After fork PSGroove to launch . pkg from a USB key , with a recurrence AerialX project named Kammy .
Kammy is a system for loading patches on L2 ( PS3 Game OS ) from a third party application via PSGroove or another implementation of the exploit to use syscalls Peek & Poke ( PSGroove 1.1 by example) . Kammy based system patch Wii games made by Treek .
Compilation:
Kammy Compiling gcc compiler toolchain requires 3 .
• gcc : gcc presence of normal to create the application raw2h .
• ppu - gcc - LV2 : used to compile the loader, available "only " at Sony.
• ppu - gcc , ppu -binutils : gcc version to compile 64bit PowerPC instructions to create patches . Linux packages can be found on BSC.es. ( Note : ppu -gcc - LL2 could possibly suffice but this could not be tested)
• xxd : to create binary patch files .
Once these dependencies installed , you can compile Kammy simply by going to the directory of the loader and running the commands:
make clean
make
Use
Kammy should be used with a payload supporting poke / peek . PSGroove 1.1 and its forks provide this support. To apply a patch Kammy , an application loader type to be launched on the PS3. This is normally done from the XMB via a . pkg installed or from a USB device if you use the fork made by AerialX .
Personalization:
Kammy is composed of two main components :
• L2 : This folder contains the patches to create LV2 . You can see the patch main Kammy for example. It belongs to the patch to apply the necessary changes to LL2 .
• libkammy : it is the base library manager loading patches Kammy .
The file "loader "contains an example of the use of Kammy to download a patch from the folder LV2 .
Notes : internally , Kammy goes through syscalls 8 and 9, so do not try to launch a payload using the same syscalls .
You can find sources on Kammy http://github.com/AerialX/Kammy

Inaudax proposes a new utility that allows you to enter dates on your trophies unlocked to allow for proper synchronization of the dates and limiting the ability to detect changes .
you should have . NET Framework 3.5 installed on your Windows PC.
Use :
- Enter a date and time consistent, for example :
2009 20 02 02 49 35
The application will then generate a hex code .
- Open your TROPUSR.DAT with a hex editor ( HxD example ) and copy the code generated in the right place, for example (on XX XX ... ) :
0x21e0 : 00 00 00 1C 00 00 00 01 00 01 10 00 00 00 00 00
0x21f0 : 00 XX XX XX XX XX XX XX XX XX 00 XX XX XX XX XX
1c corresponds to the ID of the trophy.
- Save everything and overwrite the old TROPUSR.DAT via FTP .
- Run the game and drive small cars.
Note: Each trophy has two timers , so it is recommended to use two different dates for the two timers .

September 21st, 2010, 21:41 Posted By: wraggster
Sony and Microsoft may be going head to head this holiday with motion-based gaming peripherals, but SCE Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida doesn't see Microsoft's massive Kinect ad campaign as a problem for PlayStation's Move -- in fact, Sony quite likes the free attention it's getting as a result. Yoshida recently admitted as much to GamesIndustry.biz, saying, "I've always felt like we were lucky that Microsoft made such a big deal with Project Natal. In a broader sense, we are categorized as 'motion gaming' -- if we were just doing Move, we wouldn't have had as much coverage and attention from media and consumers."
Also, despite the fact that Sony has been touting 3D functionality in lots of upcoming games -- even updating older releases with the technology -- Yoshida doesn't necessarily believe we'll be seeing 3DTV-exclusive titles anytime soon. "Never say never -- but I don't think that makes sense. Stereoscopic 3D isn't adding something completely different, it's just making it a bit more natural for users to see 3D images. We just don't have to think about making games exclusive to 3DTV," he said.
The interview also covers the turbulent trip of the hand-carried PlayStation Move prototype by Richard Marx, not to mention the changes in Sony's structure over the past few years as various major executives have played musical chairs.

That "major update" to PlayTV that Sony's promised since April: well, it's going to cost you - even if you subscribe to PlayStation Plus.
"The guys at Cambridge put a great deal of effort into this update and, unlike the previous free updates, we will be charging a reasonable amount for the new features," James Thorpe, PSN product manager, wrote on the European PlayStation blog.
"[PlayStation] Plus members are very important to us and we are looking into providing you guys extra value for PlayTV. Will keep you posted on this.
"If you are not keen on the new features then you do not have to buy the update, therefore there is no reason not to recommend this to your friend, we are not charging people to watch TV."
The update, due later in the year, adds the ability to text-chat with friends while watching live TV. There's also a new guide so you can plan your recordings seven days in advance; a Series Link feature to earmark all episodes of a series for recording; the ability to send Facebook recommendations; and Community Favourites, which lets you see what your friends are watching. Giggle.
PlayTV is an external device for PlayStation 3 that allows you to watch and record free-to-air digital TV on PS3. PlayTV carries an RRP of £70, although most retailers offer significant discounts.

Another week, another well-detailed tear down from the kids at iFixit. Blessed with an eight out of ten on the repairability index, the PlayStation Move was said to be one of the easiest devices yet to break down and reassemble, so there's a good chance that any novice DIYer with a steady hand and a Phillips screwdriver could accomplish what's shown in the link below. No huge surprises were found once the PCB's clothing was removed, but we were told that the Move controller contains a great many components that are found in today's modern smartphones: a processor, accelerometer, gyroscope, Bluetooth transmitter, vibrating motor, and even a MEMS compass. The sphere at the top can flash any color thanks to the included LEDs, and the integrated Li-ion battery can be disconnected (and thus, replaced) from the device without any soldering. Hit the source for the nitty-gritty, and hop on past the break for the highlights. Oh, and as a reminder, you can grab your own Move starting today if you call North America home.

