A PS Vita version of Worms is coming this year. "One big Worms game we can mention is a game for the PS Vita that we are working closely with Sony on, this will be the ultimate handheld console version releasing later this year," Managing Director at Team17 Debbie Bestwick says.
It's a brief aside during a lengthy piece at Red Bull about how the company has managed to stay profitable all these years, mostly on the backs of its invertebrate mascots. Team17 is also a listed developer on PS4, though Bestwick doesn't offer any clues as to what the developer is working on. Team17 is currently fiddling around with Ouya developer kits, though "not for Worms specifically but for a number of possibilities."

A promised patch to adjust the difficulty found during a late game combat sequence in God of War: Ascension has been deployed. Santa Monica Studio Community Strategist Aaron Kaufman posted on the PlayStation Blog to explained the changes introduced by the game's patch.
Found in Chapter 28 of the game's single-player campaign, the 'Trial of Archimedes' pits Kratos against waves of enemies as he ascends a tower toward Ascension's final chapter. The tweak will now provide players across all difficulties with a slew of "green health orbs and a nominal amount of blue magic orbs" after each successive wave, of which there are three.
"In every God of War game, establishing a well-paced difficulty ramp towards the end of the game is paramount to us. Based on player response, the degree of challenge offered here was short of our goal of being perfectly balanced," Kaufman wrote.
The 1.03 patch also adds new, visual multiplayer customization options called "Marks" that players can obtain based on a number of criteria, including selected allegiance. For more details, check the PlayStation Blog.

PS4 lead architect Mark Cerny knew as far back as 2007 that "clearly we had some issues with PlayStation 3".The system was complicated compared to PC and Xbox 360, and the result was PS3 often coming off worse during multi-platform game development.2007 was when Mark Cerny began researching the X86 processor that's now inside PlayStation 4. His passion for Sony's new machine and what ought to be in it led him to pitch for control of the project. He got it."I just don't understand it, Phil!"
"The biggest thing was that we didn't want the hardware to be a puzzle that programmers would be needing to solve to make quality titles," Mark Cerny told Gamasutra, referencing the Cell.It wasn't until dedicated PS3 teams at Naughty Dog (Uncharted) and Sony Santa Monica (God of War) invested time and money getting to grips with PS3 - and shared their findings - that Sony's machine started to shine. As early as 2008, Mark Cerny began asking developers what they wanted in PS4. He had to be fairly innocuous about it - "it's not like we could come out and say we were developing the next generation of hardware" - so he asked in a questionnaire what developers and middleware engine makers thought the next generation might bring. Unified memory, they said, and no more than eight processing cores please. The tool chain and development environment was also a part of the solution. "We wanted our tools to be much richer and much more accessible to our developers," said Cerny, "even in the launch timeframe." PlayStation Vita was the first embodiment of that. The result of Cerny's hard work was unveiled by Sony in February. PlayStation 4 has PC-like architecture that developers understand, and a whopping amount of memory thatdevelopers are labelling "a joy".The Witcher 3 developer CD Projekt Red also highlighted another welcome effect of PlayStation 4's PC-like architecture: being able to make one change during development that will affect all versions of a game, rather than bespoke changes for each. "This time around the situation is much easier for developers," said Adam Badowski, head of CDPR. And "much easier" means much quicker which means saving time which means saving money. Less faff, more creativity, better results.

John Riccitiello may be firmly in the rearview mirror of the EA monolith but his stated philosophy concerning its flagship shooter is still in place, it seems. From the evidence on display at Battlefield 4's first reveal of its FPS in the Skandia Teatern in Stockholm last night, EA seems to be after two things. First, it wants to lay an unshakable claim to having one of this year's biggest releases. Second, and admittedly, this is extrapolating, to an extent; it wants to eclipse its competition.

First person shooters Primal Carnage: Genesis and Blacklight: Retribution front a long list of new PlayStation titles announced at GDC 2013.
The news comes as Sony reveals an increased commitment to indie publishing, which amongst other things includes the simplification of the submission and approval process.
“Since my last post, I’ve joined SCEA and expanded the incredible team that focuses on fostering relationships with publishers and developers that share our goal of bringing the best games to you, the PlayStation community,” SCEA’s VP of publisher and developer relations Adam Boyes wrote on the PlayStation Blog.
“During this year’s Game Developer’s Conference in San Francisco, our team has put a strong focus on independent game developers. This evening, we collaborated with the PlayStation Network team to host a PlayStation Indie Arcade event, where we gave hands-on demos for more than 25 indie games that are coming to all PlayStation platforms.
“Our goal is to continue to work with the independent developer community to provide fantastic games you can’t find anywhere else.”
Perhaps the most eye-catching title is Lukewarm Media’s episodic open-world Unreal Engine 4 powered Primal Carnage: Genesis, a PS4 FPS that on the face of it appears to be a modern take on Turok or Jurassic Park.
Also heading to PS4 is Zombie Studios’ free-to-play online multiplayer FPS Blacklight Retribution. Videos for both can be seen below, along with the first gameplay trailer for Sony’s outing Rain.
Also down below is a video for upcoming indie 2D fighter Divekick while Spelunky, which has already enjoyed success on Xbox Live Arcade, is confirmed for PS3 and Vita.
Here’s the full list of new games, all of which will be released on PSN:

