PlayStation Home hasn't been around for too long but it's already attracting the wrong sort of crowd.
Sony Computer Entertainment America's published a load of new PSN stats which reveal that, aside from sex pests doing the running man, Home's also populated by loads of hoodies - you know, the ones that scare your gran.
According to Sony, hooded tops are Home's most downloaded item (see what we did there?!) followed by Resident Evil Degeneration G-Virus t-shirts and summer houses.
PlayStation boss Kaz Hirai said recently that the PlayStation Network now holds over 17 million unique accounts and that over one million dollars' worth of virtual goods had been sold through Home - now we know where all that cash has gone.
Elsewhere among the stats (via Kotaku), Call of Duty 4's Variety map pack is listed as PSN's all time top download, while the David Hasselhoff-starring PAIN is the most downloaded game to date. The most popular demo is Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.
Unlike in Europe, US PS3 owners also have movies and TV shows. New 24 and Family Guy were among the three most downloaded shows last week.

via Eurogamer
Capcom has reiterated that it still plans to release Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix for PlayStation Network in Europe after a report suggested the game was going round in circles between the publisher and Sony QA.
ThePSN quoted Capcom spokesperson Leo Tan, who reportedly said the game was going back and forth due to "faults and other problems", and that the publisher was hoping to submit a new version "within three weeks".
However, Tan told Eurogamer this morning that he didn't speak to the site in question, and issued the following statement: "We are keen to release Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix on PSN in Europe as soon as we possibly can."
HD Remix was originally released for Xbox 360 in Europe in late November, and has been available on PSN in the States since then as well, but the game has been conspicuously absent from the European store ever since.
Which is a shame, because it's wicked.

It's not every day Square Enix decides to release new Final Fantasy XIII media. In quite a change for the company, a new trailer has been released simultaneously worldwide. It showcases new scenarios and characters, unseen even in the infamous "Closed Theater" TGS presentations of yesteryear. It even shows -- wait for it -- real-time gameplay.
The hype machine for the game is just beginning, as this is but the first of many countdowns to come in the future. However, will Final Fantasy loyalists be able to handle the long wait to 2010?

The PSP does big business in Japan. Outside of Japan? Not as big. Hence, why some folks get down on the portable. Here's the latest gloomy PSP chatter.
Laurent Benadiba, CEO of Lyon-based dev Smack Down Productions, worked on a canned PSP title that never saw the light of day.
"I worked for two years on the PSP, as one of the only developers then, and I really believed in the platform at the time," he told game site Games Industry. "I still believe there's potential, but it's like self-confidence — if you trust yourself, maybe others will trust you. If you don't trust yourself, nobody will trust you."
For Benadiba, that's what happened with the PSP. "Sony released the product, but they never put enough of a push behind it. Games, ads, better shelf placement — trying to make an effort."
Continuing, the dev says the PSP lacks a strong game library and is easy to use for piracy.
Not sure we agree 100 percent. Granted, the PSP has a strong library of games in Japan, but still, as a handheld, Sony has made a valiant effort. Going up against Nintendo handhelds is not easy chore. Never has been, never will be.

Fans of 2D fighters and the Guilty Gear franchise, prepare for enjoyment. Aksys has revealed Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus, which is set to grace the PS2, PSP, and Wii with its 2D splendor in Spring 2009. As big fans of 2D fighters, we were more than happy to receive the press release and pass the info along to you all. So, what should you expect?
Well, there will be punching. There's also going to be some kicking. And, by all means, do not freak out when you see a character or two jump. Jokes aside, it's another Guilty Gear game. You pretty much know what you're getting into by now.

Hey all,
Labyrinth is a Lua Coded Homebrew which uses RayCasting Engine to draw 3D scenes.
Credits to :http://www.permadi.com/tutorial/raycast/
What’s This
The Labyrinth is a little brew game with no scenario. You just have to quickly find the way to the exit.
You’re timed for this!
As a matter of fact,The main aim of this brew is to show The game engine. The game apperas to be tridimentional, but it doesn’t uses any 3D algorithm, just RayCasting.
I’ve based this engine on Sean Connelly’s Codetank Source, and F. Permadi’s tutorial.
The animation goes fast on PC computer, but this is really slow on a PSP.I’ve did the best adjustements but i don’t think the job is done yet.Anyway you can give it a shot.
Commands:
Arrow Keys and Joystick: Move on Area.
Objectives: Just found the way to the exit before the times reaches zero.
Compatibility:
This fully work on Slim & FAt PSP.
EXtract contents into ms0:/PSP/GAME/
Nota: Anybody can try it, but this mainly concerns developers.

