E3'09: Both consoles will ‘perform to their limits’, though the PC edition will ‘outperform’ all
Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli has told MCV's sister mag Develop that there will be little discernable difference between the Xbox 360 and PS3 editions of Crysis 2, though the PC version will push ahead of the pack.
Many believe that the engine can push the PS3 and Xbox 360 to their limits, and thus, reveal the high-end differences in hardware power between each.

E3’09: Sony smart to embrace digital distribution, says the team behind PSP games Worms Open Warfare and Lemmings
Team 17 Studio Head Martyn Brown has praised Sony’s newest PSP console, adding that the platform holder has made a wise move in embracing digital distribution.
Brown, however, did not offer the same level of praise for Sony’s UMD format.
“I think it's fair to say that the UMD as a media format never really got going,” he said, “and I think it's clever for Sony to embrace digital distribution.”

Article from Gizmodo:
I just finished groping the PSP Go! After a few minutes with the new handheld, I know why Sony is keeping the classic PSP intact.
The PSP Go! feels considerably smaller than the wider PSP—mostly because it is. And the feeling of actually playing is akin to a cellphone/PSP hybrid, a device like we expected to see from Ericsson for some time. Borrowing from Kotaku's game review process for a moment, here's my take on the PSP Go!:
What I Loved:
• The chrome triggers are the perfect level of clicky, and they extrude from the Go's body at just the right amount.
• With brushed metal, piano black and matte black, it's a nice looking machine in person with hardware that, for the most part, feels premium.
What I'm Not Sure About:
• Both the D-Pad and main game buttons don't press down very much. Sure, they were responsive, but it barely felt like you were pushing them down. The feeling would take some getting used to.
• The position of the single analog stick makes the device feel smaller than it really is (in a bad way). And it's just tough to use in its current, tiny-hand-intended system. I was left wondering, is the PSP Go! small, or are my hands just big?
What I Hated:
• The start/select buttons are just a waste of space on the controller. They could have been stuck anywhere. Instead, they spite you, taking up the spot that the second analog should be. Also, these two buttons simply don't feel as premium as the rest of the device.
We didn't get to open and close the Go, and with the system tethered for security, we have no idea how it really feels to carry around and put in your pocket. But our first impression is that, even though it's not the latest and greatest, the older PSP 3000 will retain a following for the larger-handed gamers in the audience.

AiLive's gesture recognition tech available for free to registered developers
Sony revealed its motion-sensing 'wand' controller at its press conference yesterday - and already it's revealed its plans to help developers get the most of the peripheral.
AiLive – company which co-developed the Wii MotionPlus together with Nintendo – will make its LiveMove 2 motion recognition software available for free to all licensed PS3 developers thanks to a new deal with Sony Computer Entertainment.
Developers can 'train' the software to understand key gestures, which can then be accurately recognised when performed by players, taking the burden of motion interpretation away from game teams.
"The phenomenal precision of SCE's new controller combined with the effortless expressive power of AiLive's LiveMove 2 will dramatically expand the frontier for natural motion control in games," said Dr.
Wei Yen, chairman of AiLive
"Our market-proven LiveMove 2 software gives developers the power to inject freeform player motion directly into their game. We're thrilled to help deliver this unparalleled level of control to PLAYSTATION® 3 players."
Masayuki Chatani, executive vice president and chief technology officer at Sony Computer Entertainment, added: "The LiveMove 2 development tool is the premier solution for recognizing human gestures in games. I am very happy to be able to make this revolutionary tool available to all PLAYSTATION® 3 developers. We eagerly look forward to the new and engaging game experiences developers will create for the PLAYSTATION® 3 with the help of LiveMove."

Tucked in between the "worst kept secret" PSP Go and motion control demos at its E3 press conference, Sony also revealed new content for the PlayStation Network video service, and the ability to download video directly to the PSP, no PS3 or PC intermediary needed. No word on when to expect the new content exactly, but it will include video from Showtime Networks, Starz, G4 & E!, Summit Entertainment, The Weinstein Company, HDNet & Magnolia Pictures, Anime Network, Media Blasters, Right Stuf's Nozomi Entertainment, Starz Media's Manga Entertainment, Toei Animation, Viz Media, WEP, UFC, TNA and Video Action Sports. Looks like Sony will have easy on the go access to video store content up and running before Microsoft gets its Zune integration act together, but whether that compares to 1080p instant streaming promises remains to be seen (Hint: first one with direct Hulu access wins, we're just saying, guys.) Check out Sony's trailer embedded after the break.

