Mrn has posted a new release of FOSK, heres the details:
<blockquote>F.O.S.K. is the Fast On-Screen Keyboard PLUGIN for TTLDE,
requiring only two (!) keystrokes to enter and one(!) to delete a character .
How does it work?
-----------------
The on-screen QWERTY keyboard is divided into 7 blocks, each one with a square shape,
containing 3x3=9 on-screen buttons (therefore icon.png .)
The first keystroke selects such a block, while the second one takes one of the nine
chars from the block. After selecting a block, to move up/down/left/right .. the
arrow keys are used, while to move up-left .. 'square', down-left .. 'cross', down-right
..'circele', up-right .. the 'triangle' is used. To choose the mid char from the block
use the 'Select' key.
New line ... press 'O'(circle) twice
Delete....... press 'X'(one keystroke! - you see?)
Shift ....... keep 'L' (left fire) pressed
PrintScreen.. press 'Select' before selecting a block
Installation:
-------------
Latest versions of TTLDE (from v.2.1 on) do support keyboard plugins.
Make shure you have the right version installed. Then Copy 'f.o.s.k.LC' into your
'TTLDE/OSK' folder. It'll be somewhere on your memory stick ...
'psp/game/luaplayer/Applications/ttlde_2_1/osk/' directory.
If you still do not have luaplayer installed, go to 'luaplayer.org' and grab it.
(Further nice Lua apps downloadable at pspLua.com .)
TTLDE is available also from E-ma's site. (http://geocities.com/lua_ema/)
Using f.o.s.k with TTLDE:
------------------------
Run Luaplayer, then start TTLDE.
Press 'Select' > 'Select OSK' > 'f.o.s.k'
The keyboard pops up after perssing 'R'.</blockquote>

Dlanor has released a Modified version of InfoNes the Nes emulator for the PS2, heres the info:
<blockquote>Hi everyone.
Here is a revised version of InfoNES 0.93, as ported by '7not6'
In brief, my changes are these:
GUI completely translated to english.
Button assignments changed to better match a real NES.
Turbo button implementation replaced with a new one.
New Submenu functions to save and load CNF files.
New CNF file format (easier for humans to edit).
The attached ZIP includes both a freestanding ELF file and an ISO file suitable for burning to CD-R or installing for HDLoader or USBExtreme. Contrary to the norm here that ISO does contain lots of NES ROM files, but rest assured that every one of those ROM files is in public domain, so there are no legal issues.
The attached ZIP also contains some more details on the changes made, and some tips for convenient and efficient usage of the emulator.
Source code is not included in the ZIP this time, but I'm willing to share it with anyone who asks for it. I just didn't have time to make a 'proper' source release right now.</blockquote>

PSP owners still looking for something to follow on from the puzzling fun of Lumines (at least, those of you who haven't given up and bought a DS yet) might be interested to hear that 505 Gamestreet has signed up Japanese developer Cyber Front's puzzle game Koloomn for release on February 24th.
You've probably heard of it even if you think you haven't - it's actually the game known to Americaland as Ultimate Block Party. Released in the US late 2005, it got some pretty decent reviews.
The idea is to rotate four blocks in a little square to make same-coloured groups, which then disappear. It's done on a Tetris-style grid, and - not unlike Zoo Keeper - you can start chain reactions with a bit of swift spinning.
There's Tutorial and Practice modes, an "Endless" mode, an Arcade mode and some Vs modes including Wi-Fi multiplayer for two of you. In multiplayer, each cleared colour is like a special attack against your foe - red makes your opponent's cursor bigger, orange makes the colour of your cursor unrecognisable in your rival's play area, blue makes giant blocks drop on him, yellow hides entire rows from him, and purple makes chunks of his blocks clump together unbreakably.

News from Gamesradar
We've managed to capture some brand new screens of Capcom's forthcoming action game for PSP, Monster Hunter Freedom.
Part action, part RPG, Monster Hunter Freedom builds on the world established in the recent PS2 game with an enhanced single-player game to compensate for the fact that you can't creature-kill online.
This doesn't mean that you're not able to hunt in packs, though, as localised WiFi four-player missions are still possible - you just need to find four Monster Hunter-playing mates with PSPs.
The game places you in a fantastical land where huge hulking monsters roam, with you're challenge to venture out from the safety of a nearby village, then hunt down and defeat these huge beasts. The spoils of the hunt can then be used to upgrade weaponry and armour so your hunter is better equipped to go after larger and more dangerous creatures.
Capcom has created some majestic beasts that still impress with their presence and scale when encountered on PSP. In fact, the PSP version looks better than the full console version as the smaller screen hides some of the more prickly edges.
Other PSP exclusive features include a two-player cooperative treasure hunting game, an enhanced village hub and a Felyne Kitchen where you have several cats to prepare skill-enhancing food for you.
Monster Hunter Freedom has already seen huge success in Japan, with over 400,000 copies being sold, so it will be interesting to see how UK gamers take to it when it comes out here next month.

