A New release of the elf launcher has occured today, heres whats new:
LaunchELF v4.33 (2009.01.12)
-Raised a debug constant which limited v4.32 USB_mass drives to 4 instead of 10
-Added a horizontal offset to the "About uLE" display
LaunchELF v4.32 (2009.01.11)
-Upgraded USBHDFSD to SVN rev 1503 by radad, which cures the bug causing large-file corruption in the previous uLE release, and also adds support for multiple partitions (each accessed as a separate mass?: drive) and extends the hotplugging limits (max 5 simultaneous devices with a total of max 10 partitions). Exceeding the limits will cause no harm, but the additional devices/partitions will not be accessible.
-Upgraded USBD to SVN rev 1494 by radad, making uLE "mass:" identical to that of old applications when using multiple USB drives in uLE.
-Improved MISC/PS2Disc subprogram to support launch of either DVD-Video disc or ESR-patched disc (but might not recognize disc type if a modchip is active)
-Added "ESR elf" entry to "Startup Settings..." configuration menu
NB: If no ESR elf has been configured a default of "mc:/BOOT/ESR.ELF" is used

More than two years ago, a little thing known as a PlayStation Network came online. True, it had a rocky start -- an ugly PlayStation Store design, games without voice chat, and so on -- but from that seed, a full-fledged game and video service has grown. Last week at the Consumer Electronics Show, Sony was happy to talk a bit about what has been and will be happening on the network -- the video store is a success and there's an update coming to Life with PlayStation -- but today the company opened the floodgates.
Below is information about PlayStation Home downloads, LittleBigPlanet levels, and more. It's all straight from Sony, and it's all related to you…
PlayStation Network by the Numbers
PlayStation Network registered users worldwide: 17 million+
Number of community-created LittleBigPlanet levels: Nearly 300,000
Times those LBP levels have been played: 68 million
Number of movies on the Video Store: 1,200
Number of TV shows on the Video Store: 3,000
Purchase or Rental?: More than 70 percent of video transactions are purchases
Number of PlayStation Home users: 3.4 million+
Number of downloads made in Home: 900,000+
Number of downloadble games for North America: 153
Number of those games release during the last quarter of 2008: 75
Number of games with DLC in North America: 70
Three most popular downloadable games last week:
Pain
High Velocity Bowling
Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix
Three most popular downloadable movies last week:
The Dark Knight
Iron Man
The Happening
Three most popular downladble TV shows last week:
Family Guy
Xam'd: Lost Memories
Afro Samurai

IGN has heard from multiple sources (both internally at LucasArts and elsewhere) involved in the long-in-development Indiana Jones title for Xbox 360 and PS3 that the game has been cancelled. Unofficially we've heard that developers are being reallocated to other projects and that the new Indiana Jones project that we last reported on in April 2006 is dead in the water.
If true, this should come as no real surprise as the game has gone dark for nearly the last three years, and with its total absence at last year's E3, this seemed like it was only a matter of time.
The official word from LucasArts public relations is the usual "We don't comment on rumors or speculation" line, but we're hearing otherwise from our sources. Stay tuned to IGN.com for more.

When NIS America announced Mana Khemia: Student Alliance it was on target for January 2009. We’re a third through January and haven’t heard anything about Mana Khemia: Student Alliance. What happened? I believe the game has been quietly delayed.
Three retailers switched Mana Khemia: Student Alliance’s release date from January to different dates in February over the weekend. NIS America has not confirmed this so we’ll mark it as a rumor right now, but I wouldn’t put a pass to a delay. Remember Puchi Puchi Virus?

It looks like that PS3 to PSP connectivity will add quite a bit of features to those of you who own Resistance 2 for the PS3 and buy Resistance Retribution for your PSP. This video walks you through some of the features which are broken down into two different modes: Infected mode will allow you to connect the PSP shooter to the PS3 shooter and infect the main character with the Chimeran virus. Once infected the lead will have a new look, new abilities, new weapons and the game itself will get new dialog because people will react to your infection. Plus mode will let you use a Playstation 3 controller to play the entire game on your PSP. That means dual analog sticks, and because of that the game will be made a bit harder and, of course, aim assist will be turned off. I love how ownership of both games gives you two new ways to play the game, though it would have been nice to support the PS3 controller option for everyone, not just people who own both games.

If you've developed a number of withdrawal-related symptoms due to going a week without purchasing any new duds for your pint-sized, texturized LittleBigProtagonist, fret not -- the end of Media Molecule's DLC hiatus draws near. According to the latest edition of "Sack it to Me", MM's regularly scheduled weekly updates to LittleBigPlanet will resume on January 22 -- updates which they claim will contain "big surprises." Singstar ABBA-based DLC, confirmed?
In addition to their weekly DLC dispatches, they're apparently working on a patch to fix some issues that players are experiencing after version 1.07 of the game went live. No rush on that one, guys -- disappearing save data isn't that big of a deal.

