Japan will have to wait a tiny bit longer to play Idea Factory’s next PlayStation 3 crossover RPG. Trinity Universe was originally scheduled for August. The new release date is September 10.
Trinity Universe unites Gust, Idea Factory, and Nippon Ichi characters in an original story. There are two parts to the tale: a goddess side with Rizerial the battle goddess and a demon lord side starring Kanata the devil dog.
Flonne, Etna, and a Prinny from the Disgaea games are playable characters in Trinity Universe which makes NIS America the prime candidate to publish this game domestically.

Disney Interactive has announced Pirates of the Caribbean: Armada of the Damned, a new open-world action RPG in development at Turok dev, Propaganda Games. According to Disney, the game will take place before the events in the films, with "moral and character choices" promised that shape both the player's character and the game's world.
Beyond this, not much is known, though Armada of the Damned isn't scheduled to set sail until fall 2010 on both the PC and "next-generation" consoles. Still, after posting a considerable $45 million loss earlier this year, who can blame the company for diving back into its treasure chest for the few remaining doubloons left at the bottom.

Guerrilla will tomorrow release a patch for Killzone 2 that will, among other things, fix the game's much-discussed controls with a new 'Precision Controls' option, which makes the analogue sticks more responsive.
It also features tweaks to the Skirmish mode and other online tweaks. Here's the full lowdown on the patch in the form of an official interview with Eric Boltjes, Guerrilla's lead multiplayer designer:
First of all, Eric, can you run us through the highlights of Patch 1.27?
Sure! Most importantly, we've added functionality to make the process of finding and playing with friends much easier, tweaked the Skirmish Mode to keep it interesting for players with lower-bandwidth network connections, introduced a new 'High Precision' option to the controller configuration menu, and improved the overall balance of the game. There's also a host of smaller changes as well, but I'll save that for the change log.
Let's start with the first one: finding and playing with friends. How has that been changed?
We've examined how party systems work and added similar functionality to our game where possible. The 'Join Friend' option has been changed so that the player can automatically join a friend's faction and squad - even if faction balancing is on. In addition, squads and their factions are now persistent over multiple games, so friends can keep playing together continuously.
You said the Skirmish Mode been tweaked - can you explain?
Well, we've decided to unlock all the badges in Skirmish Mode. Considering that the game has been out for a while, and that many players have already reached the rank of General, we believe this is a nice way for players with lower-bandwidth network connections to experience the full range of weapons and abilities available in the Warzone.
Control-wise, what exactly does the new 'High Precision' option do?
When this option is switched on, it makes the analog sticks more responsive to small movements. Turned off, the controls behave exactly as they did before the patch. It's not a radical overhaul of the control system, so the layout and the 'weight' of the controls remain the same.
Still, a lot of us here at Guerrilla really enjoy the new High Precision option, so we've decided to switch it on by default for new players. Existing Killzone 2 players will have the option turned off by default after patching - we wouldn't want to force a sudden change to the controls on you!
How have you improved the overall balance of the game?
For starters, Patch 1.27 allows players to switch factions manually if the factions are unbalanced. If the factions consist of, say, 13 players versus 11 players, a player from the largest faction can manually switch over to make it an even 12 versus 12. Switching in the other direction is not allowed, so players from the smaller team can't defect to the larger team if the battle doesn't go their way. Players who switch over retain all their points, but squad affiliations will of course be lost.
Furthermore, we've removed the temporary invulnerability awarded to players who spawn at a spawn point other than the base camp. The players will still be safe at their own base camp, but custom-placed or mission-based spawn points do not yield temporary invulnerability anymore. This will hopefully give opposing players already at this location a fair chance.
Finally, we've made a couple of changes to the Badge abilities. The Assault Badge, for instance, was deemed too powerful by many players - so we tweaked down its Armor ability from 100 hit points to 50 hit points. The Tactician Badge's secondary ability (to request air support from a Sentry Bot) has also been tweaked to make the Sentry Bot more useful. It can aim more accurately now, and its health is a little higher as well. To make it even more useful, we've reduced the way automated turrets target them, so they're not shot down as fast. It should certainly make the Air Support Specialist ribbon easier to obtain!
This patch demonstrates the continued support and dedication to Killzone 2. Stay tuned for more downloadable content and more tweaks coming in the near future.

Sony Computer Entertainment and Rhino Studios' safari and photography sim Afrika is finally coming to North America, publisher Natsume has announced, giving PlayStation 3 owners a chance to experience the gorgeous game on Western shores.
According to IGN, Natsume has picked up publishing duties where National Geographic Games and Sony Computer Entertainment America appear to have left off. That doesn't mean the two companies won't be involved, however as both National Geographic and Sony are licensees for the title. It's just that Nat Geo Games' announcement that it was publishing the game from last year (it later deleted the title from its lineup) isn't accurate.
Still no date for the title, but we'll hope for one at E3.

