Here's an amazing ad from a company called HMP, advertising the PSP idol porn they've been releasing in Japan. Check it out for yourself - but it basically says - in the office toilet - while waiting to meet people - in the park (just don't show it to the kids, it says!) - while fishing for tuna - while skydiving - while being stupid. You can have a boner anywhere, with your PSP! The ad below, which you'll see if you click the image, shows a woman saying "I'll be with you anywhere." (The phrase she uses is "Dokodemo issho," which is also the title of Sony's popular all-ages casual adventure franchise starring Toro the white cat. Hoho!) Then - with UMD, you can have an "adult life" anywhere. Must've been a fun campaign. Thanks to sub J for the image.

News from CVG
Atari has dismissed recent reports suggesting Driver: Parallel Lines is coming to Sony's handheld console PSP. Rumour circulating yesterday suggested a PSP version of the latest Driver game was currently in development at UK outfit Sumo Digital, and website Gamespot followed up the gossip with news that Atari had confirmed Driver: Parallel Lines was indeed in development for PSP over at Sumo.
A spokesperson for Atari's UK arm however has now stated all reports are "inaccurate". "Parallel Lines is not coming to PSP", they told us earlier today. Still, we wouldn't be at all surprised to see the series appear on the handheld at some point in the future.

News from Lik Sang

Megaman's just shy of 20 years old, but back in 1993 when he was making the leap from NES to SNES, Capcom re-branded their new and more action packed titles Megaman X. Now the series is still going strong on the PS2 today, but this week PSP gamers can take on the game that started it all. Rather than just a fairly straight forward port such as the one in GameCube's Megaman X Collection earlier this month, this remake is fitted out with full 3D graphics and characters, totally new environments and extra gameplay features that raise the bar for side-scrolling platformers.
Megaman Maverick Hunter X also includes an animated movie that provides real insight into Capcom's universe, and even gives gamers a sneak peek at events that took place before the plot line of the first game. All new cut scenes also have full voice acting, while the levels receive entirely updated background music and sound effects, and after fishing the main game, a whole new story is unlocked where you can play as Vile, X’s arch rival! Plus to ensure even veteran gamers get a real challenge, there's a brand new hard mode, more boss attacks, modified level arrangements with item locations and map layouts, and still more. For the great price of US$ 39.90, Megaman Maverick Hunter X is due this week, so strap on those rocket robo boots and prepare to fire up this legendary platformer.

In less than two months the anime and manga mega hit Naruto will slam onto the PSP. 10 new screenshots, shown below and through the product page surfaced this week thanks to The-MagicBox. Developers Cyber Connect 2, who produced the incredible Naruto: Narutimate Hero series on PS2, have let little information slip on this new game so far. We'll keep you updated on details, but what we do know is in addition to regular combat there will be an RPG mode with dungeon exploration, and rumors suggest the game engine is based on a port of the recent Naruto: Narutimate Hero 3. Due March 30th, Naruto is set to break free of your living room and take on the world via your handheld PSP.

Yoyofr author of the Snes9xTYL emulator for PSP , has update his w.i.p status on next version Snes9xTYL 0.03
here's a status update for next release :
* some small bug fixes (gfx rendering, memory card issues, ...)
* 2 releases : one with sound mixing (not emulation, only mixing) on the media engine, requiring kernel mode, so firmware 1.0 & 1.5
one with standard mixing on main cpu, in user mode, so probably working on all firmware until 2.6 (but not sure since neocdpsp is user mode only and doesn't seem to work well on 2.0+ firmware)
* mode 7 optimizations for "not rotated" rendering (for example maps in rpg, ...).
* minor new features : delete rom in file browser, delete save state
I'm currently working on stability issues when you go to sleep mode & resume.
As soon as it's ok, I'll release it. Perhaps I'll implement a new menu using neocdpsp work from radius, I've to check with him
more to come...

PMP Mod is a media player for PSP.
Here is the waited for malloc MOD+GUI version of jonnys latest 1.02 PMPMOD.
This is version PMPMOD M4.02g3, thus contains all mods from mallocs M4 plus a bugfixed g3 GUI version with these fixes:
Version M4.02g3:
- Timezone bug fixed, time is now displayed correctly in file list
- Battery Time display bug after unplugging the power cable fixed
- Playtime display bug with some videos in infobar fixed (Silent Hill Trailer of jo2k)
- Fixed malloc_64 bug not allowing some videos to play on GUI version
- Fixed 0-size POS file creation bug
- Fixed color display bug when exchanging mallocs infobar interface with a non greyscale version
- increased responsiveness of the filelist, but lowered responsiveness of the triangle button for playlist add/remove because it was too easily double triggered
- Added a counter for number of playlist items
Thanks to malloc for merging my M4g2 code with jonnys 1.02 so I could concentrate on the actual fixes.