Fixed bugs in the installer
Installer auto-checks firmware
Added a few new cheats, including infinite health, one shot kill, etc.
On the above note: It is effing pointless to play online anyway. Someone found a ban code via nitePR, and released it, now everyone can ban anyone. Don't even complain.

Resistance 2 patch 1.40 will bring with it a number of fixes when it's made available for download today.
For a start, those unfortunate enough to have had their competitive and/or cooperative characters reset to level 1 and their XP disappear will see those nuisances rectified.
The patch will also address some medal and trophy, clan support and match balancing issues, amongst other things.
Once the patch has been released you'll automatically receive the download prompt the next time you play Resistance 2.
Here's the list of patch features from developer Insomniac (via PS Blog):
Multiplayer Progression
Some people have seen their competitive and/or cooperative characters reset to level 1. For several of those cases, this patch will not only bring back all the XP, stats, and attributes that you've lost, but it will also add to your character profile the XP/stats/attributes that you've earned since those levels were reset.
For example, say you were a level 20 medic and after being reset to level 1, and you earned 5,000 XP. Thanks to the patch, you'll return a level 20 medic and that 5,000 XP will be added to your profile.
This patch will also correct some medal and trophy issues, including the "Killing Machine" trophy (if you've already accumulated 10,000 kills but haven't received this trophy, it'll pop up as soon as you download the patch).
Trophy/Medal/Ribbons
"Salute Me" trophy is not awarded until player reaches level 31 (Lieutenant)
"Berserker" trophy can be collected during non-ranked games
"Survivor" medal can be collected in cooperative games
"Sure Shot" ribbon is awarded if player has accuracy of exactly 50%
Clans
Added clan support for viewing members, sending invites, and setting up clan tags
Default clan region is now USA
Match Balancing
Unbalanced ranked games are cancelled in staging before the game is started
Parties are prevented from matchmaking into free-for-all Deathmatch games
Competitive
Loadouts can be disabled in the "Create Game" screen in competitive games
Balanced the chance of dropping large ammo pickups in competitive games
Core Control scoreboard displays "Kills"
Improved scoreboard formatting
Cooperative
Balanced the amount of XP gained by the Medic class in cooperative games
Stalker movement enabled in cooperative games
Small ammo pickups don't give LAARK ammo in cooperative games
Weapons/Gameplay
Splash damage on Pulse Cannon can damage the player firing it
Rossmore reticule better reflects its accuracy
Fire is easier to shake off
Players cannot swap weapons in the middle of a melee attack
Miscellaneous
Localized text updates
Network message optimizations
EULA displays the correct language text for Norwegian, Finnish, Swedish and Danish
Now you may be asking, "But what about adding the option to save the second player's character progress?" Truth be told, it required a certain PS3 firmware that wasn't available at the time of Resistance 2's release. We now have that firmware and are currently working to implement the feature. As soon as it's ready, we'll get it out to you.

PSP title WipEout Pulse has been in development for PlayStation 2 for some time, Eurogamer has been told by a source close to Sony, but a statement from the publisher this week suggests it may no longer appear.
The PS2 version has been rumoured for a while - first in a French report in the middle of last year and then early this year in European retail guidance subsequently disowned by the publisher.
Sony declined to comment directly on WipEout Pulse for PS2, but told Eurogamer in a statement: "There are over 9.5m PS2s in the UK and we will continue to support this large userbase with software on an ongoing basis.
"Of course, we need to make a business decision that there will be sufficient demand for a particular product, but we see franchises such as SingStar and Buzz still selling very well - for example SingStar Abba which launched in December proved very successful.
"With regards to other titles we will judge each on an individual basis and make decisions accordingly."
WipEout Pulse was released for PSP in late 2007 in Europe and kept up the standard of the excellent WipEout Pure with numerous tracks and race types set over an extensive campaign, along with online multiplayer options.

If the Raiho shadow wasn’t enough of a clue Gamefly just spoiled Atlus’ surprise. They have a listing for Devil Summoner 2: Raidou Kuzunoha versus King Abaddon in their database (thanks Denpa no Sekai!!). According to Gamefly’s schedule the PlayStation 2 game will ship in May which sounds reasonable given the seven month localization gap between Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner - Raidou Kuzunoha vs. the Soulless Army.
Oh and Raiho, the Jack Frost mascot dressed in Raidou’s clothes, makes an appearance in the game too. Fingers crossed Atlus gives these out as a pre-order bonus like they did in Japan.

