Greatness awaits, or so those PlayStation 4 ads keep telling us. But apparently Greatness has had enough waiting, and it's time to see who can catch it first. Sony has posed 64 challenges to the PS4 community, asking them to capture and upload proof using the system's Share feature, the PlayStation Blog has revealed. Those who complete the challenges will have their name posted to the First to Greatness website, which Sony teases will offer a "cool new experience" once all 64 tasks have been completed.
The PlayStation Blog also claims that a remake of the PS4's "Perfect Day" ad is on its way, and this one will feature "many" of the uploaded firsts. If you need any instructions on how to pursue Greatness - not that you would, we're putting it out there just in case - the PS Blog and First to Greatness site have additional details.

A Sony-issued Romanian PlayStation 4 press release has outed a previously unannounced entry in the Siren series, hinting at the possibility of a PS4 sequel.
Listed among known upcoming games like InFamous: Second Son and The Order: 1886, the PlayStation 4's Siren would follow up on 2008's episodic survival horror miniseries Siren: Blood Curse on the PlayStation 3.
While it ranks as a cult favorite stateside, the Siren franchise has traditionally seen greater exposure in Europe and Japan. Both regions hosted retail releases for Blood Curse, which launched exclusively as a digital download in the United States. In addition, the PlayStation 2 sequel Forbidden Siren 2 never saw a North American release, though an English-language localization hit Europe and Australia in 2006.
No further details regarding a possible Siren sequel have been announced.

No pre-order? No problem. Instead of forking over cash for a new console early, Sony fans attending the company's November 28 midnight launch festivities in London can buy a PlayStation 4 at the event.
This offer does not come without caveats. The supply of PlayStation 4 consoles being sold at the event will be issued on a first come, first served basis. Sony is allowing fans to line up for the launch event as early as Thursday morning, and given that PS4 pre-orders have been sold out for months, it's probably in your best interest to show up as early as possible.
While this does mean that you'll likely be spending hours in the chill of an English winter for the chance to spend £350 on a new gadget, Sony is hoping to make things a bit more bearable by offering dedicated line-sitters food courtesy Red Bull and Domino's Pizza. There's no word on heating elements though, so if you hope to grab a PS4 from the launch event, we suggest you bundle up.

November 25th, 2013, 23:16 Posted By: wraggster
On Sunday morning we reported on a quartet of new game announcements from Atlus Japan: Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth, P4U: Persona 4 The Ultimax Ultra Suplex Hold, Persona 4: Dancing All Night and Persona 5. Today we have a bit more information on these games, courtesy series director Katsura Hashino.
"Just like the experiment of making a fighting game based off the Personaseries in Persona 4 Arena, which was also well received by fans, the plan of making Persona Q came from wanting a game that could bring further joy from an even more 'unexpected element'," Hashino stated in a Famitsu article translated by Siliconera. "This will be the first title the Persona team will be making for Nintendo 3DS, and we also have Etrian Odyssey that represents Atlus for the 3DS, and we'll be using its system as part of a 'festive' collaboration mindset in the development for Persona Q."
While Persona Q is a fusion of Persona and Etrian Odyssey, Hashino assures fans of the former that Persona elements will be the foremost focus of the game. "While we are implementing Etrian Odyssey's system into it, just as the name implies, Persona Q will be a completely new title, but first and foremost, it'll be for the fans of the Personaseries."
Though Hashino doesn't go into this level of detail on the other games, he does discuss how far along each is in its development. Like Persona Q, Persona: Dancing All Night is almost completed, with only a few new dances and animations to be added to the rhythm-focused spin-off game. Likewise, P4U: Persona 4 The Ultimax Ultra Suplex Hold is nearly ready to release (though this shouldn't be surprising given that its arcade incarnation was announced in August). Persona 5 lags behind the other titles announced, but Hashino is committed to releasing the game in Japan toward the end of 2014.
Notably absent from Hashino's comments is any word on when or if these games might appear outside of Japan.

PlayStation Home has been updated with a virtual PlayStation 4 area, where users can embark upon a most mighty and epic quest. A "Quest For Greatness" as Home calls it. Okay, so maybe it's less "epic" and more "find 13 hidden cards," but PSOne games Twisted Metal, Warhawk, and Destruction Derby are yours for the taking should you complete the hunt, along with lots of PS4-branded virtual swag.
The Quest For Greatness can be accessed via the Experience PlayStation 4 area, which is connected to the Home main hub. Inside the Experience PS4 area is a giant PlayStation Vita, and it is here your quest begins. Reddit posters have claimed that the ordeal shouldn't take more than roughly 10 minutes, so if that amount of time for three PSOne games playable on your PS3 and Vita sounds worth it, log onto PlayStation Home and get to collecting.

Sleeping sucks, you miss news of different timezones for sure. So, what did happen while I slept?
1) PS4 Game Dumps
According to an A9VG member, PS4 games can be dumped with a common PC Blu-Ray drive.
It seems that already a few games were dumped, inlcuding Killzone, Knack, Battlefield4 and AC4.
As soon as I get access to a disc or dump myself, I will do an analyse of the containing files.
For more details of the dumps, like game disc sizes and file structure please check out PS3Hax.
2) HDMI Fail
What happens if you force students to build your Next-Gen console under pressure? Well, they might return you faulty HDMI jacks.
IGN, Kotaku and many more individual users report that their PS4 video output stopped working. The console apparently is unusable for those who experienced it.
3) For those who already received a console
Sadly im still looking for a PS4 unit, if you can help me to get one contact me at skfu@skfu.xxx.
In case you got a unit for yourself, here are some examples of what has to be tested:
- Before powering up the unit for first time, make a 1:1 dump of the HDD
- Dump a game disc
- Burn the dump to an empty BD
- Check if the PS4 recognizes the disc
- Check any files which can be transfered from PS4
- Install a modified firmware
- Use my PS4FwTool
- Extract 2 firmwares
- Rebuild a new firmware based on both output
- Possible brick! Do at your own risk!
- Recovery menu should bring you back in case of faulty firmware, but only do this if you actually are aware of the risk and know what you do!
- Modify the Companion Tool (iOS/Android)
- Intercept game traffic between Companion Tool and PS4 game
Happy hacking,
- SKFU

via http://pdroms.de/
PPSSPP is a PSP emulator written in C++, and translates PSP CPU instructions directly into optimized x86, x64 and (soon) ARM machine code, using an efficient JIT compiler. PPSSPP can thus run on quite low-spec hardware, including stronger Android phones and tablets, as long as there’s support for OpenGL ES 2.0.
Changes:
* Atrac3+ plugin no longer required! Thanks Maxim for hard reverse-engineering work
* Many, many emulation fixes, including: bezier/spline curve support, fixing Loco Roco and others, stencil clear emulation, fixing Final Fantasy IV text
* Android-x86 support
* Post-processing shaders like FXAA, scanlines, vignette
* More solid save states (we will try to keep them working from now on. Save states only upgrade forward, not backward to older versions though)
* Change render resolution independently of window size
* Massive debugger improvements on Windows, by Kingcom and unknownbrackets (GE)
* Win32 menu bar is now translatable. Language changes are applied instantly.
* Win32: Ability to store PPSSPP’s config files and memory stick files in places other than the same directory
* Qt audio fixed, Symbian audio and ffmpeg is now threaded for more consistent media processing
* Haptic feedback support for mobile devices
* Accurate system information for mobile devices
* Analog controller support for Blackberry
* Windows installer (coming soon) http://www.ppsspp.org/index.html
