In the PS3 community know very well that we have very demanding users who like to keep trying and trying to keep some tool, CFW, etc definite as fit as possible to their needs which is why we wanted to add another Custom firmware more many of which are known, with the same advantages as the other , but with perhaps some variations that could be definitive for those seeking other features, we invite you to also try the Custom firmware Ferrox .

Sony's North American arm has released PS3 system software update 4.65.
The company calls it "a minor optional update that improves stability during the use of some features".
Over the weekend, PlayStation Network was disabled for the better part of a day as a result of a Distributed Denial of Service attack.
Sony has since moved to reassure users that it found no evidence of unauthorised access to personal information following the attack.
PS3 launched in Japan and the US in November 2006 and in Europe in March 2007. Worldwide PS3 sales to retailers had cleared 80 million units as of November 2013.
Sony will cut the PS3 price in Japan this Thursday August 28, when it will discontinue all existing hardware models and launch a new one called CECH-4300C.
A representative for PlayStation's European arm told CVG this month that the PS3 price cut is Japan specific and the company has nothing to announce regarding any similar plans.

A recent Nielsen study found that 31 per cent of PlayStation 4 owners already had an an Xbox 360 or Wii, but not a PlayStation 3. 17 per cent didn't have any of the old-gen consoles.
The study did not ask if any of that 31 per cent had owned a PlayStation in the past, but still suggested gamers were not die-hard brand loyalists when it came to upgrading their kit.
The data was provided to Re/code and the study took place between February and April and featured 1,200 gamers aged seven to 54.
Sony recently used Gamescom to let people know it had sold 10 million consoles worldwide.
"The 10m sell through in the first nine months is well beyond what we had hoped for," said Sony's Shuhei Yoshida in a recent interview.
"I'm asking marketing people to tell us why. They've been to people who already purchased, and some of the early data was amazing in terms of the number of people who didn't used to own PS3 have already purchased PS4. So we are getting lots of new customers coming into PlayStation. And some people never purchased any last-gen hardware: PS3, or Xbox 360 or Nintendo Wii. So where did they come from?"

PSP developer Joel16 has progressed his impressive PSP application called Cyanogenmod PSP-C. This application goal is to be like the famous IR Shell psp homebrew, but with a much cleaner look inspired by the Android Cyanogenmod UI. The developer has been adding various function and features since the UI portion of the app is very polished. In Alpha Version 2.1 there was the addition of a working file browser, plus various other additions and fixes. View all the details in the changelogs below to see the changes in Alpha Builds v2.0 & v2.1
What is CyanogenMod PSP-C?
This is a C port of my CyanogenMod Shell. This isn't a port of cyanogenmod for android, it's a project created from scratch. It will never allow you to run android apps, the psp system doesn't have the hardware capabilities to run android. It's purpose is similar to that of "iR Shell", but with a UI inspired by CyanogenMod. If developers are intrested, feel free to contact me through my email: sauskethunderkid@gmail.com
Changes in Alpha Build 2.1:
Added New version (Alpha Build 2.1) The file manager may have some issues, I haven't tested properly, but most of it seems to work. I'll add functions like cut/copy/paste in future updates, for now all I've added is navigation.
Features:
•Redefined analog controls (The directional keys can no longer be used to navigate the cursor.) I can revert this if users don't like it.
•Display current directory in file manager.
•Added folder icons in file manager. (For now all the files have a 'unknown' file icon. I'll add their respective icons later. (For example .png & .txt)
Fixes:
•Fixed Apollo, and Messages (apps) not being able to be launched from the home screen.
•Fixed file manager.

The PlayStation 4 has well and truly arrived, but Sony's still selling its last-gen console by the pallet-load, eight years after first going on sale. Of course, as a new article points out, that's nothing compared to the PS2's astonishing 13 year manufacturing run. To help achieve that, the author outlines some tech fixes the PS3 could still do with, even after all this time, from tighter PS Vita integration, to yes, cross game chat. Can it make it past a decade, too?"

