Sony's Kaz Hirai took the stage at the Sony E3 keynote to reveal the new PSP Go!, but he also had some things to say about longterm development for the PSP platform. Kaz mentioned that Sony would be making it easier for developers to create titles for the handheld by cutting the cost of PSP development 80%. Hopefully, that will mean more developers flocking to the system making great games for us to play.

Sony is planning to launch a replacement for the PSP Media Manager software -- used for accessing the PlayStation Store and transferring movies, music and games from PC to PSP -- called Media Go. Sony Computer Entertainment prez Kaz Hirai has stated that the software will "makes content transfer of pictures and movies [to PSP] that much easier." Media Go is expected to launch alongside PSP Go in early October.

Speaking at Sony's E3 2009 press conference, Kaz Hirai unveiled a new service for PSP and PSP Go, dubbed "Sense Me." Sense Me will ... well, sense your deplorable addiction to The Jonas Brothers and deliver custom music playlists, straight into your earholes. It might also recommend an appropriate pair of pants should you choose to forgo the PSP and stick your trusty 3000 into your pocket instead.
Open Sense Me on your PSP this Fall.

E3’09: MCV gets it right again as new Metal Gear Solid title heads to PSP
As predicted by MCV earlier today, legendary games developer Hideo Kojima has revealed yet another brand new Metal Gear Solid title, this time for PSP.
Entitled MGS Peace Walker, the title follows its predecessors by adopting a very stark military theme.
Unlike Xbox 360 and PS3 title MGS Rising, however, the game will once again return to the exploits of established star Solid Snake. It also appears to be a fully fledged title and not a tactics or card games variant, as has been the case with some earlier PSP outings.
Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker is out later this year.

Sony has officially announced the PSP Go during its E3 conference and said it will cost EUR 249 / USD 249 when it comes out in Europe and North America on 1st October.
It will then follow in Japan on 1st November for 26,800 yen.
"We actually have a couple of names for this beautiful little device. First we call it The Worst-Kept Secret of E3. And we call it the PSP Go," said Sony Computer Entertainment president Kaz Hirai, before going on to confirm the details leaked this weekend.
It's a slidey-screen affair, 50 per cent smaller than the original PSP, and has 16GB of internal flash memory, Bluetooth support and a Memory Stick micro media (M2) port for future expansion. Otherwise it uses the same operating system and Wi-Fi features you're used to from the PSP-3000.
Hirai went on to add that all PSP titles from now on would be distributed digitally as well as on UMD, reiterating that the PSP-3000 would not be abandoned when the new handheld - which looked very small and portable in his hand - launches in a few months' time.
He also announced that Media Go would replace the Media Manager PC software soon, allowing you to manage content across PC and PSP more easily, while something called Sense Me (out this autumn) will create music playlists based on mood and occasion from your existing digital music collection.
Finally, the video store announced for PS3 last year is also joining the PSP feature-set, and there are new deals there for Showtime, G4, E, HD Nett, Magnoila films, Manga and more - although presumably this is US-only for now.
Oh, and if you've forgotten what the PSP Go looks like, check out our high-resolution PSP Go photo gallery from the weekend. SCEA boss Jack Tretton had joked that Sony sees itself as a market leader, and wasn't about to be outdone by E3 leaks. Respect.

Hot on the heels of the PSP Go announcement, Sony also tells us at E3 that Gran Turismo may finally see release on the system. They say that even though the game will be on the tiny system, it will be packed with content: 800 cars to race around on 35 tracks with multiple variations that actually allow for 60 different race route. In singleplayer, you'll be able to run singleplayer time trials, and there will also be a mode to help your driving improve. Multiplayer will bring ad hoc four player racing as well as the ability to trade cars back and forth with your friends.
The game will release on October 1, right alongside the new PSP system.

Details are slim, but tucked between talk of Dissidia: Final Fantasy and the Hannah Montana PSP bundle, Sony announced that Castlevania Bloodlines would be out on the PSP November 10. We're guessing that it will be a 3D remake of the Genesis game on the order of Dracula X Chronicles. It might not be the biggest announcement out of either Konami or Sony, but it's more Castlevania!

