Im sure that many of you who visit other sites in the PSP scene will have no doubt heard or seen the supposed screens of the menu of Sonys Unreleased PSone emulator for the PSP which for those of you who dont know will cost you cash per game and certainly wont be free.
The Price of the games in news articles ive seen points to a $15 dollar but i would say thats a high price or only for the very top of the range PSone games, i would think that a maximum of $10 is much more likely.
As for the emulator itself i reckon they will use a process like Bleemcast did and that is optimize each game for use on the PSP, making full use of the widescreen. How they are going to get around the controls is going to be interesting although its quite conceivable that they could bring out a mini PS2 controller that plugs into the USB port on top of the PSP.
The games if downloadble will use some type of DRM to stop piracy and most likely the emulator will be well hidden away.
Remember that anything you read on sites is pure speculation until Sony divulge details themselves, sure its nice to see screens but if they are indeed fakes then it does rather let you in for a backlash from the members of the PSP scene.
Lets see where the PSP emu from Sony goes. What we really need is a Bleemcast for PSP

One of the most charming Sony Computer Entertainment titles will be seeing an update on the PSP. The latest issue of Famitsu has first details on Boku no Natsuyasumi Portable, a remake of the year 2000 PlayStation debut entry in the series that saw a year 2002 followup on the PlayStation 2.
Boku no Natsuyasumi lets players experience life as a young boy on summer vacation away from home, near the sea. Over the course of a month, you take part in a number of activities, including fishing and bug collecting.
Bug collection is a major part of the game. In addition to looking up details on the bugs that you've added to your collection, you can also make your bugs face off in bug sumo wrestling contests. Bugs can be found everywhere, from rivers to forests and on the mountainside.
The full name of the PSP remake is Boku no Natsuyasumi Portable: Mushi Mushi Hakase to Teppen Yama no Himitsu. Translated to English, this becomes My Summer Vacation Portable: Professor Mushi Mushi and the Secret of Teppen Mountain. The PSP version adds new scenarios and characters and ups the bug variety to over 128. Ad-Hoc connectivity is included, allowing players to exchange bugs with other players.
Set for release, like its predecessors, exclusively in Japan, Boku no Natsuyasumi Portable will arrive on 6/29.

The PSP was touted as an amazing console with the look of a porsche and awesome graphics in game and with the addition of what is an amazing homebrew scene but has it lived up to the expectations that sold it to you in the first place.

Story from Lik Sang
We received a product last week that we thought to be an April fool, but apparently the maker was seriously thinking of selling it to you [through us]. If there was an award for the most useless video game peripheral ever made, this Cooling Fan for the PSP would be a strong contender for sure. When holding it in our hands we thought this was just another of those cooling fans that capitalize on the paranoid fear that some gamers have to live with: what if my beloved system would overheat?! Except usually, cooling fans are made for living rooms consoles or computers that have ventilation holes in them, and you know what, in the case of the Xbox or the Xbox 360, looking at the demand for replacement power supplies, cooling fans sometimes even kind of make sense. But for a small tiny PSP with no ventilation holes at all, you can see how it becomes kind of pointless.
Never the less, since we’re professional technicians here we never finalize a decision without testing the product sample, and that's where it got really hilarious. That thing plugs onto the back of your PSP and blows a bit of air through the very thin gap at the back of your UMD slot, and on the top of your screen as well. The amount of air that actually enters the UMD compartment is probably close to zero, and it obviously makes no difference there. On top of the LCD display, the power of the fan is far from being enough to even get some dust moving... if that even was the point (who knows really, I still couldn’t find *any* point in the gadget by that stage). In fact, when putting the fan 2 millimeters away from our faces, we realized it doesn’t even blow strongly enough for us to feel "some" wind on our faces. Nada. A two year old living next door blowing out the candles on his cake has more impact on the heat inside of your PSP than this item. The packing claimed that it would extend the lens life by two years!
The PSP Cooling Fan smells a lot like a rip-off for tourists who are drunk while shopping through the local Mong Kok street market. Once you get sober and find out not only the girl was uglier than you thought, but that you also shouldn't have bought that useless piece of tech that never made any sense to anybody, including the maker, you go back to the Mong Kok street outlet to return it, only to find out it moved three blocks away and the owner tells you "no warranty, no return" after failing to recognize you for ten minutes. In one short sentence that speaks volumes: good stuff -- but not Lik Sang material.

