Article from Gamespot
Fans of Seth McFarlane's Family Guy cartoon had mixed reactions when hearing about 2K Games making a game based on the show. When any license makes the leap to gaming, the interactive result can be a shell of what it was derived from.
The debate will no doubt linger on with the announcement of the first details of Family Guy, which is scheduled for release this fall on current-gen consoles.
Gamers will be able to switch back and forth between three characters: bumbling patriarch Peter Griffin, matricidal maniac Stewie, and martini-swigging canine Brian. Each playable character will have its own storyline--Peter is out to stop Mr. Belvedere from taking over the world, Stewie goes up against his archenemy Bertram, and Brian tries to escape his wrongful imprisonment.
Family Guy is loaded with tangential joke after joke that pokes fun at pop culture, and the 2K title will be no different, but in the game the jokes will be interactive. Gameplay is described by 2K Games as a combination of "combat, stealth, and puzzle-solving gameplay" throughout familiar locations in the show's setting of Quahog, Rhode Island.

It's pretty simple, but a nice piece of homebrew to play with when you got game time with some buds. You will need LUA player in order to run this on your PSP.

Psilocybeing has released a demo of his RPG for the PSP, heres some info:
Here's a look at the linking of origin/destination of particle streams with entity entries. You can check out the demo eboot aswell if you want. The speed will drop due to there being many particles alive, but in the actual game there should never be anywhere near as many particles being managed as are currently in this tech demo.
As you can see from the screenshot below, particles that have linked origin AND destination pointers will use those two locations and calculate the heading and lifetime required to get to that point at a random speed between a min/max range.

PS3 backwards compatibility to be handled via software emulation. Good luck with that
Here's something we can all speculate wildly about: it looks like the PS3 will be using software to emulate the PS2 on the PS3, instead of the hardware solution used to emulate PS1 games on the PS2. Confused yet?
The PS2 actually included PS1 hardware: the input processor for the PS2 was luckily the same chip as the main processor for the PS1. This was somewhat of a lucky break, and it meant that all the PS1 games would play perfectly on the PS2 with very little effort on Sony's part. This was a large selling point at launch when gamers could play all of their PS1 games. Without that hardware, it would have been much more difficult to get every game running so quickly. This is what Sony faces with the PS3. The PS2 is an infamously complicated system, having to emulate it in software for the PS3 will be a challenging task. If the early reports are to be believed progress is coming steadily, with many titles already up and running. Let's hope so.
Backwards compatibility plus an inexpensive DVD player was a one-two punch that helped the PS2 rocket to the top last generation. With backwards compatibility and a Blu-Ray drive in the PS3, Sony is obviously hoping for the same thing this round. Gamers will expect every game to work at launch, and to work perfectly. This is something that MS hasn't been able to achieve with the 360, giving Sony the chance give gamers yet another reason to wait for the PS3.
If Sony is able to pull off the emulation, it will be quite the achievement, and a huge selling point for the system.

New Commercial PSP Game released, heres the info:

Sudoku is the puzzle phenomenon from Japan, a game that looks like a math problem, but is in fact a twisting puzzler. The rules are simple: start with a grid consisting of nine three-by-three squares in which some of the numbers are already supplied. Fill in the blank squares so that each column, row, and three-by-three grid contains a number from 1 to 9 with none repeated. Kazuo features a thousand puzzle problems (plus the option to download more later), tutorial and training modes as well as an in-game help, and multiplayer options that include pass play, VS, battle, collaborative play, and even Game Sharing.

April 27th, 2006, 21:52 Posted By: wraggster
Things really started heating up today in Tokyo when Sony threw down the next-gen console gauntlet right at the feet of MS, claiming the PS3 would sell far more than the Xbox 360 is set for in its first few gasping months of life.
Plus, the Sony suits addressed the critical bottom line, going so far as to claim the PS3 should be profitable ASAP. While turning a profit on this beast is a mighty challenge, there’s not exactly much to boast about in beating the 360. Time will tell who's left with blood on their hands.
— Sony expects its upcoming PlayStation 3 console to be out of the starting gate more quickly than Microsoft's Xbox 360, it said Thursday in Japan.
The company, which recently pushed back the launch of its console to November, said it expects sales during the first four to five months after launch to be about 6 million units. Microsoft, which launched the Xbox 360 in November last year, expects sales to hit between 4.5 million units and 5.5 million during about the first seven months.
Sony has spent about ¥50 billion (US$41 million) during the past year on development and launch preparations for the PlayStation 3, said Nobuyuki Oneda, Sony's chief financial officer, at a Tokyo news conference to announce the company's full-year results.
After the introduction of the PS3 we will focus our efforts on expanding the platform as rapidly as possible, Oneda said. We will also attempt to lower the manufacturing costs by reducing the number of parts used in hardware and reducing the costs of the semiconductors and other key components. By so doing, we aim to bring the PS3 business to profitability at the earliest possible time.
During the fiscal year just ended, Sony shipped 16.2 million Playstation 2 consoles. The number is slightly higher than the previous year, but Sony expects this to fall rapidly during the current year as customers favor the soon-to-be-launched PlayStation 3. Sony said it predicts about 10 million Playstation 2 consoles will be sold this year.
The handheld PlayStation Portable device did well during the year, but again Sony expects sales in the current year to decline. The PSP, which was launched in Japan in late 2004, shipped 3 million units in its first few months on sale. In the following 12-month period shipments were 14.1 million units. In its current fiscal year, from March to April 2007, this is expected to drop to 12 million units.
Software shipments for all PlayStation consoles hit 267 million units, which is just below the previous year's total. Within this, PlayStation 2 software shipments dropped 12 percent, and PSP software shipments jumped more than 600 percent.

