New from Slasher
SLASH-N-FLASH-
-------------
- Team Duck -
-------------
* This is for just about any custom firmware version, including 3.03 OE-C, AND 3.10 OE-A. *
I TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY IF YOU HAPPEN TO BRICK YOUR PSP. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. ONLY FLASH FILES IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING.
This is basically a generic flasher which can flash whatever files your heart desires. I've tried to make the process as simple and noob friendly as possible. Please bare with me while I try to explain how this works.
~
So basically you have the basic program, SlashNFlash & SlashNFlash%.
Inside of the folder SlashNFlash, there's another folder promptly named 'folders'. You can create as many folders in this 'folders' folder as you want and configure each folder to flash a specific file. I've included most of the more popular flashes as examples. But please, keep in mind, you can create AS MANY FOLDERS AS YOU WANT FOR AS MANY FILES AS YOU WANT. There is no limit.
Now inside each of these folders you MUST have a last.txt(can be empty), and a destination.txt(MUST include the path of where you want the file to be flashed).
And now you can just stick all the files in each of these folders and flash them to the corresponding destination as many times as you'd like.
~
There is now also another option in which you can actually browse your memorystick and choose whichever files you want and flash them where you need to.
~
You can also include a screenshot of the particular file you are trying to flash. Just make sure the screenshot is a PNG or JPG, and is named the same as its corresponding file.
V1 - 03/06/07
--
~ Shows all files located in their corresponding folders
~ New FileBrowser Option
- Browse your memstick and flash any file you want to
- Delete any file you want
~ USB Mode
~ Change the default folder
- ms0:/SlashNFlash/
- OR
- SlashNFlash/Folders/
~ Various error checks to ensure a safe flash
~ Preview Mode is back
Thanks
- Slasher

Square Enix recently revealed some new details regarding the upcoming PlayStation Portable version of Final Fantasy Tactics. According to producer Akitoshi Kawazu, the game's balance will be deliberately left unchanged. Making use of the PSP's wireless connectivity features, the development team has implemented a versus mode and cooperative play. These modes will offer certain exclusive features, such as special items and traps.
The Japanese market will be expecting this game on May 10, 2007 for 4,800, or $40.00 USD

The PSP has been selling quite well recently and I figured some new PSP owners may not know what great games the system has to offer. With that in mind, every day this week we'll feature a new genre and list the top 5 games (according to metareviews), so no matter what you're into, you'll have some idea of what games you should own. Today the focus is on Fighting games, a genre that used to be one of the biggest things in gaming, but has lost some popularity with time. I'm still a big fighting game fan though, so I had to make this list.
Top 5 Fighting games on PSP
Tekken: Dark Ressurrection
WWE Smackdown! vs. RAW 2006
Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX
Def Jam Fight for NY: The Takeover
Guilty Gear Judgement
This list doesn't include import games like Bleach or Naruto, so my personal list of best fighting games would be different. But what do you think about these 5 games? What fighting games aren't on this list that you think every PSP owner should have?

Phil Harrison's conference has come and gone, and although the audience was cheering throughout, Sony has proved one thing: the PSP doesn't matter. Well, at least not to Sony's "Game 3.0" idea. The PSP is able to do everything the PS3 can: use wi-fi, download files, take pictures, display video, and more. Why not incorporate a PSP version of Home, instead of making a "Virtual PSP" on the PS3? Why not add the Playstation Network to the PSP? The complete absence of Sony's handheld makes me believe that the platform simply doesn't matter to them right now: let's hope I'm wrong.
Expect some very specific PSP-prodding at Sony's bloggers meeting tomorrow.

At last night's Sony media briefing, Sony unveiled a plethora of new games and features for their next-gen home console, the PS3. Suspiciously absent was the PSP. Well, almost. Playstation Home, the PS3's upcoming social networking service, has a "Virtual PSP" that allows you to customize your virtual avatar. Sony states that "Your Virtual PSP gives you access to all the navigation, features and options of Home." Although this product placement is a cute way of promoting the platform, there's one thing that will work even better: more games on the system. Hopefully, the Phil Harrison keynote (happening now) will reveal some interesting non-PS3 tidbits for handheld gamers to enjoy.

GDC offers a chance for unproven games, new IPs, and new development teams to get a chance in the spotlight. Nearby Tiki Games' Galaxy's End booth was The Black Corsair, from an Italian game development team, Virtual Identity. This action adventure game combines platforming and multiple fighting styles in an imaginative pirate-inspired world. Although the game is headed to the PSP, the developers are trying to make it anything but small: supposedly, there will be over 100 NPCs to interact with, and over 40 minutes of cutscenes. The supposed 80 hour playtime seems inflated, but it would be incredible if this team is able to pull it off.
The Black Corsair certainly looks interesting. Although I didn't get my hands on the game, it's great to see independent studios try to do something new for our handheld.

