The developer Samy releases his new homebrew game Runner Lord inspired (just say that this is a remake if not a clone) to Lode Runner, a classic of early 80's. The goal is to collect as many cubes colored red without being touched by men, otherwise game over. The gameplay is very simple, but not the game is easy.
The player will have 19 levels of game plus a level editor to create your own scenarios of where and why not share them. All made in LUA language.

The work 6.20 HEN (TN) is enhanced by a further episode. In this episode, our developer (or to use a neologism "deveroe) Total_Noob, as is often the best superheroes, is facing criticism from the people. But to quote Uncle Ben in the movie Spiderman, "With great power comes great responsibility" * and continued undaunted in the creation of his masterpiece, although someone has pointed out as a liar. The criticism stems from what has been learned with the previous news, where there has been talk of an alleged dell'HEN porting from 6.20 to 6.31 with the consequent abandonment of the project. Never was most unfortunate news for both as was shown by both the limited knowledge Total_Noob dell'anglosassone idiom by the developer, which makes it difficult to clearly express their ideas. But the issue seems resolved.
TN is currently devoting exclusively to the 6.20 dell'HEN waiting to be made about the future, and it is working really well, making it more of a hybrid between a Homebrew Enabler and a custom firmware. The last published list of improvements is a manifestation. Among the powers of her child to see the appearance of the battery charging via USB, the implementation of the Fake Region, the ability to set the CPU speed and many other small but important features and improvements.
Meanwhile, elsewhere, one of his most powerful allies, the coder Wololo constant vigilance on the activities of TN defending a drawn sword, and adds the welcome news that the developer dridri continues in the development of a new ISOLoader. But the time is not ripe yet to know if it can be easily adapted to the new HEN.
The plans for the Liberation of the PSP and we shall look forward to an exciting new episode.
Changelog:
Quote:
Changelog 7/11/10:
- Reversed systemctrl all exports
- Added USB battery charging
- Added ability to watch 480x272 video avc
- Added feature to skip gameboot
- Added possibilty to hide and PIC0.PNG PIC1.PNG
- Fixed issue with VLF Some homebrews
- Added possibilty to Adjust CPU speed
- Added fake region feature
- Added Network TN update
- Resolved all important NIDS
- Encreased homebrew compatibilty
- Compressed rebootex
We thank you for reporting shadow_95
* The original phrase is: With Great Powers Comes Great Responsibility. It is not ruled by the uncle of Peter, but appears simply to close the first issue of Spiderman. Later, however, be attributed to Uncle Ben.

Ninja Gaiden 3 looks set to completely reboot the franchise, according to Team Ninja boss Yousuke Hayashi.
Speaking in an interview with Japanese mag Famitsu, kindly translated by Andriasang, Hayashi said, "We're developing it with the idea of restarting at the beginning, saying 'We'd like to make the action game that's most interesting for the current era.'
"With this meaning, it's going to be a game that's not bound by the past more than necessary. Of course, we will be valuing the past, but in a good meaning we'd like to make it into a game that's not tied down by the past."
Hayashi also offered a little cryptic commentary on the reveal image shown at Tokyo Game Show earlier this year, posted below.
"He seems to be doing something with his right hand. Also, there's something not normal about this hand. It's covered in blood, but there's something unnatural regarding the blood."
Our guess? Looks like he's been picking his nose with his samurai sword. That'll learn him.
Elsewhere in the interview, the Team Ninja boss also revealed that the mysterious Dead or Alive: Code Cronus project had been axed. Announced way back in 2005 by Hayashi's predecessor Tomonobu Itagaki, it has been "officially canceled". Apparently "it was just at the framework level."

CTA Digital continues its domination of all PlayStation Move accessories with the release of the PlayStation Move Racing Wheel with stand. As you can see above, the wheel comes with a slot across the center to store a Move wand, thus making you feel as if you're using a plastic wheel rather than one, you know, made out of air.
We kid, actually -- the grip can instead hold a DualShock 3 (with SIXAXIS!) controller, so if you want to use it for tilt steering rather than motion control, you can do that as well. The wheel also detaches from the stand if you'd rather just hold it by itself. And we don't know how cheap it is yet, since there's no MSRP listed. For more information (and a chuckle at the expense of some poor commercial actors -- "COOLER!"), head after the break for a promotional video.

Gamers queuing up to buy Call of Duty: Black Ops on Monday will be able to go hands-on with the game – in 3D.
The event will take place at the retailer’s Oxford Street store in London, and the title will be playable on 55 inch Samsung LED 3D TV

This is a fantastic coup for us and we cannot wait to see how COD fans react to it.

