News via http://emu-russia.net/en/
Russian GPU plugin for Sony PlayStation emulators has been updated.
Changes:
- added 2x2 renderer;
- added support for gpuPeteOGL2 shaders (higly experimental);
- fixed bug in "Perfect" mode visible area with enabled filters;
- added video recording;
- added save states screenshots support;
- a lot of minor changes and fixes;
- small changes in GUI;
P.S. Please, remove all plugin's old files before installing this plugin.
P.P.S. I think psemupro's interface is obsolete now, as well as some plugin related things. Because of that it's hard to get rid of some flaws.

A Fresno man was sentenced on Friday to life in prison for shooting a 19-year-old to death in a dispute over a PlayStation 2, bringing to a close a tragedy first reported on two years ago.
Jonquel Brooks (pictured at right), a freshman at Fresno State, shot and killed Brant Daniels, 19, and wounded Daniels' friends in the May 2007 incident. Daniels and the others had gone to Brooks' apartment to look for their stolen console. Brooks claimed he acted in self-defense. He surrendered to police after a two day standoff.
Police didn't find any PS2 in his apartment. Regardless, Brooks was found guilty in April of first degree murder and attempted murder. According to the Fresno Bee, Brooks got a total of 109 years and four months - 25 to life for the killing, 25 for using a gun, and 59 years, four months for three counts of attempted murder. It was not specified if those were consecutive or concurrent sentences.
Either way, it's one hell of a lot of hard time over a $100 PS2.

We were sent a tip regarding a new PS3 bundle that Blockbuster was supposedly selling, so we headed on down to our local chain to snoop around. What we found was the above image showing off a PS3 bundle consisting of a 40gb console, Transformers: The Game, Spider-Man 3 Blu-ray, PS3 remote, HDMI cable, and a 12-week rental card (which allows you to rent one movie each week), all for $359.99. What makes this such an odd story, however, is that this bundle isn't offered at every Blockbuster store.
We called another nearby chain and quizzed an employee on his store's bundle. He said that particular store offered a 80gb console, with Transformers: The Game, Click Blu-ray, PS3 remote, HMDI cable, and a 12-week rental card, all for $499.99. So, it would seem that each store has a bit of leeway with its bundle package. If you're in the market for a PS3 and thinking Blockbuster, give them a call before you head down. Both stores we talked to were all sold out.

If you were jealous that we got our greasy, unworthy hands on a 4-player co-op demo of Lost Planet 2 during our ransacking of E3 2009, you can now cool your jets -- according to producer Jun Takeuchi during an appearance on Famitsu's "Midnight Live 360," the same demo is coming to Xbox Live "soon." Actually, Takeuchi's exact words were, "soon, I guess," a sentiment that doesn't exactly fill us with optimism regarding the actual soon-ness of the demo's release.
Takeuchi showcased a number of new features during the Famitsu program, such as computer-controlled bots, custom weapon sets and character customization, which he explained can be done using items you unlock in tandem with certain achievements. We don't know whether any of these features will be present in the demo -- but if it's as similar to the E3 demo as Takeuchi says, it should be radical enough without them.

As recently as May Sony has itself stated that a PSP phone "could happen," and now a report from Nikkei business daily states that Sony is planning on putting together a team as early as next month to build product that would act as a combination of a PSP and a Sony Ericsson handset. It makes plenty of sense, both as a differentiation from Nintendo and as a confrontation of the looming iPhone threat -- and hey, it might also act as a decent salve over the lukewarm reception of the pricey PSPgo. Unfortunately, if Sony is just about to get started on this, we likely wouldn't be looking at any resulting product for a while to come. Sony declined comment according to Reuters, which doesn't mean a whole lot, but it's worth keeping in mind that we've been hearing this sort of rumoring since back when the N-Gage (as a product) was still almost relevant.

Updated release from Xteaph-N
There are lots updates none of which pertain to the battle system. Everything now has collision. All the buildings can be entered. There is a menu in the town only, which is almost done(honestly!). I also changed how all the collisions work, and I've also changed how the camera works. there is also a demo of how speaking to NPC's will work. The battle system has remained untouched.
Also I'm starting to get a good idea of what kind story my game will have, and how everything will work together. I think people will agree that it would be the best direction for my game, that is when I show what it will be.
I highly recommend you guys download this to check out the progress I've made.