It's been just over a month since we broke the news that Sony's working on an Android 3.0-based gaming phone with PlayStation branding, and a new job posting seems to indicate that progress is being made -- the PlayStation division is looking for a senior server engineer in London with "experience in mobile development, specifically Android." The rest of the listing sounds like this person will be involved in running an online game service, which certainly makes sense; Sony would do well to counter Xbox Live on Windows Phone 7 and Apple's Game Center with PSN on their own device. Either that, or this just means nothing -- but you know us, we're eternal optimists.

The focus of the PSP is to begin shifting towards a younger audience, Sony America's marketing mouthpiece Peter Dille has said. By doing so, the handheld will equip Sony with "a very big tent" of PlayStation entertainment that doesn't rely on one product "like our competitors".
"There will be [a focus on the younger audience], and that's part and parcel with the strategy as you go longer into the lifecycle," Dille told thealistdaily. "With quality game experiences for $9.99, we're talking in a way that none of our competitors can on all of our platforms.
"On the PS3, the PlayStation Move lets us talk to more casual gamers and at the same time we're introducing 3D games. On the PSP, we're pitching something that appeals to a younger audience, and we're also putting out something that appeals to core gamers with titles like Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker and Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep.
"If you look at what Sony WWS does, we have titles ranging from Killzone to EyePet. PlayStation is a very big tent," he added, "and we've never been reliant on one product genre like one of our competitors and it's helped us sell 377 million PlayStation hardware products and two billion software products in 15 years."
Whether the supposed-to-be-secret PSP2 will seek a younger audience remains to be seen. So far we've heard that Sony's new handheld will perform "like iPhone on steroids" and feature touch-screen controls on the reverse of the device.

September 20th, 2010, 18:41 Posted By: wraggster
Sony's internal software developers will be getting much more input into the design of future PlayStation hardware, according to Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida.
Including games developers in the hardware design process is a significant change from the creation and launch of the PlayStation 3, when Sony Computer Entertainment was overseen by 'father of PlayStation' Ken Kuturagi, working with an enclosed team in Japan.
But since Kuturagi's retirement, Kaz Hirai - a more software-focused executive - has created a more inclusive business at SCE, pulling Japan and the full Worldwide Studios teams closer together.
"That has made a huge, huge day to day difference, and a month-to-month and year-to-year difference," said WWS president Shuhei Yoshida, in an exclusive interview published today.
"Actually, I'd say that Move was the first platform project that, from day one, from the very conceptual stage, had Worldwide Studios involved. WWS was involved before SCE's hardware guys were involved. It was between Richard Marks, the SCEA R&D group and Worldwide Studios teams - they started looking into next-gen motion gaming, and tried every different kind of technology, including 3D cameras and other motion capture technologies like magnetics or ultrasound," he detailed.
"That's a totally, totally different approach from the days when Ken was running the company. As soon as Kaz took over Ken's position, Kaz told the people in Japan that from now on, they had to talk to Worldwide Studios about anything about the platform, and get our feedback on any decisions. I thought, "wow"!"
Both the PlayStation 2 and the PlayStation 3 were criticised for being difficult hardware to get to grips with, but Yoshida said that games developers will have much more input on the tools and operating system for the next PlayStation console.
"Not only do we give them input, but Worldwide Studios' tech teams are part of the platform OS and tools development. That's a completely new world as well.
"Our central tech groups, the WWS tech groups, have been making game engines or tools for the studios in the group - but now they are part of the tools of development and the low-level middleware library development. That means the future platform, the PlayStation platform tools and OS... At least part of those will actually be developed by game developers."
Yoshida himself has been instrumental in bringing the company together under Hirai's vision, enabling the teams to collaborate closely where before there was no structure to communicate.
"I had never been that kind of process. People understood Kaz' vision, but they didn't know what to do, or who to talk to," said Yoshida. "They had set milestones in terms of developing hardware. I felt like I could uniquely go into that group of engineers in Japan and suggest a new process - interject the right kind of software teams to the right kind of hardware issues that need solutions.
"I felt that, because they didn't have to talk to us when they were making hardware decisions previously, they might feel like the process took too long if they had to go through additional steps. I was afraid that they might not like it. But what's really exciting, for me, is that I have found that they really, really embraced the relationship. They always wanted to make hardware that great games could be made for - but they didn't know who to talk to. They were making decisions with very limited insight from the software side, regarding what kind of hardware features or tools would make game developers happy."
This new working culture is proving successful for Sony, with hardware and software teams able to give feedback to each other at the prototype stage and better understand each other's needs.
"Not only were we able to say, yes, this feature is good, or this other feature won't be necessary - we could show examples, the reasons why some features are more important than others," added Yoshida. "We could use our game concepts, our prototypes, and show them the reasons.
"Then it becomes really clear in their minds - they understood that they had to make Move's response time as good as Dual Shock, in order to make it adaptable to all kinds of games. That kind of technical decision can now be made with direct insight from gaming teams. The engineers say that they're so glad to hear these things - they can't think of any other way of making new hardware, now."