Bigpoint CEO Heiko Hubert warned that developers of traditional handheld games face a crisis as iPhones and Android devices tempt away their audience.
In his keynote speech at London Games Conference last night, Hubertz warned against relying on solely one platform to build a games business - especially those platforms with minimal online connectivity.
"All the developers making games for the Nintendo DS and PSP are in trouble," he said.
"No one will want to buy games on them because they are playing on smartphones or iPad."
That said, despite the rise of mobile games, Heiko warned that app stores are cut-throat to operate in. According to his calculations, "each game on average on the App Store only makes $5k".

The much discussed 'intro module' of the PS3 version of Mass Effect 2 wil include an interactive comic - which tells the story of the first game and allows players to make vital choices.
That's according to a translation of an interview with BioWare dev Casey Hudson in German mag Play3 - which is featured on the BioWare forums.
It's all in German, but has apparrently been posted by BioWare community rep Nathalie Edelmann. Translated into English, her post reveals:
Casey Hudson [told] the print edition of Play3 that Mass Effect 2 PS3 will include:
* The interactive comic (from?) Dark Horse informs the player about the back story and offers various choices.
* The three previously released DLC "Kasumi: Stolen Memories", "Overlord" and "hiding the Shadow Broker".
* An included code will allow access to all content published to date on the Cerebus Network.
* A new mission, which offers about six hours of play time.
Meanwhile, BioWare boss Greg Zeschuk appears to be quoted saying:
"The most important thing is that the PlayStation 3 is based on a completely different architecture. Visually it can come to some changes. In particular, the storage and distribution of the graphics chip differ dramatically. We will not again unleash the discussion, which has the two platforms for more power, since we can achieve our objectives on both platforms.
"If you develop games that you want to make accessible the broadest possible mass. And exactly this opportunity is offered to us. I think the game will feel a bit different on the PS3. Just by the controller, it will play differently."
Sounds good to us if true. We'll get in touch with BioWare for confirmation.
Mass Effect 2 PS3 is due for release in January next year.

When Hideo Kojima releases a Metal Gear Solid game, Konami's bank balance explodes. That didn't happen with PSP game Peace Walker, but Konami takes solace in the fact it was at least "well received by hardcore Metal Gear fans".
Was it? Eurogamer's Oli Welsh awarded the stealth game 8/10.
Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker commands an enviable 89 per cent on Metacritic.
Sales weren't awful, mind you: Metal Gear notched up 1.47 million between April and the end of September. Not specifically for Peace Walker - Konami didn't name names - but as there were no other MGS games released during those six months, such an assumption is logical.
Peace Walker sales, Konami did say, "progressed favourably".
Meanwhile, in the US, sales of DanceDanceRevolution "progressed steadily". That was partly because the game, which supports PlayStation Move, is part of a campaign to "fight obesity". Obviously gamers are the fattest.
"Steady" was also a word used to describe sales of the the Japanese World Cup PES game. Amusingly, Konami referred to the global competition not by its name but as "once-every-four-years festivities that excite soccer fans worldwide". Perhaps it doesn't have licensing rights. Oh yes he did.
Konami was far more enthusiastic about LovePlusPlus, its "romance communication game". This had record first week sales and a "highly positive" response from Japanese punters. Konami describes LovePlus as a "social phenomenon" in Japan - there's even a festival there for it. Taking that into account, the existence of a 3DS Project LovePlus game shouldn't surprise.
Other performers of note - but for Japan only - were Jikkyo Pawafuru Puroyakyu (on PS3 for the first time); Puroyakyu Spirits 2010; "academy romance simulation game for women" Tokimeki Memorial Girl's Side 3rd Story; Fairy Tail Portable Guild and Busou Shinki Battle Masters.
In total, Konami sold 10.05 million units between the start of April and end of September. Japan snapped up 4.34 million of those, Europe 3.42 million, the US 2.18 million and Asia 120,000.
Of those 10.5 million sales, 3.44 million were for football/soccer games, 3.14 million for "Other" (a large amount not specified), 1.47 million for Metal Gear games, 740,000 for baseball games, 670 for animated television games and 590,000 for music games.
The money made from all those game sales was $327 million - roughly half of the Digital Entertainment sector of Konami Corporation.
More importantly, those numbers don't involve new games Castlevania: Lords of Shadow or PES 2011, as both were released on 8th October in Europe.
Konami also has Glee TV show spin-off Karaoke Revolution Glee poised as well as streetwise karaoke game Def Jam Rapstar.
As mentioned, Digital Entertainment (videogames, amusements, card games, online) is just one limb of the Konami company body. Let's call it a leg; a leg worth $655 million to Konami in the last six months. The other leg holding Konami up is Health & Fitness (worth $541 million). The wobbly arms are Gaming & System ($114 million) and Other & Eliminations ($117 million).

Digital Foundry has taken its mathematical approach to examining the deep inner workings of games to whole new heights with is recent lag analysis of the Killzone 3 multiplayer beta. Using a special controller (designed by modder extraordinaire Ben Heck), the DF team measured the exact amount of time that passed between pressing R1 and the in-game gun actually firing a bullet: 116ms. According to the blog, that's about 33ms shorter than the lag present in Killzone 2, which apparently makes a world of difference in twitchy shooters of this ilk.
Check out a video of the group's study, as well as a few other odds and ends about the technical side of the beta, over on Eurogamer.

