NES/GBA/GB/Lynx/PC Engine/PC-FX/Wonderswan/Genesis/SNES/VirtualBoy/PS1 emulator has been updated recently. Changes:
- Fixed some issues causing compilation errors on gcc 4.7.x.
- Conditionalize the compilation of shared hardware emulation components(such as 68K, Z80, YM2612, etc. emulators) based on what emulation modules are being compiled in, since support for loading external emulation modules never went anywhere, and if we do eventually add support for it, the exported symbols won't include the common specific hardware emulation components.
- Fixed some code causing compiler errors with clang 3.4.0.
- Fixed broken loading of save states made with 0.9.37+ on big-endian platforms(0.9.37 regression).
- fflush() before fstat() on the underlying file descriptor in FileStream::size() if the stream is open for writing.
- Added zlib type-size sanity tests to tests.cpp
- _LARGEFILE64_SOURCE and _LARGEFILE_SOURCE are now defined to "1" in config.h, for zlib purposes.
- PSX: Avoid undefined behavior(that wasn't currently causing any problems) in the CPU core.
- PSX: Clamp final SPU output samples(before volume adjustment and resampling) properly; lack of it wasn't causing any problems per-se, but it could have been an issue in the future.
- GB: Load GBC custom palette from "gbc.pal", not "gb.pal"(0.9.37 regression).

Hykem’s work Vitasploit seems to have rallied all developers of the Vita Webkit exploit (which works, do we need to remind it, up to firmware 3.18), and this week it received a fairly large update.
With new work from Hykem, @BBalling1 (Codelion), and MrNetrix, the latest commit includes functions to do memory allocation, check the gyroscope coordinates, get touch screen input and analog stick coordinates, as well as some graphics memory allocation.
you might remember BBalling1’s proof of concept of the gyroscope tracking in action last week (video below), well this is basically what this commit contains, to let everyone play with these new findings.

The PlayStation 4 is in high demand for the second holiday season in a row, according to Sony Computer Entertainment Europe CEO Andrew House. Without offering specific sales numbers, House told Reuters that the console is potentially "going to be quite inventory challenged." Shipments for the PS4 reached 13.5 million consoles as of the end of October.
"I'm not going to say you won't be able to find a PlayStation 4," House added. "I think it's going to be kind of hand to mouth in terms of that market." The CEO noted that sales for the system in December were in line with Sony's projections, though it was a "tougher" month thanks to the $50 holiday price cut by its main competitor in the United States, Microsoft's Xbox One. While its gaming division is thriving, Sony upped its loss forecast to $2 billion in September due to struggling smartphone sales and opted to not renew its FIFA sponsorship at the beginning of this month to spend more money on structural reforms.

December 20th, 2014, 23:02 Posted By: wraggster
UK games retailers expect the showdown between PS4 and Xbox One in 2015 to go down to the wire.
In MCV’s annual retail survey, 55 per cent of respondents tipped PS4 to end next year on-top, while 41 per cent backed Xbox One (the remainder went for other hardware).
Yet everyone surveyed anticipated that 2015 will not be anywhere near as one-sided as this year has been.
“It’s been all PlayStation for most of 2014,” said one store manager. “But 2015 it will be neck-and-neck. It’s tough to call.”
Last year, PS4 took 78 per cent of the vote, versus just 10 per cent for Xbox One.
The figures are part of MCV’s annual survey of UK retail store managers, which you can read more about right here.
The PlayStation 4 has been outselling the Xbox One for most of 2014, but Microsoft’s hardware saw a surge in momentum during the key Christmas sales period thanks to a number of key releases, bundles and price activity.