Porn has been one of the major underground movements on the PSP so far, and it will likely stay that way. But Capcom is taking some official steps with the next best thing: hot, big-breasted Japanese girls in bathing suits.
The latest issue of Famitsu has first details on Capcom's Finder Love, a series of PSP adventure titles that, in place of anime chicks, use real life images and video footage of hot Japanese idols. You play as a newbie cameraman who must get the girls to look their best during photo shoots.
Finder Love has two main areas of play: an adventure part and a photography part. The adventure part looks like a standard Japanese text-driven adventure title where you listen and read dialogue from the girls and select your path every now and then, leading to events. During the photography part, you snap pictures as the girls move about, your goal being to get an S rank, which leads to more shutter opportunities.
As you work through a storyline in the adventure mode, you'll end up playing a few mini games. One game has you guide one of the idols through a maze. Succeed, and you'll get some one-on-one time with the girl in a bath towel!
Three idols will be included in the first batch of Finder Love games: Fumina Hara (birthday: 5/22, blood type: 0, height: 166cm, sizes: 84/58/84), Risa Kudo (birthday: 10/4, blood type: A, height: 162cm, sizes: 85/58/84) and Aki Hoshino (birthday: 3/14, blood type: O, height: 165cm, sizes: 88/56/87). You'll get to shoot these girls in all sorts of clothing, from swim suits to maid outfits, and in a variety of locations, including a spa and on a massage table!
Finder Love will be released to Japan on 6/29, with each idol starring in her own package: Finder Love Risa Kudo: First Shot wa Kimi to (First Shot is with You), Finder Love Aki Hoshino: Nankoku Trouble Rondeavu (Southern Country Trouble Rondeavu), and Finder Love Fumina Hara: Futari no Futari de (this one doesn't translate so well into English, but it's something like "Our time together which is ours"). In addition to the standard 5040 yen package, each title will be released as a special 9,030 yen limited edition.

PSMonkey posted this update on his work on the N64 emulator for the PSP:
Ok I pretty much fixed my issue with 3d not showing up. I get 3d now but stuff is not transformed properly (it was not being transformed properly last time). So I am going to try fixing this tonight & hopefuly I will have something to show for it tomorrow.
No build this week. Sorry I know I said I would but things are still not correct yet. Once they are then 100% a build is going up that same day. If by luck it happens this friday/weekend then it will be posted but at the moment I highly dout it.

ComputerZen posted an interview with Doug Beck, heres a little from that interview:
Scott: What's the OS for the PSP?
Doug: It's running Sony's ever-updating OS. In just over a year Sony has updated the OS via firmware updates (required to play the latest games) approximately 5 times.
Scott: What kind of stuff are they changing? The public thinks they are chasing security stuff, but what's it mean for the dev? Do functions change?
Doug: The PSP itself is a remarkable piece of equipment. Not only does it have an amazing screen, and optical DVD drive, Playstation 2-like graphics hardware, and 802.11 wireless networking, it's sexy to boot! They are addressing security issues and updating the main component apps (photo, video, music, games) of the device in the patches, but they are also making major additions to the platform. They've added a web browser, RSS feeds, a 'sling-box' like client that allows you to stream live or recorded TV from home. They've also added support for more video formats and general user interface improvements. But the unannounced improvements that are coming to the PSP platform are the most impressive. By next year at this time, everyone's PSPs will be transforming to much more than they are now through firmware updates.
As the firmware updates there are a few growing pains for developers but it's generally minor changes to support the latest firmware. When they jumped to the 2.0 firmware they made some particularly large changes to certain systems that required studios like ours to invest a fair amount of time getting everything working.

Heres an excerpt
So, you've got yourself a nice shiny PSP. How are you enjoying it? Liberty City Stories is great, as is Ridge Racer. FIFA Soccer you could probably live without, but there's always Everybody's Golf. All in all, it's still a gorgeous bit of kit.
But what about when the gaming stops? What about those times when you just want to veg out on a plane or a bus and catch up on a TV episode or watch a DVD rip, rather than taxing your brain with something interactive? This is when you need the PSP's video capabilities.
The Sony allows you to transfer video to the PSP's Memory Stick Duo card via a straight USB 2.0 hookup. There are lots of prerequisites you need for video to work.

One of the features not advertised by Sony, but widely advertised by PSP users/enthusiasts, is the ability to convert video files to a format which the PSP likes for watching on the go. I've scoured the Internet looking for "How would I convert videos for the PSP with one of my Linux machines?" - only to be skunked every time.
However, with all the tools for Mac OS X and Windows, I discovered a common theme. EVERY ONE was using FFmpeg. EVERY ONE. Well hey, FFmpeg was developed on Linux in the first place, right? How hard can this be?
Thats from the tutorial at this site --> http://www.linuxpspvideo.org/
