R.U.S.E. will make use of PlayStation Move, Ubisoft has revealed at a press event in London.
It is the latest in a line of products aimed at core gamers that makes use of PlayStation Move. It further backs up SCEE President Andrew House’ claim that Move will be ideal for core games such as SOCOM.
However, there are no plans to add support for Microsoft’s Kinect. R.U.S.E. senior producer Mathieu Girard told Eurogamer that having to stand while playing Kinect was a stumbling block.
There is so far only a smattering of core games currently being worked on for Kinect, with the majority of the games aimed at the fitness, family and casual audiences.

Wearing glasses to play games in 3D "will always be a problem", the creator of classic adventure series Monkey Island and upcoming downloadable title DeathSpank has said.
Ron Gilbert, who has worked on some of the most-loved titles of all time, reckons 3D gaming will only become popular when tellies that can display 3D without gamers having to wear glasses are released.
"I didn't see the 3DS, so I can't tell you about that specifically," Gilbert told Eurogamer in an interview published today.
"I know that I hate 3D movies. I find them disturbing. Although I did see a demo of somebody playing World of Warcraft in 3D, which I thought was pretty cool. So I don't know. I haven't had enough experience with it and the games to really know.
"I do know wearing a pair of glasses as you play a game is going to be a big problem. Maybe, down the road, when TVs can do 3D without glasses and all of those things, I think that's when you might see it become popular. But I think wearing the glasses is always going to be a problem."
Last week president of Sony's Worldwide Studios Shuhei Yoshida defended 3D glasses, saying: "If you really want a big theatre experience, of course you have to wear glasses.
"With the latest technology, the glasses are light and you kind of forget you're wearing them after a while."
Sony went big on big-screen 3D at E3 2010 last month. At its press conference specs-wearing attendees were treated to a live gameplay demonstration of Killzone 3 running in 3D. And you might have seen adverts for 3D-enabled Sony televisions doing the rounds, too.
Gilbert was chatting to Eurogamer to discuss DeathSpank, which is most definitely not 3D enabled. It will be available for download on 13th July on the PlayStation Network for $14.99, and 14th July on Xbox Live Arcade for 1200 Microsoft Points (£10).

Number crunching firm NPD has revealed that Alan Wake sold just 145,000 units during the month of May in the US.
The heavily marketed Xbox 360 exclusive finished eighth overall on the software chart. The game had been on sale for exactly two weeks when the numbers were collected.
Split/Second: Velocity was released on the same day but missed out on a top 10 finish. Black Rock and Disney's racer notched just 86,000 sales during the two-week period.
Worse were numbers for Bizarre and Activision's racer Blur, which sold 31,000 units. The numbers represent five days of sale but are low nonetheless.
Even Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands struggled, managing to shift only 100,000 units across five platforms in two weeks.
Region leader Red Dead Redemption put those performances into perspective. Released on 18th May, Rockstar's Wild West triumph sold 946,000 copies on Xbox 360 and 564,000 copies on PS3.
"What I found interesting about Red Dead is that it is the second game in the franchise," commented NPD's Anita Frazer. "First game got middling review scores and sold good but not great - 920K life-to-date.
"I applaud it when a publisher can take a franchise with solid results and improve on it significantly next time out the gate."

The Lavalit Team have released a new build of Openbor for the Dreamcast, Dingoo, PSP, Gp2x, Wii and Wiz.
OpenBOR is a continuation of Beats Of Rage originally created by the wonderful
folks over at http://www.senileteam.com
History
----------------------
As fans of the 'Streets of Rage' series that originally appeared on the SEGA
megadrive/genesis, we always wanted to see streets of rage 4. But the waiting
proved futile, and streets of rage 4 never came. That's why we tried to correct
this mistake and fill the void by making the ultimate tribute to Streets of Rage:
Beats of Rage!!
Development
----------------------
Beats of Rage was created by Senile Team. However, the character sprites and
some parts of the backgrounds are taken from 'the King of Fighters' games by
SNK Playmore. Therefore special thanks go out to SNK Playmore and SEGA who
unknowingly helped in creating this game.
Beats of Rage and OpenBOR are a free, fully functional game, which includes
music, and features six playable levels plus a bonus level. It is available
for many systems

Atlus, it seems, has plans to release most of their localized PSP games in Oceania. We just dug up a rating for Knights in the Nightmare by the Classification Board.
Earlier, we discovered ratings for Shin Megami Tensei: Persona and Hexyz Force. All three games list Atlus USA the applicant even though they don’t have a local office. While Atlus hasn’t said anything, we’re still betting on PlayStation Network downloads.
Strangely enough, Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 Portable, which comes out in North America tomorrow, has not been outed by the Classification Board yet.

Sega is planning a special edition of Black Leopard: Yakuza New Chapter, its PSP Yakuza spinoff. Actually, perhaps it's more accurate to say that Toshihiro Nagoshi is planning the special edition. The "Toshihiro Nagoshi Produce Premium Box" bears the producer's signature in gold on the front of the package, suggesting who the real star of the Yakuza games is.
Inside the Nagoshi-approved packaging is a crocodile skin (patterned) PSP case, a cleaning cloth, and a UMD of the theme song, "Muppet" by Rize. It'll be out in Japan, along with the normal disc and PSN releases, on September 22.

