Hotline Miami for PS3 and Vita will be the latest game added to the US Instant Game Collection with this week's PlayStation Plus content update.
The game will be available to download at no additional cost to US PS Plus subscribers from tomorrow, October 21, when the weekly PlayStation Store update is deployed.
 The debut effort from indie studio Dennaton Games made waves in the indie scene following its PC launch last autumn before being ported to PlayStation earlier this year. It takes place in an alternative version of 1989 Miami with players murdering their way through the seedy underworld.
Sony has also confirmed a long list of new titles deeply discounted exclusively for PS Plus users, including The Last of Us, The Walking Dead and Dead Island Riptide.

It’s almost hard to believe that we’re rapidly approaching two decades since PlayStation burst onto the scene.
And in a stirring (for us old gamers out there) video Sony has wonderfully tapped into all of that nostalgia to show has times have changed since the debut of the first PlayStation back in 1995.
It shows how things have evolved for the typical (well, perhaps not so typical – all the people in this video are prettier than any real people we’ve ever actually met) bedroom gamer in the last 18 years, beginning with a spot of Tekken on the PSOne all the way up to Killzone: Shadow Fall on the PS4.
PS4 arrives in Europe on November 29th and in North America on November 15th.

The delays of Watch Dogs and DriveClub have had an unfortunate consequence for a handful of gamers in the US.
Kotaku reports that consumers who pre-ordered with the PS4 and Watch Dogs bundle or PS4 and DriveClub bundle with Target have not just seen their games cancelled – they’ve also lost their hardware too.
Adding insult to injury, Target has said it will re-open pre-orders for the machine later this week on a “first come, first served basis”.
The same thing has also happened to those who pre-ordered the retailer’s Xbox One Watch Dogs bundle.
The incident appears to be isolated, at least. On this side of the Atlantic both Amazon and GAMEhave told affected customers that their hardware is safe.

The team responsible for the first ODE PS3 updates its Windows software mainly to create its iso images. Indeed, ISOTOOLS application goes to the 1.33 version with some bug fixes as well as added extras.
Additions / Changes : - Fixed a bug when creating the IRD file from a disk - Fixed a bug where the application crash when visionage IRD files - Added the ability to select a network HDD with IsoMenuCreator The developers are telling us they will also look into another bug that consumes too many resources and is sometimes even crash the computer when using the IsoMenuCreator. 3k3y ISOTOOLS 1.33 Official website: 3k3y.com

 Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas will become a nightmare before Halloween, thanks to an upcoming costume pack and level kit for LittleBigPlanet 2 and LittleBigPlanet Vita. Neither piece of DLC has a confirmed release date, but the PlayStation Blog and LittleBigPlanet website both claim we'll see SackSkellington (haa) and friends sometime "next week."
The costume pack includes everything you need to transform your Sackboy or Sackgirl into Jack Skellington, Sally, Dr. Finkelstein or Oogie Boogie. Meanwhile, the level kit will contain stickers, objects, a background and an interactive music track. We know it's probably "This is Halloween," and that "Oogie Boogie's Song" will forever be an underappreciated masterpiece, but what're you gonna do?

Do you remember Putty Squad? Funnily enough, I didn't - my dim recollection had it down as an Amiga game, but after checking Wikipedia (I'm a journalist, don't you know?) I discovered it never made it to that platform properly, and was only ever fully released on the SNES.Well if you felt like you were left out last time out, rejoice - there's a remake coming to various platforms next year, and Ian Higton got himself a look at the PlayStation 4 version. It's not the most impressive looking game, but then you probably weren't expecting it to be. Still, it shapes up nicely enough when compared to the original, something Ian's done using some video wizardry below.

Although there’s a certain amount of cryptic messaging to get past, it looks like EA’s next-gen racer is looking impressive on PS4 - going by what critics have been shown so far.
Polygon reports that Need for Speed Rivals “is a more visually impressive” on PS4 than even on PC, although the console SKU is “currently slightly more buggy”
Added the site: “We switched to the PS4 version and were surprised to find a game that looked even more impressive than its PC counterpart, with better texture detail, improved lighting on cars and sharper graphics overall.”
A separate report on Videogamer adds that “there will be 'subtle' graphical differences between all versions of Need For Speed: Rivals – including the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions”
A second, older Videogamer story quotes Ghost Games’ executive producer Marcus Nilsson as saying: “What we’re seeing with the consoles are actually that they are a little bit more powerful than we thought for a really long time – especially one of them, but I’m not going to tell you which one.
“But in reality, I think we’re going to have both those consoles pretty much on parity – maybe one sticking up a little bit. And I think that one will look as good as the PC.”
The site adds that when pressed Nilsson “chose not to answer when asked whether he was referring to the PS4 version”.
Note that EA has chosen to demo the PS4 and PC builds to the press but not the Xbox One code.