Sony is the first major studio to announce their pricing model for the upcoming release of their Blu-ray Disc titles. BD films fresh from the theaters should hit the shelves for $23.45 while catalog titles will drop for $17.95, wholesale. Yeah, that's a 15-20% premium over what new-release DVDs cost back at their '97 release but, according to Sony, it's meant to "accommodate the sell-through and rental markets" which DVDs initially avoided since the world was beset by video rentals at the time. But you won't see a Sony MSRP slapped to the back of their BDs. Instead they will allow retailers to set their own margin of profit (like Amazon who lists catalog BDs for $22.49) allowing for the invisible hand to sort it all out. Sony also plans to bundle in DVD and/or UMD formats (not for free, dig?) with some BD releases as a key component of their marketing strategy. While this allows you to watch your new flick on multiple devices, it doesn't mean they've given up on managed copy. That's something they (and a few notable others) are "still working on."

The PSP Rhythm guys have released a Bassline test for the PSP, heres the info:
I have a working PSP Bassline test for you to check out. Very simple tb 303 style synth. The test has a hard coded beat that you can turn off and on. You can program your own basslines although you can't save. You can download it for a PSP 1.5: HERE. I wrote yet another audio engine and this one seems to be the tightest. My goal is to bring this into PSP Rhythm so you can have a bassline and drum machine/sampler to make music.

(News Submission by Lost Jared)
SuperMasterPSP 1.5
------------------
This is a JOKE game I wrote back in 2001, So please dont email me
saying that this game is too violent or is wrong. It was a present
I made for my Grandma because she bought me my first computer when I was 12.
So To honor her investment in my future, I wrote a game with her as the Star
the "Evil Grandma"...
What this game includes:
* Sound Effects!! (thanks Paul!!)
* New Level + Level Editor
* New Graphics by teknogeek1300
* Ability to take screen shots from in the game
Everything is completly mod-able all the graphics/sounds/fonts
are external.
Controls:
Use the D-pad to Move Master
Use Cross to Fire his shot gun
Use Square to jump
Screen Capture:
Press Select to turn screen shot mode on.
Hold L Trigger + R Trigger and tap Triangle to take a screen
(may take about 45 seconds or so since it produces bitmaps).
Required Firmware: only 1.5 supported right now (atleast until the next release of eLoader)
you can try on 2.0 and tell me your results.
I know it dosent work on 2.6 because it uses sound.
To Install..
Just Copy the PSP folder inside of this archive to /PSP/
That means the directory structure should Look Like
/PSP/GAME/smpsp
/PSP/GAME/smpsp%
/PSP/FONT/
I added the font directory so I dont have to include my MasterX fonts in every release
which is kind of pointless since the majority of the time its the same font..
Whats up with the font directory?
Place your MasterX Fonts in the directory and my future programs will read your fonts..
Screen Shots are saved in /PSP/PHOTO
Download and screenshots via comments.

PSP News and the DCEmu Network are proud to announce the 3rd Coding Competition for the PSP and this time the Competition is for 60 Days instead of 30 and not only that but the top prize is a yummy GP2X Console which for any coder is a welcome addition to their collection, heres some details about the prize.

<blockquote>Gamepark Holdings has made the GP2X a system for anybody to develop emulators, games, applications, practically anything for! Having Linux as its operating system, SDL support and tools supplied by Gamepark Holdings should make developing for the GP2X a breeze. There is no doubt that there will be a large homebrewn scene with games, emulators, and applications made by talented developers. The GP32 is a great scene to be a part of, and the GP2X should be no different, if not better. Emulation is complimented with perfect button layout and resolution which might make the GP2X the new emulating king for the years to come.</blockquote>
So there you have it a great prize for any Homebrew fan, the rules can be found on the competition page here --> http://psp-news.dcemu.co.uk/psp60codingcomp.shtml
Good luck all and to those who havent seen our previous competitions, check out Here and Here.

PSmonkey Posted this news regarding the continueing development of the Nintendo 64 emulator for the PSP:
"Ermm, no major progress last night. I added more opcodes (bust-a-move keeps pushing for more opcodes), fixed a few read/write opcodes & cop1 opcodes. I sadly broke fire demo yet again but I think some stuff is more accureate now.
I talked to lac for a bit last night. I seems mario64 & other games are getting stuck because of the lack of interupts (n64 was heavly based on the idea of using threads, so mario is getting stuck in an idle thread when an interupt should have triggered another thread). So I will get going on interupts soon and hopefuly that should show more progress soon."
Nice to know hes still plugging away at it although you must remember, Rome wasnt built in a day and this emulator is a long term project so it could be a long wait but worthwhile in the end.

Ryu and the gang are claiming some new turf, as Capcom today has shipped the first PSP game in its flagship fighting franchise. Originally released in arcades six years ago, Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max arrives on Sony's portable with more than 30 characters and a handful of new features.
In addition to the standard arcade mode, there's a new variable battle mode for 2-on-1 battles with fighters tagging out midmatch, a world tour mode in which players gain experience as they complete battles with a variety of stipulations, survival mode, final battle mode (cut straight to the last boss battle), and dramatic battle mode (which is like variable battle, only with all three fighters onscreen at all times). The game also adds a new fighter to the Alpha mix in the form of Ingrid from Capcom Fighting Evolution.