New Star Wars games are always met with equal parts fond anticipation and trepidation. On one hand, each new Star Wars game gives players the opportunity to delve into a fresh storyline set a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away. On the other hand, it is completely up to the developer to make good use of this licence and create a game that doesn't simply retread Hoth and Endor for the umpteenth time.
To this end, IGN was recently invited to visit George Lucas' game studio, LucasArts, to view its progress on the latest Star Wars game - Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. Announced back at E3 2006 and further elaborated on during Activison's 'Activate' event in Sydney shortly thereafter, The Force Unleashed is part of LucasArts' brave new foray into several new technologies, and we've had our fingers crossed since our first glimpses of the game that it will represent a bold new vision for the Star Wars license.
Now it's time to blow the lid off this puppy, as we dive straight into the details, courtesy of Hayden Blackman, Project Lead on Unleashed. His enthusiasm for the Star Wars series has placed him at the top of a tower of LucasArts talent that actively sought out George Lucas' blessing to create the next fully-fledged chapter in the series.

One of the biggest additions to the latest wave of consoles is the ability to download small games directly to the systems for a nominal fee. Sony's PlayStation Store currently features a handful of these games, including the likes of Blast Factor and flOw, but what looks to be the best of the bunch is just around the corner.
Calling All Cars is currently in production at Sony's Santa Monica Studios and is perhaps best known because of the involvement of David Jaffe. The game is very simple in setup - pick up criminals in your car and deliver them to jail. While that sounds easy, so does football, a sport which Calling All Cars can often feel like.
Controlling your vehicle is done simply with the left analog stick. There's no gas button as you drive in whatever direction you press, but R2 will apply a bit of nitro should you have some saved up. The only other control you need to use is R1 which will use one of the level's weapons to help you free the criminal from another car so that you can snag him yourself.
The weapons are scattered about the world as giant question marks, so you never know exactly what you're going to pick up. A single rocket attaches to the front of your car and fire straight ahead at a quick pace when you unleash it. The hammer allows you to pound the ground and shakes up cars around you, though you only get one use per pickup. A magnet can be used to literally rip the criminal from someone else's clutches. Should you not happen to have a weapon in your hands, you can simply ram other cars at high speed to shake loose their package. Once you nab the criminal, however, you're on the defensive as you can't use any weapons until you either lose him or deliver him to jail.
Scoring is done by running through one of three gates on the level's jail. The one point cell is a simple opening on the ground level that's hard to miss. The two-pointer is a little tougher. On one of the levels we tried, you had to take a ramp to jump through it, while on the other you had to time a rising and lowering gate to get in. The three-point cell is the trickiest. On the snowy level, a ramp that is only occasionally raised is your entry ticket, while on the train yard level you have to wait for the train to speed by and use its cars as a ramp to hop up there.
It's not actually possible to die in Calling All Cars as you're simply stunned when you're hit with a weapon, though should you happen to fall off the level you'll lose a valuable point. Being that most of the matches we tried ended with scores like 5-4-3-2, every point counts.
The game is extremely pick-up-and-play friendly, what with it taking us about 30 seconds to figure out how to do everything there is to do. The tricky part is in mastering the weapons, figuring out how each of the jails work and deciding on whether its better to go after another car with the criminal, or let him score and stay back to try and pick up the next one first.
As mentioned, the game can feel a lot like football at times. Once you have one of the criminals, you need to steer clear of the other cars and find the quickest and safest route to the goal. If you don't have the villain and someone else does, it's all about ramming them and taking him back. When three cars are hot on the tail of another and everyone is scurrying about to pick up the loose crook, things can get really hectic.
Calling All Cars is currently scheduled for release sometime this March.

March 8th, 2007, 02:39 Posted By: wraggster
A mysterious article popped up last Friday on OXM's UK Site, claiming that Ubisoft had quietly announced a next-gen sequel to its 3D re-imagining of the classic Prince of Persia franchise. Previously, we here at IGN, as well as pretty much everyone in the gaming press, had believed that the Prince of Persia series would be taking little a break, with Assassin's Creed stepping forward to fill the action-platforming void.
With OXM's article stirring up abundant rumors about a sequel in the works, we decided to contact Ubisoft directly for comment. An Ubisoft representative claimed that the company had "made no such announcement at this point." This statement casts some serious doubt on the original article, as it made it look like there had been some sort of official announcement out of Ubisoft.
With Ubisoft denying OXM's claims, it makes it difficult for us to determine the fate of everyone's favorite angst-ridden hero. While we are eagerly awaiting an update to the series, we would rather get excited after Ubisoft officially announces the game, rather than before. C'mon, Ubisoft. Cut us a break. We want our prince, and we want him now.

