Mongatard, from PSP3D, has just released a PSP clone of SkiFree, an early '90s classic PC game, So far, all objects working from the original game (except for the monster). Jumping works fine, and even a few button combinations make some tricks in air. Works on all firmware versions too.

xis9 has posted the release of his Portal for users of v2.0 and above PSP consoles, heres what he posted:
Those who wants to try the portal but didn't subscribed, well here's your chance. Pls note that this only beta. Most of the links aren't working yet, and the games' titles are all mixed up. I will try to fix everything on the next version. not only that, I'm going to add more games and applications.
-it will automatically load a different theme during night time. It is similar to psp's theme where we get different color each month, but in this case it's going to be night and day. Thanks to atomic16 for this wonderful idea.
-and News Feed suggested by Macusr.
Curious then check out the Screenshots and Download via Comments and give feedback

(News Submission and New Release for PSP by Sharkus)
Updated to UQM 0.6.2 - R02

New update that should load from uqm file MUCH FASTER!
-Sharkus
--------------
The Ur-Quan Masters 0.6.2
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(i.e. Star Control II)
http://sc2.sourceforge.net/
PSP Version by Sharkus
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Getting Started
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. Copy UQM directories to /PSP/GAME/ directory of memory stick (don't forget to copy the subdirectories as well)
2. Copy UQM 0.6.2 content (http://sc2.sourceforge.net/downloads.php) to /PSP/GAME/UQM/content/packages/ directory (voice and music is optional)
3. Start UQM from the Sony VSH or your favorite launcher.
4. Kick some Ur-Quan ass
I would like to give my thanks to the following list of most excellent people:
- The Ur-Quan Masters Team (http://sc2.sourceforge.net/team.php)
- PSPSDK team from http://ps2dev.org
- TyRaNiD (PSPLINK rocks)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Build Instructions
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
- Get your PSP environment up and running including PSPSDK, SDL, SDL_image, jpeg, libpng, zlib, libTremor (http://ps2dev.org) -- I'm currently using svn rev 1841
- Get UQM 0.6.2 sourcecode
- Apply patch supplied with release
- Run 'make'
~~~~~~~~~
CHANGELOG
~~~~~~~~~
UQM 0.6.2 - Rev 002 (Alpha) - 20081031
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Increased stack size to prevent stack overflows and crashes (especially when starting Melee mode). Spent a lot of time improving load times when using compressed uqm files. It should be at least 2-3 times faster now. Unless there are some critical bugs this will probably my last rev for a while.
UQM 0.6.2 - Rev 001 (Alpha) - 20081026
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I got bored on a long flight to Japan, so I thought I would take a crack at porting the latest and greatest.
It seems to work at least as well as the old version, so I thought some folks might like to run this on their
slim and/or newer firmware (I've tested it briefly on the 5.0M33 firmware). Have fun!
Rev 003 (Alpha) - 20060518
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1.5 compatible EBOOT.PBP icon and sound supplied by Tieske.
The game will run a long time before crashing.
Fixed stack overflow and use latest libc for thread safe malloc/free.
Planet rotation is rendered on the fly (slower but saves ~8 mbytes of memory). Every time a planet is visited free memory is stored to memory.txt file. The UQM source does not currently free resources after they are used so eventually it may run out of memory and crash (although I have not seen that in the 1+ hours I tested).
Rev 002 (Alpha) - 20060320
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Fixed SOME of the stability issues. Melee should work now. There are still some random crashes due to running out of memory. I suggest to save often until I get them fixed... Most of the time you should be able to make it past your buddy at pluto. I also modified the default keys.cfg file to use the O button for the thrust function and the l/r triggers for weapons. IMHO, this makes the game much easier to control. You are welcome to customize the keys.cfg file to your liking.
Rev 001 (Alpha) - 20060318
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is a very rough port at this point. I only have a v1.5 PSP so I have no idea if it will work with the 2.x firmware. This is my first attempt at PSP development so I'm sure there are lots and lots of problems. I've played through the first couple minutes with the standard game and voice packages. Load times are horrible (that will be my next task). I would also like to understand if the temp directory is being written to and move that into RAM (to extend memory stick life). I have not tested any addons so your milage may vary.

