BlackPhoenix has released a new Pool Game for the PSP, heres the details:
<blockquote>I've finally got there, a proper public beta release!!
This game has been specially ported for the PSP, it has had at least 20 beta testers (including members of my family).. and they all gave me their own opinion on what would improve the gameplay/graphics/sound & general feel.. some ideas I put in and some I thought would be too much for a first release, but the ammo is there for the next release already.. I just need to lock myself away for another month  by the way, I am going to release the source code with the next release.. that gives me time to tidy up my code and remove any ambiguous bits.
## Special Thanks ##
go to Gerrit Jahan, for the original PC game & physics engine. Also Deanaw22 for the amazing graphics, dude I'll be calling upon you again in the near future :icon_wink & pauldude550/TPTaylor (changed his name on the forum recently) for his improvement and ideas for sound effects and music. Oh and last but not least my beta testers (listed in the README.PSP), it seriously wouldn't be as good as it is without you guys!
## New Feature ##
I added one new feature since the final beta release, the ability to change the table skin among other graphics (images below). The table is drawn from the 'images/table.bmp' file. Try changing the names of the other tables in the 'images/' dir to 'table.bmp' for your preferred colour.
## Controls ##
(when the balls are not moving)
[L] : help screen
[R] : activate/deactivate computer opponent
[SELECT] : new game, forfeit current game
[START] : demo mode, press any key to exit
[CROSS] : for placing the cue ball behind head string
[CIRCLE] : release cue ball in direction of cursor
[SQUARE] : hold down SQUARE and press up or down to
increase or decrease the shot's power
(can also be used to slow the cursor down for better aiming)
[TRIANGLE] : take screenshot (saves as screenshot.bmp)</blockquote>

The Ultraman Fighting Evolution series has counted up to three on the PlayStation 2. Now, it's going back to zero as Banpresto brings Ultraman Fighting Evolution Zero to the PSP.
Fighting Evolution Zero looks like it will retain the same versus gameplay of the PS2 titles. A total of six Ultramen will appear in the game, including Ultraman Ace, Ultraman Seven, and Ultraman Tarou. New to the series is Ultraman Mebius, the latest Ultraman hero, who's now appearing on television.
Ultraman Fighting Evolution Zero is currently 80% complete and will see Japanese release in July.

News from IGN
Looking to download a sample of LocoRoco, one of Sony Computer Entertainment's hottest upcoming tites, but too lazy to search for one of those PlayStation Spot download terminals? If you can wait a couple of days, you won't even have to leave your seat!
SCE has announced plans to distribute a demo of LocoRoco directly via the internet. Starting 4/25, you'll be able to browse over to the official LocoRoco website on your PC and download the demo directly to your Memory Stick, which can then be inserted into your PSP for a sneak peak at SCE's addictive new puzzler.
The download will require that your PSP have version 2.70 firmware. An update will be available alongside the demo. Also, the demo has only been announced for Japan at this point, and we're not sure if SCEA will make a similar demo available through its US site.
Those who can put up with Japanese text out should check out the LocoRoco website on 4/25.

News from Gamespot
Sony is bringing the world's game back to American PlayStation Portables, as the company today announced that World Tour Soccer '06 would be dribbling into stores later this year.
This year's installment includes an emphasis on speedy game sessions and a variety of play modes that put twists on the basic soccer game formula. There are 10 new challenges that players can attempt to fulfill in four-minute matches, each requiring a condition ranging from making sure every player on the team touches the ball before a goal can be scored to playing the game with a basketball-style shot clock in place.
The game's new medal and world tour modes build on these challenges, requiring players to set their own matches and conditions as they take on the world or to play through preset scenarios in order to unlock more challenges, respectively.
Soccer purists who balk at the idea of tinkering with the beautiful game will still be able to play a traditional soccer sim in the game's exhibition mode. World Tour Soccer '06 will also support ad hoc wireless play for up to four players, as well as game sharing, so only one copy of the game is needed for multiplayer action.
The game is being developed by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe and is planned for a June release in the US. No price or rating information has been announced.

Key elements of the technology for PlayStation 3 - including the PlayStation Network Platform and the software to enable back-compatibility with PS and PS2 games - are being worked on at Sony's UK studios, GamesIndustry.biz has learned.
Sources at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe have revealed that technology for the PlayStation Network Platform is being developed at Sony's London studio, under the internal name of "PlayStation HUB".
This tallies in with our earlier report about the progress in developing a billing system for the platform with the Royal Bank of Scotland, with testing on that aspect of the network system due to begin next month.
However, as yet it's not clear whether PlayStation HUB is the final name for the system which will be used in the company's marketing, or if a more consumer-friendly name will be chosen before the PS3 launches in November.
Elsewhere in Sony's UK division, other teams are working on the backwards compatibility for the PlayStation 3 - which, one programmer on this project has revealed to GamesIndustry.biz, will be accomplished in software rather than by building the PS2 hardware into the PS3 console, as was the case with the PS2's emulation of the PSone.
Sony has already pledged that all PS2 games which adhered to the company's TRC (technical requirements checklist) will be playable on the PS3 - and according to our source, the software emulation system is progressing well and may indeed meet that lofty goal.
He claimed that a surprising number of PS2 titles are already working on PS3 prototype hardware, and revealed that the emulation tricks being used to mimic the behaviour of the notoriously complex PS2 processors are getting whole swathes of game titles up and running on an ongoing basis.
While our source was positive about the progress being made on backwards compatibility, the team is undoubtedly working under fierce deadline pressures - as if the vast, vast majority of the PS2's software library is not up and running by November, it will be hugely embarrassing for Sony in the wake of the company's frequent touting of compatibility with an existing software library as one of the key features of PS3, and one of its key advantages over the Xbox 360.
