New from SuccessHK
There's a downside to being a stone-cold killer. Oh sure, being a globe-trotting member of a secret fraternity of superpowered assassins has its perks: cutting-edge weapons, an expense account that would rival the GDP of a small nation, not to mention that whole license-to-kill thing. Nevertheless, for every aspect of an assassin's life that just plain kicks butt, there's the flipside: the fact that practically wherever you go, people want you dead.

Sony has a major upgrade prepared for the PlayStation 3 version of Echochrome. A patch adds the cloud, a public area where user created stages can be uploaded and shared with the world. Previously, user created content was sent to Sony and selected stages were periodically distributed as packs.
Echochrome utilizes the PlayStation Eye to film a person while they are rotating a maze. Replays with the picture-in-picture window can be saved to your hard drive or uploaded directly to YouTube. I guess this is being advertised as some kind of “party” feature.
Solo players can see where they stand in weekly corridor challenges, time attacks with leaderboards, and test their memory with the invisible quiz, a mode that has players guess a stage while the cast walks on an invisible level.
The patch comes out on May 21 in Japan. A North American release date has not been announced at this time, but I doubt that Sony is making this just for Japan.

GungHo released a few screenshots of Lunar: Harmony of the Silver Star, a PSP version of Lunar: Silver Star Complete. Compared to the PsOne version (right) the sprites are much larger and there is a Tales style display with character portraits next to status information.
Game Arts, the original developer is handling the conversion, and will have Lunar: Harmony of the Silver Star ready for Japan in the fall. While officially unannounced Xseed might be picking this up for North America.

You know, one of these days, someone at one of these big companies is going to get this right. If you send a cease and desist about "leaked" photos of a supposed device, you're basically saying, "Hey guys, those pictures are real." Now, we can't tell you with 100 percent assurance that that's the case when it comes to those factory pics of rubber-gloved hands all over an apparently-new PS3 hardware design, but it doesn't help anyone's case when a Chinese company sends your Japanese wing a takedown notice. Keep in mind, since this thing isn't from Sony, we can't really be sure that it's the real deal, but we'll be honest -- things are starting to look mighty suspicious. Text of one of the charming messages after the break. We'll pause for comment now.

KOEI has announced that Dynasty Warriors 6 Empires will be released for PS3 and Xbox 360 on 26th June.
The game adds tactical elements to the hack-and-slash mix. There's the choice between being a ruler or an officer, for example, where the former uses a mixture of politics and power to unite ancient China while the latter acts as a freelancer, whose renown and responsibility increases with each battle.
Cards can be acquired along the way that improve the state of your population and force your followers to do what you say.
You'll be able to create your own hero, too, or become a new character not seen in Dynasty Warriors 6. Six of the existing heroes have also been given new weapons and moves, plus there's extra levels and stages to explore.

DJ Shadow reckons the amount of freedom DJ Hero offers players over licensed music will "raise some eyebrows" this autumn.
"I don't think a lot of the people that made some of the music we're involved with have ever allowed their music to be so freely messed with, you know what I mean? And I think that this game - I definitely think it will raise some eyebrows on that level," DJ Shadow told Game Informer.
DJ Hero is in development for PS2, PS3, Wii and Xbox 360. And, like Guitar Hero, the game comes with its very own peripheral - a plastic turntable.
We've not see the device in action, but DJ Shadow said any eight year-old kid will be perfectly happy with it.
"Well to me the best way to answer that would be, 'Would this make some eight year old kid who got it for Christmas want to try the real thing?' And I think in that respect the answer is yes," said DJ Shadow.
"Because, you know, it's not the real thing, obviously - but to me when I played it, the first couple of times I was kind of like sensory overload trying to figure out, 'Wow, OK, so this does this and that does that.'
"I mean I've heard people say that with Guitar Hero it's the same thing, like just because you're virtuoso, just because you're Joe Satriani doesn't mean that you're going to be able to kick right into Guitar Hero and be an incredible game player. It's the same with DJ Hero, it takes practice to kind of not look like an idiot," he added.
DJ Shadow lent not only his name and likeness to the project, but also his opinion, which he described as a "bulls***-proof radar". That entailed suggesting the music and mixes to use, as well as checking various samples had been cleared. He's been quite hands-on, apparently.
As for gameplay, players will have to simulate what's being heard with two records and sample track, he said. But don't expect lots of previously unheard DJ Shadow music, as Activision caught him at a time when he didn't have "a lot of new material sitting around".
"So there isn't going to be any of my new stuff in the game, at least not in the first version, maybe in a subsequent version or in download form or something like that," he said.

