Vexed is a puzzle game in which your goal is to move similar blocks together, which causes them to disappear.
Block can be moved to the left or to the right.
When no block in under the current block, the block falls down.
Once all the blocks are gone, you've solved the level and you're presented with a new level to solve.
Vexed was created by James McCombe (Vexed at SourceForge.net) for the Palm OS.

News from PSP3d
Sharko and Static's DreamWare team has just released a simple tool for the PSP which allows you to switch between eMenu and eLoader on the fly, without having to use two different memory sticks. Although they are basically the same thing, and some may find it to defeat the purpose, as the future, final eMenu will be included with the next version of eLoader, it's still cool if you're having any problems with eMenu (since it's still in RC BETA), or if you just feel like going back to the standard loader GUI from time to time. This is just a BETA though, and actual loading of EBOOTs still has some issues, be sharko plans to fix that in the next release.

Moonlight posted this new release and info:
This is a simple tool to record audio of games or a predefined homebrew at PSP/GAME/HOMEBREW.
It works by hooking the data that is being sent to the psp audio channels.
Usage is very simple. Press X to start the UMD game, or O to start the homebrew.
During the game/homebrew, press L+R+O to start capture of audio, and press L+R+square to stop it.
Audio is saved under PSP/MUSIC/ in WAV-PCM format (a minute of sound in this format is about 10 MB, so be careful with your memstick space).
Problems:
- While you are recording, the sound that you are currently listening lags. Don't worry, the sound that is being written to the file will be better.
- Some times, 44 bytes files are written because tha application/game reserve an audio channel but then they don't use it. Those are empty wav files, delete them.
- Also, some times games/homebrew output silence to some channels, so you'll end with some wav files that are fully silence.
- Some games don't work with it, i don't know why.

April 21st, 2006, 01:34 Posted By: wraggster
News from Japan Chronicles
Today’s date has been mentioned around the web as the day when GPS-related firmware and other stuff would be released. Most of that probably originated by someone spotting ads about today’s software release: Minna no chizu (Everyone’s map). That software is indeed available from today, but there is no new firmware, and no mention of any GPS support yet. With that cleared out, let’s see what we’ve got.
Overview
For sale from April 20, Minna no Chizu contains maps of Japan, put together by map data provider Zenrin. For comparison, this is the data provider used by Google Maps for Japan, which lets us compare things easily later on.
It lists for 3,990 yen ($34) and at that price it’s a rather nice deal if you need a map for those trips around Japan. Once again, there is no GPS support, so if you get lost, you’re out of luck.
Ok, let’s pop the disc in and have a look. The first thing you’ll notice is that firmware version 2.60 is required, so if you don’t have it you’ll have to start by using the included update.
The maps
As mentioned before, all of Japan (including Okinawa etc) is included.
Maps can be viewed at zoom levels 0 to 7. At level 7, 1 cm on screen equals 3 km, at level 0 1 cm equals 25 m. Check next page for screenshots of these levels.
However, maximum detail is not available for all of the country, outside major metropolitan areas (such as my city of 300,000…) only goes to zoom level 3. At that level 1 cm on screen represents 100 m, and you will see most city streets. A bit of a letdown, but still useable.
For people outside Japan who might be interested in this, you’ll have to be aware of the fact that there is no text at all in the roman alphabet. All city names and neighborhood names are written in kanji, only railway station names are written in hiragana.
Controls
Once in map-viewing mode, the controls are fairly simple. Square zooms in, triangle zooms out. The L and R buttons are used to rotate the map, useful to make the map face the same way as walking.
Finding places
To find an address you’re looking for, the method is step based, you start from selecting prefecture, then city, then city ward and finally house number. A little tedious, but it works well.
The other option is to search by railway station name, which is really useful in a country like Japan where property value is largeley determined by how far the nearest railway station is.
You can also bookmark places on you own and jump directly to those.
Add-on packages
You will be able to purchase add-on data with more information on points of interest, restaurants etc. More on this later today in another update.

New game from QuinnSoft
Heres the details:
So Do We Have a Deal or What is a game that plays just like on the NBC game show Deal or No Deal. The game works as follows:
There are 26 briefcases, each of which containing a value of money ranging from one cent to one million dollars. When you start the game, you pick a briefcase. You then must choose six briefcases to open. Based on the cases you have opened, the banker will offer you an amount of money for your case. You may then choose to accept his offer (Deal) or reject it (No Deal). If you choose No Deal, you then have to open five cases, after which you will get another offer. The number of cases to open decreases all the way to one, at which point you will get an offer after each case you open. If you decide to go all the way, you will win the amount in your case.
Changelog:
0.11: Made slight modifications to the offer-calculating code.

Another shot in the arm for aging market leader as predicted price-drop becomes official
The price of the PlayStation 2 has been officially cut to $129.99 by Sony Computer Entertainment America, down from $149.99, in a move designed to further boost sales of the market leading console as the hype builds for its successor.
The price cut was predicted last week by analyst Colin Sebastian of Lazard Capital, who said at the time that the cut was "necessary not only to drive demand at the end of a console cycle, but also to bring the current-generation consoles within reach of more value-oriented customers."
Although Sony continues to be comfortably the market leader in North America - US sales of the PS2 are still higher, month on month, than any of its rivals, and it now has an installed base of over 33 million units in the region - sales of the PS2 have slowed significantly in the last year.
March sales of the console were down by 45 per cent year on year, a position which Sony will undoubtedly hope to remedy to some extent with this price cut - which will be supported by a major advertising campaign both in print and online, and merchandising support in stores.
"While we continue to innovate and design groundbreaking new products, we remain dedicated to our long-term vision for the PlayStation 2 platform," explained SCEA boss Kaz Hirai in a statement about the price cut.
His comments are especially relevant in light of the high volume of information being released about PlayStation 3 at present, with the next-gen console expected to be Sony's major focus at the E3 trade show next month in Los Angeles.
However, the firm is definitely keen to continue to show its commitment to the PS2 - and one of its key titles at the show, God of War 2, is a PlayStation 2 exclusive title which isn't expected to arrive at retail for around nine months.