With the Final Fantasy XIII hype machine in full gear, we haven't heard about that other Final Fantasy PS3 game, Final Fantasy Versus XIII.
In the latest issue of Japanese magazine Dengeki, Tetsuya Nomura provides an update. "The progress of developing Final Fantasy Versus XIII is going well," he says.
Nomura is surrounded with much of the same staff he's been working with since the FFVII days. According to Nomura, the staff and he are in tune and very much on the same page — they even catch things before he says them.
Currently the team is testing the battle and map mechanic over and over again as well as checking the game's lighting. "We did a lighting test for the cityscape during noon and evening," Nomura says. "It really gives a good impression — of a city right before your very eyes." Things like the character's actions are coming together bit by bit.
And with Final Fantasy XIII getting a new trailer at E3, Nomura adds, "I don't want to loose [to FFXIII]." While Final Fantasy XIII has been announced for the Xbox 360 in the West, Final Fantasy Versus XIII has only been announced for the PLAYSTATION 3.

VidZone, Sony's free music video streaming service, will launch on PS3 this summer as an integrated feature of the console's XMB menu, and here are some screenshots of it in action.
The service will allow you to view thousands of music videos, streamed via the internet straight to the PS3, without asking you for single penny.
The new software, which Sony says is "backed by several Major record labels as well as thousands of Independent labels", will pop up under the music icon on your PS3 XMB.
We've been using it this morning and it's pretty fast, the picture and sound quality is good and it all works pretty well, aside from a few clunky menus. We'll show you more soon.

Activision secures 'the most prominent single ad spot ever utilised' for games in the UK
The game might not hit retail for six months, but Activision is kick-starting the UK hype for Modern Warfare 2 today - with a premiere for the game during tonight's Champions League final.
The game, sequel to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare - one of the best-selling games of all time, arrives in November.
Activision and developer Infinity Ward has closely guarded many secrets surrounding the game's release, only drip feeding trailers out to consumers and the industry. First hints of the title were given in March at GDC with a recent follow-up trailer debuting earlier this month.
Tonight's promotion is the single most prominent single ad spot ever dedicated to a video game debut in the UK, according to Activision.
"Premiering the new Modern Warfare 2 trailer during such a high profile event presents a great opportunity to reach Infinity Ward’s fans and gamers throughout the UK,” explained David Tyler, Activision's UK marketing director.
“This promotional placement for Modern Warfare 2 is the most prominent single ad spot ever utilised by a video game to be revealed to the British public, and is indicative of the impact this title will have when it launches on November 10th.”

Publisher THQ has announced a brand new intellectual property – a first-person shooter called Homefront – to be shown at E3 next week.
The game has been developed by Kaos Studios and is set for release on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.
"Kaos Studios is using powerful narrative and environmental storytelling to create a plausible, near-futuristic setting where the people of a once mighty nation must fight to maintain their existence," commented Kevin Kraff, vice president of global brand management at THQ.
"This harsh backdrop will be the foundation for an emotionally-charged single-player campaign and an intense multiplayer experience."
Kaos Studios developed Frontlines: Fuel of War, and will be using NaturalMotion's Morpheme animation middleware for the title.

May 27th, 2009, 17:27 Posted By: wraggster
Peter Edward, director for Sony's PlayStation Home Platform, has told GamesIndustry.biz that the PlayStation 3's virtual world platform has now been downloaded over 6.5 million times, and that after the initial interest peak the active user base has now started to rise again.
Speaking in an interview ahead of next month's GameHorizon conference in Newcastle, UK, Edward stated his belief that the service has now reached a "tipping point" which should it continue to gain momentum from here on in.
And he also revealed that he was pleased with the launch of the open beta, following a long period of hype and anticipation for the platform.
"I think it's gone very well - I'm very pleased," he said. "We went to open beta in December and since then we've had something like 6.5 million downloads. We've got a very healthy active user base, and we're finding as well that people aren't just churning, they're returning - which is obviously key for something like this.
"You start off with everybody interested in what's going on, people come along and have a look around, and that then starts to tail off - but you get to a point where people come back. There's more and more content going in, there are more things to do, and people come back to have a look around - and then they realise there's loads of content.
"We're at the point now where we're starting to see our active user base go up, and we're getting more people coming back than are leaving, so we're at the tipping point of where the platform starts to gain momentum.
"That's really nice for us, because until that happens, you're hoping that it will happen, but you need the reassurance - so in that sense it's nice."
He added that he was also pleased to see third party support for Home, and hinted that there would be announcements about new additions at E3 next week.
"We've had a couple of client updates with some new features, we've got a few more features coming along soon," he said. "But the main thing is less about what we're doing on the platform - we're keeping it up-to-date, we're adding improvements and features - but the vast majority of the impact on the platform is by the content that goes on there. That's where I've been really pleased with the uptake.
"You start off by showing publishers and third parties, and it's the sort of thing they get very excited about. Then you go through the reality check, where people start wondering whether or not they want to put content on there, do they want to take that risk? And it slows down a little bit.
"But then you get people putting content on there and it starts to gather momentum, and now there's content in a constant flow - I think once you've got third parties realising that it has a positive effect, then they put more content on there, and you're at the point where you can be fairly confident you've got something that's working.
"We're at that point now - you know what you want from the platform, you know what you believe it's capable of, but it's nice to be shown that's actually happening."