Apparently word is slowly trickling through Sony that its brand new handheld is actually called PSPgo (at least according to the second of two pieces of PR we've seen on the thing). We're guessing a similar word of mouth pace will operate in the inverse to communicate to top Sony brass that most folks think $250 for years-old gaming handheld hardware is a little steep these days. Of course, sequestered in our Engadget HQ and flush with cash from a hefty hit and run settlement a couple years back, we're more curious as to what you think about the price and feature set here. Don't be shy, just let it all out.
Is Sony's PSPgo just what you needed, or an overpriced rehash?

News/release from Xteaph-N
Here is the 2nd version of my demo. I've rewritten the framework so now it can easily support many different magics, allies, and enemies. This demo has 2 spells, 1 enemy, and 2 players. The battle system is at this point pretty much complete. Just in case your wondering the controls are; circle is always confirm and X is always deny, in menus. I just have to finsh a few for things with the magic and it will be complete.

News/release from warlock
Meh... fixed a few bugs here and there... its in the changelog...
If you dont know what it is...
Don't you hate when you are playing a game and about to beat the level and your psp power is low and you have to run to go get the charger? Well that is no more because with the Psp Power Saver you can now play for longer periods time.Just enable the prx and viola. This is just a beta release so you probably wont notice the power increase because its only about a 10% increase. In later revisions i will attempt to amp it up to about 50 or 100%. So enjoy... I am not responsible for your psp blowing up when you use this This project is closed source for now, i wont release the source until i abandon the project or until i cant do anything else with it...
How it works:
This turns off the umd driver when you are not using it (iso/cso, Homebrew, internet, music ect.) In turn this will save you about 5% of power. Also turns off the drivers that load up the rss channel, location free player, gocam, and the internet radio. (You can still use these they just are off when you are not)
Installation:
Put the PspPowerSaver.prx in your seplugins folder And add
ms0:/seplugins/PspPowerSaver.prx to your game.txt
Changelog:
v.0.0.8
-Fixed a few bugs, having to do with the powersaver battling for ram against prxs like cxmb and nitepr causing random shutoffs
-Psppacked it now it runs smoother

Now that Sony's press conference is over and the PSP Go has officially been unveiled to the public (beyond last weekend's unfortunate leak), we here at IGN have one burning question: what will you do with all your old UMDs once you own a shiny Go?
We took a moment after the show to ask Sony representatives about this dire dilemma. Their answer: "we're definitely exploring opportunities."
This doesn't tell us much, but we can only hope that there will be an easy way to transfer UMDs onto the Go's internal memory without shelling out some big bucks.

Sony has announced plans to release Buzz! Quiz World for PS3 and PSP "later this year" in PAL territories.
The new PS3 release allows you to build a personal player profile, which tracks how you're doing "not through a leaderboard but through the words of Buzz himself".
Yes, Jason Donavon will address you by name and keep notes especially for you, quipping about you as you play.
There are also 5000 brand new questions, new character models, new rounds "including a highly messy gunge tank round" and other new game modes.
Those of you who like sofa-versus-sofa play over PlayStation Network will also enjoy the eight-player match-ups, we expect.
Meanwhile, the matching PSP version has 4500 questions (and can download additional packs from the internet), and includes an improved Pass Around mode for six players.

Sony has announced that SingStar: Motown will head to PS3 and PS2 this year, packing songs from legends like Marvin Gaye, The Supremes and Stevie Wonder.
There's little else to go on for now, and we presume a tracklist will be forthcoming. But otherwise this is much the same deal as SingStar Queen and SingStar ABBA.
Sony also promises brand new online community features for SingStar PS3 this September. These will be a video editor that has an "array of special effects" to spruce up home movies, and SingStar Clubs - a tool allowing like-mined members of SingStar Online to group together and share stuff.

Sony Europe has announced that PS3 downloadable music video service VidZone will be out here on 11th June.
This, remember, is different to the full movie store, which we're told is still happening here.
Music videos can be grabbed and then played, paused, rewound and generally manipulated. They can also be sorted into playlists for parties, for example.
The date announcements coincides with an avalanche of assets following the Sony E3 conference, which packed more of a punch than many expected.
