Insomniac197 has updated his Phoenix Game Engine for PSP:
Phoenix Game Engine (PGE) is a fully featured engine for game development written by InsertWittyName and MK2k.
PGE Lua is the Lua wrapper of that engine.
-= FEATURES =-
pge.controls - Handling button and analog input.
pge.dir - Directory access and file system operations that deal with directories.
pge.file - File access and file system operations that deal with files.
pge.font - TrueType font loading and drawing.
pge.gfx - Graphic primitives drawing.
pge.math - VFPU math module.
pge.mp3 - MP3 playback for background music.
pge.net - Net and socket functions.
pge.texture - Image loading and drawing.
pge.timer - Timer module.
pge.usb - USB functions.
pge.utils - Utility functions for using the dialogs and retrieving system information.
pge.wav - WAV loading and playback for sound effects.
pge.zip - ZIP file access and extraction.
PGE Lua uses a port of the latest Lua release 5.1.4, which has been optimised specifically for the PSP.
PGE Lua comes with 23 fully commented samples demonstrating how each module is used.
There is an emulator for PGE Lua which runs on Windows, Linux, OSX and allows PSP-less development. This is almost complete and will be released at that time.
-= VIDEOS =-
Low resolution:
-= INSTALL =-
Copy the 'pgelua' folder to PSP/GAMEXXX/ (or PSP/GAME/ if your kernel is set to 3xx/4xx in the recovery menu).
-= KNOWN ISSUES =-
None as of this writing. With this being an initial release I would expect there to be a few undiscovered bugs. Let us know.
Coded in pure C and asm using the homebrew PSPSDK.
Thanks to TyRaNiD for psplink, which was used extensively in debugging.
Thanks to all in #psp-programming on freenode.net, where quality homebrew is produced. Special thanks to those in #lua who know so much about Lua it scares me.
Personal thanks to romero126 and Soulkiller, who tested, provided feedback and helped me steer PGE Lua to where it is.
Massive thanks to Raphael and Tomaz - the work we did on triEngine helped me really understand what an engine is.
Biggest thanks to MK2k for joining the project midway through development and making it much more than I ever expected.
-= NOTES =-
Please be aware that this is not Lua Player.
PGE Lua is it's own product and shares zero code with Lua Player.
For the C developers, the C API of Phoenix Engine will be released in due course, shortly.
PGE has been in development for over a year, it's not some mis-match of code copied from other people. This is the real deal.
There are lots more plans in store for PGE and PGE Lua, a roadmap will be released shortly showing the expected development.
-= SUPPORT =-
For further help that is not supplied by the samples or documentation, there are forums for PGE at http://pge.luaplayer.org/.
We are also on IRC, channel #psp-programming on irc.freenode.net, for one-to-one help.
-= UPDATE =-
Version 0.02 has been released.

Dark-Show has updated the Nes emulator for the PS3, heres whats new:
hey, i've spent that last day or so making the menu system and screen sections better on PS3Filer.
i've also taken out image handeling as i see no need for it, and i never though this would be a public release. Directory hendeling has been removed for a short period but it is replaced with better file hendeling, as i've added file scrolling to the menu system.
hope you like it and you dont need to tell me about sound, im looking into it, unless the original author beats me to it.
P.S. now that i think of it, i've also added a new mode, its activated by pressing the green button in the dvd menu, its better to do it in the menu as it can leave (very annoying) garbage behind.

It's been three months since we've seen any moving pictures from Golden Axe: In Name Only, but is that enough time to prepare yourself for a new trailer? Have you had enough time to get ready for footage of a title that's so clearly not a Golden Axe game that it's almost kind of adorable? Are you ready for "Not this day!" sure to be one of the classic video game lines of all time? Most importantly (and prominently), are you braced for the most gratuitous digital ass shot of this or any other decade?