News/release from dragon0010
Mkay, so this demo probably wont be completely playable on PSP itself, but it's something that i really want to make happen for future versions. anyway, i decided to make this game after seeing Pokemon Ranger, because it seemed like they had a lot of good ideas in that game, but expanded on them completely wrong. This demo is kind of how i feel pokemon should be, although some things could be improved a lot(like AI, which i really have to find out how to do well).
Controls:
in battle
C(x) = attack one
D(square) = attack two
F(circle) = attack three
R(triangle) attack four
out of battle
C (x) = main select button
F(circle) = back/run
S(start) = start
to start it, run the "Pokemon Demo.bat" file. there's not really a whole lot in this demo, but the three starters are cyndaquil, turtwig, and squirtle. other than that.. i hope you enjoy it.

You've seen the PSP Go on video. You've seen it compared to its older cousin in good, old-fashioned shaky-cam glory, but how about some nice, clean side-by-side comparison shots? Game Watch has you covered with some nice photos that show each device from different angles. Regrettably, you still won't be able to see each device from behind, but that's not really the important side anyway

Sony Computer Entertainment and Microsoft both showed off new motion control at E3 2009 and both appear to have designs on launching those offerings in 2010. And some third party publishers already have Project Natal dev kits.
THQ's Brian Farrell tells G4's The Feed that his company already has Natal development tools. They've had them for four to six weeks, by his estimation. The same can't be said for development on Sony's PlayStation Eye powered motion control tech, which is apparently still in the third-party "discussion" stage.
Sony apparently did say to developers, via a recent dev community bulletin, that "hardware prototypes and support are in extremely limited supply," that it is "prioritizing allocation for those partners likely to be able to deliver a title that makes use of the distinctive features of this controller at its consumer launch." That launch is penciled in for Spring of 2010, a launch that may not include THQ.
On the Natal front, Farrell isn't quite yet ready to discuss what THQ has planned. He doesn't rule out motion controlled content target at core users, but says the camera tech "feels more casual to us at this point."

Do you get the sense that Project Natal is ... missing something? Accessory peddler dreamGear does. The maker of such essentials as the 3-In-1 Player's Sports Kit for Wii, the 7-In-1 Player's Kit for Wii, the 10-In-1 Player's Kit for Wii, and the 15-In-1 Player's Kit for Wii is already hard at work trying to adapt its enhancements for Microsoft's upcoming motion technology release. "One of the biggest challenges for peripherals firms is keeping up with changing technology, particularly the trend toward interactive gaming started by Nintendo and now embraced by Microsoft's Project Natal," dreamGEAR COO Richard Weston explains to MCV. Molding a plastic steering wheel that fits in everyone's hands is a true challenge, you see.
"From all the recent revelations at E3 for Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii, motion sensing devices and add-on accessories for these devices will be the main focus in the future," Logic3's sales manager Paul Croucher frighteningly foretells. So then, the snooker cue attachment for the PS3 wand confirmed? Please, make it STOP.

According to Japan's Nikkei business daily, Sony will next month begin the process of designing a "cellphone-game gear hybrid" which it's hoped will give Apple's iPhone a run for its money.
Apparently a "project team" will be set up next month to build an all-new device that combines the functionality of a Sony Ericsson mobile phone with a handheld gaming device.
In other words, a PlayStation Phone, in spirit if not in name.
Not the first time we've seen one of the these rumours, we know, but the specifics and the source make it by far the most plausible of the lot.

So that "certain premium" for the UMD-less PSPgo? We may gripe about the $230 price tag here, but our friends across the pond might actually have it worse. Right now, while UK gamers are shelling out on average £100 (about $165 US) for a new PSP, the "guide price" for Go is currently set at around £230 ($370 US). Egregious? We think so, and it looks like British consumers might agree, as two independent retailers have reported zero pre-orders so far. Ouch. Of course, it's not indicative of the entire region, especially given there's no data here from the big chains, but as a "canary in a cage" indicator, it still doesn't sound good -- but hey, there's still plenty of time before its October 1 launch, and anything can happen.