EA, MTV and Harmonix have unveiled the list of songs included in Rock Band Unplugged, which launches on PSP on 19th June.
The tracks go as far back as The Who in the 1960s, and right up to present-day headbangers System of a Down. We like "Carry on Wayward Son" by Kansas and "My Own Worst Enemy" by Lit. We don't like Weezer.
Rock Band Unplugged features an in-game DLC store, too, where players can download extra tracks via PC. There will be 10 tracks available at launch, including "Under the Bridge" by Red Hot Chili Peppers.
In Rock Band Unplugged, players match the music by fingering the face buttons, and switch instruments - guitar, bass, vocals, drums - mid-song by whacking the shoulder buttons. Don't worry; instruments play themselves for a short while after a successful sequence.
Here's the tracklist in full:
2000s
AFI - "Miss Murder"
All-American Rejects - "Move Along"
Audioslave - "Gasoline"
Black Tide - "Show Me the Way"
Freezepop - "Less Talk More Rokk"
Jimmy Eat World - "The Middle"
The Killers - "Mr. Brightside"
Lacuna Coil - "Our Truth"
Lamb of God - "Laid to Rest"
Modest Mouse - "Float On"
Queens of the Stone Age - "3's and 7's"
System of a Down - "Chop Suey!"
Tenacious D - "Rock Your Socks"
1990s
3 Doors Down - "Kryptonite"
Alice in Chains - "Would?"
Blink 182 - "What's My Age Again"
Foo Fighters - "Everlong"
Judas Priest - "Painkiller"
Lit - "My Own Worst Enemy"
Lush - "De-Luxe"
Mighty Mighty Bosstones - "Where'd You Go?"
Nine Inch Nails - "The Perfect Drug"
Nirvana - "Drain You"
The Offspring - "Come Out and Play (Keep 'em Separated)"
Pearl Jam - "Alive"
Smashing Pumpkins - "Today"
Social Distortion - "I Was Wrong"
Soundgarden - "Spoonman"
Weezer - "Buddy Holly"
1980s
Billy Idol - "White Wedding Part 1"
Bon Jovi - "Livin' on a Prayer"
Dead Kennedys - "Holiday in Cambodia"
Motörhead - "Ace of Spades"
The Police - "Message in a Bottle"
Siouxsie & the Banshees - "The Killing Jar"
1970s
Boston - "More Than a Feeling"
Jackson 5 - "ABC"
Jethro Tull - "Aqualung"
Kansas - "Carry on Wayward Son
Rush - "The Trees"
1960s
The Who - "Pinball Wizard"
Downloadable songs (available from 9th June)
30 Seconds to Mars - "The Kill"
Belly - "Feed the Tree"
Disturbed - "Inside the Fire"
Lynyrd Skynyrd - "Gimme Three Steps"
Muse - "Hysteria"
Mute Math - "Typical"
No Doubt - "Just a Girl"
Oasis - "Wonderwall"
Paramore - "Crushcrushcrush"
Red Hot Chili Peppers - "Under the Bridge"

Though we're running this one under the "likely an error and probably not a hot scoop" category, a listing for Battlefield Heroes on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 has appeared on the EA press site. Pointed out by GOONLINE (their caps, not ours), the listing posits a June 2009 release date -- interesting considering the PC version of the game has been marred by delays. The site also pegs the PC version with a September release, a significantly more solid release date than EA has provided as of late.
At this point, however, we'd like to note that the game's developer, DICE, has stated before its lack of interest in console ports of the game, telling Videogamer.com a year ago, "We could port the engine and do it, I just don't know what we would gain from it. Everyone's who's [sic] got a 360 or PS3 also will have a PC that can run this game." We've reached out for comment from EA and will update you when we hear more

