Our sister site AdJab has discovered a new PSP ad. And it continues Sony's strange fascination with bathroom jokes to promote their handheld. In this ridiculous viral ad for the upcoming Gangs of London, gangs must relieve themselves in order to "mark their territory." Funny or not? You decide.

Thank the portable gaming gods, Wild Arms for the PSP is not a port! Sony Computer Entertainment Japan opened up a teaser website for Wild Arms XF today, and the big revelation at the site is that the game is an original new title. After the Popolocrois port and the Tales of Eternia port, we're sure you can see why we're relieved.
The site provides a couple of additional details on top of this. XF, which is read as "Cross Fire," takes place in the land of Falgaia, the universe common to all Wild Arms games. Media Vision is, of course, heading up development.
Accute web surfers will also notice some English text in the artwork at the above site. We'll leave the speculation to you.
Wild Arms XF was a surprise PSP announcement at Sony's Wild Arms 10th anniversary party, held over the weekend in Tokyo. Specifics on the game were not revealed.

It's been a strange year for fans of THQ's WWE SmackDown series. Though the game had been unveiled at one of its earliest points ever (just prior to E3, which is highly unusual timing for the franchise), new gameplay features and the roster itself have been held back longer than we're used to. In fact, the official lineup announcement has come so late this year that false lists have been popping up all over the Internet for weeks.
Luckily, that long wait has finally come to an end.
Highlighted in our table below are all 51 current superstars and divas that will be fully playable in WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2007. Fans should study it well, as it contains a number of new personalities that have never appeared in a SmackDown game before -- Umaga, The Great Khali, MNM, The Boogeyman, and a number of other fresh faces have all joined a roster that includes a huge number of returning favorites (Triple H, Kane, The Undertaker, Rey Mysterio, etc, etc). As an added bonus, we've even included a list of all the non-playable characters that players will interact with as well. WWE Legends will be unveiled at a later time.
Batista's in again this year, surprised? Nope, we're not either.
Longtime readers of IGN should know exactly what this roster reveal means: that in the coming days, we'll kick off our annual "SmackDown Countdown," which shines the spotlight on all 51 superstars as we approach the game's planned release date in mid-November. Look for it to start rather soon.
But now, without further ado -- here's the official confirmed list of superstars:
CURRENT SUPERSTARS
Batista, JBL, Randy Orton
The Big Show, Jillian Hall, Rey Mysterio
Bobby Lashley, Joey Mercury, Ric Flair
The Boogeyman, John Cena, Rob Van Dam
Booker T, Johnny Nitro, Shawn Michaels

From a Cnet Article:
Well, not quite yet. According to Sony Ericsson's senior vice president of Product and Application Planning, Rikko Sakaguchi, the company "is working on something" (related to the PlayStation phone), although he claims that "the surprise must be kept for the future". Speaking at a media conference in Malmo, Sweden, as part of the company¡¯s upcoming 5th anniversary celebrations in October, Sakaguchi added that the objective was not to create a gaming device but one that integrates both the gaming and communication functions.

Hi,
As the Neo Flash competition has drawn to a close, I thought I'd release the source code for Trigonometry Wars to the public.
Maybe someone out there will find it useful and might create a bigger and better version of the game!
I'm gonna release another update soon, probably by the end of the week, but after that development on this project will slow down.
PM me if you need help getting the source compiling.
Cheers,
71M
p.s. Special Dr.Neo version attached!

Via Gamesradar:
The first batch of screenshots for the PSP version of WWE SmackDown! vs Raw 2007 has recently emerged, showing an impressive-looking scaled down version of the next wrestling ruckus.
While we've had a pretty good look at SmackDown! 2007 on Xbox 360, publisher THQ has been more cagey about showing us the other, less pretty versions of the wrestlefest. A trickle of PS2 screens started in July but, for a long time, there has been no sign of a PSP screenshot - odd, considering it's scheduled to hit stores in November.
But now, with the goods finally in front of us, we can honestly say that the screens look great for a handheld title, with sharp detail on the wrestlers and the ring. Granted, there are a few sacrifices - the crowd looks like a bunch of cardboard cutouts - but one of the shots at least implies that the interactive grapples from the console versions will make it to the PSP version intact.
One thing they don't show, however, is a single new addition to the roster of wrestlers. But we expect that to change real soon.

