Sony has launched its new official EU PlayStation Blog to sit alongside the popular US PS Blog.
You may remember the firm's "semi-official" blog ThreeSpeech, which was closed on April 17 to make way for the new blog.
"It's taken us a while to get here and we know that many of you have been asking for a European blog for a long time now. We've been listening and thank you all for your patience and support whilst we've been getting everything ready for today's launch. Now that we're here, it's our hope that this blog will grow to become a one-stop-shop for your daily fix of PlayStation news from across the SCEE region," it says on the new site.

THQ and Company of Heroes developer Relic Entertainment have announced new title Space Marine, set in Games Workshop's Warhammer 40,000 sci-fi universe.
Relic has considerable experience with the license already, through the Dawn of War series of real-time strategy games. According to a preview by sister site Eurogamer.net the new title is an action role-playing game for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, but not PC.
The game will see players controlling as single space marine, with Relic staff describing it as "high action" and "RPG lite". The game is currently in the early stages of development, with THQ confirming only that it will not be released this year.
Although it shares the same name, the game is not the same project as the leaked footage seen online last September. Although the footage of what appeared to be a more straightforward action game was received positively by fans, the action title was being developed by THQ Studio Australia. It is unclear what the fate of that game might be and whether it will be repurposed for another title.

While still one-half away from a good "show and tell" game, Splitfish has announced (with no pics, unfortunately) the Dual SFX Evolution and Dual SFX Frag Pro controllers, part of the Frevolution X series and coming this Fall for the PlayStation 3. For the first person shooter crowd, the Frag Pro is slated to be the successor to the mouse-and-nunchuk combo originally released in 2007 (pictured), with a new dual wireless system to clear up some cord clutter. As for the Evolution, according to the presser it'll swap out the mouse for a right-handed motion / analog joystick. We're a bit lacking in the imagery department right, but we'll be getting some eyes (and hopefully hands) on the peripherals when E3 rolls around early next month.

Ready for this? No, seriously -- are you strapped in? The same reliable "mole" that enabled ArsTechnica to correctly call the Resident Evil 5 Xbox 360 bundle and the new Halo 3 / Fable 2 bundle (among other items) has come forward with convincing evidence that a UMD-less PSP is indeed on the table for an E3 launch. Truthfully, we'd be more shocked if Sony didn't announce such a product, with the download-only release of Patapon 2 being a telltale sign that something was up. We're told that the so-called PSP-Go! will be debuting in LA next week, but that a slimmer, trimmer PlayStation 3 likely won't. The reason? Sony's waiting for its current stock of PS3 consoles to dwindle, after which it intends to refill channel partners with the physically fit edition that we peeked just over a week ago. We'll be live at the expo to give the low-down on this as it happens, but suffice it to say, buying a bulky PS3 over the next few months will likely morph into a regrettable decision.

I only have a few good theories and hunches about what will be announced by Sony:
* PlayStation Portable Go!
* PS3 Hardware and Price Cuts
* Cross game voice chatting on PS3 games and better cross game invites. I think Sony is going to embrace the PlayStation Network and look at redesigning the PS3 user experience via software changes like Microsoft was able to do with NXE.
* Little Big Planet PSP shown off.
* Sony publishes and translates Sega's Ryu Ga Gotoku 3 as "Yakuza: Gangster's Paradise" (I made up that name) with subtitles. It would be a GTA-like PS3 exclusive. Ryu Ga Gotoku 3 was a HUGE hit in Japan.
* MAG is going to blow people away.
* God of War 3 talked about but not shown.
* Sony announces a new SDK API set to port PS2 and PSOne games to PS3 for compilations and collections. It would help recompile and retarget code developer for the PS2 chipset to the PS3 Cell/Nvidia chipset. But GDC or Tokyo Game show might be a better place to announce this. How cool would it be if Square could release all the Final Fantasy games 1-XII on a single Blu-Ray disc?
* Patapon for PS3 announced.
* Hulu.com player application for PS3.
* Netflix Streaming for PS3.

