The developer aldostools fate PRX + Mamba Loader, a change in "VSH PRX Loader" based Irisman. We can now load Webman and have support for ISO Ps3 not on Custom Cobra.
This homebrew based on Irisman simply loads a payload and patches and installs the payload into memory and starts Mamba "VSH PRX loader" with "Webman-MOD." new / fixed: [1.01] - Loads WEBMAN 01/30/27 - Fixed an error with the IDPS and fan control on Custom 4.65 - To load another plugin, edit the "/dev_hdd0/game/IRISMAN01/USRDIR/plugins.txt" file PRX Loader + Mamba

After we checked the environment of the PS4, we should continue with more detailed analysis where, how and what we can im- & export from the system to actually affect it.
Let's see what our general I/O possibilities are first:
USB
Have you noticed the application "SHAREfactory" on your PS4? One of it's interesting features is to import music files via USB. Vulnerability? Maybe. At least FFmpeg has all actual patches applied.
 |
SHAREfactory USB music import. Also useful as mediaplayer |
Another USB feature is the import and export of screenshots, gameplay videos and savegames. Worth to check I'd say.
HDD
As expected the HDD is encrypted so you can't do much here, yet. But remember the PS3 HDD Encryption Fail!
WIFI / LAN
Yes, this is my favorite one. Please understand that I'll keep some details here to prevent unnecessary patches before things get gold.
As always for network sniffing, modding and more, you can either use Wireshark, Charles, or SKFU's Pr0xy.
One interesting thing we found is about "Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn". If you check the game due it's startup you may notice that it receives patch files in-game and not as other games as PKG before the bootup of the game.
http://patch-bootver.ffxiv.com/http/ps4/ffxivneo_release_boot_eu/2014.04.02.0000.0000/?time=2014-04-04-11
A quick look in the downloaded file shows us that it downloads a ".patch" file. This file is installed just like a .PKG file but without it's header checks. Vulnerability? Maybe.
There may be a lot more vulnerable games but since we are still not super-rich, we really appreciate any PSN code donation to research more of them. If you would like to contribute, push a PSN code to skfu@skfu.xxx. USA and German PSN codes are welcome! Thanks in advance!
HDMI
HDMI and vulnerable I/O? Yes! Not many people think about it, but HDMI has 2 nice features called CEC and HEC. There's even a good documentation about CEC vulnerability testing here.
I have only briefly researched this, so I am counting on you guys! More information about this topic is available here.
DISC DRIVE
Well, you can already dump PS4 games with specific BD drives on your PC and check it's content.
Another interesting and often forgotten feature is the ability to run Homebrew via BD-J. The whole BD-J system is based on Java 1.3 -> Vulnerability? Maybe.
Hereby I do release a minimal PS4 BD-J SDK which is based on FreePlay's Minimal BD-J SDK for PS3, credits to him! It also contains a small "Hello World" example which is just for testing purpose aka it's dirty test code only.
ADDITIONAL DEVICES
The PlayStation4 supports some additional devices which communicate with each other. This includes for example the PlayStation VITA but also mobile phones with installed companion applications which can lead to interesting results as shown in "PS4 - The State of Things Part II"!
Remember that you can decrypt any companion application traffic for smartphones with Charles and/or a little bit of RE.
Other devices are Bluetooth connected like headsets, remote controllers etc. Can be sniffed, can be analyzed.

Happy hacking!

PS4 has just posted its biggest week of the year in the US, and MCV can reveal it is the same for the UK, too.
A senior industry source quoting Chart-Track data told MCV that PS4 sales spiked 300 per cent week-on-week after the launch of Destiny. Of course, a percentage increase means noting without any actual figures, and although our source would not reveal exact numbers, he did confirm it was the biggest week of the year for PS4 hardware sales.
It outsold Xbox One hardware by two consoles to one, but it wasn't a bad week for Microsoft either, who also posted a significant sales hike week-on-week.
Destiny was bundled with PS4 hardware, and was heavily marketed alongside the console, so that explains why it has boosted PS4 sales so much. However, it's important to note that the 'average selling price' of Xbox One last week was just £306, the lowest price for either next-gen console since they launched. So Microsoft did benefit from the cheaper platform.
PS3 also had a good week and managed to beat sales of Xbox 360 hardware for a change. Again, there was a PS3/Destiny bundle.
It just goes to show that the 'unprecedented' partnership between Sony and Activision may have been worth the investment.
Microsoft will have a good chance to fight back this month, however. The firm has a partnership with EA for FIFA 15 (out September 26th), and it has its own relationship with Activision for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, which arrives on November 4th.