Hulu has confirmed that PS3 user will NOT need to be PlayStation Plus subscribers in order to get Hulu Plus on their console.
Techie investigators digging through the source code of the Hulu Plus page found instructions on how to get the service up and running on Sony's console. Within that tutorial it apparently specifically said: "Note: you must be a subscriber of the Playstation Plus Network."
Hulu and Sony were staying hush at the time, but Hulu has now come out to confirm: "The Playstation Plus service is only a requirement during the preview period."
Hulu is currently in its beta-style preview period, although as Joystiq reports, the Hulu App is not available to every PS Plus subscriber.
Hulu says: "Once the preview period ends you should be able to download the Hulu Plus app but that will still require the Hulu Plus subscription. Right now we are limiting the number of users but Hulu Plus will be launching to the public very soon so stay tuned."
Hulu is a US-only TV streaming service. It's expected to go live to the PS3 public some time this month.

EA has only revealed 20% of FIFA 11's new features, reckons PSM3 magazine.
Reporting on its latest hands-on with this year's instalment, the mag reveals that EA's hinted an all new tackling system could be implemented.
"Overall [FIFA 11 is] a bit slower and more considered, and very physical," it says. "EA have only revealed 20% of the new features, and [producer David] Rutter hints a new jostle/tackle system is yet to be announced."
On its hands-on time, PSM3 says: "Time on the ball felt scarce, so technique players really make a difference with one-touch passes in busy midfields
"The new Personality Plus system makes players feel more individual - true since we had more joy twisting at speed with Arshavin than Van Persie, although both were top players."
Sounds good. Among the "20%" of new features we know about are improved graphics, customisable audio, "massively" improved player AI and 'footballer personality'.

Sony has revealed the launch line-up for the PlayStation Move motion controller in Japan, with six titles available from day one rather than the 16 of the American launch.
The Japanese launch is due to take place on October 21, a month after the U.S. debut on September 19. Despite this delay fewer games will be available for the system initially, with website Andriasang confirming only the following:
EyePet (SCEJ, ¥3,980/$45)
Sports Champion (SCEJ, ¥3,980/$45)
Beat Sketch (aka Sing and Draw, SCEJ, ¥2,980/$34)
Fure! Fure! Bowling (aka High Velocity Bowling, SCEJ, ¥1,900/$22)
Machi Suberi (aka Kung Fu Rider, SCEJ, ¥3,980/$45)
Big 3 Gun Shooting (aka Time Crises: Razing Storm, Namco Bandai, ¥6,279/$71)
The already available Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition will also have a patch available from day one for Move support.
The U.S. line-up has yet to be finally confirmed, but is known to include at least 16 titles. The only game currently exclusive to the Japanese line-up is Beat Sketch, previously known as Sing and Draw.
Titles planned for release after the Japanese launch include:
Mugen Kairo Hikari to Kage no Hako (aka echochrome ii, SCEJ, November, ¥3,980/$45)
Nikudan (aka The Fight: Lights Out, SCEJ, November, ¥3,980/$45)
Move de Party (aka Move de Party, SCEJ, November, ¥3,980/$45)
TV SuperStars (SCEJ, December, ¥3,980)
Furi Furi! Sarugetchu (aka Ape Escape, SCEJ, 2010, price TBA)
Sorcery (SCEJ, 2011, price TBA)
Tower (SCEJ, 2011, price TBA)
The Shoot (SCEJ, 2011, price TBA)
Heroes on the Move (SCEJ, 2011, price TBA)
Move-compatible versions of Killzone 3, Hustler Kings and Heavy Rain are also confirmed for release but have no specific date.
Basic pricing for the Move system was revealed at Sony's pre-E3 media briefing in June. This included a Starter Pack including a controller and the PlayStation Eye camera, with the Japanese version of the bundle including game Beat Sketch for ¥5,980 ($68).
The Japanese launch will also offer two extra game hardware bundles. The first is for Capcom's Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition and will include a Move controller, PlayStation Eye camera and a copy of the game for ¥7,980 ($91).
A second bundle with Namco Bandai's Big 3 Gun Shooting (so-called because it contains coin-op conversions of Time Crisis 4, Razing Storm and Deadstorm Pirates) will cost ¥11,980 ($136) and includes a controller and the Move Shooting Attachment.
A "PlayStation Move Omniverse" demo disc will also be give to free with purchases of any hardware bundle or controller, although its contents have not yet been revealed.
Although the European launch for PlayStation Move has been confirmed for September 15, a few days before the U.S., few other details have yet been made official. However, UK retailers have begun advertising the basic controller for around £40 and the Starter Pack for between £50 and £60, though they continue to shift their pricing.