An old project of mine which i found while i was searching for something completely different (It was my first psp homebrew app)
What it does:
Basically, it allows users to boot portals via psp->game. (You dont need to open your webbrowser, and select the portal url from your bookmarks) You place the contents of your favourite portal in "psp/game/pl/portal" and you run the launcher from psp-game
Portal makers can also use this, as their portal homebrew launcher by changing the (Icon0 etc) and release their upcoming portals as homebrew apps ;p [lol]
I thought that some of you might find it useful (otherwise let the download link die)

Remember Undead Knights? This Tecmo PSP action game made its debut at the Tokyo Game Show last year as a title from new development studio Team Tachyon. We even interviewed producer Kohei Shibata about the game.
After months of silence, the game has returned! A two page feature in this week's Famitsu promises a Fall 2009 release for Japan.
As previously detailed, you take control of one of three characters, selecting from Remus Blood, her brother Romulus Blood, or his fiance Sylvia. These three have the ability to transform humans into zombies, and you use this to draft enemies to fight for you.
Once zombified, former enemies will automatically attack rival armies. You can also pick your zombie minions up and toss them at enemies, or hold them up in front of you as a shield.
It's got a totally sellable concept, so we wouldn't be surprised if we saw more of Undead Knights at E3.

Uberjack posted this on his site:
A while back, I posted about my experience with PSP 2000’s video output capability - specifically, disappointment with the unscaled output on large-screen TV’s, and the lack of support for games on older CRT’s. The post, surprisingly, resulted in a lot of feedback from the community, on this site, as well as many others - some fanboyish, some understanding or agreeing, but mostly positive and a few helpful. Main suggestion was to use a plugin called FuSa, which is basically able to do everything that the PSP alone couldn’t do.
FuSa scales the image sent to the TV, and can adjust the output frequency, to accommodate things like rendering games to CRT TV’s (which normally only works while watching UMD’s). With the several emulators that I’ve tested, the plugin works remarkably well, which only begs the question - why wasn’t this included in the PSP 2000’s firmware to begin with? While the scaled-down image on a composite output looks jagged and low-res (understandably so), many PSP owners would’ve much rather had bad output, than no output at all - myself included.
Whether or not FuSa is the reason why the newer PSP-3000 models actually will display games through a composite cable is something we’ll never know, but I suppose the point of all this is that custom firmware, and custom plugins make the PSP a lot more than a run-of-the-mill handheld. Don’t get me wrong - the PSP itself was, for its time, revolutionary - and in many ways still is. But I doubt that the system would be as popular as it is today, if it wasn’t for the homebrew community and all of its contributions and offerings. Piracy is an unfortunate side-effect of all this, and while it may be ultimately what Sony’s concerned most about, for classic computer/emulation enthusiasts such as myself, the PSP’s abilities as a homebrew development and emulation entertainment center are the only reasons why I own one (actually, two).

Newly released today:
Evolving the shooter genre with its unique and exhilarating combination of fluid action and combat, Damnation will feature huge, open environments, frenetic combat, daredevil acrobatics and high-octane vehicle-based stunts.
Presenting players with an intense test of reflexes, quick thinking and rapid-fire conflict, Damnation will feature vast, breathtaking landscapes, each covering miles of distance and thousands of vertical feet.
Billed as a ‘shooter gone vertical’ and visually inspired by iconic elements of American history, these massive streaming landscapes will form the battlegrounds for a post-industrial conflict between humanity and an unstoppable arms dealer hell-bent on total world domination.
Players will be able to choose their own paths and navigate the world by performing daredevil feats on the edge of human ability.
However, players aren’t the only ones with mind-blowing acrobatic skills; intelligent enemies will give chase and engage players in frantic gun fights and attacks that can come from any direction – in Damnation’s world there’s no safe place to hide.

It's been about seven months since we last heard anything on Tecmo's Quantum Theory. The third person action shooter debuted as one of the big PlayStation 3 surprises at last year's Tokyo Game Show, then went dark.
We have good news to report. Quantum Theory is back, and it's still looking mighty slick. The game is featured in this week's Famitsu, and while we weren't able to get any new details beyond our Tokyo Game Show report, we are confident that you'll like what you see once Tecmo starts sharing high res screens with the world.
The good news comes with some bad news. Famitsu reports a 2010 release period for the game. We'd previously been expecting a 2009 release.
With a release so far off, we're not sure if we'll necessarily be seeing anything of Quantum Theory at E3. If something does show up, of course, we'll pass along the info here at IGNPS3!