As a "special thanks" for the media that attended his pre-GDC conference last night, Sony Computer Entertainment's President of Worldwide Studios, Phil Harrison unveiled the first in-game footage of Killzone ever seen. However, we did see it with a few caveats.
"Please remember that we're showing you this footage as an example of our technology," stated Harrison before running the b-roll. "Keep that in mind when looking at it and don't think of it as looking at the game directly."
The technology that Phil was referring to is "PlayStation Edge," a new advanced graphics tool that's meant to simplify PS3 development. The package comes complete with RSX performance analyzer and GCMReplay.
Following his brief statements, the footage played on multiple HD screens and showed off both ISA and Helghast soldiers blasting the bejesus of each other. The best way to describe how the aftermath looked is that it's "BLACK" for the next generation. There was a high level of destructibility as the bullets flew, and some seemingly-purposeful moments of slowdown (as in bullet-time, not a technical hitch).
As the footage came to a close, the word "E3" flashed on the screen followed by Harrison's confirmation that July is when we'd see the game next.

The PlayStation 2, PSP and PC get a new brand of Sudoku, Carol Vorderman Sudoku, shipping today across North America.
Yanks like us might not be familiar with Carol Vorderman, but she's a math guru and television star in the UK, according to publisher Eidos (our cohorts across the pond confirm). Carol Vorderman Sudoku offers "over a million" of the number puzzles, plus live-action FMV tutorials and tips featuring the aforementioned Welsh star.
Look for PS2, PSP and Windows versions of Carol Vorderman Sudoku in North America in the coming days.

Eidos announced today that it will be distributing the realistic billiards simulator, Gone Wild Pocket Pool in North America, exclusively on the PlayStation Portable.
Gone Wild Pocket Pool features 13 different types of billiard games, including mainstays like 8-ball and 9-ball, as well as more hardcore pool hall challenges like Black Jack, rotation, and Snooker. Furthmore, Eidos seems to understand its audience, as evidenced by the inclusion of some well-endowed hotties, known as the Dream Models. In-game success directly results in some unlockable babalicious video and picture galleries.
"Pocket Pool is a game that can stand alone as a realistic billiard simulator, however sprinkle in some sex appeal and now you have a true gaming treat," said Robert Lindsey of Eidos. Kevin McGill, Eidos's marketing manager expanded on this, stating that "the PlayStation Portable is a great handheld platform for mature audiences. Pocket Pool is a game designed to tap into the desires of a dominant male audience, providing players with a fun and sexy gameplay experience."
This can only be good news, as the main thing we felt was missing from previous pool games was ridiculously oversized breasts.

Realtech vr has released a new demo of their game for the PSP:
Heres the details:

The celebrations of the eighth millenium have just ended and the good days seem to be over. A few cases of an unknown sickness have been found. Rumors are spreading of the possibility of a mind disease.
No Gravity invites you to a fantastic and futuristic universe made of five intergalactic worlds. An arcade type game with great playability, where it is easy to plunge into space battles against spacefighters, space stations and more!
Fifty-five hard hitting missions plus ten training exercises will help you to enter this real time textured 3D environment. Missions set not only in deep space, but also inside enemy structures will have you patrolling high risk sectors, on reconnaissance in enemy space, escorting friendly ships or defending your space stations and even sneaking in to sabotage enemy weapons.
No Gravity is a space shooter in 3D ' a la Wing Commander'. The player is controlling a space ship view from the first person. In each mission, the player need to accomplish some objectives, like shoot and destroys enemy ships or base, escorting some ships, clearing mine field, etc...
A brief description of the objectives is given at the beginning of a mission. In some situations, the player has some wingmen, and it can controls them by giving order like attack enemy, retreat, protect the base etc... A mission is composed of different sectors which has differents objectives.
When the objectives of the current sector is complete, the player needs to go the nearest 'NAV' point, when he can 'wrap' to the next sector. In the last sector, a 'warp' gate is apparearing and the player need to go through it and complete the level. At the end of each episodes (one episode is 10 missions), there is a large base station to destroy.
When the player complete all the episodes (5 episodes), the game ends. The mission fails if : - The player got destroyed or - if an objective is not complete (like an important ship being destroyed by enemy).

After a silence that dates back to the infamous E3 conference of 2006, Sony has finally unwrapped some major details concerning the PlayStation 3 edition of their karaoke smash, Singstar. Firstly, Singstar will be making its way to the States this fall, with a European release scheduled for early June. While they didn't name any specifics, Sony did mention that they're working with members of the music industry to ensure a girth of content for launch.
Embodying the concept of Game 3.0 -- the theme of Phil Harrison's speech this morning -- Singstar allows users to not only download new content, but to upload their own as well. Folks from around the world will be plugging in their EyeToys or USB cameras' and shaking their money makers with their own video uploads that can be rated and commented upon from the community. A brief demonstration of Singstar revealed a pleasing interface that allowed for streaming both music and video previews of potential downloads.
