A new developer joins the crew creating their own custom firmware . While we have seen many users with little knowledge they have created their own custom firmware, this is not the case of Habib , which incorporates very choices interesting to their firmwares, like the possibility to install PSP games remastered , or functionality OtherOS , us that SONY removed in firmware 3.21.

The idea behind Share Play, the most prominent feature of Sony's soon to arrive and feature-packed Firmware 2.0, is that it enables you to pass the controller to a friend as if you were sitting on the sofa together. Except the sofa is now the internet - if you're friends with someone, you can play multiplayer games with them, or even let them take control of your machine as if you'd physically handed them the pad. Anyone, anywhere. This is a platform specific feature too, so publishers will have to specifically opt out. Talking to Sony, even things like alphas and betas would require the feature to be turned off.
The option is accessed from the Share button menu, where there are two new choices: Give Controller to Player and Play a Game Together. In the demo the latter was used to play a two-player game of FIFA 15 across two machines connected across an internet connection (network requirements were diplomatically avoided but Sony did say it had been modelled on 'standard broadband connections'). Seeing it in action almost seemed to be too good to be true - no lag, no noticeable issues, not even any obvious way of knowing you weren't actually playing the game on the guest machine itself.
There are a few limitations, such as a 720p resolution and unspecified framerate cap to the host machine's stream, and a 60 minute limit to each sharing session. Both host and guest need to be PS Plus subscribers for the Play a Game Together mode as it's effectively multiplayer, while for the Give Controller to Player option, only the host needs to be a subscriber. Either way, for all intents and purposes while the game is shared, your friend might as well have a disc in the machine. There are other limitations - trophies are only earned on the host's account (and helpfully notifications only appear on their respective machines). To clarify what you can and can't do with a Shared game, Sony's message throughout the demo was that the new feature lets the guest do only 'what the host console does, no more'.
Sony has effectively made games free for anyone persistent enough to play through them in chunks.
Which is where that first option, Give Controller to Player, gets interesting. While the 60 minute limit to a Share session exists, there's nothing to stop you simply starting again as soon as it's up. If two gamers are motivated enough they can just keep sharing. In theory you could finish a game without ever owning it. True, you'll never earn the trophies, but Sony has effectively made games free for anyone persistent enough to play through it in chunks.
But what of other possibilities? Can't be bothered to earn a platinum? Or level up in Destiny? You could use Share Play to let someone else do it for you. It's a cynical view obviously but you've only got to look at MMO farming to see that it happens. It was especially interesting to see the post-demo conversation immediately throwing around potential ways to abuse the system. If there is a way, gamers will find it. A great example would be when the PS4's Share function first went live and people almost immediately found you could use PlayRoom to stream non-gaming content (in some cases to horrible effect).
Share Play, then, is a literal game changer, but while it might be the most prominent features of the new update it's only one of a range of new features. You'll be able to Share footage directly to YouTube now, for example (as long as you have a Google account). Whether that creates the same deluge of content it created for Twitch the first time round remains to be seen, but it's arguably a more significant addition than streaming originally was. On the Twitch side of things the interface has had a revamp, with featured content and the ability to follow favourite broadcasters.

Sony has issued a preview trailer for the PlayStation 4's impending "Masamune" update, due to hit consoles worldwide starting tomorrow.
After installing tomorrow's update, PS4 users can access the console's long-promised Share Play feature, which allows players to invite a friend to take over their gameplay or join as a remote co-op partner. Other new and revamped features promised in the video above include YouTube video uploads, voice commands, dashboard themes, a redesigned party interface, livestream browsing by game, and download pausing and resuming.
Sony will also launch a firmware update for the PS Vita and PlayStation TV later tonight, introducing the stream-viewing Live from PlayStation app for both devices and 4-player Remote Play support for the PS TV.

PS3 owners will soon be able to buy entire series of TV shows for a single lump sum on PSN.
The digital marketplace’s Video Unlimited section will as of today allow people to buy access to specific TV series, even if some episodes have yet to be released. Once purchased a series will take up residence in the My Videos section of PSN, from where they can be accessed.
Until now, users had to buy individual episodes separately.
To mark the new feature some TV series, such as The Walking Dead, are due to go on sale.
The Season Pass should be available on PS3, on mobile and on the PSN website shortly with a rollout planned on PS4, Bravia TVs and some Blu-ray players “soon”.

