Two of Sega's anticipated spring titles will see a delay in Japan. The company today announced it will push back the release of Chromehounds for Microsoft's Xbox 360 from May 25 to June 29, and Myst for Sony's PlayStation Portable from April 20 to June 15. Sega has said the extra time is being used to make sure the games meet quality standards. No North American release dates for either game have been announced.

Bored of your Sony PSP in plain old black and white? How would you like one with wood panelling, with styling just like your gran's old wartime radio?
Sadly, this PSP doesn't live outside of a graphics package. It was created for Worth1000, a Photoshop competition site. Aspiring artists are given 48 hours to create a Photoshop masterpiece based on a specified criteria - in this case, modern technology with a vintage twist.

There's been a lot of media about the features of the up coming Playstation 3 and the Playstation Network. If you've been hiding under a rock, some of the more important news is that the Playstation 3 is being released world wide in November. It will be supporting the Blu-Ray standard, provide high definition 1080p television output and contain the revolutionary Cell processor.
Some of the more interesting news is centred around the newly announced Playstation Network. A complete online network to support the Playstation family of devices, Playstation 3, Playstation Portable and Playstation 2. Sony Computer Entertainment President Phil Harrison outlined some of the features during the Game Developers Conference recently. Features disclosed included Instant Messaging, voice and video chat, aswell as movie and music downloads. However, none of these features directly affect the homebrew PSDEV community.
Of interest to our community is that the Playstation 3 will come with Linux pre-installed on the hard disk. As some of you will be aware, the most recent published Linux release comes with Cell support built in. Up until now, it hasn't been clear what support for homebrew PSDEV users the Playstation 3 will provide. Thanks to an anonymous employee of Sony Japan, I can now confirm that Playstation Network will support the homebrew community! This is an excerpt of what I received a few days ago.
As you probably know, the PS3 will ship with the latest linux kernel
installed on the HDD. There has been a lot of debate in here to decide
if linux will be open to users. But thankfully Ken has really been
pushing to open up the platform. They plan on releasing this info
during E3, but I knew how important it was to you guys. I can only
give you the basics. You can find out the rest of the details
in may.
Phil released a lot of details about the Playstation Network at GDC,
but left some details out. In addition to the
social-networking stuff like IM, voice and video chat, Playstation
Network will let users upload their own content to sell to the
community. But what is really great is that the platform will be
open, so that you can develop games on linux, then upload and
even sell them. We're going to open up the full micopayment system
to everyone. Guys like you will be able to develop mini games
and sell them for 10c each.
I did some checks with a couple of people before posting this, and I can 100% confirm that it is legit! There was also the following slide displayed at GDC showing the open internet business philosophy.
From what people tell me, it seems they can offer these features because linux allows them to lock down some parts of the Playstation 3. All I can say is, thanks Sony for finally realising the importance of homebrew. Playstation l33t, here we come.

At the 2006 Consumer Electronics Show in January, Sony announced that it would launch a revamped version of its Connect download service. Launched in May 2004, the service has struggled to compete with iTunes. As outlined by executives at the event, the new service would offer even more media than Apple's megapopular iTunes, such as books and games.
At Sony's main presentation at CES, Sony Computer Entertainment executive John Kohler took the stage and explicitly said that the service would be available this month. "One of the key news announcements that came out today from Sony Connect is the Connect video download service that will allow consumers to download feature-length movies and shorts to their PSP," said Kohler. "This feature will be available in March." The game and book services were expected to go online later this year.
However, now it appears that Sony will miss its own self-imposed deadline. With only hours left in the month, the Connect Web site remains the same, offering a limited number of selections in the company's proprietary ATRAC audio format.
If it doesn't go up later today, when will the new PlayStation Portable-enabled Connect launch? For now, that is unclear. As of press time, Sony reps had not returned requests for comment.

PSMonkey has posted news of an update of his work on the Nintendo 64 emulator for the PSP:
I NOW FINALY (took long enough) have 3d somewhat working on the emulator. Automobile lambergini is now showing 3d elements. This lovely flag is all done in 3d (the two squares behind it are 2d logo & press start text). Yes textures are off and the flag looks funny but that is due to bugs in the 3d (need to add more to the rdp to clear the psp's z-buffer).
Once I can clean up more code and fix a few things, I will post some more screenshots. Hopefuly with a good push over the weekend I will have a brand new build up early next week. So lets all enjoy and wait for more screenshots to flow in over the weekend till we all get to play this next week
Sounds excellent, check out the full info here --> http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=21618 or the official site here --> http://nemo.dcemu.co.uk

Like the proud parent of a toddler who has just mastered walking, Capcom has announced that its dragon-slaying action RPG, Monster Hunter Freedo, has become the biggest selling PSP game in Japan, with 515,828 copies sold to date. (Or at least, by the time Capcom prepared its press release – we suspect it will have managed to shift a few more games since.)
Why is this important? Well, we always get a little tingle of joy when a game is successful, but more importantly it often tends to be a decent indicator of how good it is. It's by no means infallible – obviously different territories have different gaming tastes, and marketing can also play a major role – but as a rough guide it can be useful.
And in this case it's particularly significant because we've yet to see the game released over here. Monster Hunter Freedom's smash hit status should therefore give you additional reason to keep an eye out for it when it does eventually stomp its way into Europe on 12th May.
