Reader Adrian's PS3 is broken and since the console was a gift that didn't come with a receipt, Sony is denying warranty coverage. Where it gets tricky is that there's a "manufactured on" sticker on the back of the machine indicating that it is clearly less than a year old -- meaning that there's no possible way it could be out of warranty coverage. Adrian tried explaining this concept to Sony, but they weren't interested. No receipt. No warranty. When Adrian threatened to switch to XBOX, Sony's only answer was that "their support wasn't much better."

It's update day for the Euro PS Store, and the list of content added is a pretty long one.
Topping the bunch is the expansion pack for PixelJunk Monsters, entitled PixelJunk Eden, adding a new island with fresh levels, and tweaked gameplay to the brilliant Tower Defence-inspired strategy game.
PS1 classic Command & Conquer Red Alert has also been uploaded, rendering the original, released a couple of weeks ago, a complete waste of time and money. But there you go.
And Sony felt this a good time to blast a shed load of new PS3 themes onto the Store too, so good luck with trawling through that lot.

Codemasters has plonked the PS3 demo for Overlord on the PlayStation Store, which is a better place for it than in our pocket.
The publisher also cackled a 20th June release date for the full game, which it is calling an "extra evil" version of what we saw a while back on 360 and PC.
Why? Well, it has all the downloadable updates added to those in the box, such as online co-op, split-screen play, the on-screen mini-map and the Raising Hell expansion.
It should also look rather nice and make use of 7.1 speakers, which is rather a lot of sound.
Overlord, for those unaware, puts you in the boots of a despotic, er, Overlord, who has an army of minions to help him rampage through happy-go-lucky villages littered with helpless innocents.
The more successful you are, the bigger and more elaborate you can make your keep, and the more types of minion you will be able to add to your marauding army.
Its Dungeon Keeper-like delights thrilled us last summer on Xbox 360, so for anyone with half-an-ear for what we just said, this may be for you.

Square Enix plans to unleash Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII here on 20th June.
This is the action RPG that proved monstrously popular in Japan last September. It's set before the events of Final Fantasy VII and has you in the boots of Zack who goes to find some missing people.
Crisis Core was one of the first titles announced for PSP and rightly looks rather pretty thanks to its elongated development. It has a fast-paced battle system, too, which will either make it or break it when we finally get our review-hands on it.

Sony's focus on profitability means a PlayStation 3 price cut is unlikely to happen this year, according to analysts Lazard Capital Markets.
In its recently released end of financial year results, Sony revealed a focus on achieving profitability in its PlayStation brand and rolling out online services, such as PlayStation Home.
As the company's priority in chasing unit market share against rivals Microsoft and Nintendo is lower, a price cut for the PS3 this year is unlikely, said the analyst.
"Console market share appears to be less of a priority; price cut less likely," explained Colin Sebastian of Lazard Capital Markets.
"On its earnings call, Sony management indicated the company is now more focused on achieving profitability in the PlayStation segment... Importantly, management comments also suggest that a price cut is less likely on the PS3 this year, at least in the near term."
Sony recently announced it expects to ship ten million PS3 units worldwide this year, an 8 per cent increase year over year.

Newly released today
Your link with your partner is the key element to victory in this 2D fighter. Choose two from the twenty four main characters from Bleach and form a tag team. Switch from one fighter to the other anytime you want at the expense of your tag gage. When the tag gage fills up completely, launch limit breaks on your opponents' team and be rewarded with a cool, fully voiced video clip. In this limitless condition, your partner and your attacks join together as one, and it is several times more powerful than single limit break.
When you decide to play the game alone, activate the story mode. The scenes and events are modeled loyally after the original manga. The animation from shi-kai to ban-gai are rendered seamlessly for the series's fans' enjoyment.

Activision, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVI) announced today the upcoming release of Cabela's Legendary Adventures for PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system, PSP (PlayStation Portable) system, and Wii. The latest title in the best-selling Cabela's franchise will allow players to relive the greatest hunting stories ever told. The game will hit shelves in Fall 2008.
"In Cabela's Legendary Adventures the missions are based on encounters with some of the most famous animals ever hunted in the wild," said Dave Oxford, Activision Publishing. "Focusing on these amazing once-in-a-lifetime stories has really allowed us to capture the essence of what hunting is all about - a quest for a legendary experience."
Players will hunt in different eras in search of trophies such as white-tailed deer, Yukon moose, Alaskan brown bear and Roosevelt elk in over ten of North America's top hunting locations, including Kodiak Island, the Yukon and the Rocky Mountains. Each location in Cabela's Legendary Adventures is a visually stunning open outdoor environment that encourages exploration and tactical variation. Shooting mechanics have been developed to reflect modern as well as historical hunting technology, so players relive the hunts complete with detail from specific time periods.
Under Cabela's guidance, the firearms, tactics and gear in Cabela's Legendary Adventures are as true to real life as a game will allow. The title will also include a large variety of additional hunts featuring over 30 species of other big game, small game, waterfowl, upland birds and turkey.
Cabela's Legendary Adventures is scheduled for release in Fall 2008. For more information visit www.activision.com.