The PS4 will cost R$3,999 in Brazil – or £1,143 when converted to pounds.
The price is over three times that of the PS4’s UK price tag – £349 – and is made even more expensive for those actually wanting to play games on the console, with each title costing R$179, or £51.
The South American country isn’t the first to be handed a hefty price for the PS4 – Argentinians will have to cough up $1,100, or £680, to get their hands on the next-gen console.
Sony Brazil has explained that the console’s asking price is upped by the addition of the import fees and taxes, with the fees making up almost £800 of the extra cost.
It remains to be seen how many Brazilian gamers will be dedicated (or well-off) enough to buy the console when it’s released next month, but Sony’s worldwide prospects seem promising for the PS4’s launch, especially following the recent announcement by sales tracker NPD that the PS3 had outsold the Xbox 360 in the US for the first time in 32 months.
"The PS3’s success this month was largely driven by sales of the ‘PS3 Super Slim 500GB Grand Theft Auto V' bundle demonstrating how Grand Theft Auto V can shake things up on in hardware as well as software," said Liam Callahan from The NPD Group.
“The launch of Grand Theft Auto V this September was a much needed shot in the arm for the entire industry. Overall retail sales across hardware, software and accessories were up 27 per cent versus September 2012, lifted by software sales of Grand Theft Auto V.”
“There was also an increase of over 50 per cent for combined Xbox 360 and PS3 software unit sales, which are now showing a positive trend year-to-date through September.”

Loss of first-party racing title would bring PS4 launch exclusives to just two
Evolution Studios’s PlayStation 4 racing game, DriveClub, may not be ready in time for the console’s US and European launch next month, new reports suggest.
An anonymous source told The Same Coin that DriveClub has been delayed until spring 2014, while someone familiar with Sony later told Kotaku that the report is true.
A further report from Polygon has added to this claim, with Sony rep confirming that DriveClub was not on display at a US preview event yesterday.
“Unfortunately the DriveClub team did have some scheduling conflicts and they were not able to make it to the showcase today,” an SCEA rep wrote in an email.
On Twitter, DriveClub design director Paul Rustchynsky responded to requests on the game’s status by saying: “Unfortunately guys I don't have any new information on DriveClub to share. I've been out if [sic] the office for a week looking after my newborn!”
The loss of of the social racing game will be a blow to PlayStation 4’s launch, bringing the console’s list of retail exclusives to just two: Killzone: Shadow Fall and Knack. Xbox One on the other hand will have at least four exclusives, Dead Rising 3 and Forza 5 among them.
The launch line-up for both next-gen consoles received a shock upset earlier this week when Ubisoft delayed Watch Dogs, a hugely anticipated next-gen title, until spring 2014.

Velocity Ultra - FuturLab's Vita remake of its PlayStation Mini shooter/puzzle hybrid Velocity - will be coming to PS3 later this year in an enhanced HD port.This HD version is being published by Curve Studios, who handled the PSN ports of Lone Survivor and Thomas Was Alone. Where it really shines, however, is in the indie department; stuff like Thomas Was Alone, Hotline Miami and Guacamelee. Indie games are going to be a big focus for Sony going forward too, on top of all the back-and-forth with PS4. If you've been thinking about picking one up, this might be the time.

The Ratchet & Clank Nexus release date in Europe has been pushed back one week to November 20.
The game was originally set for an EU release of November 13. The US release, where the game is titled Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus, is unaffected, remaining on track for a November 12 arrival.
 On a more positive note, developer Insomniac Games has confirmed that every copy of the new Ratchet & Clank entry will also get a downloadable copy of Quest for Booty free.
Priced at €29.99 / $29.99, the PS3 game will launch in stores and as a digital download from the PlayStation Store.
An epilogue to the Future games (Tools of Destruction, Quest For Booty, A Crack in Time), Into the Nexus is the first 'traditional' instalment in the Ratchet series since 2009's A Crack in Time.
Insomniac senior community manager James Stevenson says: "It's a very polished self-contained return to the Ratchet adventures of yore. It's impactful, too; filled with planet-hopping, guns blazing, joke-cracking Ratchet & Clank, and events happen here that will change Ratchet forever. Think of it as a small epic."

Those who have ordered the PS4 Watch Dogs bundle from GAME have been told that their console pre-orders are secure.
“As many of you have heard Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs has slipped into spring 2014, to help make the game the best it can be for you,” the company said on Twitter. “We'd like to give you an update on what this means for your Watch Dogs and PS4 bundle pre-orders with us.
“[Regarding] Watch Dogs software – your pre-order will remain secure (both online and in-store) with us until day of release next year. [Regarding] Watch Dogs PS4 console bundles – your PS4 remains secure for launch. We will be in touch with you all shortly to arrange an alternative.”
Whether that ‘alternative’ will be a solus hardware bundle or instead a console with an different choice of game remains to be seen.

Thatgamecompany’s Flower and Flow will both be released on PS4, it has been confirmed.
It gets better, however – those who have previously purchased the games on PSN will receive the updated PS4 versions for free. Sony says that they’ll be available upon the machine’s launch on November 29th in Europe and November 15th in the US.
Both games are also getting a release on Vita.
As is the way with Thatgamecompany, both games are visually wonderful meaning that their arrival in 1080p and 60fps on PS4 is a great addition to the console’s line-up.
Queasy Games’ Sound Shapes has also been confirmed as a PS4 launch title along with former Vita exclusive Escape Plan. All four games will support Cross-Buy.
There’s even a video, which is right here. All they need to do now is announce a PS4 version of Journey and it will literally be like Christmas arriving early:

PlayStation 4 demo kiosks have begun popping up across select US stores.
The PlayStation US blog announces that Sony Store, GameStop, Best Buy, Target and Walmart are rolling out kiosks today, with other participating retailers adding the fixture in the coming weeks.
Playable PS4 games include FIFA 14, Knack, Contrast, Octodad: Dadliest Catch, Super Motherload and Pinball Arcade.
The new DualShock 4 controller will naturally be on display as well.
Folks interested in locating a kiosk can do so through Sony's Experience PlayStation 4 site.