There is no doubt that the Sony PSP is a phenomenal hit, apart from playing games you can also view movies on it via UMD or Memory Stick. Watching movies is fun on it's 4.3 inch widescreen TFT display. But what when you want to watch your favourite shows on the PSP ? This is when the Sony MSVR-A10 comes into picture. The A10 has to be connected to your TV or other media device like DVD player etc via AV Input/Output terminals. Video recording is done directly on Memory Stick Pro Duo for playback on the PSP. You can record approximately 4 hours 10 minutes of video at 384 kbps or 2 hours 20 mins of video on a 2GB capacity memory stick. Now with 8GB Memory sticks on the corner the MSVR-A10 will be of great help.
By using memory stick PRO Duo digital broadcast video recording is possible when connected with a digital tuner and television with built in digital tuner. Synchronized video recording is also possible. With external size approximately 215×150.5×35.2mm (width x depth x height), MSVR-A10 weighs approximately 530g.The Sony memory stick video recorder MSVR-A10 will be available from mid April for approximately 25,000 yen ($ 215).

Heres another new Lua release that requires the Lua Player to be installed and adds to the massive amount of Lua Applications for the PSP, heres the info:
it's only very basic at the moment. i will add to the background which buttons play which note but i cannot be bothered at the moment. it is made in lua, but i have put it into an eboot just to stop you from having to load up lua. of course, you can put it in lua if you wish. in time i will hope to add some kind of recording element to it. the buttons are the directions and the shapes. it's not really useful at the moment, as you will soon find out after about a minute of playing. but i just thought if you had a tune in your head, and you needed to know what notes they are, you would be able to get it up on the psp!
features:
when press a button, a note is played.

Those of us who have been following Video Games for many years already know this but Gamerfeed have posted a great article about the biggest mistakes of the Videogame History:
heres an excerpt:
The videogame industry is certainly not perfect. There have been a ton of mistakes and we're here to tell you about them.
The video game industry, let's face it, is not a perfect place. As alive as it is with quality software and great system hardware, there are mistakes that are made that leave the competition reeling and gamers fleeing for better pastures. Here now is a list of some of the most significant mistakes to come down the pike in the industry. I'm sure you're likely to reflect with some of these mistakes, and may even have them somewhere in your gaming collection.
Nintendo Dumps the PlayStation, and Creates a Competitor
Year: 1993
In 1993, Sony approached Nintendo of Japan with an idea for an add-on device for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, still gathering steam in popularity. It was a CD-Rom based add-on that would allow the capability of adding quality music and more content to games. Nintendo was keen on the idea at first, but would eventually drop it, instead opting for some kind of deal involving Philips (which, ironically enough, would lead to the CD-I games we mention later in the article).
But Sony did not stop work on the device. Ken Kutaragi, an employee of Sony at the time, put some further design efforts into the machine and eventually developed it into the PlayStation, a new next-generation game machine that would allow for loading games from CD format for better quality visuals, sound, and processing.
Sony eventually made use of the PlayStation, releasing it onto a worldwide market in 1995. In March '95, it sold phenomenally well in Japan, with such games as Ridge Racer and Battle Arena Toshinden backed behind it. In September '95, a US and European release followed, and the rest is history. The PlayStation remains one of the highest-selling video game platforms in the world, all because Nintendo decided they just weren't up to the CD generation. Imagine if they had kept Sony around.

