Popular puzzle platformer Limbo is head to Vita, reports IGN. The site says that it "can confirm" that developer PlayDead's eerie adventure is in the works for Sony's portable under the working title 'Project 2'.It makes no mention of any changes or additions the game may receive in the jump to Vita, nor is a release window mentioned.Limbo sees players take control of a small boy in a dark and deadly 2D world, working their way through a series of physics-based puzzles and obstacles. The critically acclaimed puzzle platformer was released via XBLA in July 2010, and remained an exclusive on the system until it released for PS3 almost a year later.

Alice developer believes that interfaces are where the excitement will happen
Outspoken developer American McGee has revealed he was unimpressed by the recent PlayStation 4 announcement, despite its developer friendly approach, and has suggested the future is on mobile.
"I was hoping for innovation in control input. Didn't see anything meaningful, so 'meh,'" he told Forbes.
"It's nice that they're moving towards what looks like more developer-friendly hardware and indie friendly distribution. Remains to be seen if the appearance matches reality. Overall, I think this generation of consoles will struggle painfully against the momentum of mobile/online games we're seeing globally."
He believes mobile is the place where the real excitement is to be found, and that the real revolution will come with new interfaces and devices like the Oculus Rift.
"Ultimately, people are going to choose based on power, size and convenience - and I think we're going to see devices emerging which change their form, function and interface depending on where or for what they're being used. More than anything it's interface that's going to drive the most significant change - things like Oculus Rift will radically change people's demands and expectations - that's where the real revolution is going to start."
"Nothing will be able to compete with full immersion and seamless interface being powered by a processor stack in your pocket."
McGee also defended the recent launches of Diablo III and SimCity, which were beset by connection issues related to their always online set up.
"Do gamers or the media think EA or Blizzard wanted things to go so badly at launch? Do they think all the screaming and gnashing of teeth actually helped resolve those issues more quickly?"
"There's got to be a balance to the relationship. Just because you've given a restaurant your business doesn't entitle you to throwing molten cheese fries in your waiter's face if your margarita comes out frozen instead of on the rocks. People need to relax a little and stop turning everything into World War III - Gamers vs. The Man. There are no winners in that scenario."
McGee's Spicy Horse studio recently completed a successful Kickstarter campaign for its free-to-play title Akaneiro, which will be available online and on mobile.

Sony has revealed that around a third of the games it sells on Vita are digital.
Is that impressive? That’s a matter of opinion. Certainly it doesn’t sound anything special when the thousands of games that are downloaded everyday on iOS and Android are considered.
But from a company transitioning from the physical-led PSP to a new format? Perhaps it’s not that bad.
Speaking to IGN, Sony was keen to press home Vita “satisfaction rates”, with 86 per cent of owners apparently happy with their machines. It also claims that the average Vita owner plays their device for a staggering 18.7 hours every week.
Another surprise – Sony has 100 titles on the Way to Vita in 2013. Again, this pales when compared to iOS but nonetheless does at least suggest that Vita will throughout the year receive the sort of support it needs to build on recent successes.
Still, recent news for Vita has been far more encouraging than what we saw throughout 2012. A recent survey showed that developers have far more interest in making games for Vita than they do the stronger-selling 3DS.
Japanese Vita sales have been on the rise thanks to Sony’s price cut in the territory, while UK boss Fergal Gara reckons Vita enjoyed a strong performance on this side of the globe.

Blizzard has confirmed that the console version of Diablo III will drop real-money auction houses, and won’t require an internet connection to play. That goes for both singleplayer and local multiplayer, while the game has been slightly tweaked with the DualShock in mind. You can see the first evidence of those changes in the footage below, which showcases a game that looks a little more active: there’s a new dodge roll move, and you can move and attack at the same time. Add in rumble and things will feel a lot more hectic.

