Our Pals over at PSP Vault posted this news:
<blockquote>AlphaCananogram wrote to tell me that the Music Mixer over at www.wipeoutpure.com is now available.
I've been playing around with the music mixer for a few minutes, and for the time being, all it seems to do is mix music. I guess I was expecting some kind of feature to export tracks to your Memory Stick so you could use them in Wipeout Pure, but it appears this isn't an option for the time being. Hopefully it will happen in the future? Wipeoutpure.com still has "Music Packages" listed as "Coming soon," so I'm hoping they come out with a way to export tracks from Music Mixer when these Music Packages are made available for download.
Either way, I'd just like to point out that it's been some 10 months since Wipeout Pure was released in the US. It's absolutely fantastic to see the team still introducing new content and features for the game. If every PSP game had so much aftermarket support, the world would be a far, far better place.</blockquote>

News from SuccessHK
New details was prompted regarding Sony's PS3 console and the plans for its online and multimedia capabilities. The new details indicate that Sony has decided to turn up the heat on Microsoft with a service that will go that one step further than XBox Live.
The new PS3 online service will be called PlayStation Network and will offer the usual matchmaking and rankings lists but will also offer an iTunes style store that will allow you to download movies and music to your console which you will then be able to upload to your PSP.
Another new, previously unannounced, feature is the exciting prospect of using your PS3 console as a digital video recorder (DVR) much like a TiVo device. You will also be able to control aspects of the DVR function from your PSP.
Another question has to do with the effect the Blu-Ray drive will have on the console's price tag. The version of Blu-Ray that PS3 will use will rely heavily on the Cell processor and nVidia's RSX and will, in that respect, not be a stand-alone Blu-Ray player. As a result Sony has managed to keep the price of using Blu-ray at a minimum.
The other point is mainly information on how much better than initially thought, Sony's console is performing and we are informed that the final PS3 dev kits are running faster than predicted. We are also told that there are many more PS3 games in development than most people think but that may have to do with the fact that it states that the console is expected to release in the U.S. sometime in fall 2006, a date that most people did not expect.
The possible change of PS3 launch dates, something suggested last month, and the latest stream of positive PS3 information suggests that the Japanese giant may be feeling the pressure of the competition. Only recently a Sony Online Entertainment employee was fired for criticizing Sony's new console and for suggesting that other colleagues believe X360 to be a more capable machine. It is certain that Microsoft will have been handed a gift from Sony should the PS3 launch be delayed but we will have to wait until E3, 2006 before we can confirm any such news.

Our friends over at PSP Vault posted this news:
<blockquote>There's been speculation for both, but now we have something solid: according to a recent article in PSM (viewable on the nightmarish official PlayStation forums), the PSP will be getting both e-mail capability (through a free firmware update) and a GPS addon. Both will arrive sometime this year.
The e-mail functionality, dubbed Sony Mail, is said to associate your PSP's unique hardware identification code with a new (Sony-branded?) e-mail address. Presumably this is to avoid tedious password entry, although it seems likely that we'll still have to key in our e-mails via our favourite gadget's amazing text entry scheme. Associating the address with your specific PSP machine also brings up the question of whether you could access this e-mail elsewhere--one would hope so.
The GPS addon was one of those things Sony teased us with at E3 two years ago and promised to never ever release, so I guess someone down in Tokyo's losing their job tonight. Apparently it will come in a bundle with a UMD containing maps and such. I think if this is reasonably-priced, say $50-60 or so (that'd be a wild guess, guys), it would be extremely competitive with standalone GPS navigation systems for cars, which easily cost as much as a PSP and a few games. PSM also says you'll be able to purchase future map updates on separate UMDs, since apparently someone at Sony forgot about this 'internet' thing again.
Details are light on both items for now, but it's fair to say the PSP's multifunctionality just keeps getting more interesting.</blockquote>
Can the PSP be turned into a Killer Satnav, lets hope so

0xAVGP has released a Bust a Move Clone for the PSP, heres the info:
<blockquote>Hey there!
I just want to present my first game for PSP.
BlockZ is a Bust-A-Move Clone..you control a vertically bouncing block, which is changing it's color regularly. You have to prevent the other blocks from reaching the bottom of the screen! You have some time to clear those blocks by touching them with your block, when its got the same colour...after a short time, another line of blocks will appear on top...how long can you stay?^^
The game is written in C with the PSPSDK. </blockquote>

