If you haven't picked up a PSP system yet, the upcoming Invizimals Entertainment Pack may be the best bundle offered by Sony so far. Why? Unlike every other bundle , this includes an extra piece of hardware: the ever-elusive PSP camera. The "Vibrant Blue" color ain't too shabby, either. According to retail listings on Gamestop and Amazon, the $199.99 package includes:
PSP-3000 system (Vibrant Blue)
Invizimals UMD Game
Camera
1GB Memory Stick PRO Duo
Downloadable Movie PSN Voucher -- "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs"
AC Power Cord
AC Adaptor
Battery Pack
Both retailers have the bundle listed for October 12th release. If you own a PSP Go, you may want to consider picking up this bundle -- as of now, there's no confirmation if Invizimals will even work on the Go system.

Sony has handed PSP2 development kits to a number of key studios for a “significant launch window line-up”, Develop has heard.
It was claimed earlier in the year that developers were shown the device, and Sony has since sent out dev kits to numerous development studios – both third-party and in-house.
Multiple industry sources – who have over the last two months spoken to Develop on the matter – give the impression that Sony is spreading its PSP2 tech widely across the industry for a big impact at launch.
Develop’s sources were understandably unwilling to speak on the record about the new handheld, mentioning the device in passing, and declining to provide details on prototypes.
It was previously suggested that the handheld would be download-only, in line with the PSPgo ethos. However, PlayStation CEO Kazuo Hirai said his company’s future consoles would not eschew physical software.
So far one developer has spoken publicly of the PSP2.
Netherrealm Studios’ executive producer Shaun Himmerick said his studio “has a PSP2 in the house and we’re looking at the engine, like what can it support. Always a big thing for us is the performance. We’re running at 60 fps, what can we do and do we have to build all the art assets over.”
The release date for Sony’s PSP2 has been put to 2011 – which is almost certain to be the same year that Nintendo releases its next handheld, the 3DS.
3DS dev kits are widely in circulation.

Last week’s PlayStation 3 Firmware update had an impact on a limited number of peripherals that made them stop working. Sony of course issued a statement that it did not support unlicensed or pirate hardware. Well, apparently there were reports that some MadCatz PS3 add ons were also effected. Today, MadCatz issued a formal response and approach to the situation:
Over the last 24 hours, various media outlets have reported on issues gamers are experiencing after downloading and installing the new ‘3.50’ Firmware for their PlayStation 3 video game systems.
Mad Catz would like to take this opportunity to put gamers’ minds at ease. With the exception of a small quantity of controllers sold before 2008, we believe that all Mad Catz products will continue to function as they did prior to the 3.50 Firmware update including high profile products such as our range of Street Fighter IV™ FightSticks and Wireless FightPads; our range of controllers and accessories for Call of Duty®; our Cyborg F.L.Y. 9 Wireless FlightStick; our wired and wireless control pads; and our range of Rock Band™ accessories.
Any consumer who owns a Mad Catz product and is experiencing an issue, including an issue with the PlayStation 3 Firmware update should contact Mad Catz customer services. Providing the product is within warranty, Mad Catz will be happy to offer a suitable replacement.

News via http://streetskaterfu.blogspot.com/2...s-to-ylod.html
Due my reserach for a CFW I noticed an interesting string in a .RCO file (system_plugin.rco).
"msg_error_console_hot_pls_restart"
The system has become hot. Please turn off the system and wait a while before turning it on again.
So my thought is: Could the PS3 have prevented most of the YLOD cases, as there should be a function to shutdown the PS3 when it is too hot?
Seems so, but well - someone may want to make profit.

Amon_Re proposes a new version of PSFreedom / PSGroove a destination for owners of HTC Dream (G1) / Sapphire (Magic) 32B.
This modified version allows the launch of the independent operation of the ROM installed by using an image recovery. This version also contains a menu to launch PSGroove 1.1 (Peek & Poke syscalls) and changes of Hermes to do without a game in the drive.
A new menu named "Run PSFreedom" appear in the main menu. This menu will load then a submenu where you can select different payloads.
* No Blu-Ray emulation (Hermes): This is the way to start the backup without the presence of a Blu Ray in the drive.
* Homebrew only: it is the standard payload does not allow the launch of backup.
Blu-Ray * emulation: This is the standard payload for this time of the launch backups.
* Homebrew With only peek / poke: identical to "Homebrew only", but with the addition of system calls peek and poke. This function is based on the payload PSGroove 1.1.
* Blu-Ray With emulation peek / poke: same as "Blu-Ray emulation", but with the addition of system calls peek and poke. This function is based on the payload PSGroove 1.1.
* Test only shellcode: This is a test mode to create a LV1 Panic on your console (beeps, off the console and flashing red LED). This mode is primarily intended for the debug.
Use:
- Whenever you want to use the exploit on your PS3 (firmware 3.41 only), just reboot your phone in Recovery mode.