New versions of the PlayStation 3 are due to reach the Japanese market on July 29.
The CECH-2500 series ships with hard drive capacities of either 160 or 320 Gigabytes, which will retail for ¥29,980 and ¥34,980 respectively, according to Andriasang.com.
The 160 GB model will be available in both the standard Charcoal Black and the new, Wii-like Classic White.
A range of white peripherals are to accompany the launch, including DualShock 3 controllers and vertical stands.
The existing 120GB model, which was formerly retailed at the same price as the new 160GB unit, will switch to open pricing as of tomorrow - often a sign that an SKU is to be gradually phased out.
Sony has confirmed to GamesIndustry.biz that the new models are currently for the Japanese market only, with nothing to announce for European and American markets for now.

Sony is working on a new secret PlayStation concept, Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida has revealed.
The project - most likely to be the long-awaited 'PSP2' - is being created in full collaboration with Sony's studio network.
Yoshida told Develop: "When Ken Kutaragi moved on and Kaz Harai became the president of SCE, the first thing Kaz said was, 'get Worldwide Studios in on hardware development'.
"So he wanted developers in meetings at the very beginning of concepting new hardware, and he demanded SCE people talk to us [developers]."
When asked if the approach applied to new hardware already being created, he added: "Yes, we are undergoing many activities that we haven't yet been talking about in public. Some future platform-related activities."
CVG revealed earlier this year than Sony Computer Entertainment had filed a trademark in the US under the name of 'Playview'.
The filing described the trademarked device as a: 'Portable electronic device for receiving and reading text and images and sound through wireless Internet access and for displaying electronically published materials, namely, books, journals, newspapers, magazines, multimedia presentations.'
However, it added that the product would handle 'Computer game software recorded on optical discs'.

Half Byte Loader, developed by wololo and his team continues its meteoric rise and returns in a brand new version. The compatibility is improved ( PSP 1.56 Counter strike is playable for example), and their painstaking work will soon enable network support.
For those who missed the train, a short summary is necessary: HBL is a loader which, over all models of PSP (GB included ) to firmware 6.20, enjoy the many proposed homebrew on the console.
Quick Reminders :
- It is in any case possible to run commercial games in HBL
- Sony has recently released Version 6.30 of its firmware , which removes the fault Patapon 2 , making it impossible to execute unsigned code .
To take advantage of the loader , you must download and install:
- Patapon 2 demo ( directory " UCUS98734 " in " PSP / GAME ")
- the achievement patapon 2 (directory " UCUS98732_DATA02 " in " PSP / SAVEDATA "
- the loader (HBL " h.bin "and directory " hbl "to the root )
- homebrew compatible (in the directory PSP / GAME )
Once the hack correctly installed , simply run the demo Patapon 2, to "continue " and select the backup hacked . Once the backup and the level loaded , pressing the R button will start the loader .

Square Enix has told Eurogamer that PSP game The 3rd Birthday is coming to Europe.
Previously the game had been confirmed only for the US.
When The 3rd Birthday will arrive here, however, remains unknown.
The 3rd Birthday is the third game in the Parasite Eve series. It doesn't share the canonical name because 3rd Birthday is a spin-off.
So, whereas Parasite Eve was a survival-horror, The 3rd Birthday prefers being a shooter.
The idea appears to be shooting monsters while jumping from body to body, a bit like Agent Smith in The Matrix.

It seems unlikely that Sony's PSP will follow the Nintendo 3DS into the ranks of the naked-eye handheld 3D consoles. At the recent E3 games convention Sony Computer Entertainment boss Kaz Hirai revealed to Japanese publication Sankei Biz his thoughts, saying: "naked-eye 3D for portables does not have high precision, and at present there are limitations," although he didn't comment on Nintendo's 3DS itself.
Meanwhile, Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata has hinted that the successor to the Wii will be a 3D-compatible console but doesn't think that the glasses-free 3D technology adopted by the 3DS is currently suitable for big screen TVs.
Certain distance
"With parallax barrier technology the LCD must be a certain distance away from the screen. It also needs a certain viewing angle. We think it is not a great match for the home TV set," Iwata told VentureBeat.
"As one of the engineers, I can anticipate that someone will invent a 3D TV that does not require you to wear 3D glasses. As far as today is concerned I do not think they can do it well. We need an invention to make it happen. If you ask me when, I have no idea."

31 per cent of Japanese consumers are considering purchasing a 3D TV, according to a survey by Kakaku.com.
67 per cent of the 8957 people asked claimed to not be interested in buying a 3D-capable set, in a survey which ran during the week of Sony's various 3D gaming and movie reveals ahead of and at E3. The survey was purely online, which may suggest it only reached technologically-inclined consumers.
"Television makers' expectations for 3D are high but looking at the degree of interest among consumers, there is a big gap with the enthusiasm of manufacturers," said Tsuyoshi Kamada, head of Kakaku.com's media-creative section.
Of those who did not plan to acquire a 3D TV, some 70 per cent bemoaned the hassle of 3D glasses, 57 per cent the price, and 40 per cent a perceived lack of content.
The 31 per cent figure tallies roughly with a CEA survey suggesting that 27 per cent of US 'avid gamers' were considering the purchase of a 3D TV.
A prior survey, highlighted by Sony at its recent 3D press events, claimed 40 per cent of TVs will be 3D by 2014.