December 19th, 2014, 00:27 Posted By: wraggster
A widely publicised exploit that has allowed anyone to enter the ballot to buy a 20th Anniversary PS4 is to be shored up by Sony.
Yesterday one grumpy gamer published a post entitled "Hacking the PlayStation competition" that allowed people to access the purchase form without jumping through the hoops of the competition process.
“This blog post details a simple exploit that allows you to get hold of the secret form URL within seconds of the page going live,” author Dean Wild said. “I’ve published this information because this competition has been a complete scandal with people cheating and sharing the links on forums and twitter.
“My goal is to force Sony to shut down this shambles and distribute the consoles in a fairer way. Of course, they might just plug the hole so don’t be surprised if this exploit stops working.
"This was a pretty feeble attempt by Sony UK to make a fair and secure competition. This hack took me about an hour to knock up. Now this is out in the open is Sony going to try a little harder? Why don’t you stop this farce of a competition and raffle the consoles off for free? Also, buy some more servers you f*****g amateurs."
Now Sony has told Eurogamer that additional security measure have been put in place.
“We launched [the competition] with the intention of giving our true fans the best opportunity of purchasing the PS4 20th Anniversary Edition console," the company said.
"Unfortunately we are now aware of some users attempting to run programmes to reveal the URL early and give themselves an unfair advantage. Users we identify as using these tactics will be disqualified from the process and will continue to be. Since reports of this behaviour surfaced we have been adding additional encryptions and will continue to do so in advance of the final clue tomorrow."

When Plex first arrived on the Xbox One, we figured it would only be a matter of time before the service made its debut on the PlayStation 4. It's taken two months, but finally the company has released an app for Sony's latest console, giving Plex Pass subscribers another way to stream their favorite shows and movies on their TV. It's begun rolling out in Europe and Asia, but we suspect it'll reach the US PlayStation Store soon enough.

December 17th, 2014, 01:08 Posted By: wraggster
Sony has revealed how UK gamers will be able to buy the country's remaining stock of 20th Anniversary EditionPlayStation 4 consoles.
194 of the consoles were sold last week at a pop-up shop in London, and now Sony has detailed how users will be able to obtain one of the remaining units.
The process is rather elaborate, however, so here are the instructions directly from Sony:
1. Follow @PlayStationUK or @GAMEDigital on Twitter.
2. From Monday 15th at 11am you can head to eu.playstation.com/20yearsofcharacters and take a look at our fantastic image containing over 300 characters from PlayStation history. Study the image well and make sure you know your PlayStation characters.
3. At an allocated time each day @PlayStationUK and @GAMEDigital will tweet a clue using the hashtag #20YearsOfCharacters.
4. Solve the clue, find the character it corresponds to, zoom in so the blue cross appears and click it, if you are correct you will be given a link which will take you to a secret website by GAME. *Please note that the page will need to be refreshed at the given time before the daily link will be updated.
5. Once on the page please fill out the form with the details required. If you are in the first 100 people to submit the form you will receive an email from GAME within 24 hours of the link going live, giving you all the details you'll need to purchase your PlayStation 4 20th Anniversary Edition Console. Don't worry if you aren't in the first 100, every person who completes the form on the page before it closes will be entered into a daily prize draw and one person will be chosen at random to win a PlayStation 4 20th Anniversary Edition Console.
The consoles will be available on a first come first served basis with GAME via the application page, they will not be available from GAME.co.uk. Don't worry if you miss it, there will be a new allocation of stock every day from Monday until Friday next week giving you five separate chances to pick-up the PlayStation 4 20th Anniversary Edition Console.
Want to know when we will be tweeting? Take a look below and get ready (all times in GMT)-
Monday 4pm
Tuesday 5pm
Wednesday 2pm
Thursday 8am
Friday 12pm Sony stresses that GAME will only send these consoles out to UK addresses, as the UK has a set allocation of systems and this will ensure only Brits get them. Just 12,300 Anniversary Edition PS4s will be released worldwide.
"The volume is a close match with the original production run on PlayStation, so it's got a nice heritage story," PlayStation UK boss Fergal Gara said last week. "They're very rare and they're very special. If you put it into mass production you dilute that. So right now, that's it. I'm not aware of any plans to change that."