Sony has confirmed that the significant PS4 firmware update, version 2.0, will be released on October 28.
Dubbed the 'Masamune' update, the patch will add the long-awaited Share Play feature, which allows players to pass control of their game to another PS4 owner remotely via the internet.
The anticipated feature was first announced during the PS4 unveiling in February 2013, but missed the PS4 launch and was yet to surface on the console.
"Let's go from sitting back and watching friends play to actually jumping into games remotely and sharing great experiences together in real time," said Sony in an official announcement.
The PS4 firmware 2.0 update will also add video upload support for YouTube, along with "dedicated app support". The PS4's activity board, 'What's New', will also be revised.
The system will also get themes, a USB music player, much improved live broadcasting abilities, and a new way of finding friends on PS4.
The home menu will also see improvements. More details on the update can be found through here, along with a preview trailer.

When next Tuesday's 2.0 update hits for the PlayStation 4, Sony will finally turn one of the most ambitious promises it made when the console was first announced a reality. We're talking about Share Play, of course. We know: the ability to virtually hand a controller off to a pal via the internet and have them work through a game's tricky section for you sounds kinda like magic -- the type that only Disney is capable of. But, in theory it sounds pretty simple, and the catch-up king has recently released a video that walks through the process step by step. From the looks of it, the new feature is added as an option from the DualShock 4's Share button. Naturally. How well it all works in the wild, however, remains to be seen.

Sony's digital TV and movie marketplace Video Unlimited will revieve a new 'Season Pass' feature, the company has announced.
Users of the Video Unlimited service will be able to purchase entire seasons of TV shows at once for a single lump sum, including current seasons with episodes that are yet to be released. Until now users were only able to purchase individual episodes.
Purchased seasons will appear in the My Videos section of the PlayStation Store or Video Unlimited account, where any future episodes will be viewable as soon as they become available.
The new 'Buy Season' button will be added to the PS Store on PS3, via the web and mobiles on thursday, October 24. Sony says the feature is "coming soon" to PS4, and Sony Bravia televisions and Blu-ray Disc players (released 2013 or later).
To coincide with the launch of Season Pass, some is also running discounts "on full seasons of our most popular TV series", inlcuding The Walking Dead, from October 30 to November 17.

October 19th, 2014, 22:23 Posted By: wraggster
I've just read Wololo's recent article about how the actual 3.30 firmware for SONY's PlayStation VITA changed a lot of things in the scene. Please read it before this post, as I won't sum up everything again here.
Many patches prevent current hacks and exploits to be used on firmware 3.30.
But the question is: "Do we really need 3.30?"
If you waited your whole life for theme-support on the PSV, then you probably do need it. But that's not the case for the majority in my view. The scene should now finally focus on one firmware which is 3.18.
WebKit, PKG Installer and PSP Emu exploits on this firmware give us all opportunities required to develop a decent homebrew-enabled and native hackable system. Updating the operating system can be targeted at a later time, just like it was done for the PS3.
It's kind of useless to play SONY's cat and mouse game and re-develop PSP emulator exploits for every firmware just to wait for the next patch again.
And for those who still care about 3.30 - Yes, I can confirm the PKG Installer is still working on it.
An even more interesting information for you might be that there is a way to install PKG files without even touching the PKG Installer application
Good luck and stay focused,

Driveclub is currently facing a lot of problems including a few delays, server-side problems and more. Today a friend from Hong Kong told me about a major bug which he faced due the release day of Driveclub.
Since he is PS+ subscriber, he has access to the free PS+ version of Driveclub. He added it to his download list, waiting for the next time he'd be online.
Meanwhile he also purchased the disc version of Driveclub. Full of "GREATNESS AWAITS" thoughts, he turned on his PS4 and went online.
As the Driveclub PS+ version was already in his download list, it began to download. While the game was downloading, he wanted to use his disc version and pushed it inside the PlayStation 4's Blu-Ray drive.
It seems that no one actually ever tested if a user would do that. The disc drive of my friend stopped working right away. Ejecting and inserting works fine, but the PS4 won't read any disc anymore.
We guess that this happened because the disc version and the PS+ version share the same TitleID and that having the same one mounted twice is impossible to handle for the PS4. Inserting any disc simply results in a popup, showing that the game is already inserted.
Rebooting the system or anything safe-mode like did not help. Currently his PS4 sits in a service center waiting for a solution.