Naoneo has released the PSix Project, heres the details:
" It's finally here!, we are proud to present to the psp scene, Psix, This not only marks the release of psix, but the beginning of a revolution, high quality visuals with high quality coding seemlessly merged to provide the user with the most fluid home-grown software experience ever!
And remember, it doesn't stop here, even after release we will be working none stop to impliment more and more features, and extend psix to something absolutely uniqe!
Haven't got a psp?, that's fine!, you can STILL testdrive psix by checking out the Psix Flash demo!
I would also like to make it clear that Psix pro membership ($9.99) is not payment for psix itself, the fee is for pro membership, which entitles the user to private forum access, and access to the latest updates and advancements, months before they are added to Psix lite (which will be updated with new features). "
More info

FAQ
Q) Can psix boot v2.00 games such as GTA?
A) Yes and No, some v2.00 required games do run from psix without update, but sadly most (Including GTA) do not.
Q) Does psix replace the Sony dash?
A) No, psix is just an application you can run
Q) Doesn't psix violate any GPLs, IPLs or TOUs?
A) No, psix operates without violating any rules and laws surrounding licenses and agreements.
Q) What's pro membership?
A) Pro membership gives you direct access to the latest developments in psix, and gives you direct interaction with the psix team for bug quishing, suggestions and idea, we will be working closely with the pro members to make psix the best it can possibly be.
Q) What do i get with pro membership?
A) You as a privliaged user, get access to the following :
- Frequent software updates
- Private members forum for discussing and suggesting changes to psix
- Access to the latest builds all uniquely built for your specific psp
- Live support for the software via IRC
- Free addons such as official skins, wallpapers, modules and tools
Q) How long do you plan on keeping psix updated?
A) We forsee given various factors such as sony's required firmware updates and general product life, between one and two years.
Q) How can i be sure some of the payment will go back to the psp community via the PDR program?
A) Honestly, you can't however i will personally ask that anyone who receives funding/resources from the PDR project, give us their username and a few words about it, so that people know if, and exactly who benefits from the program.
Q)Will the psix forum be open to the public?
A) No, the forums are for pro members only, this removes the possibility of spammers, trolls and crackers sniffing around to find someone with a copy of pro to 'leak'.
Q)Will psix lite be updated?
A) YES!, psix lite WILL be updated, however updates to psix lite will come slower than those that psix pro members have access to, the average time frame we are working with is that features from pro will slowly make it into lite after 2 or 3 months of them being in pro, so if you really do not wish to purchase pro membership, you can still enjoy the updates pro membership brings, but at a later date!</blockquote>
Download the lite version via the comments and please leave feedback on this release.

Source - Gamespot
--In Japan, Sony Computer Entertainment announced it will release six additional PSP games as budget-priced reissues under the PSP: The Best brand on March 2. The series is akin to the Greatest Hits series for the PlayStation 2.
SCE previously released 13 titles as PSP: The Best reissues in November, and it will also release Koei's Dynasty Warriors as part of the series on February 16.
The budget-priced reissues up until now were mostly games that appeared around the PSP's launch. The March lineup covers the missing titles from the period, and there are also a few newer games, like Konami's Coded Arms. The games are priced at 2,800 yen ($24), nearly half of their official catalog price of 4,800 yen ($41). Konami's Mahjong Fight Club will be an exception at 2,000 yen ($17).
The complete lineup is as follows:
Bleach: Heat the Soul (PSP: The Best), Konami
Coded Arms (PSP: The Best), Konami
Mahjong Fight Club (PSP: The Best), Konami
Piposaru Academia (PSP: The Best) [Ape Escape Academy], SCEI
Saru Get You P! (PSP: The Best) [Ape Escape: On the Loose], SCEI
Shutokou Battle (PSP: The Best) [Street Supremacy], SCEI

No, it isn't GPS on your PSP (if you want that, you'll have to roll your own). But if you live in Japan and want to use your PSP as a navigational aid, Sony is making it a little easier with a UMD-based mapping program that the company plans to release in April. The software is similar to most PC-based mapping programs, and allows users to store annotations on Memory Sticks and share info via WiFi. No word on whether Sony plans US or European versions, but that's fine with us; until it has GPS, we're not interested.

Todays PSP Homebrew releases carry on, Shatterdome has updated his game PSP Helicopter
Heres whats new:
I added some point balls that you can now collect, they are worth 150 and the multiplier affects them...also you won't run out of buildings, but they never speed up, so i'll figure that out yet, I have some ideas...
Also the point balls require new graphics and there is a death animation now, so you'll have to replace the old folder if you've checked this out before...