After nearly five years, the English translation of Suikogaiden Vol. 1: Swordsman of Harmonia is completed.
Suikogaiden Vol. 1 (as well as its sequel Vol. 2) is a PSX visual novel spin-off of the Suikoden series, taking place at the same approximate time as Suikoden II and featuring many of that game’s characters. Suikoden completionists, or anyone interested in the Suikoden world and characters, will find it worth playing.
The translation was completed by an appropriately broad cast of characters, led by rin_uzuki, at the Suikogaiden Translation Project. She got signficant assistance from Niahak and Raww Le Klueze on the translation side, and Rufas, David Holmes and Pokeytax on the coding side - but many others helped get this patch released.

via http://wololo.net/2013/03/23/early-h...80s-2-06-vhbl/
I’m sure many of you are wondering whether to update or not to 2.06 for the upcoming VHBL release. I’ve done some tests with some popular homebrews that should help make it an easier decision.
Below you can find my results testing the compatibility of the more popular homebrews, including some that don’t work with TomTomDu80′s upcoming VHBL release. All of my tests were done on a 2.06 Vita. So far I can confirm that the compatibility with TomTomdu80′s exploit is ok, but not great. Some of the more poplar homebrew are not working. It may or not be able to be improved. I’ve personally been testing with the US version, but compatibility should be the same across all versions. You’ll want to take this into consideration when choosing whether to update or not.
Please remember however that VHBL is a usermode exploit so that means no playing PSP backups, using plugins, CEFs or anything else besides homebrew/emulators.
HOMEBREWS/apps THAT WORK
•Picodrive- Sega Genesis emulator
•PSPFILER- Popular file tool for the PSP
•WAGIC- As always Wagic works, which is due to the fact of it being developed to run in tight environments. Wagic is a heroic fantasy card game, in which you fight as a wizard against the computer.
•CSPSP- Nataku92′s CSPSP homebrew port of the ever-famous Counter-Strike PC title in 2D.
•Cavestory- The popular platformer/Action adventure freeware indie game. (Leaving to Vita OS and returning to game causes no sound)
•Jelly Car- Complete the levels without falling in this crazy car game. The point? You can change the size of your car at will, to avoid falling in holes.
•Ragdoll Cannon- A 2d puzzle game. Shoot the ragdoll guy from the cannon. Hit the target to go to the next level. (Sound issues)
•Vmenu- An alternate menu by developer Neur0n.
•Bookr- A great homebrew app for reading PDF/txt veiwer.
HOMEBREWS/Apps THAT DON’T WORK
For all these homebrews, unless specified otherwise, I am still looking for solutions, so don’t give up hope, but don’t assume they will be compatible when we release.
•DaedalusX64 (N64 Emulator)-Its a shame daedalus doesn’t work. I tried both r777, r790 and R13
•gPSP kai-(GBA Emulator) (Loads but issue with savegame, might be fixable)
•SNES9X TYL (Super Nintendo Emulator)- Black screen
•DOOM- Might be fixiable, some issues seem to occur when loading certain sound threads
•DUKE 3D
•HALO: Revamped
•Slender Portable
•YMENU & PYMENU- Ive tried everything to get these to work, but its a no go.
•Cubic Zombies
•Lamecraft- Failure to generate terrain and errors
•S4inexCraft
•Quake Arcade
•QuakePSP
•Mario Fusion
•HALF LIFE
•NAZI ZOMBIES
•Left 4 Quake
•Atari5200

via http://wololo.net/2013/03/23/ps-vita...bl-on-2-06-is/
Disclaimer: I haven’t tested this VHBL version myself. People who tested it in EU/US version have told me this VHBL compatibility is below average, but compatibility may increase in future releases. As usual, the choice is yours.
Another long wait is over, this is the public announce for the game exploit that will let people run TomTomDu80′s port of VHBL on Vita firmware 2.06. Once again, an army of very dangerous people will start playing 16 bits games on the Vita, putting one of the biggest hardware companies of the world in great danger of bankruptcy. Watch as Sony pulls the game from their stores within 48h, when it took them months to fix an actual security vulnerability on the device
Haha, I kid, I kid, we all know Sony have to pull these games off their stores, who knows if this new game exploit won’t be the vector to an eCFW release at some point… speaking of which, before you go ahead and buy the game, let me go with a disclaimer:
Disclaimer: the vulnerability in the game disclosed below is a user mode exploit in a PSP game. TomTomDu80 has ported VHBL to this exploit on the vita firmware 2.06. VHBL does not let you play pirated PSP games, let alone pirated Vita games. VHBL lets you play a subset of PSP homebrews on your Vita, including a wide range of oldschool consoles emulators. Compatibility of VHBL varies depending on the exploit, and I want to emphasize that I have myself not tested this VHBL port at all. Early reports I have gotten from beta testers is that the compatibility is below average compared to other VHBL releases (with a few annoying bugs such as some crashes when exiting some specific homebrews). As usual, you buy this game at your own risk and with no explicit guarantee from me that this will let you do anything else than, well, actually play that game…
So, here we go, the vulnerability found by TomTomDu80 is in:
Apache Overkill (PSP Mini)
The game is, unfortunately, not available in all PSN stores If you are in a store where the game is not available, it is recommended that you open an account in a location that has the game, acquire a PSN card for that store (some online services sell those, either google them or PM me on /talk if you need help) and use it to buy the game. Please understand that the game availability in your country is not the choice of the hacker.

