Hi, here is a small homebrew that I presented on pspsgen, which has not been very successful. I thought that here it might be useful to people, and I just want to present it.
A small copy and paste the presentation on PSPGEN:
Quote:
HBD is a software developed for easy downloading and / or updating of Homebrew without having to go through a PC.
A website specially designed for the PSP will see the day ( "beta" version available). This site includes several Homebrew install with HBD.
You can of course make your Homebrew compatible with HBD, in doing so please see the ReadMe included in the download below.
For the use of HBD, refer to the readme.
Thank you for all your poster and your bug homebrew application to upload here.

The rumor about a PSP port of Strikers 1945 Plus was on the mark. Strikers 1945 Plus is in the PSP pipeline, but strangely it’s only announced for Asia. Perhaps, this is a Korean release trickling over.
I wouldn’t worry about a language barrier since Strikers 1945 Plus is a shooter, a rather obscure shooter that a handful of people will be happy to see get an official home release. As long as you understand the phrase “Crush the Enemy” you should be able to play this without any problems!
Beyond the Strikers 1945 Plus Port the door is open for other Psikyo shooters like Dragon Blaze and the hilarious Space Bomber - a vertical cute ‘em up where you blast a giant trash can

Your mission is to rebuild your career and revive the New San Vanelona skate scene. You have to take back the city ... one spot at a time.

Sony is in serious trouble and plans to announce details of a restructuring plan soon. The company is expected to confirm its first operating loss in 14 years and reports have circulated that it plans to close plants and, possibly, even whole divisions.
The Financial Times reports that Sony CEO Howard Stringer is facing serious resistance from the 'old guard' in Japan to fix (or save, depending on your perspective) the company. Certainly one of the more interesting pieces coming out of the alleged plan, is that Stringer wants to shift Sony's focus from hardware to software. If true, the PlayStation brand, along with Sony Computer Entertainment, would presumably be the main benefactors of such an upheaval.

Lest we forget our history, my GDmag coworker Jeff reminded me that almost everything Kaz Hirai is saying about the PS3 was previously said about the Saturn. Take note of the quote I linked below. Now read this statement from the aforelinked Saturn whitepaper: "This growth won't be possible on competing systems that offer a simpler architecture. It may be easier in some ways for developers to create programs for the competition because there's less to learn and work with from a technology standpoint -- but that means that developers are much more likely to run up against the limits of the system in a short span of time. The simpler structure of competing architectures also increases the chance that games will be "ported" from other systems (other game systems or even personal computers), which results in games that are generic and not optimized for performance and special features.
In contrast, the sophistication of the Sega Saturn pays off for both developers and consumers alike over the long term. Developers will continue to discover new ways to wield their creative talents, and game players will have an ongoing supply of new, inventive, out-there, beyond-cool titles for their Sega Saturn systems. "
That kind of logic is destined for failure. At the same time the Saturn is one of my favorite systems ever. Does this mean the PS3 will eventually be one of my favorite systems? The industry has changed enough that developers no long really "choose" a console, but rather develop somewhat agnostically and port as they can. The current climate does not seem conducive to the kind of quirky hardware differentiation of times past. So with that in mind, Sony had better learn from the past, of the ghost of Sega will come and have its revenge!

EA has said the PS3 version of Red Alert 3, dubbed the Ultimate Edition, will be here in March.
Extras will include five new multiplayer maps as well as loads of videos and trailers. There's some sort of Girls of Red Alert 3 special, plus bloopers footage, documentaries, development diaries and more.
There's even some BattleCast PrimeTime episodes packed in with online multiplayer tips and advice. Rounding off the Ultimate Edition are full profiles of all the game's units plus the official soundtrack.
Interestingly, David Seeholzer, the PS3 development boss, claims this version will have better graphics and performance than presumably Xbox 360 and PC.
Bizarrely, that's all he said about the matter, so we've put the question to EA UK to chase up.
Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 launched on Xbox 360 (review) last December, and on PC (review) last November. Both turned out decent, and the former in particular took a significant leap forward at making RTS controls feel at home on console.
Most of the headlines surrounding the game were made by the numerous stars dramatising the intervening FMV story sequences, including Hollyoaks pin-up Gemma Atkinson.
We sent roving reporter Ellie Gibson to talk to Gemma Atkinson (on camera) about being in a videogame, which she did, adding her own inimitable brand of questioning along the way. Ellie also spoke to my hero Tim Curry.
In fact, so chatty was our Miss Gibson that she soon found herself trading blows with former Neighbours sizzler Holly Valance, who stars in Red Alert 3 expansion Uprising.
That game, incidentally, will be released exclusively for PC this March. Console versions will presumably follow.