Sony Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida recently admitted he's a "bit nervous" about the success of the PlayStation 4. The console has sold 10 million units and the current generation is trending stronger than last. Will it run out of core customers?
"You need to understand why your products are selling well so you can plan for the future, right? It defied the conventional thinking," Yoshida recently toldEurogamer. "Lots of people thought the dedicated game hardware might not be needed going forward, but still lots of people are very excited."
The rightful concern Yoshida brings up is that Sony will exhaust the core customer. That the number of consumers interested in playing video games is a finite number that the company will rapidly reach with the new console. The good news for Sony is its initial market research is showing it's obtaining lots of new customers who didn't own a PS3, with some who didn't own any last-gen hardware.

Forget those bills, bills, bills UK friends, because GAME is now offering the white PS4 Destiny bundle at £350, the same price as a standard PS4. The new bundle is exclusive to GAME in the UK, and the high street retailer originally listed it at £385 before cutting the price this week. The bundle will be available alongside the game on September 9.
As MCV reports, the price drop follows undercutting by rival retailers like Amazon, which currently has a black PS4 and Destiny bundle going at £330. A standalone version of the white PS4 is confirmed to be coming to Europe later this year.

Jpcsp SVN r3590 is compiled. JPCSP is the most advanced PlayStation Portable(PSP) emulator, allowing you to play your PSP games on a PC. Even though Jpcsp is written in Java, it can already reach 100% PSP speed on a lot of commercial games... and the emulator performance is constantly increasing. Jpcsp takes full advantage of dual-core processors, matching the PSP dual-core architecture. Even a quad-core can give a small performance improvement by leaving free CPU cores for the Java JIT Compiler and the graphics cache.
Jpcsp SVN changelog:
r3588
Always store the GE and FB in a 32-bit texture, 16-bit textures are causing
color artifacts.
r3589
Check for video textures also during memset, not just memcpy. This could avoid
flickering while playing MPEG videos.
r3590
Avoid locking the scheduler while executing an Interrupt handler.

PCSX2 Git (2014/08/16) is compiled. PCSX2 is an open source PlayStation 2 (PS2) emulator for the Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems. With the most recent versions, many PS2 games are playable (although speed limitations have made play-to-completion tests for many games impractical), and several games are claimed to have full functionality.
PCSX2 Git Changelog:
* Merge pull request #241 from Kingcom/Debugger
Always enable debugger
* Always enable debugger
* You know that commit where I removed the GTE? Apparently I didn't.
* Merge pull request #242 from Kingcom/ShareIso
Allow to share writing to the ISO through an ini option
* Allow to share writing to the ISO through an ini option
* Removed System.map symbol file support.
I'm not sure what this is actually to be honest, ancient release notes say it was ps2linux related but I don't think this is Linux System.map compatible... regardless ps2linux isn't exactly high on our priority list.
* Load symbols from ELFs. (Thanks Kingcom for this one liner.)
* Removed long disabled code for inserting command line parameters for ELFs into EE memory. We'd have to do this completely differently in the current system anyway.
* Removed actual ELF loading from the ELF parser as we leave this up to the BIOS now.
* Replaced some printf(string)s with printf("%s", string) in R5900 block dumping.
* Merge pull request #240 from Kingcom/DisR5900Removal
Remove redundant Disr5900
* Remove redundant Disr5900
* Scrapped abortive GTE (PSX GPU) support so that certain people can stop fiddling with untestable code. We don't know whether the PS2 even has a hardware GTE and thanks to the miracle that is source control we can revive this module if needed.
* Merge pull request #239 from xsacha/stats_removal
Remove Stats.{cpp,h}, which was not being used by anything.
* Remove Stats.{cpp,h}, which was not being used by anything.
* Merge pull request #209 from xsacha/jASSUME
Remove deprecated jASSUME from pcsx2 core. It is still used in some plugins.
[I should note that this may change the performance of the devel target on msvc as jASSUME was compiling to __assume on devel and release while pxAssume only compiles to __assume on release]