This is not the first KIRF PSP Phone we've seen, but recent news of the actual, long-awaited device (you heard it here first, folks!) makes the Unmei Q5's appearance in the stalls of Shenzhen all the more timely. What will your hard earned yuan will get you? How about a 3.5-inch touchscreen, front and rear cameras, dual SIM card slots, an NES emulator, 3.5mm audio jack, and a mini-USB port -- all crammed into the shell of a PSP Go? Available in black or white, this bad boy has been spotted for 399 CNY, or about $60. We just hope the real handset looks this good!

GameStop believes that discovering new games and digital content on the home consoles is just as hard as finding entertainment on Apple's notoriously difficult to navigate App Store.
Speaking at the London Games Conference last night, Chris Petrovic, head of the retailers digital business, said that GameStop wants to help market and sell digital games by smaller developers just as much as it does triple-A console and PC games.
"One of the key points that can't be underestimated is the increasing challenge of discovery," he said. "If you start off with presumptions on the percentage of consoles that are connected, are they as high as everybody would want them to be? No. The percentage of people that have purchased for their console games downloadable content for XBLA or PSN games is very low. It's barely above ten per cent.
"Discovery, much like in the Apple App Store, is as bad - if not worse - in the console environment because you've got such a limited form factor to work with.
"Somebody like us, where we have users coming in wanting to buy the disc, we can scan that disc and tell them the five or ten pieces of add-on content available. Or even better, we can work with publishers who are producing PSN or XBLA games and have a section in our store to highlight those - that's a win for everybody.
"It's helps discovery, it helps with monetisation at the point of purchase and consumers are getting what they want when they want it. The proliferation of digital will just lead to challenges in the marketing side," he added.
GameStop has more influence with consumers, said Petrovic, and more marketing opportunities than developers, who struggle to advertise their product in a crowded market.
"We've had the anecdotes up and down from XBLA and PSN developers who get that sacred shelf space of promotion, that front button, and their revenue goes through the roof for one or two weeks that they're in rotation, but as soon as they get off that it plummets.
"They don't have the wherewithal because they're really small shops, to be able to put marketing dollars towards many other channels.
"That's opened our eyes to think about creative ways to be that marketing partner apart from just marketing triple-A titles. To be able to serve well that long tail of game developers that have just as good quality games but don't have $50 million to spend on marketing. And coming up with creative ways to leverage our relationship with the consumer and our physical space to be able to give prominence to those games,"said Petrovic.

CodeZombie has released the first 100% legal PS3 homebrew. This is the first PS3 homebrew game to use no copyrighted code. The game was coded from the ground up, entirely with the PSL1GHT SDK. Here is what CodeZombie had to say about his release:
Pongus is a simple pong clone, demonstrating the basic features of the PSL1GHT SDK.
Right now, it’s in a playable state, with enemy AI, collision detection, Speed advancement and simple controls.
I am aware that there is already a much better pong clone available for the ps3, but that package contains leaked sony code, and is illegal to distribute.
This package is the opposite, written completely with the Open PSL1GHT SDK. No Sony code was used to write this game, and thus, is able to be freely distributed, source and all.
~CodeZombie
We have also attached the files for your convenience.

Sony has offered a glimpse at an enormous Atlantis stage that was cut out of God of War II.
In 2005 senior level designer Jonathan Hawkins was given the task of creating a stage set in the mythical submerged city for the PlayStation 2 sequel but the content ended up being cut due to "some high-level changes".
The platform holder posted design concepts for the level and a clip of Hawkins talking through his work, which you can see below, on its PlayStation blog.
You can remind yourself of what the final cut of the game ended up looking like by checking out the excellent God of War Collection, recently released on the PlayStation Store.
Or if that's old hat, there's always the good-but-not-great God of War: Ghost of Sparta, which launches on PSP this week.

Sad, dreary day at your place? Fret not, as the Boob Tube is just about to get even better. Hulu has just revealed a movement to get Hulu Plus stocked with more content and onto more devices, STAT. Making sure those words aren't empty, we're learning that all 2010 Sony BRAVIA HDTVs will today have access to the subscription programming service, with it bleeding over to Sony's various Blu-ray players, home theater systems, network media players and even the Dash -- yeah, that Dash -- in due time. In related news, Hulu will be soon yanking the invite requirement to get Hulu Plus on the PlayStation 3, and as of next week, any ole PlayStation Network member (as opposed to PlayStation Plus, as it stands today) will be able to grab it. 'Course, even those freeloaders will be forced to pony up $9.99 per month if they're interested in using it, but hey, it's not like Raising Hope is financed with pixie dust, right?