Ever-increasing development budgets rear ugly head in latest Square Enix financials
Sales of 3.4 million for Square Enix’s Tomb Raider reboot in the space of a month were not enough to meet targets, according to the publisher’s latest financial report.
The Japanese game giant, which is expecting to report "extraordinary losses", said that despite performing well critically, titles such as Tomb Raider, Hitman: Absolution and Sleeping Dogs all failed to hit their sales goals.
Hitman: Absolution reported 3.6 million sales, while Sleeping Dogs hit 1.75 million.
Square Enix said that its North America sales force in particular was “ineffective”, making up just two thirds of the number of units sold in Europe.
Labelling the sales of 3.4 million for Tomb Raider as “weak” shows the challenges developers are increasingly facing to produce triple-A titles with ever-escalating development costs.

Vita and PS3 2D hack-and-slash Dragon's Crown gets a North American coronation this summer, both at retail and on PlayStation Network. The PS3 price is $49.99, while on Vita it's $39.99. While the co-op game (for up to four players) won't support cross-platform play, multiplayer can be enjoyed both on PS3 and Vita, the latter via an ad-hoc network.
The news swiftly follows the reveal of the Vanillaware game's Japanese release date of July 25, along with a two-minute trailer which displayed once more theMuramasa and Odin Sphere studio's hand-animated style, along with someinteresting character designs.

Sony's Rain is a game you've probably forgotten, and yet if it manages to live up to the firm's recent digital output it will surely be one of 2013's most memorable.Briefly announced at Gamescom 2012 and then buried underneath a quarry of more glitzy announcements, Rain is the latest from Japanese team PlayStation C.A.M.P.As the creator of two of PSN's most unique titles Tokyo Jungle and Echochrome, the single-player action adventure already carries the weight of expectation. Factor in the exceptional quality of last year's BAFTA-winning digital line-up, and you might not be surprised if the developer may even be feeling a little pressured to live up to PSN's newfound reputation.

Uberjack who originally released his PSP Emulators here at DCEmu has posted some news at his site concerning those emulators:It’s been a while since I last wrote anything here – I’ve been writing chunks of stuff at Google+, mostly regarding my current project, CocoaMSX. I’ve migrated vast majority of my PSP emulators to Google Code – PSP’s SVN repository seems to be one of the most frequently accessed parts of my site, so I figured it’d make sense to make it a lot more widely accessible, as well as allow me to eventually retire my repository. All binaries have been migrated – including past releases and both 1.50 and 2.00 variants. Source is available as well, but since the original repository contained all the projects, I ended up discarding the revision history, in order to ease the transition. The only repository that has not been migrated is NeoPop, because RACE PSP made it unnecessary. A while back, I wrote about receiving a note from Google regarding the Federal Government taking up interest in sites that hosted pirate Android apps. I’ve since received official confirmation that indeed, the wheels of justice are turning – if only a bit slowly. If piracy did harm the sales of the app (and I have reasons to believe that it did), it did so at the worst time possible for me – at a time when no official client was yet available. While it’s too late for Spark 360, I hope it will improve the commercial landscape for current and future Android developers, and not drive them away. I will finally be attending Google IO this year – after trying to secure attendance unsuccessfully in 2011 and 2012 – although I did attend an Extended session at one of Google’s campuses. It should be interesting to see what Google has coming this year – especially after the poorly received Google Q, and the disturbingly Orwellian Google Glass of last year. There has been a lot of speculation about a new Android-based watch from Samsung – something to which I’m particularly looking forward.http://0xff.akop.org/2013/03/23/goings-on/

As we announced the upcoming release of a VHBL port by TomTomDu80 for Vita 2.06, Sony followed what is now a tradition, and pulled the game from their EU store as soon as they got the information. Many people contacted us about this now, and although I haven’t verified myself, this got confirmed by enough sources that I trust this is true.As I type this, the game is still available on the US PSN, and that might be your last chance to grab the game before it’s gone, as we expect the US store to remove it as well as soon as office hours start over there. The game was not available in the JP or HK stores.
As a reminder, the upcoming release is “only” VHBL, which will not allow you to run psp isos, but “only” a subset of PSP homebrews. At this point, I do not know if a psp kernel exploit will be released that takes advantage of the Apache OVerkill exploit, but who knows. Historically, when a psp kernel exploit is released, the exploit gets backported to older user mode exploits, and maybe that will happen too, or maybe no new psp kernel exploit will ever be released after the 2.02 CEF/ARK series.
