Snowblind Studios, the developer behind the likes of Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance and EverQuest-themed action-RPG Champions: Return to Arms, is currently whipping superhero venture Justice League Heroes into shape.
Justice League Heroes is based on the DC Comics superhero team and is in development for Xbox, PS2 and PSP. Due this autumn, the title is an action-adventure with RPG-style character customisation bolted on that finds big-name superheroes - Superman and Batman, for example - teaming up to save the day. Although little on the storyline has been revealed, it has been mentioned that the game boasts an original plot penned by comic book writer Dwayne McDuffie. Apparently, events will take players to the farthest corners of the universe.
Revealing more on the RPG-style customisation element in Justice League Heroes, an official announcement on the game says that each hero in the title "possesses an array of character-specific, upgradeable superpowers resulting in unique controls and fighting styles". It's additionally mentioned that the game features unlockable Justice League superheroes, interactive and destructible environments are included and that combat - and presumably the main event - can be experienced in two-player co-op mode.

modsyn (aka, myself) releases version 2 of the pMEnc encoder.
This version adds the features
- DVD Ripping now works with subtitle/audio track selection.
- Video quality can be controlled with Qscale (or quality
scale) rather OR bitrate. Remember, for qscale, the lower
the number the better the quality.
- Batch encoding. Set up your job and hit the 'Save' button.
Then you can set up as many more jobs as you want. (Doesn't
work with DVDs)
from the author
i've done some pretty extensive testing (converting mutliple DVDs and many anime eps) so all bugs (or my errors) should be taken care of.
the auto crop option most likely will add black bars either on the side or on the top of the video, but it doesn't stretch anything, so no funny long (or short) faces. of course, there's still the option to disregard all aspect information and go fullscreen.
yay, videos. download
ps, source code is included.

You sit around outside and want to play the newest homebrew. But your computer is miles away? You can download and install Hombrew from the web.
It also makes homebrew easier from home. Problems with installation of homebrew are also over now. All downloaded homebrew is automaticly installed in the right place.
In a few days neoflash.com will host a download server with a lot of homebrew. You can update the homebrew manager via homebrew manager

ZX-81 has updated his excellent Texas Intruments Calculator Emulator, heres whats new:
<blockquote>Hi All
I've just released a new version of the PSP TI-92 calculator, it works now with TI-92+ v1.1 ROM !
A reset function has been added in the "application file selector window" in order to reset the emulator (but loosing all data in memory).
PedRom, a TI-92 ROM under GNU licence, is now included in this package. This rom is only usefull to do basic operations and its capabilities can't be compared to the TI ones.
I've tested this version only with 2.5FW. Nevertheless a 1.5FW version tested by SubZero is also available in this archive.
As always sources are included.
That's all folks for me,
Enjoy, Zx.</blockquote>

Sharkus has updated his port of Ur-Quan Masters for the PSP, heres some info:

Rev 002 (Alpha) - 20060320
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Fixed SOME of the stability issues. Melee should work now. There are still some random crashes due to running out of memory. I suggest to save often until I get them fixed... Most of the time you should be able to make it past your buddy at pluto. I also modified the default keys.cfg file to use the O button for the thrust function and the l/r triggers for weapons. IMHO, this makes the game much easier to control. You are welcome to customize the keys.cfg file to your liking.
Hooger has updated his Mini Game written in Lua, heres the info:
Hi. I am very proud to introduce Pointless Torment V2. It is a major step up from v0.5. It has a new menu, based on Xodiac21's menu. Also when you press the L button it changes characters. Mostly every update from now will add at least 1 or more character. A VERY special thanks to GrimFate126!!! without him this would not of happened. The first character is you know it the stick figure dude. but the other two characters will remain a mystery until you try it out. (unless you wanna spoil it for yourself just copy it into your application folder)
Quazal, makers of the Net-Z and Rendez-Vous online multiplayer middleware technologies, and the newly announced Spark! lobby technology, is pleased to announce today that they have been approved for Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (SCEI)'s Tools and Middleware program for PLAYSTATION®3" computer entertainment system, and that versions are ready for evaluation by interested "PLAYSTATION®3" game title developers.
With this approval, Quazal will develop and market networking middleware technologies for the powerful computer entertainment system, much to the delight of dozens of developers and publishers who have been anxious to work with Quazal's Net-Z in-game and Rendez-Vous lobby and matchmaking technologies for "PLAYSTATION®3".
"The next generation of game consoles brings a lot of power to developers, but many of the problems inherent in online gaming remain," said Martin Lavoie, CTO of Quazal. "With true cross-title support, and support for multiple "PlayStation®" platforms developers can save time and money on their online games, while delivering cutting edge features to their end users."
By incorporating Quazal's technology into their game titles, developers and publishers will open the door to low-risk lobby and matchmaking development with Quazal Spark!, as well as the innovative features of Quazal Net-Z and Rendez-Vous. Because of the cross-platform nature of Quazal's technologies, these ideas will be far easier to implement than ever before.
"A developer making a game during this transition period may want to target not only next-generation platforms like "PLAYSTATION®3", but also current generation platforms such as "PlayStation® 2" and "PSPTM" (PlayStation®Portable)," stated Mike Drummelsmith, Developer Relations Manager at Quazal. "With Quazal's technologies, including the new Spark! platform, online games can target all three of these platforms with minimal effort, lowering risk drastically."
Interested parties can contact Quazal at sales@quazal.com for more information and pricing, as well as an evaluation kit for Quazal Net-Z, Quazal Rendez-Vous or Quazal Spark!.
Quazal will be occupying booth #644 at the Game Developers Conference in San Jose, March 22nd to 24th. Any interested parties are encouraged to contact info@quazal.com in order to arrange a meeting, or to simply stop by the booth to learn more about our technologies.
Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) has stated that PS3 will ship with a hard drive included, according to a report on Next-Gen.biz.
Confirmation on the inclusion of a HDD in the PS3 package follows revelations from Sony's Ken Kutaragi at last week's PlayStation Business Briefing that a hard drive is required for gaming on the next-gen console. What wasn't clear at the time though was whether a hard drive would have to be purchased as an extra or would be an out-of-the-box feature. But that all appears to be cleared up now. Phew.
Speaking at the briefing last week, Kutaragi said that the PS3 has been developed with a hard disk in mind, developers asked "to develop games as though all PS3s have the HDD installed." PS3's HDD will be 60Gb in capacity, but will be upgradeable, will run Linux and will perform media hub and home server/network platform services, with Sony additionally saying that the hard drive unit will enhance gameplay and allow for full internet access.
Several leading Japanese publishers have reacted positively to the news that the launch of the PlayStation 3 has been delayed until November, welcoming the additional development time the delay will bring.
According to an article in the Nikkei BP, partially translated by US website Gamespot, a statement from Konami said: "It's very good that the release period has been clarified. In terms of our development schedule, we think that the delay will give us enough time to make sure we deliver better quality in our games."
Square Enix stated: "It's being reported as a 'delay,' but the [PS3's] previously unknown release period has finally become clear, and we are very glad to hear it," while according to Capcom, "The hardware's release period has been set, so we will be throwing in our full effort to develop good games for it."
Bandai confirmed that it already has PS3 titles in development, adding: "We are fundamentally receiving [the announcement] with a favourable view."
And according to Koei, "It will be a major delay, but now that the release date has been decided, we can target it and make work on further quality improvements. We would like to polish up our products so that they will take full advantage of the PS3."
Analysts weighing in on the situation also ignored the failure to meet the proposed spring launch, with American Technology Research analyst PJ McNealy upgrading both Activision and THQ from Hold to Buy, and stock prices across the board showing marked increases for both major and several smaller videogame publishers.