The 2013 western window for Tales of Xillia is upgraded now to the summertime. Series producer Hideo Baba announced the news on thePlayStation Blog this week, while also revealing 2012 retail release Tales of Graces F is coming to PSN next week on March 26. The Standard edition ofGraces F is priced $34.99, while the Knight edition bundles in over ten pieces of DLC for $54.99.
Meanwhile in Japan, Tales of Xillia 2, released in November, stormed its way to500,000 sales before the end of 2012. Since we're only just finding out when the first Xillia will hit the west, we wouldn't advise raising your hopes of Xillia 2news anytime soon. Having said that, Baba did tease further Tales-related "surprise announcements" this year.

March 24th, 2013, 20:31 Posted By: wraggster
Saints Row developer Volition is not concerned about releasing the fourth installment in its over-the-top open world series mere weeks before the launch of Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto 5 - and believes the genre's now broad enough to support multiple games.Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto 5 was originally slated for release early this year, though that date was put back to 17th September - less than a month after Saints Row 4's projected release on 20th August."Yeah, it's a big one, and we talk about it a lot," Volition producer Jim Boone told Eurogamer. "Obviously when they announced their date and it was so close to us - that was an interesting phenomenon. But honestly, the way that we tend to look at it is that here's this huge game that's coming out at the same time and it's going to sell a tonne. We know that, and it's unfortunate from that standpoint."But the thing we feel good about in general is that we're such a different game to what they are. If we were stylistically similar to the first Saints Row, I'd be horrified right now. Saints Row the Third came out the same time as Assassin's Creed, but the games are so different in terms of what they do."The genre's matured enough where you can have all these different styles and still be an open world game and be different. So I look at GTA 5 and think there's this massive game coming out, but I don't think with our superpowers and alien invasions that no-one will be comparing us to them."

The console version of Diablo 3 may not be restricted to PlayStation. The game has so far only been confirmed for PS3 and PS4 releases, with no mention of a version for Xbox. But when quizzed on the game's exclusivity to Sony consoles, lead designer Joshua Mosqueira told Penny Arcade, "We don't have any announcements to make at this time, but we're not necessarily a Sony exclusive."It has also been confirmed that the console port will allow for offline play - something which the PC version does not - and single-screen multiplayer."We really felt that playing offline, and being able to move your console from the living room to your bedroom, which a lot of players do to play, is really important," said Mosqueira.Blizzard today released a gameplay video for Diablo 3 running on PS3 to coincide with the console port's playable appearance at PAX East.

The Battlefield 4 teaser site has released a new piece of art clearly showing the futuristic-looking skyline of China's Shanghai city. A China setting has been tipped in numerous rumour reports, and this new image (pictured right) appears to confirm that Shanghai will play host to battles in the sequel. The teaser site launched last week, asking fans to log in using their Origin accounts to reveal more information. The Shanghai art is the latest image to be released, following an image of what appears to be a female soldier, and an aircraft carrier - both alluding to new features for the series.Naval battles are also tipped after a recent Battlefield 4 video showed the propeller of a seemingly large ship. The site tells visitors to come back on March 27 for "a first look at gameplay". That's one day after the game's planned reveal event on March 26, to which EA has invited press to see the game for the first time.
