Already widely considered the most authentic baseball simulation available, the franchise now introduces the all-new Road to The Show mode, enabling gamers to play both offense and defense from the created player’s perspective. Providing an even more realistic experience from the mound, the all-new New Pitch Command System (PCS) delivers unsurpassed strategy to pitch selection, as a pitcher’s “pitch comfort” will be predetermined based on a best to worst pitch scenario. It is up the gamer to decide if he/she should try to “work on a pitch” or just go with what is working. Additionally, with the Adaptive Pitching Intelligence (API) feature, catchers will call the game based on the individual strengths and weaknesses of each pitcher as well as analyze tendencies of batters. Gamers will now have the ability to either trust the pitches called by the catcher or shake them off.

Newly released for PSP
In the year 2049, the governments of the world switched to unmanned aircraft for combat in an attempt to save lives. By doing so, they decommissioned thousands of jets and their fighter pilots, ironically destroying the livelihood of those they were trying to save. Years later, these planes appeared on the black market and were sold to the highest bidders. It wasn't long before an underground emerged, featuring ex-fighter pilots, smugglers and wealthy hobbyists piloting the decommissioned aircraft. In a competition of fight and flight, these pilots heavily modify their jet fighters to outrace and outduel the competition to win fame, glory and fortune. Welcome to the world of M.A.C.H.

Earlier today, gaming blog Kotaku reported on a rumored PlayStation 3 feature, set to be unveiled during next week's Game Developer's Conference. The key word, of course, is "rumored," a word which has since gotten the blog into hot water with Sony. The original article, which boasted one anonymous source, a smattering of founded speculation and repeated use of the aforementioned keyword, detailed "PlayStation Home," a visual mixture of the Xbox 360's achievement system and the Wii's customizable avatars.
Though most rumors come and go with little input from publishers ("no comment" has become de rigueur), this one became notable as soon as Kotaku was asked to take it down. In a calm and straightforward follow-up article, Kotaku's Brian Crecente reveals that the blog's failure to comply has led to a complete dismissal and excommunication from Sony. It seems clear that such a response lends the rumor more veracity, but the response itself is far more interesting in what it means for the rest of the blogosphere.
What did Kotaku do wrong? In contacting Sony for comment on the initial story, Crecente was informed that publishing the report could harm the business relationship between the two entities. Unresponsive to thinly-veiled threats, Crecente published the story, citing concern with informing readers and not with maintaining a corporation's announcement schedule. In an e-mail to Crecente, David Karakker, senior director of Sony's corporate communications, stated that, "I am very disappointed that after trying to work with you as closely as possible and provide you and your team with access and information, you chose to report on this rumor.... I can't defend outlets that can't work cooperatively with us."
This doesn't appear to be an issue of cooperation at all. It's an issue of control. A major corporation is lashing out at a news platform where it is unable to pull all the strings and directly exert influence. In the ideal world of public relations, journalists would regurgitate press releases verbatim with nary a thought spared to truth or timing. All this comes just a week before GDC and Sony's promised meeting with bloggers -- the opening of a dialogue between "us" and "them."
By doing our job and informing readers, have we become the enemy?
[Update: Sony and Kotaku have settled their differences and reopened communications. As Brian Crecente puts it, "We were doing our job and Sony was doing theirs and now we can both continue to do so." Thanks AssemblyLineHuman.]

Im sure we posted about this before but gizmodo have new details on the 8GB Mem Stick heading to PSP.
Sony announced it's raising the capacity of its Memory Stick Pro Duo to 8GB. Going on sale in Japan on March 9 for $325, the eight-gig flash memory cards won't work with all Sony VAIO laptops or Cybershot cameras—only with those sold in 2007. The good news is that your PlayStation Portable (PSP) will accept the new flash cards, but you'll need to be running firmware version 2.81.
Of course, Sony has such a proprietary mindset that some of its products aren't compatible with its own proprietary memory sticks. You might want to check the compatibility page (which doesn't include the 8GB Memory Stick yet, but promises to do so soon), listing the dozens of Sony products and telling you which one of the company's Memory Sticks will work with each. It's like navigating through a maze. Not amazing at all.
Lets hope Dark ALex Firmware will support these

Rockstar will release the very first trailer from Grand Theft Auto IV on March 29.
A little teaser page with a countdown timer has been set up on the company's website. Go ahead and watch those seconds, minutes, hours and days tick down.
What will the trailer reveal? We're on tenterhooks...
Earlier in the week speculation broke out that the sequel is to use the euphoria engine featuring in LucasArts' Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, and it's also been revealed that Rockstar will begin releasing episodic content for GTA IV in 2008.
So, the first glimpse of all that GTA IV goodness on March 29, with the full game releasing on PS3 and Xbox 360 simultaneously around October 17 this year.

Bloody violence and torso-slicing is rife in a new gameplay trailer from Dark Sector, Digital Extremes' stealth-action game that flings you into a near future where bio-weapons have unleashed hell and havoc.
In the game, you play Hayden Tenno, a character with the ability to morph into different combat forms whose signature weapon is a massive damage Frisbee. Can it slice opponents in half? Yep. And dispatch enemies in other gruesome and imaginative ways? Oh yes. Nice. View the trailer for the full-on gore.
It looks a bit Splinter Cell mixed with Resident Evil, in our mind. We'll be bringing you more details on the game in the not-too-distant future. In the meantime, enjoy the footage.
We're currently expecting Dark Sector to release at the end of the year.