News from Gamespot:
Sega today announced that World Snooker Championship 2007--called World Pool Championship 2007 in the US--is going next gen and will be released on both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The game will also be available on the PlayStation 2, with all three versions scheduled for release in the UK and North America in autumn 2006.
The game is being developed by Blade Interactive and will boast 104 top snooker players and ten official tournaments, all modelled for the 2007 season. The game will also boast a pool mode with 9-ball and 8-ball competitions, along with 10 major pool tournaments and a trick-shot championship.
The addition of the pool feature has let Blade create a Golden Cue mode, which will mix different cue sports into one match. This lets gamers challenge others to a mix of pool and snooker over a number of frames. Further advancements have also been made in the create-a-player mode, which will let users customize their avatars even more.
A PlayStation Portable version of the game, titled World Snooker Challenge 2007--aka World Pool Challenge 2007 in North America--will also be available in the autumn.

Hurray for console pricing rumours, and hurray especially for PS3 pricing rumours! New gossip circulating the 'net is suggesting Sony's next-gen console could hit the UK cheaper than previously thought - at around 222 quid.
Apparently, these latest PS3 price-tag rumours originated in a US PlayStation magazine, grandly stating that the next-gen console will hit States-side for 399 USD in November (which, according to our abacus, works out at around the above mentioned 222 GBP). Obviously it'd never retail for 222 GBP - the 'ending in 9' pricing convention MUST BE OBSERVED - and, of course, it's unlikely we'd get anything near a direct dollar to pound conversion either, but that's cheap godammit. If it's true.
An intriguing rumour to be sure but one that, let's face it, is pretty hard to swallow - especially considering the expected supreme cost of Blu-ray players, which will feature inside the PS3. We'd love it to be true, but let's just wait for E3 where Sony will deliver concrete info on PS3 pricing. Well, it'd better do otherwise we're going to, er, do something bad.

Here's a heads-up on my most recent release for the PSP. It's basically a clone of Brainwave Generator, all packaged up into a tiny little PSP eboot. It allows for user-made presets to be loaded and played through the earphones.
Instructions:
Download and extract PME_2704_2.rar to your PSP/GAME directory.
Once it has been extracted simply run it from the game menu, or from Fanjitas loader(fully user mode, so it should work on 2.0+).
Once it has been loaded you will be presented with a menu, this is controlled with the DPAD and the X button. Hit X to start a preset, home is exit.
Enjoy!

IGN have posted a preview of Juiced: Eliminator:
Coming from developer Juice Games, Eliminator aims for the same kind of action as Juiced on consoles, which shipped June 2005. You'll start the game as a no-name racer, then, by winning races in a collection of cities, you'll eventually earn respect from other drivers. And, of course, there's serious money to make, too. In addition to racing, you'll spend plenty of time in the garage modifying and personalizing your collection of vehicles. Plus, with your cell phone, you'll have the chance to contact local drivers and challenge them to races.
Like many race games, Eliminator splits into various game modes. The first, and simplest, is Arcade Mode. It's basically where you want to start if you just want a no-commitment race. Arcade itself actually splits between different types of challenges, such as Novice Series, Midnight Series and American Muscle Series. Once you pick the series you want, you can then choose individual challenges. Again, it's a great way to start playing right away without having to dive into the game's Career Mode, which is a little more involved.

IGN have posted a great hands on of the soon to be released flying game:
Namco unveiled the first PSP iteration of the series, Ace Combat X: Skies of Deception, at its pre-e3 event in San Francisco. It shoots for the same level of action and flexibility as the console versions, only shrunk to portable form. It includes just about everything fans have to come expect, such as realistic planes and other military hardware, as well as a story that blends history with a little bit of fiction. And when it comes to art and style, it looks just like the bigger-screen games.

Kagato posted this news:
Electris is a puzzle game in the "falling block" genre.
The goal is to align the blocks to create closed circuits. As the circuits are closed, they are removed from the board.
Be careful -- you can place blocks such that you can't close a circuit! Large circuits will give you Eraser blocks so you can clean up mistakes.
Keep an eye on the timer as well; if you take too long to make a circuit, a penalty row will be added to the bottom of the screen.
1 point for each block dropped
10 points per block in a closed circuit
Chain circuits earn a score multiplier
Electris is a homebrew game for the PSP (Playstation Portable), written in LUA. To play it, you'll need a PSP with firmware 1.5; or for firmware 2.0 to 2.6, Fanjita's eLoader and a copy of GTA:LCS.
You'll also need the LuaPlayer homebrew application. See the documentation for each package for installation instructions. To install Electris, download the zip file and extract it.
Copy the Electris/ directory to the luaplayer/Applications/ directory on your PSP.
Status
Electris is currently in public beta. The basic game features are completed, but may need fine tuning based on user feedback. More advanced features will be added in upcoming versions.
I'm interested to hear any feedback. If you've got any comments, suggestions or bug reports, feel free to send me an email.
If anyone would like to donate some background music, please let me know!
LuaPlayer supports tracker formats, such as MOD, S3M, XM, IT etc.

Buena Vista Games has signed a deal with Q Entertainment to bring four of their upcoming titles to America.
Tetsuya Mizuguchi's company is readying Lumines II for the PSP, Lumines Plus, a reworked port of the PSP original for the PS2 and Meteos: Disney Edition for the DS. Buena Vista will also publish Q Entertainment's next original title, the action puzzler Every Extend Extra for the PSP, as well.
