Over a dozen reviews have popped up online, and it looks like LittleBigPlanet is on track to be the PlayStation 3's best-reviewed first-party title -- despite some well-strung criticisms. In fact, according to Metacritic's data, it's the only game in the PS3's Top 5 that doesn't have a "4" in the title (in order: GTA IV, Call of Duty 4, Metal Gear Solid 4 and Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion). Of course, glowing reviews don't ensure the game will translate into ca-ching, but it's a great indication that we'll be seeing plenty of LittleBigPenis levels for years to come.
PlayStation Official Magazine UK (100/100): "There simply isn't anything else like LBP on any system, anywhere. It's a beautifully elegant and powerful creative tool that puts unlimited potential in the palm of your hand."
CVG (96/100): "You'll look for inspiration for levels, mechanical dilemmas or puzzles in every corner of your life. And in your sleep. It will take over your conversations with fellow players. You will become obsessed. You have been warned."
IGN (95/100): "Media Molecule has created a brilliant platformer, and then given you the tools to recreate the whole thing over again, or better yet, to create your own ideas from scratch. It's not perfect - the controls could be tighter, automatically shifting between planes can be problematic, the editor isn't quite as robust as you might hope - but what's there is nothing short of astounding."
Eurogamer (90/100): "The promise that anyone could create something simple and fun and personal with LittleBigPlanet hasn't come true. In a way, it's the opposite of Spore, which makes it easy and fun for every single player to have creative input, but doesn't let any of them change the fabric of the game. LittleBigPlanet lets them run wild, with unprecedented results, but it locks the majority out of the creative process, because it's time-consuming and simply not very enjoyable."

Now that the PSP-3000 (or PSP Brite, as our Joystiq friends like to call it) has hit the streets, it was only natural for its innards to be splayed for all the world to see -- it's all part of the circle of life, or some similarly cliche lyric. We wouldn't really know where to begin running through these parts and figuring out what's new, but Impress Watch says it's pretty much the LCD getting all the love here, and that otherwise they're seeing way fewer internal changes than they saw when Sony released the PSP-2000. Sounds about right to us, but we're really just in it for the senseless violence of it all.

via PS3Fanboy:
Some of you who've played the BioShock demo may have noticed a number of minor graphical differences between the PS3 and 360 versions. A 2K community manager by the name of 2K Elizabeth made a post on their forums about an upcoming patch that will fix some of those problems, specifically:
Fix for an issue where large blocky pixels would show up whenever viewing the Bouncer and Elite Bouncer variants of the Big Daddy.
Fix for an issue where white/discolored bars would show up at the right and bottom sides of the screen during the plane crash / water scene at the beginning of the game.
There are other problems fixed, but the full patch list will be unveiled at a later time. The patch itself will be released some time after the game's launch, but no specific date has been announced.

Don't pretend to be surprised. This happens all the time. When a game that's as feverishly anticipated as LittleBigPlanet is, gamers will be hunting down the retail location that doesn't pay its employees enough to care about things like "street dates." "Do not stock until 'not my problem'," is the philosophy at at least one Best Buy location, the one at which reader Chris snagged his early copy (and he's not the only one). Hopefully, though, he's taking advantage of his early access to the game by creating some awesome penis-themed levels. Good get, Chris.

Dark Alex is certainly back and on fire and has released a PSARDUMPER for Firmware 5.00, now he and others can decrypt the new firmware:
This is psardumper to extract 5.00.
Modules of psp3000 cannot be extracted and decrypted yet, due to keys being in 3000 ipl (kernel keys) and mesg_led03g.prx (filenames table keys).
Due to that, you will see various "warnings", just ignore that.

Hmm some breaking news if indeed confirmed, seems that anyone who uses the new v5.0 firmware and in the future uses custom firmware will not get access to the PSN Store because of checks to see if your running an Official or Custom Firmware.
Interesting times ahead for the PSP scene what will the as yet unhackable consoles and now this, Are Sony finally getting their act together ??

Uberjack has updated his Neogeopocket Emulator for PSP
This is a small release that mainly fixes a few bugs and introduces several features that are likely to make it into other emulators as well:
Fixed state auto-selection bug; when switching games, the latest save state will now be highlighted
Added support for NGC and NGPC file extensions
To improve menu entrance/exit time, reduced the number of times the game will save flash RAM data. Flash data will now be saved when resetting a game, loading a new game, and exiting emulator
Rapid fire support - map any button to A or B autofire (’Controls’ tab). You can also change the rate of autofire (’Options’ tab)
Snapshots are now saved into PSP’s own PHOTO directory (/PSP/PHOTO), and can be viewed in PSP’s image viewer
File selector now has snapshot support - while browsing for games with the file selector, pause momentarily to display the first snapshot for the game
Thanks to those of you who submitted suggestions for some of the new features.