Creating a universe is a big job, and Sega is taking a mulligan on its Phantasy Star Universe to get the job right. In a letter addressed to Phantasy Star Online users this week, Sega apologized for a series of technical glitches that stymied many users' efforts to play the game online.
The game, which went on sale for the PlayStation 2 and PC in Japan on August 31, suffered problems in its online mode from the outset. When trying to connect online, players were met with various technical issues, incluing blank screens and corrupted character data. As a result, Sega was forced to shut down its servers on the evening of September 3 and is working to fix the problem. Service for testing and troubleshooting purposes is scheduled to resume tomorrow.
The game will formally re-launch in October, and the free 30-day trial included with the game will be calculated from this time. The bad news for early adopters who struggled through the game's issues to play is that "…it is possible that during the testing period, player data will be rolled back or deleted…"

More Download Info via Gamesindustry
Sony’s head of platform development in Japan, Izumi Kawanishi, has stated that the upcoming PSP download service will operate via Wi-Fi-enabled PCs as well as the PS3, and is due this November.
Original PlayStation games will be downloadable and Kawanishi reports the PSP has no problem running them via an emulator, according to an interview with NikkeiBP.
Kawanishi also states that the PSP download service, which is set to include movies as well as full original PlayStation games, is scheduled to launch in conjunction with the PlayStation 3.
With broadband becoming more widespread, Kawanishi explained that digital distribution was a realistic service that the PlayStation 3 could utilise in its role as a central home server - as well as a traditional games console.
Sony declined to offer further comment on Kawanishi's statements.

While everyone was over the moon at the announcement of a next-gen 360 exclusive PES 6, and then possibly also sick as a parrot as it wasn't quite so exclusive, it's easy to forget that the game has prospered for many a long year on what many PES aficionados consider its ultimate platform, the PS2.
The reasons are many and varied, but ultimately our footy experts are agreed it's actually all down to the Dual Shock controller, which so far, has provided the ultimate interface for playing Seabass's annual magnum opus. Of course, this may all change in the next-gen incarnation, but we've spent so many halcyon days on the PS2 version of PES, even the prospect of a next-gen version can't deflect us from what we consider its real home platform.
But enough waffling from us, what you really want to see is PES 6 in action on PS2, so here's a fresh array of shots from our recent session with the game, showing amongst other things ex-Man Utd hitman Ruud Van Nistelrooy banging one in for Holland, Italy's World Cup star Luca Toni unleashing a fierce volley against Argentinean opposition and Michael Owen surging through a packed Dutch midfield (good luck with the op this week fella).
Nice, and in case you missed them first time around, you should also direct eyes right to check out our recent exclusive shots of new England skipper John Terry making his debut in the game. Only a month to wait now before PES 6 arrives - and there goes a whole year of lunchtimes all over again.

We're still twiddling our thumbs waiting for our copies of the first Yakuza to arrive, but already Sega has released a number of screenshots showing off the sequel, which is set to hit the Land of the Rising Sun at the end of the year.
According to highly-respected Japanese mag Famitsu, Super Monkey Ball creator Toshihiro Nagoshi is once again taking the reins for the sequel, which is said to contain over 100 stories and sub quests.
Story-wise, Yakuza 2 kicks off with an assassination, which prompts our hero to head southwards towards Kamurocho, Osaka and other locations across Japan. As well as the original game's returning Japanese voice cast, Yakuza 2 also has a number of new characters, including the game's heroine, Kaoru Sayama, a police officer apparently known as the 'Yakuza Hunter'.
In addition, Famitsu also reveals that Sega's second crime-em-up will feature a "deeper dramatic storyline" and there will be new themes, such as an "adult love story." As long as we still get to beat up fat Japanese gangsters, we're don't really care.
Yakuza 2 is currently penned for release in Japan on December 7th, with the original game landing on our shores next Friday. Look out for a review of the latter very soon.