Worms Open Warfare is the latest offering from Team17. Team17 are the developers responsible for bringing all the previous Worms titles, as well as other titles like Lemmings, to PC and console owners worldwide.
Worms Open Warfare Gameplay.
The basic premise of Worms has always been a simple but highly addictive one. Blow the hell out of other teams’ worms. Sounds simple and, in fact, sounds quite ludicrous but that’s part of its charm. Many of you will have played the original games so you will know what I’m wittering about but the simple 2D graphics, the fine array of weaponry and the sheer joy of prodding your mates off a cliff is almost indescribable and yet, I must try because Worms Open Warfare is available from 22nd March.
Weapons Array.
Worms Open Warfare harps back to the good old days of 2D warfare and brings with it the classic weapons like the unlimited Uzi and shotgun as well as the coveted and highly effective dynamite and land mines, as well as the sometimes satisfying and always explosive homing missile, banana bomb, the sheep and plenty more. There are also utilities that will help you worm around the land like the ninja rope (prepare for numerous heinous suicides until you get the hang of using these properly) and girders or the cowardly teleport option and many more. After all, worms can’t move fast and you are playing against a fairly strict timer. You can, though, jump over gaps, back flip to higher levels and cower behind the scenery (probably best to avoid the landmines and the exploding barrels). If you’re a Worms aficionado then you will notice the lack of later additions like the Holy Hand Grenade but the game doesn’t lack any substance because of it.
The DS Versus The PSP.
Whether you are playing on the DS or the PSP you will be subjected to the same gameplay and, in theory, the same graphics. However, the screen resolution on the PSP will treat you to incredible scenery and backgrounds. The DS version still looks good and is wholly enjoyable you just get a little more sparkle for your money with the PSP. The PSP also allows you to zoom out and view the whole map, giving you a huge advantage in the middle of a battle.
Worms Open Warfare Multiplayer And Summary.
4 Players can link up to play multiplayer battles against one another, or you can simply use one unit and pass it between players as it passes to their turn. The AI can be a little irritating but the single player is still a very good game. However, Worms Open Warfare truly comes into its own in multiplayer slaughter fests against your mates. I’ve already mentioned the satisfaction of prodding your opponent off a cliff, but imagine the joy when they attempt a ninja rope move only to fling themselves desperately into a mine or into the sea. Overall, the Worms accolade lives on in Worms Open Warfare.

Divineo who are one of the biggest suppliers worldwide of Console modchips etc have informed me that the Talismoon Neo Pad 8 in 1 for PSP is to be released any day now. As you can see above this should give the Datel 4gb Hard Drive some competition, it can read SD/MMC/CF/Micro Drive/Micro HD/MS and also acts as a Battery Re-charger as well as controller Pad for PSP and comes with a 4gb hard drive too.
Sounds impressive and looks decent too, check out the Divineo Network for more info.

Pacmanfan had this to say in his update thread
I know everyone is dying for an update (or a file release). Currently, I'm working on some issues getting the Eboot to run on a real PSP. I've been working primarily with the PSPE emulator, and the dynaimc recompiler works fine, however, I'm having somewhat random crashes getting it to work on the real PSP.
It actually works fine as long as file debugging is turned on, but when I turn off my logging, or try to comment out the file writes in the file debugging code, the PSP crashes. I think it has to do with the CPU registers being saved before file writes. I need to figure out why (or what) is causing corruption of the registers during run-time. I suspect it's another thread. The dynamic compiler definately DOES work on the PSP.
One issue that I'm still having with the PSPSOne emulator is GPU interrupts not being handled correctly all the time. I beleive it's because my program counter variable is being updated only while branching.
One other thing that I'm going to do is change the architecture of the plugin system to integrate the GPU Plugin code directly into the project, instead of being called through a function pointer system. There are several unnecessary layers of function calls being made every time I write to the GPU memory, This can be optimized for better speed, as well as normal memory reads/writes.
Another thing I'm doing, is converting the project to work with the PSPSDK. I know this may sound strange, but I used a smaller psplib.c file with limited functionality in it, as well as my own startup.s code. This is the same code that I used to build Quake before there was a PSPSDK.
I can post a binary that works in the PSPE emulator if everyone wants, but I think you all can wait till I iron out a few issues with the PSP version.
Hopefully, I'll have something for everyone to see soon. Be patient,rest assured that I'm still working on this, and devoting a lot of time to it.
-PMF out