Raf and the rest of the PSPRadio Dev Team have released a new preview version of the internet radio client for the PSP.
What's new:
0.38.03 (r767) (2006-02-03)
NEW FEATURES
(sandberg) 3DUI: Messages from the PSPRadio (e.g. when downloading the list from shoutcast.com) are now shown in a separate panel. (r746)
(sandberg) 3DUI: The UI now supports 4 different fonts (Lists, Scroller, System info and Messages/Errors). (r747)
(sandberg) 3DUI: Both messages and errors are now displayed using the native panels, scaled to fit the message length. (r748)
(sandberg) 3DUI: Support for colored native panels has been added, which is used for the message and error panels. (r748)
(raf) TextUI: Now clock format is still compatible and configurable as in 0.37-Final. New mode added (0). If set to that in the config file, then the format is retrieved from the system configuration. (r752)
(raf) Core: Now MP3 report the current elapsed time (r755)
(raf) TextUI: Added support to display current (implemented) and total (not implemented) time of the playing stream. (r755)
(raf) Core: Now total time is also calculated for MP3s (VBR MP3 will probably show wrong data). (r756)
(sandberg) Core: Added support for visualization effects has been added. (r757)
(sandberg) 3DUI: Visualization panel added the the 3DUI. (r757)
(sandberg) 3DUI: Added support for using different skins on the main panels and the message/error panels. (r757)
(raf) Core: OGG Files now also report their time (r758)
(raf) Core: Switched from Tremor to regular OGG Vorbis library (slower, but may solve issues with ogg processing) (r759)
(sandberg) 3DUI: Added support for displaying current and total time for local files. (r760)
(sandberg) 3DUI: Update to r760 to handle the case where the total time isn't known. (r761)
(sandberg) 3DUI: Cleanup of the graphics (new fonts, panels etc.). (r762)
(raf) Core/TextUI: Now the system differientiates between the selected(highlighted) track, and the currently playing track. This is shown using different colors on the TextUI. (r764)
(sandberg) 3DUI: Background modified to include space for the playtime/total time. (r763)
(raf) Core: Changed versioning scheme. Hopefully less people will be confused now...
(raf) TextUI: The folder of the currently playing track is now highlighted. (r766)
BUG FIXES
(sandberg) Core/3DUI: Rearranged the order of the VBlank operations to remove some of the jitter on the UI. (r745)
(sandberg) Core: [ Bug #6256 ] WiFi logging is always enabled (r754)
(raf) Core: Fixed a bunch of small issues related to pausing/playing/changing tracks both using the buttons and HPRM. The current implementation should be a lot more reliable/intuitive. (r766)

David Beyer has updated his Url2PSP application for the PSP. Heres the info:
"This service is FREE and allows you to transfer URLs of files you would like to download to your PSP by entering them here. The PSP unit will connect to this web site, login using the MAC address of your PSP, transfer your list of desired file URLs, and then download them.
The URLs you enter will be stored for up to 7 days in this website’s database. In the current version, you must remove the URLs from our database yourself. In a future release, URL2PSP will automatically remove them for you. "
Heres whats new in this release:
* Fully compatible with V2.0 firmware of the PSP when running eLoader.
* Urls can be listed in "PSP/GAME/URL2PSP/urls.txt" if you don't want to use the website.
* Paths are not hard coded in the application anymore in order to make it work better with the PSP 2.0 and eLoader.
* The downloads directory has been relocated to be under PSP/GAME/URL2PSP. The FULL path now is /PSP/GAME/URL2PSP/DOWNLOADS
* When possible and supported by the host server, file resumes are supported and automatic.
* If possible, the program will follow "redirects" in http download operations. This will make a few more urls possible that weren't before.
* Encoded urls that contain %'s will be decoded fully (this was fixed).
* Free space on the memory stick and a "low space" warning are now shown on the screen.
* The "exit" button has been changed to be the "start" button in order to make the application work with 2.0 firmware and eLoader.
* If the free space on the memory stick is less than the file size you are trying to download, the file will be skipped automatically.