Modder Ed Zarick, creator of an Xbox One / laptop hybrid called the "Xbook One" is back at work making this generation of consoles more mobile. This week, heshares with us the "Playbook 4," a combination of Sony's PlayStation 4, custom 3D printed parts and a 22-inch Vizio televsion.
Like the Xbook One, the Playbook 4 is portable, but not entirely so - it still requires a wall outlet for power, so your options on where you can use it are limited. Still, there are plenty of outlets in the world, right? Got an hour to kill between college classes? Playbook 4. Long wait in the doctor's office? Playbook 4.
Wherever you go, we imagine you'll want to take extra special care of it. The system costs roughly $1500, after all (though the price comes down to $1095 plus shipping if you send Zarick your own PS4). To see the system in action, check out Zarick's overview video after the break.

Sony confirmed today that UK buyers can purchase a white PS4 standalone starting this Friday, October 17. Sony Computer Entertainment Europe toldVideoGamer this morning that an Amazon UK listing for the game-less, snowy white system was accurate.
The retailer currently has the white PS4 listed at the nice, round figure of £351.86.Earlier this year, Sony said the "Glacier White" PS4 would be available separately in Europe at a recommended retail price of 399 euros. [Update: Sony confirmed to Eurogamer the recommended retail price is £349]

The PlayStation TV launches today in North America boasting compatibility with a large number of PSP, PS Vita, and PS minis games, but users at NeoGAF point out that a last-minute compatibility update renders several major titles unplayable on Sony's new hardware.
Just prior to the system's stateside launch, Sony updated its PlayStation TVcompatibility list, removing entries for notable PSP games like Twisted Metal: Head-On, Valkyria Chronicles 2, and WipeOut Pure. Several Konami-published PSone games are also no longer compatible with the PlayStation TV, includingMetal Gear Solid, Silent Hill, and Suikoden.
The lack of omitted games that begin with the letters A through L suggests thatSony may be sorting out cross-platform rights issues alphabetically. While SNK-published PS minis games like Time Soldiers and Vanguard didn't make the cut, fellow SNK Arcade Classics 0 ports like Athena and Guerrilla War remain listed, hinting that further compatibility updates may be in store.
Positioned as a non-portable alternative to Sony's PS Vita system, the PlayStation TV plugs into any HDMI-equipped television and plays games and movies downloaded from the PlayStation Network. The system is available today as a $99.99 standalone package and bundled with a DualShock 3 controller and memory card for $139.99.

According to an MCV report, Sony devotees in the UK planning to pick up a PlayStation 4 will soon have a new option to consider: a bundle including the console, FIFA 15 and Minecraft for £350. That price point matches that of the Glacier White PlayStation 4, which will be appearing in the UK on October 17.
We attempted to contact Sony to see if there's any chance the aforementioned bundle might appear outside of the UK - specifically, in North America - but the company would neither confirm the UK bundle, nor reveal an upcoming bundle aimed at the North American audience. Given the relative popularity of the FIFA series (and soccer in general) in the UK versus North America, it would come as little surprise if the bundle were exclusive to that side of the Atlantic.

We're creeping up to the PlayStation 4's one year anniversary and the system is finallygetting its 2.0 firmware update. Even better, there are a bunch of surprises; let's dive in. First up we have the expected: SharePlay which lets you virtually pass the controller for help, YouTube exports and themes. A post PlayStation Blog notes that in addition to those, a USB music player, the ability to change colors of the PS4 dashboard (if custom themes aren't your thing), as well as improvements to streaming are en route. There's content organization, voice commands and, last but not least, a new backup feature that lets you archive all your settings, media and data to a USB device coming too. Like theXbox One patch that hit this week, this adds a whole slew of features that ideally would have been available when the system launched last year. Join us after the jump for a breakdown, yeah?