Sony CEO Howard Stringer has said PS3 sales aren't suffering as a result of the Wii's popularity - even though Nintendo may have adopted "a superior business model".
"The Wii is a well-made device that has found a new target group. For a while, we held the same target group with the SingStar karaoke game. But perhaps we neglected to pursue that avenue," Stringer told Die Welt.
"PlayStation games are rather designed for those who play a lot. Although it's a different strategy, it pays off. We currently have a production bottleneck with the PlayStation 3."
In other words, people are snapping up PS3 consoles faster than Sony can make them, according to Stringer. "You also know, however, that our business model is not perfect, and that we make a loss on every console we sell," he conceded.
"Nintendo makes money with the hardware alone, which may be a superior business model. But the Wii is not succeeding at our expense - it is not hurting us."
And besides, Stringer went on, "We are already making more money with the games than we are losing with the hardware."
But Sony spent USD 3 billion on bringing PS3 to market, let's not forget. Will it ever get that money back?
"Not for as long as I live," said Springer, laughing the laugh of a man who wouldn't get out of a next-gen DVD format war for less than USD 3 billion.
"It will certainly take some time... We are currently at the stage in which we need to get a grip on the production costs. That takes time."

Speaking in a recent interview, Sony Computer Entertainment America product marketing manager John Koller revealed that the battery life of the PSP-3000 will be decreased by 20-30 minutes, due to the larger power draw of the brighter screen.
"Battery life will decrease by a small amount, it’s about 20 minutes maybe 30 minutes and that’s because there’s a larger power draw with the brighter screen."
Good news is, despite previous reports to the contrary, the PSP extended battery life pack is not being discontinued and will be available to consumers this holiday season, offering 8-10 hours of play time.

You know, sometimes these patent suits are justified. The Immersion stuff, that's fair enough, because Immersion actually make things that rumble. It's what they do. Stuff like this suit, though? It does little but take the piss. Orinda Intellectual Properties USA (the name says it all) have, on August 20, filed a suit against Sony, Sony Electronics, Sony Computer Entertainment and Sony Computer Entertainment America. They claim that the PS3's Blu-Ray drive (as well as other Sony BD players) violates a patent Orinda hold that relates to...storing data on a disc. Not only are the patent trolls asking for "a reasonable royalty", they want the sales of all Blu-Ray devices across America to be halted.
Earlier this month, a man walked into an EB Games outside St. Louis, pulled a gun and told the clerk his family was being held hostage and that he needed a PS3 to set them free. Good news! The police have apprended the man, his gun and the PS3. According to the police, the man's family was never in danger. According to us, the man is bonkers.
What else we learned: When the police originally were called about the crime, they arrived on the scene 37 seconds later as they have a station near that particular EB Games. 37 seconds? That's fast, but not crazy fast as the man, his gun and the PS3 had already fled the scene.
So there's a new Indiana Jones game hitting the DS and the PSP called Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings. While the PEGI rating for the game was vague, we have learned more details about the yet unannounced game.
Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings is not the "next-gen" game shown a while back. Sources tell us that the game is being developed by Montreal-based developer A2M for LucasArts.
The plot is about the staff of Moses, and the game features LEGO-type non-Nazi Nazis. Apparently, in one segment of the game there's a twin-balloon zeppelin that looks more like "giant floating tits". What's more, there were PS2 and Wii versions in development — no idea if those have been shitcanned or not.