Wow, not only did Sony take the time to deny an IGN rumor about the PSP2, but the company took the opportunity to flat out insult the site. IGN recently cited "several credible sources" in a report on Sony's next handheld, allegedly featuring a touch screen, Bluetooth support, hard drive and GPS. MCV then spoke to Sony about the rumor -- that's when the sparks flew.
"Clearly, being a quiet time of year, many, what we thought to be credible websites, are making up stories about PSP2, and how it allows you to teleport across the globe, travel through time, and will be powered by the horns of baby rhinoceroses," Sony explained. "Hopefully, you can sense a mild tone of sarcasm, which should hopefully indicate how 'on the money' IGN are. Needless to say, we don't comment on rumour or speculation, but this is nonsense."
We don't know who to feel embarrassed for right now, but it's certainly going to be awkward if IGN is right.

That latest LittleBigPlanet patch? It's not Edam. You'll understand what that means in a second. The patch updates the game to version 1.08 and adds two new costumes, completely free of charge. These traditional Chinese outfits are to celebrate the Chinese New Year and, as you can see, are totally adorable. Aww!
There are more patches coming soon, according to a separate post on the official Media Molecule blog. Next up is Edam, which fixes a number of the game's LittleBigBugs (for the full list, check out the blog post). It's currently in testing and should be released in mid-February, with Cornish Yarg following shortly. The latter is said to contain "many fabulous things, most excitingly new creative abilities."
Finally, Leerdammer hopes to stabilize LittleBigPlanet's online functions, hopefully eliminating lag and packet loss issues. Between these patches and the promised downloadable content, it's going to be a busy couple of months for LittleBigPlanet fans.

According to IGN, the next incarnation of the PSP is on its way. And it's taking a few design cues from the iPhone. (Their words, really!)
IGN has learned from several credible sources that the PSP 2 is indeed on the horizon, and will be packing multi-touch technology. According to our sources, the PSP 2 will feature a widescreen multi-touch interface comparable to that of the iPhone for both in-game control and menu navigation.
The point of the touchscreen controlling in-game features is a big one, signaling that this is not the PSP-4000 we're talking about but a full-fledged PSP2. (Hardware revisions that will wildly affect gameplay are reserved for new platforms.) It's also fairly believable since Sony put the option into a recent customer poll.
Of course, IGN's release dates of "coming soon" and "on the horizon" have widely varied connotations. To me, that could mean "next week" or "next decade."

Here is something I wrote, because I was starting to accumulate so many .CTF themes, trying to sort through them in the XMB was starting to become a chore...
---------------------------------
WHAT IS IT ?
---------------------------------
- The purpose of CXMB Manager is to make the cataloging, and sorting, of your CXMB theme files easier.
----------------------------------------------
WHAT DOES IT DO ?
----------------------------------------------
- Allows you to store unlimited CTF themes.
- Allows full screen previews
- Fully functional favorites list. (Add, remove, ect...)
- Does not interfere with being able to apply ctf themes in xmb
- Allows importing of custom_theme.dat from Flash1
- Allows information to be stored/diplayed for each theme
----------------------------------------------------
HOW DO I SET IT UP ?
----------------------------------------------------
Set up is pretty easy.
- Theme previews are placed in the "ms0:/CXMB_Manager/CTF_Previews/ * NAME OF THEME/"
- Preview folder MUST be named EXACTLY as the .ctf theme it represents (minus the .CTF extension)
so if you wanted to set a a preview folder for "SchmediaCenter2009.CTF" you would name the folder "SchmediaCenter2009"
- If you would like a preview to show up for that theme, you need to place a 480x272 preview pic in .PNG format. Otherwise, it will just show up "No Preview".
- If you want the wallpaper to show up for a particular theme, you need to place the corresponding custom_theme.dat file for that theme in the preview folder.
To obtain the custom_theme.dat file, you just apply the theme from the XMB, then boot up CXMB Manager, and select the theme you want, and select the "Import custom_theme.dat option"
This only needs to be done once...
- If you would like store/view information for a theme, just fill out the info.txt file included, and place it in the theme preview folder.
You can then view the info while viewing the theme in CXMB Manager.
------------------------------------------------
SPECIAL NOTES
------------------------------------------------
- This program checks to see if all the required .prx files are set up properly for CXMB to run.
If they are not, the program will refuse to start.
- If you do not place a preview pic in the theme preview folder, that's OK.
But the theme will just show as "no preview" in the program
- Can't think of anything else right now - if you have comments/questions you can email me