Article from Lik Sang:
While KOF 95, 96 and 97 were received their home ports for the first PlayStation, the 2D power of the Saturn with the memory expansion cartridge showed PSX owners what they were missing. This week though, The King of Fighters Orochi Collection brings completely arcade perfect editions to your PS2, and what's more, includes online play too! First up KOF 95 had 25 fighters to choose from, expanded the air juggling system and counter attacks of the first title, and let you choose the members of your team. Then KOF 96 came in and was regarded by many as the pinnacle of the series, amongst other changes, adding a roll in and out system and upping the roaster to 27.
Then lastly KOF 97 boasts some 35 characters, gives you the option to toss out the old charge bar and use the Advance Gauge where the more moves you pull off the faster your bar fills, and includes a slew of other improvements. Slamming three fantastic 2D brawlers onto one disc, all arcade perfect and with online play, the Orochi Collection is one not to miss this week. Later on the 27th of this month too, there's King of Fighters Maximum Impact 2 to dig into, followed later this year by The King of Fighters XI on June 22nd.

News via Eurogamer
atchet & Clank appears to be on its way to PlayStation Portable - and in a fairly advanced state already.
The news comes courtesy of a product page on EBGames.com - not always a reliable guide, but in this case a pretty rounded collection of details including some screenshots.
According to the page, Ratchet & Clank's first PSP outing sees the platforming duo discover the forgotten race of Technomites while on holiday, only to realise the little basts are bent on world domination. Playing as both Ratchet and Clank, you'll take them on, with a Shrink Ray and a customisable armour system amongst other things. The game looks to be upholding the series' usual mixture of platforming and gunnery.
There's also talk of downloadable multiplayer missions, which suggests some sort of wireless multiplayer mode - and there's specific talk of Wi-Fi item-trading.
Sony hasn't said anything about Ratchet & Clank on PSP yet - and the name's strictly a placeholder - but don't be too surprised if it turns up amongst the ranks at E3. Much as R&C's pal from over the tracks, Daxter, did during last year's show. Daxter of course went on to be one of the PSP's most impressive outings to date - let's hope the same's true with R&C.
EBGames suggests Ratchet & Clank is due out on PSP next March.

New in stock accessory from Divineo China heres the details:
The H2O mod is the newest addition to the SubZero family. It carries all the features of the SubZero 2 with a reduced wire count (no TR wire needed for autoboot) AND it has the SubZero fix psTwo protection ONBOARD. By adding J and K wires your psTwo will need no other fix, just the H2O modchip inside.
The pcbs are very stylish, with their colour and 24 carat gold pads and via protection. But that is not all, the producer went all out and added a special 2
layer print to achieve a blue/gray/green effect. Not that it is needed for the operation of the chip, but quality needs to be stressed in all fields.

THQ has officially announced Frontlines: Fuel of War, the first-person shooter that we brought you first word on yesterday.
In development at THQ's Kaos Studios and targeting PC, Xbox 360 and PS3, the game's described as an "infantry- and vehicle-based FPS... featuring advanced next-gen weaponry in a desperate, near future setting where controlling the planet's depleting fossil resources determines the ultimate fate of civilization." You can take a breath now.
Superpowers the Western Coalition (the US and Europe) and the Red Star Alliance (Russia and China) are engaging in a globe-spanning war for oil, according to the scenario. No mention of multiplayer is made in the official announcement, but it's stated that the game's single-player campaign "will focus on this powerful storyline as players execute missions focused on non-linear gameplay, moving their frontline through enemy held territory."
Frank DeLise, general manager, Kaos Studios, has added: "Frontlines: Fuel of War will take players to the next generation of combat. The game focuses on the cutting edge in military technology that will allow players to experience the highly-charged frontlines of tomorrow, today. Through intense, nail biting, non-linear single- or multi-player campaigns, players will be able to use more than 60 vehicles and advanced weaponry, from next-generation assault tanks to experimental RC drones."
Frontlines: Fuel of War is currently pencilled in for an autumn 2007 release.

News from CVG
In a bit of a 'whoops-a-daisy' moment, it appears that EBGames.com has accidentally let slip confirmation of a new SOCOM titles headed to PS2 and PSP.
According to reports, the e-tailer published two product pages yesterday unveiling SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Combined Assault on PS2 and SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo 2 on PSP, but then quickly pulled the pages down - however, not before they were spotted by eagle-eyed special forces operatives.
PS2 SOCOM game Combined Assault was listed for a November 2006 release, with EBGames' product page carrying a brief description of the title, saying: "Battle through an intense Area of Operation with multiple and diverse missions spawning within this deadly region". It added that the sequel features new vehicles and weapons for single-player and co-op modes, with one of the co-op modes allowing four people to fight their way through the single-player campaign.
PSP sequel Fireteam Bravo 2, meanwhile - and according to EBGames' product page - is due later this year and features a new single-player campaign, 10 new multiplayer maps (playable online and on local wireless) new weapon types and new terrain and enemies.
Mention was additionally made on the Combined Assault product page of connectivity between the two SOCOM games - the PS2 title boasting "more robust Crosstalk with SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo 2, including a single story arc, and all new action events and unlockables."
As yet, there's no confirmation from Sony on either of the SOCOM titles appearing on EBGames, but it's the general consensus that both games are very much in existence. If that's the case, then it's more than likely we'll hear official word at this year's E3 in May.