A spec sheet is well and good (and trust us, these spec sheets are that), but when we're talking Blu-ray players it's really becoming a question of price: when will they drop? Well, if these Europe prices for the DMB-BD35 and DMB-BD55 from Panasonic are any indication, Panasonic's answer is "not yet." The BD35 is being priced at 399 Euro, while the BD55 will go for 499 Euro. Our guess is the conversion rates ($588 and $735, respectively) won't apply here when these get shipped over to the States, but even at $399 and $499 these well-specced players aren't doing themselves any favors in a Blu-ray market dominated by the PS3. There's really nothing to say about actual "hands-on" impressions of these two, though we would like to say that we scoured Panny's booth for the DMR-BR360V Blu-ray / VHS combo and were sad to come away empty handed, our tattered copy of "Titanic" unwatched.
A Best Buy tipster informed Max-Console that the upcoming PSP 3000 will feature support for the PS3s DualShock 3 controller. The tipster also noted that it will use 480i composite cables to play games on the TV instead of component 480p. Obviously, this is just a rumor—but it is definitely one I want to believe.
SCEE have announced two new PS3 bundles for Europe, to mark the launch of the new 80GB console. The first, to be released on September 10, will include the 80GB unit, two DualShock 3 pads and a copy of Gran Turismo 5 Prologue. A decent bundle, that, because consoles with two included controllers are a rare and precious thing these days. But the second bundle? Won't exactly have you begging "oh man, when does [your relevant market] get this?". Due for release on October 29, it'll include an 80GB PS3, one DualShock
In case you didn't know (and why didn't you), the PlayStation Network is free. The console may cost money, but the online service doesn't. Sony Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida explains to game site Games Industry Sony's view on free stuff:
We like to provide as many services as possible for free — we already provide our network access for gameplay for free — and the interesting thing about the network side and the Internet business is that there's a variety of revenue sources. Not necessarily getting people to pay, but with advertising and so on.
Those are things we're looking at, and learning how we can provide a service without people having to pay — but we still get our operation running with funding from somewhere so that we can maintain the level of quality we want.
While there's no such thing as the proverbial free lunch, it's nice to see Sony try.
Authorities were looking Wednesday for four Greensburg men who allegedly punched a city man in the face with brass knuckles and kicked him during an argument over a PlayStation 3.
Arrest warrants were issued this week for Jamie Fabiszewski Jr., 18, of 716 Eastmont Drive 3C; Adam Reese, 25, last known address of 562 Euclid Ave.; David Weimerskir, 28, also of 562 Euclid Ave.; and Nicholas Anthony Iapaluccci, 18, of 604 Mt. Pleasant St., police said.
All four are charged with aggravated assault.
Fabiszewski also is accused of having a prohibited offensive weapon and possessing an instrument of crime after police said he struck the 18-year-old victim, who was not identified, in the face with the brass knuckles.
Greensburg police Capt. George Seranko said the victim approached a gathering of approximately 30 people about 9:30 p.m. Friday near the intersection of Urania and Euclid avenues.
"(The victim) wanted to know what was going on," Seranko said. "The next thing he knew, Fabiszewski punched him."
Seranko said Reese, Weimerskir and Iapalucci started kicking the victim as he lay on the ground. The assault resulted from an argument over ownership of the PlayStation 3, police said.
The victim suffered a broken bone near an eye and other facial injuries, according to police.
Luaacro has released an updated version of his shell for the PSP
Hello everyone! I present to you the latest version of MACXT which is now in version 4 (as seen in the title ^ ^)
A MACXT without bug you believe me? ba is better not, there are still a little at Finder, but that's all, I have not seen the other (please send me (if you test) bugs that you find thank you)
Good pass on the explanations of the shell:
First you have some applications (walking) as iTunes and iPhoto, Adibou is a beginning but is not finished (thank you bizous), Adhoc and application transfer files wirelessly (super zero so I left a one who wants to have fun when it is done *****)
To launch programmes drag the mouse while at the bottom of the screen, something that will appear s'appel a dock (I say to those who do not know mac os x) here are all your programs
For iPhoto: Usage: go to File-> Open Image then in the "Module_FInder" select the image you want to select and then click OK once the image loaded, it will appear. For even in full screen, go to Presentation-> Full screen then read ^ ^. To save the image Wallpaper, simply make a right click on the image (Round on psp) and you click Defenir Wallpaper, to leave iPhoto go to iPhoto-> Quit voila ^ ^
For Itunes is also simple: there is an analysis of all your music in ms0: / MUSC and ms0: / PSP / MUSIC as well as in the case, you just press select music and click (with cross), right after I let you delve inside ^ ^
A new application was added Imessenger. I do not know if it works with two psp I can not test, it is ca that I count on you to tell me ^ ^ use is normally easy, but before logging avtivez first adhoc ! right after I leave you also look how it arises. Imessenger works well alone (that is already something) but has two or more I do not know ... (This is a local chat!)
You also have the Apple menu (for that go click on the apple (top left))
right now all keys:
Cross left clique =
Right click Round =
start = for Itunes, the music pauses
To select = Itunes, muisique s'arrete
Analog Pad = move the mouse
Cross multidirectional = move the mouse also
I was going to forget, if you put a UMD in the drive you can start by the same occasion