Dragula has today released the first Homebrew game using the Gripshift exploit, heres the details:
It just feels wrong when a hello world is not followed by pong, so I made a simple one (still needs a bit more work).
If anyone cares it’s called GripShift Pong v1.0
There’s no sound yet because, I have no reference to the sound function yet.
I recycled some code from the hello world example, and just coded pong off of that.

Art has posted a new release of his game Powernoid for the PSP:
Hi Guys,
This game is my homage to the Amiga family of computers.
Powernoid is a breakout clone with powerups based on Megaball for the Amiga,
which also later inspired DX-Ball for Windows.
This update will likely be the last for this game since I think it's realised what
I wanted it to be from the beginning. It's only a fairly small update, but important bug fix.
Released with full source.

The Fusa Team who are the makers of the software that allows better playback on TVS than Sony allows with their firmware have posted this news:
Here is some news about new GfX-Filter
It isn't completed yet, but it produces nice picture
You can compare FS2 and FS4 - GfX-Filter
Current FS2 (which was added since build 45)
It uses a lot of CPU power and picture is, as you can see, a little but chopped
Now compare with FS4 w GfX-Filter (hardware!)
Well...
It almost don't use CPU, everything is doing by GPU
And the picture is smooth enough
It's the thing I'm currently working on hope I won't fail
So if I succeed with it, we'll got new amazing FS
Betatesters, be ready

A japanese coder has released Windows Drivers for the Dualshock 3 PS3 Controllers and they also support sixaxis too and even cooler is the fact they support rumble too:
There are 4 drivers in total
ds3drv_1.02 - Normal Driver
ds3drv_dx_1.02 - dx driver
SDDriverSetting - utility to tweak some settings
ForceFeedbackDriver - rumble driver, you need to install the first or second driver too
Installation:
download either the first or second driver, then open the device manager and search for the dualshock/sixaxis under hid devices, it should be called USB Human Interface Device
then choose update driver and select the driver that you just downloaded
Rumble
to install the rumble driver just right click on the .inf file and choose install
when you'll start a game you'll see a tray icon used to tweak rumble settings, the first menu option is to toggle rumble the second one will open a window where you can set the strength of the force feedback
the first value is the amplification ratio
the second one is the minimum value at which to start the small motors
the third and fourth one are the value of the large motors
the last value is probably the maximum strength

News/release from Codetactics
Apollonia (this game's working title) means "Destroyer", the femanine version of the Greek name Apollo. It seemed an appropriate name for an AH-64 helicopter and it also seemed like an original name until we found out that Apollonia Vitelli-Corleone was a character in the famous Godfather movie.
This game is essentially a tribute to the old Desert/Jungle Strike games for the Sega Mega Drive and PC (see wikipedia). Apollonia was made specifically for the PSP, as it seems a worthy platform to give these games justice. (I could never get Jungle Strike running under emulation on PSP, so we made our own).
At the moment, other platforms are straight ports of the PSP version (and thus use the 480x272 screen size), but more native functions will come in future releases.

News/release from Moonlight
It is here finally. Note that the library is incompatible with old version. Now all Add function return a pointer (an opaque type), not an integer. Intrafont.prx has also changed slightly, so make sure to use new intrafont.prx.
There are two version of the library, one with png support, and other without it. The one with png support additionally exports png and zlib functions in vlfutils.
Plans for future versions are like this:
1.1 C++ and D oop wrappers, add some missing functions and add other style to central menu,
2.0 Sound support, fix position bugs, and implement messagedialog natively.
There may be other versions in between. Also at some point I will look at how the new waves are drawn, it is not a gmo model.

News/release from goumba
Well it took me a long time to get you the last release, 0.6, so I've wasted no time in making some progress in bringing you 0.7.0. In all of its improved goodness:
For those of you unfamiliar with Sabacc, its a card game played in the Star Wars universe, with a little of Poker and a little of Black Jack game play. It's probably a bit more involved than that, maybe someone can provide a better description. I know how to play, not how to describe.
Version 0.7.0a
* Fixed: Completed transition to PSP dialogs.
Version 0.7.0
* New: Card face names and suites are rendered using Peter Schuster's New Aurebesh. I can't find any license info online, hopefully it's ok for me to use it.
* New/Fixed: Some dialog changes.
* Fixed: Misc. bug fixes.