Launching today, October 14, 2008, and available at www.youtube.com/playstation, the PlayStation channel on YouTube will offer fans a place where they can easily access new trailers and game footage, check out interviews with publishers and developers, share user-generated content, participate in PlayStation promotions and contests, and stay connected to the PlayStation experience. More than 50 pieces of content will be available at launch, including features for SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation, MotorStorm™: Pacific Rift, NBA '09: The Inside, and the PlayStation®Network.
An evolving service, the PlayStation channel on YouTube will initially consist of a primary PlayStation channel with a regularly updated "Featured Video" and an embedded menu bar for specific games that takes users to a playlist page for additional video content. Fans will be able to customize their own YouTube playlists with PlayStation content and also subscribe to the PlayStation channel for updates. The channel will also consist of a menu bar that allows users to interact directly with other components of the PlayStation community, including PlayStation.com (http://www.us.playstation.com/) and the PlayStation Blog (http://blog.us.playstation.com/). In addition, SCEA will leverage the PlayStation channel to showcase contests alongside SCEA's promotional activities, encouraging fans to submit original content for a chance to participate.
In the future, PlayStation's YouTube channel will feature a user-generated content section within the channel, as publishers and developers take advantage of the PlayStation 3's advanced application programming interface (API) to allow users to create game mode videos. SCEA will also launch game-specific enhanced YouTube channels, starting off with the highly anticipated game LittleBigPlanet™. LittleBigPlanet, which launches on October 21 will also have its own YouTube channel coming out in November and will feature cross-promotion with the LittleBigPlanet.com community.

October 15th, 2008, 20:40 Posted By: wraggster
Games under the DJ MAX titles have long attracted players through the incorporation of cool songs and graphics. By utilizing the two strongest aspects of the PSP console, DJ MAX Portable Emotional Sense is bringing you a whole new DJ experience.
New games have to come with new music, DJMAX welcomes the hit techno-classic band Clazziquai into their family. Clazziquai's music, although intricate as a whole, can be split into different parts.
By concentrating on one part of the music, the female lead's melody, for example, new gamers can have an easier time picking up the basics and by working together with the computer or other DJs, the players can perform complex melodies that dazzle.
While the Clazziquai version provides ample training opportunities for novices, Black Square is the communal playground for veterans. Instead of relying on the CPU, turn on your Wi-Fi connection on the Sony PSP and DJ with friends within your reach.
The Black Square version encapsulates the essence of DJMAX through different modes and features well known DJMAX artists such as Croove, Ruby Tuesday, ND Lee, Makou and Planetboom.
Besides new tracks, the game combines songs from the first and second games resulting in a music database with more than 100 pieces. By taking challenges, players can unlock hidden stages and music videos, listen to music, train your reflexes and have a lovely time.
The new Sony PSP exclusive DJ Max title Emotional Sense is now on preorder in the following editions:
DJ Max Portable Emotional Sense - Black Square KOR US$ 49.90
DJ Max Portable Emotional Sense - Clazziquai Edition KOR US$ 49.90
DJ Max Portable Emotional Sense - Clazziquai Edition [Special Package] KOR US$ 59.90
The Limited Edition of the Clazziquai version comes in a different jacket and with a wall scroll painted delicately by the artists of the Pentavision team.
While both Clazziquai Editions are expected for late October, the Black Square version will follow a month later.
Besides gameplay, DJMAX is also known for its excellent music, as mentioned previously. Technika is the new DJMAX sensation in the arcades. The touch screen music game trains your reflexes and brings the hotness of Korean pop music to a wide range of audiences.
You'll be able to find something familiar, songs used in previous games, and new songs from famous artists such as Rion, BJJ and Urbatronic Chopsticks. Aside from Korean pop, the Japanese composer Tsukasa also made contributions to the game.
To accommodate the skill level and music tastes of gamers, there is a wide range of music genres in this CD, for example, pop, folk and techno-punk.
Technika is exclusive to Korea at the moment, but its popularity is not restricted to certain areas, come join in the fun wherever you are. DJMAX Technika, the Original Soundtrack of the arcade game is available in several versions:
DJ Max Technika Card Collection [Platinum Package] KOR US$ 18.90
DJ Max Technika Card Collection [Technika Package] KOR US$ 18.90
DJ Max Technika Exclusive Collection [Limited Edition] KOR US$ 29.90
The albums are coming in the end of the month along with the Emotional Sense games.
All of these music packages come with an IC card key and an LCD cleaner. The Platinum Collection edition comes with a CD which records the remix of the tracks while the Exclusive Collection comes with all the Platinum Collection's items plus a sheet of stickers.

Newly released today:
Revise and relive the plot of the recently ended Gundam series Gundam 00. The anime is turned into the game to give you a feel of what the characters went through during the heated battles.
Out of the 4 meisters involved in Celetial Being, choose one of them as your player character and take up the missions that challenges both your reflexes and judgement.
For every mission, you can change partners. Get to know the other meisters and see what kind of operations they excel in. Besides the existing plot elements, you can also view original episodes that are written for the game.
Combo and battle animations are most beautifully done. You are given a time during these animations to launch combo attacks. Enter as many commands as you possibly can into your mobile suit and do lethal damage to your enemies.
Mobile Suit Gundam 00: Gundam Meisters is available on PlayStation2 as Japanese versions, selling for US$ 64.90 for each copy.