(Sony May be Unhappy if this news goes mainstream)
There were reports of people trying to use the SixAxis controller to Jailbreak the PS3. However, we stopped hearing about any progress on it and heard more about clones such as the PS3Key and P3Free and many others. Now, there seems to be proof of a PSGroove port on a PlayStation 3 SixAxis/DualShock 3 controller! Forum user hasuky from http://www.elotrolado.net/ stated that he'll be putting more info online tomorrow.
Translated via Google:
Starting by telling you, not to say bad words for those many people that maybe criticize the work of others without having done any research or evidence. I feel sorry for these people and for those who doubted in this project: I've spent a bit of my time and achieved what I wanted to do, not having a separate usb device, I wanted to run from the command Psgroove Sixsaxis and step be updatable via PC with just the controller and a USB cable for your bad luck has made the video I'm uploading it now takes a bit because my connection is shared. If you wait about 30 minutes more or less what you see, long time I was interested by the different consoles, as amended. I tell you to cool something that was the first to repair a bad nand extracted from a xbox 360, I have a couple of tutorials that many served him. And thanks to EOL and many people who make this forum what is now really. Tomorrow I will have to make the tutorial and make the respective tests.
It seems that not only do you use the controller to jailbreak your PS3 but you can continue to use it like a normal controller. However, you would need to connect the controller via USB cable first. This is like a shot to Sony's heart considering modders are using Sony's own product to jailbreak their system.
*UPDATE*
It seems that it will require some soldering in order for the PSGroove to be flashed onto the PS3 Controller...
*UPDATE #2* (9/26/10)
So after looking and reading a rough Google translation of the guide (which can be found HERE), it doesnt seem like its an actual port of the PSGroove onto the PS3 controller. Its more of installing a PIC inside the PS3 controller and wiring it to the USB port.

From a technological perspective, PlayStation Move offers much more than what Nintendo's original Wiimote, and even the subsequent MotionPlus add-on, can provide. However, critics point out that it's taken four years for Sony to develop and market a proper response to Nintendo. Considering Move-like technology was in development at Sony since the PS2 era, why has it taken the company so long to produce something? Shuhei Yoshida, president of Sony's Worldwide Studios, offered a reasonable explanation.
"We couldn't have made Move when we launched PS3," Yoshida told Wired. "We needed the time to be able to create the performance of Move with the target price that we started out with." (Microsoft has reportedly struggled with balancing technological edge with a reasonable price tag for Kinect, as well.) Still, all these years later, PlayStation Move controllers aren't exactly cheap, and Sony continues to been criticized for being late to the game. Yoshida had his response to that, though: "A 2010 system is what we are launching in 2010. In that sense, I don't think we are late at all."
Of course, with sales of Wii hardware and software on the decline, even Sony has to wonder: Has the motion control fad lost its momentum? It'll be interesting to see how Move (and Kinect) answer that question in the months to come.

Peripheral manufacturer Mad Catz has assured users that the vast majority of its PlayStation 3 controllers continue to function after Sony's recent 3.50 firmware update.
The controversial update reportedly shut out a number of third party peripherals, including some Mad Catz add-ons. The company has just issued a statement detailing the extent of the problem.
"With the exception of a small quantity of controllers sold before 2008, we believe that all Mad Catz products will continue to function as they did prior to the 3.50 Firmware update including high profile products such as our range of Street Fighter IV FightSticks and Wireless FightPads; our range of controllers and accessories for Call of Duty; our Cyborg F.L.Y. 9 Wireless FlightStick; our wired and wireless control pads; and our range of Rock Band accessories."
The controllers that no longer work are the 2008 wireless PS3 GamePad, the 2008 wired PS3 GamePad and the PS3 wireless MicroCon.
Prior to issuing the 3.50 firmware update, Sony had warned, "SCEA does not support continued functionality of counterfeit or unlicensed controllers in system software updates and these devices may cease to function in the future because of system software updates."
If you are experiencing a problem with any of its controllers, Mad Catz has advised getting in touch with its customer services department to organise a replacement.