May 27th, 2009, 17:27 Posted By: wraggster
PlayStation Home's focus is firmly on producing content and growing its community, with chasing profit coming further down the list.
That's according to Peter Edward, director of the PlayStation Home Platform Group, who told GamesIndustry.biz he believed that monetisation of the PlayStation 3's virtual world environment would happen as a consequence of fulfilling the top two priorities.
"On the one hand, yes - Home is an ambitious platform and has been in development for some time, so obviously that's a lot of money," he explained, ahead of a speaking engagement at GameHorizon next month. "But it is a platform, it's not a single software product. We do have a profit and loss on Home, and obviously revenue is an important part of it, just like with anything else.
"But our belief is that if you make the community happy, and get good content on to the platform, if you get a platform that people want to keep coming back to, then the monetisation aspect of it will almost take care of itself.
"It's certainly not something that should be the driving force, not something that's the driving priority at this stage of development. We have to focus on making sure we're giving the community what they want, and making sure the platform itself is sufficiently capable and robust, and that the content is there. That's definitely our priority.
"That's not to say that we don't want to monetise the platform, and that we don't have plans to do so, but it's definitely a kind of consequence of getting all the other factors right, rather than being a driving force. We're not in it to make a quick buck from Home, and then move onto the next thing - Home is a strategic platform for PlayStation, and as such we're developing it."
But he did reveal that the micro-transaction model is proving effective, particularly for third parties who create that monetised content, with the recent release of Star Trek uniforms proving a notable attraction.
"From a third party's perspective it makes it worthwhile to produce those items in the first place," he said. "I can't give you any specific figures on how much has been sold - that's obviously a matter for our licensees - but there are plenty of items being made that are making money.
"I think there's enough content being given away for free on the Home platform that people don't feel forced into buying stuff, and the fact that they are buying things shows there's a market for it and that people like it.
"What's really interesting is that in some cases we're actually finding that the paid-for items are shifting more than the free items, and what that points to is that there's a value in the perceived exclusivity of an item - users can say they've paid for it and it gives them the opportunity to show their individuality a little more."

Previously, we saw a Microsoft patent on a Wiimote-like device, and now rumors say that Sony too has a similar device in the works. This isn't surprising, given how dominant Nintendo's Wii has proved to be in this hardware generation. However, many gaming-geeks continue to lament the move away from plain old button-pressing. What is exciting is the prospect that all three companies may incorporate Johnny Lee-style head-tracking into the next console generation, which achieves a convincing 3D illusion on a regular vid-screen, leaving us just a few steps away from true positional 3D. Both the Microsoft and Sony patents incorporate a camera looking at the user, a required setup for achieving positional head-tracking

Uberjack posted this news concerning his Commodore 64 emulator for PSP:
It seems that in my hurry to put the emulator up for download, I forgot to mention some important usage details about tape and disk image loading. As you may have noticed, VICE PSP normally resets the system, anytime you attempt to load a game from the Game tab. This is behavior that’s consistent in all my ports, and it’s intended to make most games easily loadable. VICE PSP also provides some fine-tuning options, for games that require multiple disks or tapes.
To load tapes/disks without resetting the system, go to the System tab, select the Tape or Drive 8 menu option (depending on whether you want to load a tape or disk image), then press CROSS to load another image. If a tape or disk image is already loaded, it will be ejected, and another one will be loaded in its place. To eject a loaded image, select an option, and press TRIANGLE.
To autoload a program, first load the image, then go to the System tab, highlight the Tape or Drive 8 menu option, and press RIGHT. Select a program from the list, and press CROSS to autoload it. Note that this will reset the system.

Here is the release of this small plugin that no useful purpose other than that to give a little life into the xmb that you do not know how to make original. XtreamParticle offers you the opportunity to change a little air through these small particles of light which come and go on your xmb.
How it works?
It is not complicated you just have to simultaneously press L and R to activate or deactivate the display.
http://www.xtreamlua.com/blog/index....ichiers&file=9
That's all for now. If it's like I will make random interactions between particles to have a thing where you are at least stuck to his 1min xmb.