You don't need a fancy current-gen console to stream all those Sony classics -- the company announced last night that its Netflix-esque PlayStation Now open beta is finally, well, open to PlayStation 3 owners in the United States and Canada. It's about time, really: PS3 owners have been part of the more selective closed beta program since January, but Sony opened the early access gates to folks with PlayStation 4s first. As always, though, be sure to keep a few things in mind before you take the plunge. You'll get access to some 150 PS3 titles as part of the deal (including forthcoming hits like inFAMOUS and Ultra Street Fighter IV) but rental prices for these games tend to range between $3 and $20. That span isn't awful, but considering you'd be able to pick up physical copies of some of those games for about the same price, you'll have to think about just how valuable picking up new games while immobile on the couch really is.

When Destiny launched, Activision said it had shipped $500 million worth of the Bungie shooter to retailers and platform holders. Five days later, more than half of that has found its way into customers' hands.
Activision today announced that Destiny has grossed $325 million in copies sold through to customers worldwide in its first five days on sale. That figure was cobbled together from Chart-Track, first-party feedback, retail customer sell-through information and the publisher's own internal estimates.
"Destiny fans played more than 100 million hours of the game in the first week," Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg said. "That's on par with the engagement levels of our most popular Call of Duty games, which obviously is an industry leader."
Hirshberg also stressed that Activision is treating Destiny as a new platform that will continue to grow. The original contract between Bungie and Activision called for the developer to create four games in the franchise over a 10-year period, with major downloadable expansion packs and more frequent interstitial downloadable content for each of the core titles. Activision has said it invested $500 million into launching the franchise.

Between leaks, developers Ps P / Vita still continue to grace us with their homebrew. Acid_Snake door Custom Firmware 3.18 on the ARK.
A few things to know about this release. First, it contains the first (and last) public version of "arkMenu" which is good for people who are waiting, but on the other hand a lot of functions are not fully functional, bugs are . present and will never be corrected because Acid_Snake finished with the PSP Development The good news and it will soon releaser the source code of the menu and the Custom, so the work could be continued by others. Installation: - Extract the archive to the backup folder of an exploit and run the exploit ARK

After a brief period of slowed development, PCSX2 has started picking up speed again with the help of new contributors as well as familiar faces. Several important improvements have been made since the last announcement.
The most important of these improvements is undoubtedly the new debugger. Our debugger has long been an area in need of attention, and thanks to Kingcom it has finally received a much needed overhaul. This new debugger will make it much easier to chase down the problems in broken games. Rama has already managed to get the NHL series working by using it! Featuring a live instruction assembler, thread view, full register view, a function list and more, this improved debugger will certainly be a boon for our developers.
Another area that has received welcome attention is work towards 64 bit compatibility. Although there is still a lot of work to be done before we release a 64 bit build, the foundation has been laid. GSdx compiles for x64 now, and several key changes have been made to the PCSX2 core to support x64 as well. These changes include preparing the emitter for 64 bit jumps, updating vtlb to work on x64, and changing instances of 32bit only code to be universal. These improvements help move us closer to having a true 64 bit build.
Linux matters have improved as well. Many of the new contributors use that OS instead of Windows and improvements here always help general portability in the long run.
Lastly, a few important changes have been made to some of the plugins. On top of general bug fixes, CDVDgigaherz now tries to keep the disc always spinning at a low speed instead of letting the drive spin all the way down. This improves game performance when using a physical disc because the drive is always ready to provide data. Lilypad also supports hot-plugging of Xinput devices now. That means if you forget to plug in your Xinput device before starting PCSX2, it will recognize it when it is plugged in without requiring a restart.
Here is a rundown of the most significant changes:
64 bit related:
- Changed instances of u32 to uptr
- Prepared emitter for 64 bit jumps
- Made yuv2rgb and hashmap functions 64 bit ready
- vtlb now works on on x64
- Supported grabbing the MXCSR mask on x86_64 in cpudetect
- GSdx now compiles for x64
VIF:
- Fixed “Looney Tunes: Back in Action”
Improved Debugger:
- Allows much easier debugging of broken games
- Already used to get “NHL” games working
- Features a live assembler (e.g. mark an instruction, type “nop” to replace that instruction with “nop”)
Plugins:
- Bug fixes for CDVDgigaherz
- CDVDgigaherz now prevents the drive from spinning all the way down which improves performance when playing from disc
- Lilypad supports hot-plugging of Xinput devices
Code cleanup:
- Changed int to bool for variables that only hold 0/1
- Fixes for potential crashes
- Fixes for potential variable leaks
- Preparation for WX3 (for now we still use a custom 2.8)
- Removed managed Vsync
- Folder name fixes for Windows/Linux
- Improved use of namespaces
- Fixes for ELF parser
- Started using generic memcpy instead of custom one(this actually brings a small speedup!)
Misc:
- Updated translations for several languages