Metal Gear Solid is coming to the Xbox 360. We know that. But another Metal Gear Solid is also coming to the PSP. Oh, we knew that too! Here's what we didn't know until now.
That new portable Metal Gear game is more than likely called Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, as GamesPress is listing the Konami title for a 2010 release. And since it's for the PlayStation Portable, we'd expect that the title will be announced at Sony's E3 press conference tomorrow alongside the PSP Go.
Whether Peace Walker will feature Raiden, as Metal Gear Solid: Rising will, or Big Boss, also teased on the Kojima Productions web site, we'll find out soon. But what I'm hoping we find out is exactly what the term "Peace Walker" means.

KOEI has unveiled PS3 and Xbox 360 game Warriors: Legends of Troy, which hopes to launch next spring.
It's a tactical action affair with online co-op for four players, both co-operatively and competitively. Sounds a bit like Dynasty Warriors but with a choice of Trojan or Greek forces rather than the Ancient Chinese.
The setting takes inspiration from Homer's epic poem The Iliad, which has been interpreted by many over the years, resulting in lots of wooden horses, muscular thighs and Brad Pitt, who pouts the good pout. We're told to expect plenty of larger-than-life characters and mythical creatures sent down by the gods.

Just as expected, Sony just announced the PSP Go! at E3 just now -- Haz Kirai called it the "worst kept secret at E3." The slider handheld has a 3.8-inch LCD, built-in Bluetooth and 16GB of internal storage, all in a case 43 percent lighter than the PSP-3000 -- a weight savings we're guessing is directly attributable to the loss of the UMD drive. That's right, the Go! doesn't have a UMD drive -- games will instead load in through the Memory Stick Micro slot or over PlayStation Network. That's not the end of the classic PSP, though -- Sony says it will "live on."

Ubisoft has revealed an all-new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game for Wii, plus an arcade remake for PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade.
The all-new TMNT game, subtitled Smash-Up, will be made in collaboration with Peter Laird, who co-created the Turtles. GameArts, the team who helped make Super Smash Bros. Brawl, will also contribute, and we're promised four-player co-op across story, mini-game and multiplayer modes.
Smash-Up's out in the autumn and we've got an E3 trailer plus screenshots to look at.
The arcade remake, on the other hand, is called TMNT: Turtles in Time Re-Shelled. We first heard about this in May, remember, although nothing conclusive was offered.
Re-Shelled has side-scrolling, four-player action, just like the olden times but with better graphics. There's no word on price, but the release date is set as 22nd July.

Details have leaked of a new Konami title named Castlevania: Lords of Shadow for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation, which is apparently being created with involvement from Kojima Productions.
A game entitled simply Lords of Shadows was first announced at Game Convention in August 2008 from Spanish developer Mercury Steam. However, new information leaked ahead of Konami's E3 conference on Wednesday suggests that the game has become part of the long-running Castlevania series.
When originally announced the game was described as being a "third person-viewed adventure" set "in Southern Europe during the middle ages" and telling a "dark fairy tale". In retrospect not only does the gameplay appear similar to the Castlevania series but the production art is highly reminiscent of the franchise.
Madrid-based studio Mercury Steam is best known for previous titles American McGee presents: Scrapland and Clive Barker's Jericho. However in information mistakenly released ahead of time Kojima Productions is now listed as the developer of the game. Konami producer Koji "IGA" Igarashi has previously been producer on the last several iterations of the Castlevania series.

Sony Ericsson already tipped its hand by including nothing but plain old microSD in its recently announced Satio, Yari and Aino phones (not to mention the K850 even further back), but it looks like TrustedReviews has now gotten the official word straight from the source: SE is dropping Sony's own Memory Stick Micro format (or M2) in favor of the decidedly more standard microSD. While it's not clear if that'll be a clean break from here on out or not, Sony Ericsson Global Marketing Director Fortuné Alexander did say that the company is "moving in that direction," and at least a few more still unannounced handsets have apparently already made the switch. Next thing you know Sony will be dumping UMD. Oh wait.

DOSBox is a DOS-emulator using SDL for easy portability to different platforms. DOSBox has already been ported to several different platforms, such as Windows, BeOS, Linux, Mac OS X... DOSBox emulates a 286/386 realmode CPU, Directory FileSystem/XMS/EMS, a SoundBlaster card for excellent sound compatibility with older games... You can "re-live" the good old days with the help of DOSBox, it can run plenty of the old classics that don't run on your new computer!