With just over two months to go until the launch of the PlayStation 3, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has launched a new online campaign to promote the console.
The new website, which has been developed in co-operation with ad agency TBWA, features the slogan 'This is Living' and six 'PS3 stories' - short films designed to reveal more about various aspects of Sony's new machine.
The first film to be released focuses on the theme of real-time. The other films, which cover blu-ray, high definition, cell processing, tilt sensitive control and cinematic production, will follow at two week intervals.
The website also features a new specs page which confirms that, as predicted, the PS3 will not come with a HDMI cable as standard. As previously announced, the console will weigh in at 5kg, feature four USB ports and will be compatible with third-party 2.5 inch serial ATA hard drives.
According a statement issued by Sony, the new 'This is Living' campaign "moves away from conventional 'cryptic' pre-launch campaigns" - such as the 'Third Place' campaign which was used to launch PlayStation 2, complete with a surreal television advert from David Lynch.
"This audience is hungry and savvy - it wants to be inspired and informed, not teased and frustrated," said TBWA's Robert Hardwood-Mathews.
Sony product manager Luke Southern added: "PlayStation 3’s primary audiences are entertainment enthusiasts who spend a lot of time online.
"We want these stories to become the property of the Internet commons - shared, remixed, hosted on YouTube, linked, blogged about - so that they gain their own momentum and inspire the online communities. We want to create a campaign as dynamic as the PS3 itself."
The films, which are said to have been inspired by Phil Harrison's demo of the PS3 at E3, each feature the tagline: "Where the old rules don't apply... PS3." They will also be shown on TV and in cinemas, and the campaign will run across Europe, Australia and New Zealand "until at least November 2006", according to Sony.

North American consumers planning to purchase a 60GB PlayStation 3 will need to purchase a HDMI cable separately if they want to fully exploit the console's graphics capabilities.
That's according to the specs page on the official US PS3 website, which notes: "HDMI cable not included. Additional equipment may be required to use the HDMI connector."
Sony has long promoted the 60GB PS3's HDMI output as a key feature of the machine. The 20GB model, however, does not feature HDMI - and nor does Microsoft's rival Xbox 360 console.
SCE UK declined to comment on whether the 60GB PS3 will also ship without a HDMI cable here. However, sources close to Sony speculate that Europe will follow the US example by not including a cable in the box, due to the fact that the majority of console purchasers will not own a HDMI-ready TV - and those that do will already own a HDMI lead.
Instead, PS3 is highly likely to be sold with a composite cable and SCART adaptor - just like the PlayStation 2.

Sony Japan is set to reduce the price of its PlayStation 2 console in the region, in preparation for the launch of the PlayStation 3 later this year.
The popular home console will retail for 16,000 Yen (108 Euro), coming in to effect on September 15th.
Sony recently reduced the price of the PS2 in Europe, where it now sells for a suggested retail price of 129.99 Euro.

Toshiba has confirmed that the first standalone HD-DVD player to reach Europe will hit the shops on November 15 - just two days before the launch of the PlayStation 3.
Speaking at the IFA consumer electronics show in Berlin, Toshiba's Olivier Van Wynendaele said the first player to go on sale will be the HD-E1, priced at 599 Euro - the same price as the 60GB PlayStation 3. A higher-end model, the HD-XE1, will follow in December, and will retail for around 1000 Euro.
Both players are slimmer than similar models released in the US, where HD-DVD began to roll out in April. They can output from HD-DVD discs at 720p or 1080i, and the HD-XE1 can also output at 1080p.
Toshiba claims to have sold 50,000 HD-DVD players in the US and Japan already, and predicts year-end sales of 200,000. The company plans to ship 10,000 units to Europe for the first phase of launch.
The HD-DVD format is backed by Microsoft, which has already announced plans to release an external drive for Xbox 360 and is expected to do so in time for Christmas.
Sony's rival Blu-Ray technology, however, will be incorporated into the PlayStation 3. The 60GB model will launch alongside a 20GB version, priced at 499 Euro, on November 17.