Bill Blake has released a new version of Mame the arcade games emulator for PS3 Linux, heres the release details:
MAME stands for Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator. When used in conjunction with an arcade game's data files (ROMs), MAME will more or less faithfully reproduce that game on a PC. The ROM images that MAME utilizes are "dumped" from arcade games' original circuit-board ROM chips. MAME becomes the "hardware" for the games, taking the place of their original CPUs and support chips. Therefore, these games are NOT simulations, but the actual, original games that appeared in arcades. MAME's purpose is to preserve these decades of video-game history. As gaming technology continues to rush forward, MAME prevents these important "vintage" games from being lost and forgotten. This is achieved by documenting the hardware and how it functions, thanks to the talent of programmers from the MAME team and from other contributors. Being able to play the games is just a nice side-effect, which doesn't happen all the time. MAME strives for emulating the games faithfully. NOTE: This version includes an unsupported patch that adds the ability to display games at their original (-nativeres) resolution in fullscreen mode. Users of this version are not eligible for support on the official forum. Get support for this version here: http://forums.ps3bodega.com

Hola
Hey.
So after a bit of work I bring you LuaPlayer Euphoria V3.
New Features, Improvements, Bug Fixes & Changes :
New Features :
1) IntraFont support. You can now load and blit fonts without the huge slowdown the built in font function has
How to use it ? Go to Samples/IntraFont for a working usage example.
Improvements :
1) Speed increase. Roughly between 20>40fps.
2) screen:clear() is now faster.
Bug Fixes :
1) screen:clear() now actually works. (it didn't in V2)
2) Image alpha on created images, colors, and loaded images now works.
3) 3D things I broke are now fixed (so 3d wise it is the same as .20 was).
4) FPS counter no longer flickers when not using waitVblankStart().
5) Checking for input (i.e pad = Controls.read()) no longer caps the framerate to 60fps. I suggest you use waitVblankStart() if you need to cap it to 60
Changes :
Ok, so all of the function names in V1 & 2 have changed. I meant to do this from the beggining but rushed so much I didn't quite get to it. The function names now ring true to the default LuaPlayer naming convention.
Here are the new functions and names (also included in the download) :
All the readme/function files have been updated to reflect this release.
Future :
Plenty of stuff planned, MP3 Playback on the media engine, ogg playback on the media engine, more optimizations, additions of PSP Sce features such as savedata dialogue, OSK etc.
If you would like to request a feature be added, please do so at the official forum : LuaPlayer Euphoria Forum
If you use this please leave a comment!

News/release from Warlock-
Don't you hate when you are playing a game and about to beat the level and your psp power is low and you have to run to go get the charger? Well that is no more because with the Psp Power Saver
you can now play for longer periods time. You just run the eboot just once and vioala. This is just a beta release so you probably wont notice the power increase because its only about a 5%
increase. In later revisions i will attempt to amp it up to about 50 or 100%. So enjoy... Any questions comments or bugs? Email them to me at TshWarlock@gmail.com
I am not responsible for your psp blowing up when you use this This project is closed source for now, i wont release the source until i abandon the project or until i cant do anything else with it...
How it works:
This turns off the umd driver when you are not using it (iso/cso, Homebrew, internet, music ect.) In turn this will save you about 5% of power.
Installation:
Just put the psp folder on the root of your memory stick and enjoy!
Run the Eboot and enjoy your powered up psp!
Changelog:
v.0.0.6
-Increased power to 5%
-Cleaned up the source
-Fixed a few bugs
v.0.0.5 Initial Release
-Fixed ALOT of bugs...
-Fixed the half assed interface
-Now it actually saves power... lol
v.0.0.4 Minor Update
-Fixed some bugs
v.0.0.3
-Meh really buggy will fix in next revision...
-Fixed the problem where it wouldnt run on newer psps
-Fixed the problem where the battery wouldnt charge