Sony's excuse for the relatively dismal sales of the PS3 is that it's a "ten-year" console, so it's just ramping up. But Ars took a hard look at that claim, and it doesn't hold up.
Essentially, when you look at the numbers, the PlayStation 2 is a true 10 year machine. And that's because it really came out of the gate swinging, killing the Dreamcast and setting itself up with a huge number of exclusive games. Combined with a low price point, the PS2 really owned the last generation.
But the PS3 has none of that going for it. With few exclusives, seriously stiff competition, and a super-high price point, it's not set up with the momentum to last 10 years, especially not without a concurrent next-gen system, such as the PS3 is to the PS2.
In the end, the "ten-year plan" is, like most things that come from executives mouths, marketing speak and BS. Sure, the PS3 will be around for its 10th birthday, but the PS4 will have been out for a while by that point.

Ubisoft has given first-person disaster-survival title I Am Alive an enigmatic March release window. That puts the launch anywhere from six to ten weeks from now, a very short amount of time considering we've seen approximately zilch in terms of gameplay footage. After being hyped up so much at E3, there's been little to no promotion for the game. We're a bit perplexed by this one, and hope it's not a foreboding sign.
Other games slated to come out in March include Tom Clancy's HAWX, a PC version of EndWar and Broken Sword Wii. Tenchu: Shadow Assassin, a Wii exclusive, has been given a more exact March 6 date.

While sales figures of single platform titles for Nintendo and Microsoft prove there's room for exclusive games on their respective home consoles, three of the biggest single format releases for Sony's PS3 show poor sales in the US.
NPD data reported by Gamasutra shows that Media Molecule's LittleBigPlanet only sold 611,000 copies in 2008, since it was first released in late October.
By contrast, Microsoft's Xbox 360 exclusive Gears of War 2, released almost two weeks after LittleBigPlanet in the region, sold 2.31 million copies by year end.
North American sales of Insomniac's Resistance 2 reached 385,000 units in November, but dropped off 45 per cent during December to 213,000 copies, to bring full-year sales to 598,000.
Konami's Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots sold 775,000 copies in its first month of sale in the US, but after the June launch has managed to sell an average of 50,000 units per month to bring full year sales to 1.076 million units, although this figure does not include software included with the official console bundle.
The numbers also make grim reading for third party publishers, even with properties attached to more than one console.
Eidos' recent admission that the latest Tomb Raider game had not met expectations resulted in lay-offs and a drop in share value. NPD data shows that Tomb Raider: Underworld sold only 246,000 copies in the US in 2008, across all three home consoles.
Ubisoft's Prince of Persia has fared better. The game was only released in December in a bid to avoid the new release crunch that so often affects sales in October and November, and NPD numbers reveal the game sold 483,000 copies in 2008. However, last year's Assassin's Creed managed to sell 1.87 million units in 2007 although it was released earlier in the year on November 14.

Sony's announced that it has released a new firmware update for the PSP – although it's a threadbare revision for the handheld.
Details of what's on offer are scarce, beyond a statement on the PlayStation blog proffering that it enables improved software stability on certain features.
For anyone keeping the score, it's version 5.03.
This update kills off the gripshift exploit, so no homebrew for psp3000 users who install new firmware.

Dark Alex is back with a new custom firmware for the PSP, heres the release details:
Here, the quick fix.
5.00 M33-6
----------
This update is a try to fix memory stick low speed since 3.80.
Instructions: Copy UPDATE folder /PSP/GAME/ and run.
If you come from a version prior to 5.00 M33, put sony update as 500.PBP in same folder, or let the program download it for you using a wifi connection.
Changes in 5.00 M33-5:
- A setting has been added to recovery, that, when enabled it may increase memory stick reading speed. (only on the psp, not in the pc).
By default it is disabled. If you installed 3.71 fatmsmod, do not use this setting, as its perfomance with 3.71 driver has not been tested.
Instead, reinstall 5.00 m33-4 using dc8 and update to 5.00 m33-5
Changes in 5.00 M33-6:
- Fixed a bug that made unbootable psp without memory stick or with a bad one.
The included file fat_comparison.html contains a comparison of perfomance between the 5.00 fat driver, the 3.71 one, and the 5.00 one with the speed up hack during the read of an iso.
The test was done on the game Valkyrie Profile in cso format in march33 mode. Other games, modes and applications different than iso reading showed similar results.

If you've been pining for new ways to harness the Cell processor to achieve Maximum Photo Viewing Awesomeness™, the incoming PlayStation 3 firmware update (version 2.60) will satiate your wanton cravings with the aptly titled Photo Gallery. Joking aside, we're impressed by the sheer number of sorting options, including a few oddballs like the relative age of depicted people or the number of smiles. For a better picture of how the app works, check out the video after the break.
Firmware 2.60 also adds DivX 3.11 support -- a blessing for those of you who still have ripped movies from 1999. Additionally, non-PSN members will be able to access the PS Store to browse for demos and other free goodies. According to the official PS blog, the update is "coming soon."
