I know i posted this a while ago but i get so busy with newsposting/webmastering/real life that i either forget or change my mind but tonight ive started off our Affiliate section.
The aims of the Affiliate Section are to add Respected PSP Sites who do not deal in warez or charge their members for whatever reason. Eventually we hope to have a mass of sites who make up the real PSP Scene because as you know, the PSP community isnt just one site or even 10 sites, theres hundreds of great sites out there all working on different aspects of the scene.
The affiliate section is on the right Column of the site , the first link is the PS2 Dev Forums, the one true Dev location for PSP.
What do we ask in return, well a linkback in a similiar fashion (ie on the front of your site).
Let me know if you as a PSP webmaster are interested.

Recently I've discovered Super Mini Mario by Arguru and PSP3D ( http://PSP3D.com with many mods availible at http://pspsmm.com) and I'd like to discuss why it is not only popular but an excellent homebrew to boot.
1. Super Mini Mario has fairly low overhead for what it is.
In other words, it doesn't take up a lot of space. That's a GOOD THING when ROMs and Emus take several MB at times, and when not everybody owns a 4 GB MS!
2. Super Mini Mario is very moddable. Anything from new art to new music to new levels can be done.
This is one of the biggest selling points of SMM - it can be modded by ANYONE with very, very little knowledge. I made a level the other day in like 15 minutes, and I have no real coding knowledge other than web dev and some C++ - not that it was necessary.
The other good thing about this isn't just customization, but the fact that you can expand SMM to have as many levels as you want.. you can download them, create them yourself, etc.!
3. MANY mods are already availible and cover alot of popular characters and franchises.
So far we have a Chocobo mod, several Sonic mods (for different characters), Pokemon mods, Halo mods... and of course more on the way I'm sure. All of these are also not just cosmetic, but also contain new levels.
4. SMM is great for playing on the go!
It's just one of those simple and fun games that isn't shallow enough to get boring but not deep enough to deter you from playing in a few minutes of your spare time.
5. SMM works on any firmware.
Indeed, SMM works on any firmware up to 2.6 to the very best of my knowledge. This isn't true with every program these days so it does count as a selling point in my book.
6. SMM is original on a technical level.
SMM isn't a 'port' of Mario - the engine is brand-new. That's why it's so easy to create mods based on any franchise (or, yet to be seen - an original idea, haha) imaginable.
7. SMM has the potential to keep growing through FANS of the software, not just devs!
This is a big point. Since anybody can mod it, anybody can contribute to content for the game.. there's already a fan-created level pack on the website I linked to of 25 levels. This also helps prevent SMM from becoming stale like so many homebrew releases sadly do after the dev either works on newer projects or no longer has time to do coding...
I'd have to say, next to Quake, this is the only homebrew on my MS right now! I just think that SMM is going to keep growing, at least for awhile. What are your guys's thoughts and feedback on this homebrew 'series'?

News from IGN
A forgotten PS2 classic will be making a return on the PlayStation Portable. According Sony's Japanese retail site, Koei will be bringing Gitaroo-Man Live! to the Japanese PSP, with a release planned for 5/25/2006.
Gitaroo-Man is a rhythm/dance game that hit the Japanese PlayStation 2 shortly after launch back in 2000. The game put players in the role of U1, a teenager who turns into Gitaroo-Man to fight off super villains. Simple gameplay and a unique art style put "niche" all over this one, but Koei was still good enough to give it a stateside release in 2002.
The PSP version places players in control of U1 once again, with music producer COIL and visual producer 326 reprising their roles. The game promises to be more balanced than the PS2 version and will also offer ad-hoc competitive play as well as a cooperative "duet" mode.

News from 1UP
As giant fans of the Family Guy television series, the developers at 2K and High Voltage (known for such other titles as Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude and Hunter: The Reckoning) realize the incredibly tall order in trying to capture its spirit in a videogame. They, along with the help of Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane, are ready to prove it can be done in a title that they describe as "interactive humor" -- a game where you actually play out the comedy. It'll be unique and ambitious, no doubt (we'd expect nothing else), and today we've got your very first look.
In the game, you take control of Peter, Stewie, and Brian, each with unique objectives. As Stewie, you match wits against your equally diabolical brother Bertram as you vie to take over the world. Peter's quest is to stop Mr. Belvedere (ha!) from also trying to take over the world. And as Brian, you're tasked with escaping a prison, so you too can (what else?) take over the world. As the game progresses and stories overlap, you switch from character to character.
According to the developers, the actual gameplay involves combat (you know Peter's going to end up fighting the giant chicken at some point), stealth (Brian sneaking out of prison, no doubt), and puzzle-solving gameplay (one can only wonder). Interestingly, you'll also be able to play out the random, non-sequitur sequences that have become so common in the show.
The Family Guy game is slated to hit stores later this year, and you can be assured we'll be back with lots more details and impressions in the coming weeks and months.

News from IGN
Today Ubisoft announced that it is creating a game based on Columbia Pictures' upcoming full-length animated movie, Open Season. Ubisoft plans to release the title for "all available video game platforms," though the company has yet to list specific systems.
Open Season: The Movie, Sony Pictures Animation's first full-length film, is the story of a bear (voiced by Martin Lawrence) lured into a forest just before hunting season by a mule deer (Ashton Kutcher). Together they rally the woodland creatures in a revolt against the hunter-oppressor humans to stop the seasonal slaughter.
Open Season: The Videogame's single-and multiplayer modes allow players to throw skunk bombs, hurl rabbits, operate acorn-firing squirrels, and "pull outrageous woodland pranks" to fight back against those who seek to turn you into Elks Lodge décor. The title is currently in development at Ubisoft's Montreal studio.
Open Season: The Movie is scheduled for release September 29th, with Open Season: The Videogame due September 15th.

April 14th, 2006, 02:27 Posted By: wraggster
First off a quick note about the issues with PS2Dev/Fluff over the selling of homebrew, first off i think its better that homebrew stay free but i can fully understand that the amount of work coders put in and the desire to get something back via donations etc.
anyway onto the reason why i posted this.
Theres a really disturbing amount of sites charging people (and yes you are getting took to the cleaners) for downloads, removal of ads and other reasons.
Some of these sites have just homebrew on their servers yet they are charging silly money for people to download off them.
Just remember that someone is making a lot of money off your membership and for what, the PSP scene is for free and totally free, dont be suckered into paying money to download, forum priveldges (cant spell ) or removal of ads.
Because at the end of the day they are just getting very rich off people who may not realise that its all for free.
Im not going to link to any of the sites but the list is a long one, the only way to stop them is to withdraw your cash from them and protest or boycott till they change.