LucasArts has started work on a handheld title based on its CG Clone Wars TV show, according to Develop magazine.
Clone Wars will be the first internally developed handheld title for LucasArts, handled by its newly-expanded sister studio LucasArts Shanghai, which was originally setup in 2005 to produce digital film content.
Ex-Psygnosis and EA veteran Feargus Carroll takes the role of project lead, bringing with him 12 years of experience working on titles such as Freedom Fighters, Black & White 2 and Battlefield: Modern Combat.
From the look of Carroll's previous titles you can probably imagine what sort of vibe the Star Wars title will adopt. We're guessing it's going to have lots of clone troopers to order around and the occasional lightsaber fight with a big bad Sith. In fact, we'd bet a tenner on it.
We'll let you know if we're right when we get our first look at the game, probably at some point this year.

While stealing gaming consoles from cancer patients is just wrong, you can't blame someone for holding stuff ransom when owed a bunch of cash. Des Moines, Iowa resident James Kloppenburg awoke Monday morning to find a glass panel removed from the front storm door, and more disturbingly, his PS2 nowhere in sight. He reported the theft, stating he already knew the equipment would be returned if he payed the disgruntled burglar an undisclosed amount of owed gas money. However, it was written in the police report that "James changed his mind and told me he didn't want charges filed against (the suspect.)" The offender was obviously close to the victim, aware that Kloppenburg's despair would not stem from the missing console, but more so from a memory card full of hundreds of hours of gameplay, and very likely, a neglected social life. So let this be a lesson to all you deadbeat ride-mooching gamers: you better pay up if you wanna play up.

Alright, so just days after trashing rumble as a "last generation feature," it appears that Sony cut a deal with Immersion (AKA the company which owns the patents on force-feed back stuff for controllers) paving the way for them to potentially add this "last generation feature" to their next generation console. Looks like Sony more or less caved here. They're paying Immersion the full sum awarded to them by a Federal District Cour, plus interest, and the two companies have agreed to enter into a "a new business agreement to explore the inclusion of Immersion technology in PlayStation® format products." So when do we finally see rumble in the PS3?

I made this application because i found it taking too long to go through and copy files from the pc to the psp then to flash. I made this for personal use but i realized it can be of good use to many people. It includes lots of great apps created by other dev's not me AND I TAKE NO CREDIT FOR THEIR WORK. I wanted to add great apps like these in mine because i wanted something that i can use so that i wouldn't have to go looking around all over my computer (i have a lot of stuff on my computer considering i have 600gb of memory ) so i added all of the things into one great app that will convert/create files then also flash them!
NOTE YOU MUST RUN THIS APPLICATION FROM YOUR PC TO PSP VIA FLASH0 USB IMPLEMENTED IN 3.03 OE-C AND 3.1X OE+ recovery
please leave feedback and your thoughts
please report bugs!

Art has released the source code to his X-Flash app for the PSP, heres the details:
Hi Guys,
Regrettably, I won't be able to update X-Flash in the near future, due to work
commitments.
I was only planning to add support for one later DAX firmware, since the topmenu_plugin
mods don't work after that.
The release if X-Flash source code does not mean that I won't update it someday.
It is quite likely that one day, out of nowhere, an official V19 will appear unexpectedly
I must warn PSP owners against using any derivative.. how do I put it...
attempted updated produced by lamers.
I would find it offensive to see X-Flash updates
with no real merrit appearing on forums, although I expect it to happen.
X-Flash has become diffucult program to keep up with myself, let alone somone
else coming allong and trying to understand it.
The released source is not obfuscated in any way. The three letter variable
names are left as original, and many of them did mean something to me.
Please do not ask for support. You will not recieve any from me for the same
reason that I cannot produce updates.
X-Flash source is released for educational purposes for all the people who
wanted to know how I did various things.., not to encourage offspring.

Cheers, Art.

Namco Bandai just announced Smash Court Tennis 3 for the PSP. It'll feature 16 tennis stars, including Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Justine Henin. "We are thrilled to announce that the next iteration of our popular Smash Court Tennis series is set to appear on the PSP system," said Makoto Iwai, Executive Vice President and COO of Namco Bandai Games. "With the franchise's signature gameplay and new enhancements, Smash Court Tennis 3 is the perfect on-the-go package that's made for a jet-setting tennis pro."
Virtua Tennis will be the game to beat for Namco's next. However, there's one feature that I'm particularly psyched about: the ability to compete against other PSP owners with a single UMD through Game Sharing. It's a horribly under-utilized system: being able to play tennis against any other PSP owner should offer a great deal of potential.

Heres an excerpt
Here are some words we won't be using in this preview: "hi-octane", "adrenaline-fuelled", "Penguin". That's because, unlike the flagrantly unimaginative language we tend to haul out when a new arcade racer rears its ugly head, EA's Burnout series has just about managed stay the right side of hackneyed. Despite annual updates, Burnout has successfully tweaked and reinvented its formula with each new iteration, constantly surpassing itself to keep its rightful place as king of the speed-obsessed pack.
So then, it seems only fair that Burnout Dominator should take a congratulatory look at its heritage and reinterpret one of its most popular past features to form the heart of the new game. Of course, we're talking about Burnouts, last seen in Burnout 2. As Nick Channon, senior producer on Burnout Dominator explains, "With Dominator, we felt there was the opportunity to go back a little to the essence of the Burnout experience: driving as dangerously as you can, avoiding the crash. We wanted to return to that sense of weaving in and out of traffic, doing near-misses, really controlling with long drifts. The one thing we've been itching to do for a while is bring back Burnouts. Not just bring them back though, but build the game around it".
