a pet game with an adventure game and a large part of that was always the characters - specifically, our talking puppies."The game includes 10,000 lines of spoken dialogue, with scripts written for each of the dogs.

Zombie Studios has delayed the release of its PC and PlayStation 4 procedurally-generated first-person scare-fest Daylight to 29th April 2014, it's announced. It had been due out on 8th April."Let's not mince words," read a note from the developer. "First news you need to know about Daylight is that we had to delay the release date by several weeks. Here's the thing: the way Daylight is developed is completely different because of its procedural generation. In a lot of ways it really helped the team by streamlining the environment creation, but it's taken extra time to make sure all the scare cues are properly implemented for maximum player effect."Tl;dr: we're fine tuning Daylight to make it scarier."Meanwhile, Zombie said Daylight will be discounted for PlayStation Plus subscribers when it does go on sale. Its normal price is £11.99.

Rockstar has revealed the upcoming new features headed to Grand Theft Auto Online this "spring", including the much-awaited multiplayer Heists.
Beginning next week Rockstar will roll out the Capture Creator, the first of several upcoming additions to Grand Theft Auto 5's multiplayer mode. This update will allow you to design your own Capture Jobs, similar to the player-created Deathmatches and Races already available. The next lump of new content will be The High Life Update, which will unlock the ability to own two properties at the same time. Other additions will include new high-end apartment options, three new cars, a new bike, new jobs, a new rifle and new wardrobe items, Rockstar wrote in a new blog post.Intriguingly, the update will also contain a new Mental State player statistic, to let you see "how passive or psychotically unhinged fellow players in your session really are".Also slated for this spring, but at a still-to-be announced time, are the multiplayer Heists that Rockstar has been teasing since the game's release.Updates will then continue throughout the year - Rockstar is already thinking of holiday-themed updates, as well as the previously-teased single-player campaign DLC, too.Other upcoming tweaks include 'non-contact' races where other players are semi-transparent, bonus currency if you rate jobs, increased payouts for certain events when playing with fewer than four people and the option to call Lester and ask him to get the police off your back for a certain amount of time. Handy!

When the PlayStation Network is next updated, those playing Minecraft on the PlayStation 3 will find two new skin packs available for purchase. One features koalas and cavemen, while the other focuses on the most famous faces of the PlayStation 3.
According to the PlayStation.blog, the Battle And Beasts skin pack will allow players to dress as koala bears, cavemen, an ocotopus or a particularly angular Cleopatra. The other pack, simply titled "Skin Pack 1", is aimed at "hardcore PlayStation fans" and features Minecraft versions of Uncharted lead Nathan Drake, larcenous raccoon Sly Cooper, "folks from Heavy Rain" and "someKillzone dudes." We'd like to be more specific on who exactly will be representing Heavy Rain and Killzone, but neither Sony nor Minecraft creator Mojang offer further clarification.
Likewise lacking from the announcement are the price points that will be attached to those two DLC skin packs, though territorial Sony devotees will be pleased to hear that Skin Pack 1 is exclusive to the PlayStation 3 incarnation ofMinecraft.

Sucker Punch Productions has a few updates due out "in the weeks to come" for Infamous: Second Son, including an option to change the time of day, studio co-founder Brian Fleming writes on the PlayStation Blog.
Infamous: Second Son has rich day, evening and night environments, as we discussed in the Super Joystiq Podcast last week, and soon players will be able to change the position of the sun and moon at will. The option to alter time will appear in the options menu after beating the game.
Also on the update list: An option to turn the HUD off, and the ability to cap the frame rate at 30FPS.
"Time-wise, the earliest we could have the patch and new features ready is about two weeks from now, so stay tuned for another update - we'll let you know as soon as they're ready to go live," Fleming writes.

Tiny Brains launched on the PS4 in December last year, and since then it's gotten a bit bigger on the inside: a free update to the game has added new time-based and puzzle challenges, a new superpower, online functionality for the demo which allows players to join up with those who own a full copy of the game, and more.
Arguably, the biggest update of all is that the game is now a cross-buy purchase for PS3 and PS4, so you'll get two copies for the price of one. Or rather, two for half the price of one; the game's initial price of $20 has been cut down to $10 across all platforms, which means that the game is now both tinierand larger. Whoa. We ... we may need to sit down.

Switchblade Monkeys has confirmed that it's unique online top-down shooter Secret Ponchos has suffered a delay.
The game was originally planned for an April release, but was left out of Sony's April PSN release schedule.
Switchblade Monkeys confirmed following the omission that the game will miss its April release, but didn't confirm a new date. Sony, however, recently posted a comprehensive PS4 release schedule which listed the game for a 'Spring' release.
Secret Ponchos is a uniquely styled "online combat game" that has players battle online to gain notoriety. "These duels are recorded into your character's legacy," explains the developer.
"Players can compete in one-vs-one duels, engage in western style gang fights, or enter the fray with the Free-For-All mode. Upon entering the game, players create and customize their own outlaw(s) which can then be upgraded (both abilities and appearance) as they gain reputation points."
The developer also confirmed that game will get a beta test before its PS4 release "to make sure its rock solid".
Expect more details on that soon.

PlayStation 4 game Secret Ponchos, a stylised multiplayer Western, won't be ready for release in April as originally expected. It's one of a few games that will launch for free if you subscribe to PlayStation Plus. When that was announced, so was an April release date. One keen-eyed chap by the name of John Scalzo noticed that Secret Ponchos wasn't listed in April's PlayStation Plus content plan and joined the dots, putting the question to developer Switchblade Monkeys on Twitter."John you are correct!" the developer answered (via GameInformer, Joystiq). "Hang in there. Secret Ponchos will come to beta testing to make sure it's rock solid before release."Secret Ponchos was unveiled alongside PS4 over a year ago. It's fluid and eye-catching, presented in a sparing but stylish isometric way. You create an outlaw and try to kill other people, earning reputation points to customise your fighter - mechanically and visually - as you go. You can duel, fight in gangs or go bananas in a free-for-all.It's built on Sony's proprietary and free PhyreEngine, and it runs at a pleasing 1080p resolution at 60 frames per second.

For those of you still on PS Vita firmware 3.01, and even 3.10, there has been a big bang of events today. Six more titles were released for 3.01, and a game was re-exploited for 3.10. Today was a hectic day of releases. First, katsu, recently more known for his hardware hacking, released 5 different games that are exploitable on Vita firmware 3.01. Later on, a cohort of mine, @heleius, released another game that is also exploitable. I would like to make it known, that @qwikrazor87 was actually the one man show who exploit all 6 of these games.
