Blackshark has released a new Doom Mod for the PSP, heres the release details:
I have here my very first Doom maps from when I first started doom mapping.(7th Grade i believe) any way, Lately ive been working on my Doom Port and needed a set of maps that I can edit to test the engine out. Well, these are the maps Ill be using, I figured there pretty fun so Im desiding to release them to you guys. These maps work on the normal DoomPSP .5 plus, you shouldn't have any problems, I fixed them up, tested...tested....and tested once more, giving them revisions and so forth so they work good and play good on the psp. Level 4 is my favorite, for its diversity!

Not a lot of info is out yet on Pixar's summer release Ratatouille, but THQ has let out word that before the movie hits theaters in June, you'll be able to play the game adaptation on your PSP. There aren't much details about any version of the game besides the next-gen one, but if the PSP version is similar, it'll be an action platformer. Will the collective Ratatouille games be the best selling game of this year like Cars was last year? Either way, I'm looking forward to the movie and hoping the game is a worthwhile experience as well.

In March, there will come a few new multiplayer modes of play for the PS3 launch title Resistance: Fall of Man. Soon after, in May, there will come a few new maps. This is exciting news for anyone who has learned the layout of every map and is pretty much bored of the same running route or always playing capture the flag... or whatever. Anyway, the two new gameplay modes are "Team Conversion" and "Assault".
Team Conversion: like Conversion, but with a team. Neat?
Assault: essentially, both teams have a base they need to defend and they also have a set of defense nodes and satellite nodes that, if destroyed, weaken the "defenses" of their main base. We guess that means the "health bar" for the main base would decrease. Overtaken satellite nodes become neutral -- a spawning point for both teams. Dangerous!
Other fixes have been made for the March patch. Spectators can join custom games and use a player's eyes as his own, along with a free-roaming camera so you can see that sniper in the bushes even if the player doesn't. All glitches and collision holes have been fixed. Matchmaking is quicker and more reliable. Weapons tweaked; the old radar has been added as an option if you want it.
What's in store for May? Well, how does worldwide play sound to you? A nice addition, indeed. Also, the map pack will be made available for purchase and download within the game. Both maps are set in England: one in Westmorland, one in Camborn. The former is snowy and very open, the latter has both above ground and subterranean combat. These aren't rehashed maps, either -- they've brand new and specifically designed for multiplayer.

A 1Upper landed an early copy of the retail version of God of War II. As a source told us last week, the instruction manual has an advertisement for God of War for the Playstation Portable on back cover.
The ad shows the familiar God of War symbol with PSP written in the middle of it and Coming 2007 underneath.
Unless someone happened to photoshop what a different tipster told us a week ago, this rumor sounds like it is confirmed. If it's true you can bet on the official unveiling coming at GDC next week. It sounds like Sony is going to be belting out a lot of interesting and exciting news at this year's event.

Forget that Virtual Console hullabaloo over in Wii land, here's a slim PS2 that comes prepped with a nice little collection of NES games right out of the box -- zero Wii Points required! That's right, the New Slim 2 does it up 14-in-1 style, with classics like Super Mario, Galaxian and Duck Hunt. Unfortunately, it looks like somebody plum forgot PS2 compatibility while they were in the throes of a complete and utter disregard for copyright law, so perhaps our $32 wouldn't be so well spent after all.

this is my windows theme, having a little trouble with the rco editor so i will update this as soon as i fix a bug with some of the icons.
Ive tested it and everything (apart from some icons just being white blocks) seems to be in order.
i'm pretty sure the only thing to get these themes running is theme psp,
also, the background is the defualt background for windows, so the clouds kinda hide some of the writing, so far it's coming along, sort of...

Freeplay has released an unofficial upgrade for the Liberty City Stories Cheat Device.
This version should allow you to use the cheat device on firmwares, from 2.00 to 3.03.
Heres whats new:
I hacked version 1.0d of the LCS cheat device so that it uses save slot #9, which makes the exploit work on firmwares 2.71 through 3.03. This should make it possible to run the cheat device on all firmwares from 2.00 through 3.03. I've tested it on 2.00, 2.71, and 3.03, and it works on all of those. For some reason, 2.70 didn't work.

News from Sleepy566:
Hi! This is pretty much a major fix of my last version that needed to be done.
I had previously stated that 3.11 could be installed, but looking into my code I realized there were quite a few missing lines of code that added support for 3.11. I have fixed that, and it now supports 3.11 completely.
This program should run on all firmwares, it will dump and decrypt everything from 1.00 -> 3.11 and put it in the correct place on your memory stick.
Anyways, to use it you need to have the latest Devhook (available in the download) installed. Just extract everything in the ZIP file to the root of your memory stick, and you will be all set!
Enjoy, and if you find any errors or bugs please post them.

Supposedly, the PSP version of Oblivion was supposed to come out next month. But, considering the complete lack of updates on this highly anticipated game, we were skeptical, to say the least. Looks like the game's been pushed back ... all the way to September. GameStop is reporting the ship date as 9/3, a delay as massive as the game itself. Hopefully, this will go a long way in improving its quality.

Square Enix has shown a lot of love to the PSP lately and that's why PSP owners should keep special interest in one of their upcoming events. Square Enix has announced that they'll be having the Square Enix Party 2007 on May 12-13 in Tokyo, Japan. They'll host the event at the Makuharai Fair and will show off current and upcoming games in trailer and playable forms. Since there are several Square Enix PSP projects it should be an interesting event.
Maybe Final Fantasy: Crisis Core will be playable at the event and better yet, maybe more new titles will be announced.

After peeling myself away from reading Homer's The Odyssey and completing a research paper in a Marketing course (the subject was Electronic Gaming Monthly, actually), I recalled that I had yet to announce all the new goodies available on the PlayStation Network. Many of you may know this by now, but we're going to tell you nonetheless.
First up, that long-awaited PSP-gone-PS3 title, Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection is up and waiting for your $19.99... and you know what? It's games like these that really show the power of the PlayStation Network -- downloading a full game, with tons of little extras, and load times that make the PSP cry. Seriously, battles are nigh instantaneous. Also available now is a behind the scenes look at MotorStorm. Not really sure why you'd go for that, but if you just can't get enough of motors or of storms, it's probably extremely interesting to see how it all came together. Personally, I'll have to pass. Excited for MotorStorm, but not that excited. There's also a Ridge Racer 7 demo and a trailer for the Nancy Drew movie. Well, hope you guys are enjoying your PS3's! I've noticed a lot more people online a lot more often the past week. Glad to see it!
