Our pals at PSP Vault have posted the details of a review of a Bluetooth Adapter by a Japanese site, heres the info in English.
<blockquote>A few highlights from the review:
-The adapter fits underneath the PSP quite well, and has two protrusions that slip right into the speaker holes on the bottom of your PSP for added stability.
-The package includes a USB cable (for recharging) and a 2cm stereo extension cable.
-The adapter is only one part of the package -- the company plans on including stereo Bluetooth earphones in one of two styles: neck band or ear-hanger.
-Audio quality is on par with that of the original PSP earphones
-There are no controls on the headphones (or a connector for the PSP remote), but they do have volume adjustment
-Reception is good; he said there were no problems when he inserted the transmitter into a nylon bag, and there were no problem when he walked into the next room (but left the door open)</blockquote>
Could Bluetooth be an option for the PSP Homebrew Scene in the future

sly_catt posted this on the forums about a week ago, and I just now noticed it:
<blockquote>Just copy these onto your PSP using a USB cable. When its plugged into the computer, click start>my computer>Removable disk(F, and create a notepad document, name it "cheats.txt", copy and paste these onto the blank page! (the screen you're saving it in should have the folders "MP.ROOT" and "PSP") You can access them in the game with L1 + up, and scrolling to the third or fourth page!</blockquote>
These include several new teleport locations, plus Invisible Tony, Turn HUD On/Off, Max Money, and more.

Apparently just by replacing the 0.3 bmp icon with the old 0.2c bmp icon reenables the savestate function (Your bootup message may look a bit odd though).

Although reporting the expectations of retailers is something SPOnG generally avoids, it does look as though Gamestop has blown the lid on Sony's US PlayStation 3 launch plans, revealing dates and a wealth of titles.
All priced at a whopping $59.99, the retailer, recently under fire following issues surrounding the launch of Xbox 360, highlights 30 titles and expects the PlayStation 3 to ship on or around October 1 this year.
The complete list of titles for October 1st reads:
I-8
Condemned: Criminal Origins
Dark Sector
Devil May Cry 4
Dirty Harry
Dog Tag
Eyedentify
Fifth Phantom Saga
Fight Night Round 3
Formula 1
Gundam World
Heavenly Sword
Killing Day
Killzone 2
Metronome
MotorStorm
NioH
Possession
Project Delta
Psychopath
Scarface: The World is Yours
Spider Man 3
Stranglehold
Tekken
The Darkness
The Getaway 3
Theseis
Vision Gran Turismo
Warhawk
Gamestop also dates Metal Gear Solid 4 for December 1st.
This is the first indicator from any reputable source as to what we can expect from the early days of the PlayStation 3, and we have to say that things are certainly looking good. Sony hardware launches to date have been blighted with a dire lack of early-adopter software, with consumers often feeling somewhat cheated as they wait for games to become available. It looks as though SCEI's strategic push-back of its new console is going to pay off in the early phase of PlayStation 3 availability.
The games mentioned make for an interesting read, with a mixture of the already-announced, the unexpected and the downright intriguing: Vision Gran Turismo, Thesis, new Tekken, Stranglehold and what's almost certainly a new EyeToy-based title, Eyedentify all take our collective eye. Lots to look forward to at E3, with a playable PlayStation 3 hopefully as the showstopper.

Shipping today: Siren 2 (Asia), Simple 2000 Ultimate Series Vol. 95: The Zombie vs. Ambulance, Gradius Portable & Nakahara no Hasha: Sangoku Shouseiden (Asia)
From the publisher: 29 years ago, on an island just off Japan, Yamijima, the undersea cable was cut due to unknown reasons and the island experiences a serious blackout. All the island's residents disappeared mysteriously that night. Today, 29 years later, the missing return but in different forms. The nightmare that never ends is here, and a desperate human struggle to survive is only beginning...
The new genre horror game that, when released in 2003, became the centre of many conversations on gaming. "Siren", is about to have its sequel released! The main concept of this series is to "make people fell out-of-sorts and uncomfortable", and the various game environments derived from this concept gives never-before-experienced new horrific experiences to the player, surpassing the straightforward blood and gory images of other countries. This awkwardness and nauseous sensation must be personally experienced.
Sony's PlayStation2™ horror adventure Siren 2 is shipping today as Asia release version at US$ 59.90 only. A Japanese version will be due later this week, a Chinese language Asia release is on preorder to ship in March 20006.

Source - Joystiq
<blockquote>Research analysts Jason Kraft and Chris Kwak have determined an answer to the question, "What's Grand Theft Auto worth?" Parent-company Take-Two has been rocked by some troubles of late. With rumors that the company is for sale, and that Elevation Partners is browsing around, the question has been on a lot of minds lately--ours included.
First, they anticipate only two next-gen GTA games hitting the consoles in the next five years, versus the three current-gen titles. In the same period, they say "there is potential for up to six PSP titles (five, post Liberty City Stories) over the next five years," continuing, "Take-Two could develop unique PSP games between major next-gen console releases or ports of existing titles. Shorter development cycles on PSP enable Take-Two to release PSP titles more frequently. The regularity with which Take-Two releases GTA titles on PSP will be critical to the franchise’s revenue growth in the next-gen cycle and underlies our revenue growth forecast."
They also suspect console releases will either be released on multiple platforms, to capitalize on the larger install-base, or console exclusivity would place Take-Two "in a position to demand cash in return... in either scenario, Take-Two wins." They conclude that the Grand Theft Auto franchise is currently worth about $900 million, or $10-$13 per share. Removing the $1.52 per share of cash reserves, the remainder of Take-Two is worth $1.71-$4.71 per share. Those numbers show GTA as being worth 62%-81% of the company's total value! Will potential buyers be wary of placing all their eggs in the GTA basket?</blockquote>

