In part one, Sony explained that next Spring's glowing wand will have rumble feedback. Here, Anton Mikhailov (the guy from the E3 demos) dishes the prototype was built using parts from Home Depot, and caused a stir with airport security.
Mikhailov also confirms that the combination of camera tracking, gyroscopes and accelerometers are precise enough for the wand to be used in more complicated games, not just casual titles.
I'm looking forward to seeing how the multiple axis tracking may improve on traditional dual stick DualShock controls. We should hear more from the Tokyo Game Show on September 24.

Fieldrunners developer Subatomic Studios has revealed that when porting the tower defense game from iPhone to PSP, the process was easier than the company had expected.
As reported by Touch Arcade, the news emerged out at the Penny Arcade Expo 2009, otherwise known as PAX.
No quotes were provided, and no other information was revealed, but if ports of iPhone titles to the new PSPGo and related Minis service are relatively painless, numerous studios crafting games for the Apple device may soon consider releasing titles for the new iteration of the Sony handheld.

A trusted retail source has corroborated earlier reports and told Eurogamer that a 250GB PS3 Slim will arrive here as early as October, as part of three console-plus-game bundles.
Unlike Spain, the UK will combine either Assassin's Creed II, Gran Turismo 5 or Uncharted 2 with the 250GB PS3 Slim. And each bundle will cost £299.99.
Sony has not backed this up in writing, which is why our source wished to remain anonymous.
Although the bundle will arrive in October, perhaps only Uncharted II - released on 23rd October - will appear then. Assassin's Creed is due on 20th Novmember, and Sony has only officially narrowed the date for GT5 to Q4 2009.
The crescendo in retailer chatter suggests the platform holder may be poised to make an announcement soon. Yet, for now, its validity - and what Microsoft will counter with - remains to be seen.

Eurogamer Spain is reporting that Sony will introduce a 250GB PS3 Slim as soon as October this year.
The console will be bundled with a copy of FIFA 10 and be exclusive to GAME, according to the report. The package will cost €350 (£307).
Sony Europe has declined comment.
The PS3 Slim launched here last week and boosted sales of the console by 1000 per cent. That unit houses a 120GB hard-drive.
This isn't the first we've heard of a 250GB model, however, after FCC filings from May outlined two production models: 120GB and 250GB.

Crack, crack, crack the egg into the bowl… Easier than baking a cake with PaRappa is creating homebrew with cbarox’s PSPConstructor.
With little or no programming knowledge you can point-and-click your way to homebrew heaven. Drag this, drop that, click, click, and compile. You just built your first homebrew app/game using the JGE++ engine.

News/release from Art:
Hi Guys,
I thought the PSP scene was short on button tester type apps,
so here's a program that will test the joystick angle.
It's a little thing I was been playing with to test 2D rotation.
It doesn't test magnitude (distance from the center or dead zone).

Okay, folks at Joystiq have reported that Square Enix's president Yoichi Wada has annouced that Final Fantasy XIII will be released in Japan on December 17, 2009. It will retail for ¥8,800 (rouchly £58 or $95 US).
A PS3 hardware bundle with the game will come out, though Kaz Hirai doesn't tell of any info such as pricing or a date when it arrives though.
In any case, we know it's finally coming, now we just need a western release date for the game - if it does happen to differ to the Japanese launch that is.

News from the Official site:
A lot is going on behind the scenes these days so without further ado here's our news:
PCSX2 has a brand new GUI in development! We will be using wxWidgets for cross-platform compatibility and speedier dev cycles. However it won't be ready for beta for some time. For further info read the blog titled Measuring the Benefits of wxWidgets
A Final beta has been released using the current PCSX2 GUI. It has tons of improvements over the old one, mainly on microVU which is now almost complete. Get it from our downloads section.
First time we release a Linux beta, courtesy of Arcum42, found in the above link as well.
Blog posts now allow user comments in our forum! Discussions surrounding the development part of PCSX2 are going strong in the new forum
Major work on the site even if you can't see it. New Guide page, updated About, updated Contact, all pages XHTML valid, Compatibility list filter/go button fixed and cross-browser compatibility.
New, extremely detailed Compile Wiki, courtesy of n1ckn4m3.
New forum plugins, added recaptcha 2 for spam protection, auto image resizing, users browsing thread and favorite icon. Fixes for the Dark theme, which should now look perfect in all browsers
As development of the new GUI is currently under way, the trunk of our SVN will have a very alpha PCSX2 which you should only use for testing or just out of curiosity. For a bleeding edge usable PCSX2 for the time being use the last released beta.

Use the particular skills of each of the little warriors to defeat the evil warlord, free the enslaved animals, and release the pedestrians from their state of terror and return them to their normal lives!

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe's Zeno Colaco has told Develop magazine that, somewhere down the line, Sony may stop charging some developers for PSP dev kits and just start handing them out for free.
Speaking about the endless comparisons between the PSPgo's "Minis" line and the almighty App Store, Colaco says that unlike Apple - who he says leave devs "out in the wilderness" - Sony are looking at a way of ensuring both quality titles and accessibility for smaller developers.
"Further down the line, we may investigate a totally free model or supported model."
Wonder what criteria you'd need to establish before qualifying for a free dev kit?

Since Sony's 3.0 firmware update for PS3, which added BBC's iPlayer to the XMB, the BBC has reported that PS3 "now accounts for a massive 10% of all iPlayer viewing."
"User response to our new iPlayer for PS3 has been amazing," said BBC's Anthony Rose. "Although it's less than a week since we launched, iPlayer on PS3 now accounts for a massive 10% of all iPlayer viewing, overtaking Mac (8.5%) to be our 2nd most popular platform for IP-delivered content.
"We'll have to wait and see whether this holds up in the coming weeks, but this enthusiastic reception makes it clear that users do want iPlayer on their TV - something that bodes well for Canvas and other IPTV propositions."
If you wonder why the screen dims every 20 minutes when you're watching it, here's what to do. "By default the PS3 screensaver kicks in after 20 minutes, dimming the screen right in the middle of your favourite programme. So you might want to disable the screensaver: Settings > Display Settings > Screensaver"

News via http://streetskaterfu.blogspot.com/2...fo-reader.html
Back in June, iQD and me worked on a PC client messenger to write with people who are online via their PS3 in the PlayStation Network. Well, the sad truth is: The PSN uses a token system which we could not reverse fully yet. The most is done server- and firmware-side so nearly impossible except we could decrypt and analyse several firmware .sprx files. Anyway, now we release 2 parts of the full cake which will be used in the full program, if it ever will be finished. If not, you still can use those both as standalone applications.
The first: PSN Account Mail Checker
The mail checker is used to find out yout real username used by the PSN to get more information about your account and login several services. Here you just select your region and enter your PSN ID. After, a XML file will be created which contains your "real" PSN server side username.
The syntax is like this: iQD@a1.at.np.playstation.net
The second: PSN Account Info Reader
After you executed the first application and received your mail-like username, you can start the second program. Select your region again and input your "username". Another XML file will be created, containing your actual PSN-comment, your main languages, your PSN avatar etc.
To prevent legal problems, we don't provide any keys for functioning properly (don't even ask for it). Anyway we implemented a function which allows you to try any key-file which should be named key.txt. Place the key.txt in the same folder as the both executables --> done. If it's the correct one, the appz will work
Download:
(Linux 64Bit & 32Bit)
