One of the oddest games ever created is to make a comeback: Sega has announced that Seaman 2 is in development for the PlayStation 2.
Dreamcast owners will undoubtedly remember the original Seaman, which essentially consisted of a talking human-headed fish (clearly inspired by Monty Python's Meaning of Life) which could understand and respond to words delivered by players to a bizarre gamepad controller with a built-in microphone. Seaman 2, according to reports, will feature a Chinese caveman, who will be able to understand entire phrases rather than individual words.
If your Japanese is better than ours, you'll want to head to the Seaman 2 site, where you will find a big picture of a caveman, as well as several human-headed amphibians which may well also feature in the game. Apparently, Seaman 2 will work with the original controller - the official site features a downloadable utility which lets owners use their Seaman controllers with Windows - as well as the PS2's USB microphone. If we dig out any more details at the Tokyo Games Show this week, we'll share them with you.

No new console would be complete without a top-ranking beat-em-up, and the PlayStation 3 will have the latest incarnation of Sega's pioneering 3D punch-and-kick legend, Virtua Fighter 5. Although not, it seems, at launch - Sega's quoting a ship date of spring 2007, which could, admittedly, make it a launch title in Europe.
Can't wait that long? Well, you're going to have to, but while you do, you can build up your anticipation further by casting your eyes over these screenshots. Sega is promising that VF5 will boast a host of enhancements, including two new characters - Mexican wrestling champion (so expect a gimp mask) El Blaze and Chinese Monkey Kung Fu expert Eileen - and an "Offensive Move" technique that allows players to move around their opponents. Players will also be able to compete in the game for prizes, which they'll be able to exchange for items at the in-game shop.

A full console version of the second iteration of the mercury-manoeuvring puzzle game should arrive before Christmas
Mercury Meltdown, the puzzle game in which you control a blob of virtual mercury, is coming to the PS2: Ignition Entertainment (and European distributor Atari) has announced that the full console version of the PSP game, called Mercury Meltdown Remix, will arrive in time for this Christmas.
Mercury Meltdown Remix will feature 12 labs (the game's equivalent of game worlds), two of which are exclusive to the PS2 and over 200 levels.

The first gorgeous Devil May Cry 4 screenshots have swung, shot and slashed onto the internet, which should have series fans hugging their monitors with delight, contemplating the latest instalment of Capcom's monster action series.
The screens show off DMC4's two main characters - old hero, Dante and new face, Nero, who basically looks like the former with a prettier face. Action plays out in the city of Fortuna, where playing as Nero you can use your 'Devil Bringer' ability to grapple and re-arrange enemies, and chain-up potentially endless combos. This is certainly one title on our PS3 most-wanted list.
Devil May Cry 4 is due to appear in playable form at the Tokyo Game Show next week, so stay tuned to CVG for fresh media and gameplay details arriving from the Japanese bash.

PSPKOR has released a new version of his LUA clone of the classic Bruce Lee game.
Hello there again, I'm back with an update to my first LUA game Bruce Lua.

Robert A. and Percival have just introduced Snakman, ported for 2.7-2.80 TIFF exploit users. The game, based off original code by Yeldarb, is somewhat of a split between Pacman and Snake: the perfect combination of retro gaming, in my opinion. The 2.7-2.80 TIFF homebrew scene is growing incredibly fast, good work!
Be sure to read the included readme.txt in order to properly utilize this piece of homebrew. Also, TIFF Snakman v0.2 does not properly exit yet, a patch may be released soon to fix this.

I'm still alive
I just wanted to apologise for the lack of updates recently. In between commitments at work and at home I've not had much time to work on Daedalus over the past couple of weeks. Fortunately things are quietening down again so I should have some free time to work on the next release of the emulator this week. Rest assured I'll keep you up to date with all the new developments.

Kajo5 has released a Lua Player Plugin for the awesome IRShell, heres the info:
This is my first try to post somthing so hello everybody.
I created an external EBOOT that loads LUAPLAYER.PBP and automaticly launches the lua script selected in iR Shell.
I made an external EBOOT and did'nt modify the Lua code itself because I think updating and changing Lua versions should be a lot easier now.
I used some of Mondy's code so thanks for that.
Any feedback or anything would be great.

Art has released a new app for the PSP, heres the release details:
Yay!
Audio recording through the Socom microphone saved to file at last
Thanks to lteixeira's audio library of course! To be honest, with all this time he's been able to do this, and holding out, I'd be suprised if he doesn't come up with something much better.
To be honest though, the sample code sux as a stand alone app, and only really demonstrates it's possibilities to other programmers.
I'd like to continue this one, and wrap it in a nice graphic GUI, etc. for now it only records at high quality (a few minutes takes a 20Mb file).
Things To Do:
- Play at normal speed in reverse.
- Extend recording time.
!!!! READ THE README !!!!
Cheers, Art.

SG57 has just released a new, handcoded, ACSII-based space invaders clone, specifically coded with the TIFF exploit in mind, ensuring compatibility for 2.7-2.80 (and 2.0, 2.01, 2.5, 2.6) firmwares. Inspired by the work of Art, and his respective ACSII game in X-Flash, SG57 takes an awesome new perspective to the space invaders concept: simple and fun. He also states that he is working on a few other ACSII-based TIFF games, and plans to release them in the near future. Great work SG57, it's great to see more and more TIFF games popping up!

Those great folks over at GTA Portable.com have posted more Vice City Story News:
Yet again the Vice City Stories listing over at the Internet Movie Database has been updated, revealing more cast members. The newest info should be taken with a grain of salt, as when I submitted Kid Frost as the voice of Diego Mendez last month, I later got an email saying it was approved and added. So basically the new info could have been added by any fan out there.
Also, Gamepro.de has news about Vice City Stories receiving a censorship in Germany and Australia. A few days back I reported about the game receiving an age 16 rating, and listed a few things that might be removed. Well, just like San Andreas (currently unsure about LCS) - VCS will also have some features removed. They include the removal of prostitution, animations of head shots, and not being able to interact with corpses (hitting or kicking them). While they don't report on it, I'm sure pedestrians will also not drop money after you killed them, as it is for the German version of San Andreas. Not surprisingly, they also report that the Australian version will have the same censorship.
DoubleAgent.com posted a slightly different trailer than the one released before. While it's mostly the same, it does feature some new scenes. Chances are this is the one that will be used for the T.V. advertisement, as the San Andreas one was also slightly different to its trailer.

PS3 Virtua Tennis 3 in 1080p
At its press event in Tokyo yesterday, Sega revealed, or rather boasted, that Virtua Tennis 3 runs in 1080p on the PS3. Displaying the game on slick HD sets with 1080p placards next to them, it looked absolutely glorious in high-res.
This makes Virtua Tennis 3 the second PS3 title confirmed to run in 1080p, next to Gran Turismo HD, and demonstrates that third party publishers are able to achieve what's been dubbed the holy grail of full HD. Sony has touted the PS3's ability to render 1080p images as a large benefit over the Xbox 360, which is incapable of generating them at such a resolution.
The quality is greater on PS3. It has now been annouced that it will also run at 1080p