February 7th, 2006, 17:41 Posted By: wraggster
After reporting disappointing 2005 holiday earnings today, Activision executives held a conference call to talk about their plans for the future. As the company cited the ongoing transition from current-generation platforms to next-generation consoles as a major factor for its lower-than-expected profits, executives were eager to tell the Wall Street analysts participating in the call about their plans for the new crop of machines.
In its 2007 fiscal year, which runs from April 2006 to March 2007, Activision will "remain committed to maintaining a leadership position on next-generation platforms," said Activision publishing president and CEO Michael Griffith. Griffith said that, during those 12 months, his company plans to release five PSP titles and four Xbox 360 titles--one of which will be the just-announced multiplatform X-Men: The Official Movie Game (working title). More importantly, he revealed that Activision is planning to ship three PlayStation 3 launch titles and one Revolution launch title during that period. The revelation is further confirmation that both consoles will almost certainly launch by year's end, most likely in November.
Though Activision didn't name its PS3 and Revolution titles, it's likely that they will be based on existing properties. Stung by the less-than-stellar reception of its all-new IP Gun, which Griffith admitted "performed below our expectations," the publisher said that "fiscal 2007 will be a year of caution and investment as we manage through the remainder of the transition and focus resources to prepare for accelerated growth in the next cycle." In other words, the publisher will be relying on ots stable of tried-and-true franchises, which includes Call of Duty and Quake.
Ironically, Activision did identify some of the games set for release during its 2008 fiscal year (April 2007-March 2008). Those will include tie-ins for the films Shrek 3 and Spider-Man 3, as well as new titles based on the adventures of skater extraordinaire Tony Hawk and the X-Men comics and films. No specific platforms were mentioned, but given the fact that all next-generation consoles will have been on the market for months, it is almost certain the four franchises will be appearing on either the PS3, Revolution, or Xbox 360--or all three.

News from Lik Sang:
This week Konami brings over 20 years of adrenaline-pumping Gradius action to the PSP. Together in one compilation you obtain Gradius I, II, III and IV, plus the PS1 title which was never released in the US, Gradius Gaiden. Still today the gameplay of these can outshine new shooters, with almost mazelike levels jam packed with obstacles to avoid while simultaneously annihilating everything that moves. New features start off with the ability to play in the original arcade orientation, or to make perfect use of the PSP's widescreen for these side scrolling shooters. Likewise there's some graphical upgrades to be found, and a dedicated gallery mode will take you back, letting you enjoy music and cut scenes from the past.

Instead of being thrust back to the beginning when you die, now for the first time you can save and load at any point in each game through the pause screen. Konami have also put more power in your hands, letting you adjust the speed of gameplay and change the hit detection size. This definitive collection of shmup history deserves a spot in every retro fans library, and due before the end of the week, last minute pre-orders are still being accepted for the next couple of days.

Blue2K has released a new version of his Module Based Shell for the PSP and not only that he has a new website for it too, heres the "press release" from him:
<blockquote>With the release of the website a new build of Artillery is available, the 0.06 version. For Artillery this marks the end of a specific range of builds. It will be the last 0.0x version, meaning it has gone beta. The 0.06 also marks the end of the C era for Artillery, I've been working hard to convert the whole shell to C++. Every piece of code was rewritten and checked, making the shell more stable for you, and easier to work with for me. The 0.06 version features everything I've been working on to the point I've stopped working in C. It's new features are:
Homebrew loading
Extensions loading
Full skinning support (windows, icons, etc)
Font support (skinnable too)
Much more...
Another new service provided with the website is Artillery: Live Fire!. This is a service for anyone interested in checking out the latest of Artillery shell. From now on you can download a build updated almost every day. It will contain the latest features, options and graphics. It is basically a version I'm working with on that particular moment. Be warned though, as it is a development build it can contain bugs or might not even work at all. But hey, bleeding edge comes at a price.</blockquote>

Homer has modded the Rin Gameboy Colour Emulator to work on PSPs with a firmware of 2.01 or higher using Fanjitas Eloader, heres the info:
<blockquote>Hi there!
As you may know I'm currently adding features etc. on the newly discovered working RIN Gb(c) emulator for 2.01+.
My first release will just have the menu's etc. in English. But I'll update this as I add more features.
There probably won't be any sound until Fanjita and ditlew release a new version of the eLoader
If the PSP hangs when you're trying to access the menu in the emulator you can use this method to get it working:
1º Make a rom directory like PSP/GAMES/GBAroms/
2º Delete RIN folder complety
3º Download 1.2 and extract in RIN for example
4º Turn off PSP and get out the battery
5º Wait 30 secs
6º Turn on PSP and play emu
7º It should works
Version 1.2:
*Full screen support
*Additional fixes</blockquote>
